I had a spacious room designed for three people, but I was staying alone as the others rooms was full. The hotel was clean, with daily housekeeping provided. The location was convenient, with cafes, restaurants, fast food options, and a convenience store all nearby. The airport bus stops directly in front of the hotel, and the journey takes about an hour. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. As a solo female traveler, I felt completely safe during my stay. The neighborhood was quiet and secure, which I really appreciated—especially after visiting busier areas in Seoul that can get quite crowded at night. This location offered a more peaceful, non-touristy atmosphere with fewer crowds and a calm, relaxed vibe. The room I stayed in, which was designed for three people, might feel a bit small depending on your expectations. The hotel is also slightly farther from the city center, but getting around wasn’t an issue—ride-hailing services were affordable, and there are nearby metro and bus stations for easy access. Majority of the touristy shopping sites such as Myeongdong and Hongdae might take around 45 mins via metro and bus from the hotel.

- Aura Walker (8/5): - Though not close to any spas. As Seoul is known for. Was within walking distance to restaurants, stores and a nice neighborhood outdoor market. The staff were accomodating and gracious. They gave us adequate directions to local, walking distance things to do, stored our bags till check in and lent us phone chargers with local plugs. The room was modern, and simple. Clean enough and basic for a quick overnight stay. The heated toilet seat was a highlight! They give new, wrapped room slippers which was great. The cafe drinks were good. We did not eat there. But ate out. There are lot's of neighborhood restaurants of good quality. We bought round trip bus shuttle tickets at the airport and the hotel gave us the schedule. It was surprisingly easy to get dropped off in front of the hotel, then get back to the airport from the pickup location across the street. The bus ride is one hour door to door. They run on time. For a basic stay. This place did the trick. I had to ask for our sheets to be replaced due to some strange purple stains on one and a hair on the sheets of the other bed. I always check bedding and make sure the bedding at all hotels is super clean. For a booking of two. They only gave us towels for one and I had to request more.

- GOOYOUNG (1/5): 충격적인 호텔입니다. - 없습니다. 어메니티가 없습니다. 샴푸 바디워시 린스가 기본적으로 비누 입니다. 비누도 포장된 일회용품이 아니라 뜯어져있는 상태이며, 이런 곳은 처음봅니다. 또한 2인 숙박에 수건이 3장으로 추가 요청을 하니 1장당 2,000원 비용이 있습니다. 수건 추가금 받는 호텔도 처음이며 2인에 기본 4장은 기본 아닌가요? 창틀 및 바닥에 먼지와 머리카락이 덕지덕지 있으며, 욕실 샤워부스 바닥/벽면부는 곰팡이 관리를 안하는지 아쉽습니다. 지인 출장으로 예약해준 호텔에 욕만 더럽게 먹었네요.

- Taenny (7/5): Business Hotel, gute Lage - Die Lage ist gut, insbesondere die Verkehrsanbindung. Direkt vor dem Hotel befindet sich die Haltestelle des Flughafenbusses. Das Hotel ist sehr sauber. Das Badezimmer ist geräumig und gut ausgestattet. Im Zimmer gibt es keine Möglichkeit, Kleidung zu verstauen. Es gibt weder eine Kommode noch einen Kleiderschrank. Man muss wirklich aus dem Koffer leben. Das ist für einen langen Aufenthalt nicht spaßig.
- ENRIQUE (4/5): A real shame - I don’t have much to say about this hotel, except that the staff were very friendly and spoke excellent English. I think they’re still living off the list that Monocle made in 2017, where they were featured as one of the best hotels in the world and you can see it everywhere. I’ve stayed at many hotels from that list, and this one has nothing to do with that level of quality. Dirty beds, dust and hair everywhere, scratched walls, and carpets full of stains. The bathrobes have clearly seen better days,frayed and stained and the amenities were very limited. The rooftop, which probably used to be lively at some point, is now just a dark, cluttered space filled with random stuff. In short, I believe this hotel used to be good (the building itself has a lot of potential), but nowadays, whether it’s due to a change in management or simple neglect, it just feels run down. A real shame, because the staff were genuinely kind and helpful throughout my stay.

The hotel needs some renovation, and in fact while staying there, some floors were under renovation. The location is very far from most tourist attractions, so you need to travel about 1 hour per direction to reach most tourists' points of interest.

- Kathy (8/5): Clean, modern hotel with good value and great location on the southwest side of the Hangang River. - The property has extremely comfortable beds, bed linens and pillows. I also liked the step-in shower and bidet in the bathroom. The room is relatively spartan, but has an electronic safe, small refrigerator, a desk/dressing table and a full-length mirror. Location ideal to walk to public transportation, food markets, shops and my family's home. Housekeeping was very attentive and provided bottled water and towel service daily. Handpicked Hotel is currently renovating their rooms. The rooms on my floor had not yet been renovated. The only seating in my room was an upholstered footstool, partially broken. All of the hotel rooms need a sturdy chair with a BACK and ARMS to comfortably sit at the desk/dressing table. It would also help to have an additional chair in the room to be able to sit and read. There are no closets--just a rod near the doorway with hangers. Since I was in the hotel for two weeks, it would have been helpful to have more shelves and places to put my belongings. Also, the thermostat was somewhat dysfunctional. During the night the room would get very warm, and it was difficult to adjust. This may have been due to the ongoing electrical renovations on the floor above.

