Guest Reviews
- Lorraine (10/5): Fabulous weekend in Wales at Troed-y-Rhiw Holiday Cottage. - Great communication for info to find the property.
- Glenys (10/5): - Location
- Neil (10/5): Beautiful cottage in a great location - perfect for a family break. - Beautiful countryside location about a mile from town.
Cottage was great, with everything we needed for a family break.
Hosts were brilliant. Honestly, nothing.
Everything was perfect.
- Sarah (10/5): Warm cosy comfortable stay with gorgeous scenery - Roger was very helpful and friendly, recommended some lovely dog walking spots and nothing was too much bother for him.
Loved that they are also eco friendly :)
- Malik (10/5): -
- Jayne (10/5): -
- Ben (10/5): - Attentive hosts, everything you need, fabulous location
- Michael (9/5): - Great location, perfect for our needs.
- Sarah (8/5): -
- Jonathan (9/5): - Lovely little cottage with good amenities. Very quiet position with the next village being just over a mile walk away. Recommended Bathroom shower not brilliant and require some clothes hanging space.
- Bev (10/5): Lovely cottage, beautiful surroundings. - This was the 4th time my brother and I have stayed in this cottage (Troed-y-Rhiw) It is a home from home. Very comfortable and clean, and Roger and Katie are lovely hosts; helpful and friendly. The only downside is the lack of signal for the TV. We had to ask Roger for help in negotiating a way around the remote to get the channels, which he gladly gave 😊
- David (10/5): Wonderful! Fully recommended! - Lovely clean property. Beautiful location and had everything you needed for a peaceful stay.
- Rhoda (10/5): Lovely, a good pick - comfy couches, well appointed kitchen.
- Rebekah (10/5): Lovely, clean cottage with lots of character - Perfect location for the man vs horse race. Property was only a 20 minute walk or 5 minute drive from the town centre. Had a little hiccup with electrics when we first arrived but Roger was very quick to come to the rescue and sort things and he was very friendly and welcoming. The Property had lots of character and was lovely, clean and stocked with essentials (including some tea, coffee, sugar, little milk sachets and biscuits!). The town was also lovely and we had some great food at Stonecroft Inn- best chicken burger I've had in a long time! It can't be helped with such an old building but something (I think it was the bathroom door?) Creaked a lot in the night which did keep me awake, being a light sleeper, but other than that, nothing else to report!
- Manikandan (8/5): Nice place to stay and met my expectations - The hosts were great. They provided all information for checkin and stay at the property and it was a cozy place with all facilities. wifi doesn't properly work at the Troed-y-Rhiw cottage, probably an extender from the main location. Considering no mobile signal, atleast wifi needs to be stable to connect on emergency.
- Matt (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic cottage, great location
- Mark (9/5): Great hosts, lovely cottage, perfect for hiking in the area. - Perfect location for hiking in Abergwesyn.
- Elliot (10/5): 10/10 fantastic cottage in beautiful surroundings - The cottage was absolutely fantastic! Well located for many beautiful walks. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and would recommend it thoroughly- Roger and Katie were extremely accommodating and helpful.
- Omar (7/5): The host was great guy very helpful. - Views of the mountains. Signals
- Carwyn (8/5): Great place to stay . - Nice property , didn’t get much chance to see the area as we were working . Would definitely stay again .
- Jonathan (9/5): Superb -
- Tina (10/5): Perfect first family holiday - Perfect little cottage, well equipped with everything you need for your time away. Nothing.
- Bev (10/5): Exceptional - This is the 3rd time my brother and