Airport shuttle bus cost 15000 per person, the station 6019 is right infront of the hotel. Very convenient. 2. Nearby have two subway station, walking distance about 8 minutes from hotel. 3. Have lots of CU marts and some other supermarkets around. 4. Taxi from hotel to myeong dong about 28 minutes but price is expensive about 50000 won. Not recommended with taxi. Subway is much better and cheaper.

- 431dmitryb (2/5): AVOID BY ANY MEANS! The tiniest hotel room I ever had - AVOID BY ANY MEANS! The tiniest hotel room I ever had, 12-13m2. They misleading the customers, it's said in the ad that the room is 19m2, but it's not! I measured with iPhone Measure. Very poor customer service: asked to change the room to one that is 19m2, was told that I'm wrong and the room is 19m2, eventually their manager popped up with the roulette (!), but when I offered him to measure, he suggested to see the other room. Rooms are very poorly furnished and furnishing is very outdated. The room has no toiletry - no soap, no toothbrush and toothpaste and so on. If you want it, you have to pay extra. Rooms are poorly cleaned. Location is rather far from the center. Overall, the right word for this hotel POOR. Will never come back here again and advise you to stay away from this poor hotel by any means!

- Deborah (5/5): maybe a hip place 10 yrs ago, needs upgrading - I loved the beds, pillows, comforter, bidet, shower, tv the shower tiles weren't cleaned properly, I know matt black isn't the best, but there are cleaning supplies that work for residue. the towels were very very old, with strings fraying, the furniture was very beaten up, paint danaged, walls were needing a paint as well. the bathroom cupboard was VERY damaged and moldy? no sugar or milk supplied for in room tea or coffee. no hangers or dresser supplied for clothes to be stored. the tiny night stand was not sufficient for 2 ppl sharing the room as the phone took up half of it's top space. the carpet outside our door was atrocious with stains abd huge Bleach marks. the elevator ceiling was cracked and very very dirty, the handle inside the elevator was equally damaged with most of the black paint chipped off.

- Susan (9/5): Staff were friendly, the room was tidy and clean and a perfect size for a solo traveler. - I enjoyed my stay there. I worker helped me with my luggage as soon as I got on the premises. The staff was friendly and helpful. Even as a foreigner there was no communication barrier. I tried the Spanish latte which was good and next time I stay I want to try the restaurant on the premises as well. There was nothing I did not like. Staff were friendly, the room was tidy and clean and a perfect size for a solo traveler. There hotel had many food, drink and other items to purchase. Overall it was a nice stay that I am going to recommend for other travelers.

- Jim (6/5): - For Americans new to South Korea, expect hotel rooms to be smaller than what you are used to. Hand Picked Hotel is no exception. Then again, the Hotel rates are far lower than in the USA. If you’re expecting a 4star experience and room sizes, book a Five Star Hotel. I would give a 4 star to the staff, only because I ran into a situation where no staff were present when I accidentally locked myself out of my room. Apparently the young reception crew were out back taking a break together. When I found them, and asked for assistance, they said they were taking a break and will be back in about 5 minutes. In all other instance, all the staff, from doorman to cleaning ladies were curtious and helpful. The hotel itself seems old and run down. We had a false fire alarm due to the elevators malfunctioning. Apparently water had flooded the elevator shafts. Then one of the two elevators the hotel had was shut down for the remainder of our stay. I will chalk it up to the rainy season. Our stay at Hand Picked Hotel was at the end of July.

The hotel does not appear to be maintained - from carpets to A/C to curtains and sheets, everything f was old, stained, not functioning well. This included the lifts which broke down during our stay and were not repaired a few hours later when we left (the staff had to help us carry suitcases down 4 flights).
- Lars (4/5): Disappointing - The guy working on the ground floor. Very friendly. Parts of the room were dirty and worn. The last impression was particularily bad when checking out. The process itself was easy, but i wanted to use the free coffee/tea coupon i got upon arrival. But the staff working then, that spoke like no English, claimed that I had already had my two free drinks. Not only were they wrong, but it felt very cheap by them not just getting me some tea after having stayed there for a full week.

I will probably book a deluxe room again next time as the size of the room was not suitable for me. Although the hotel is still modern, the amenities would be worth renovating.

It looks like it has never been cleaned since the day 1. Please do invest on refreshing the facility as it felt like worse than a motel as a result. It is a shame as the architecture is good.

Didn’t bother to replace used cups with new ones, and only refilled what was specifically requested. Could have taken the initiative to refill supplies that are obviously running low. What’s the point of having someone to clean your room if you have to ask specifically for refills?

- Sonja (10/5): Little gem on a freezing Day - Very cool hotel. It was a last minute for us to stay warm during some very cold days in Seoul and this gem did just that. Heated seats on toilet and heat in the room. Perfect. The breakfast was a plus and sth new we never would try to order ourselves. Great experience. Area is not close to any tourist area but Uber and metro are around. So no issue.
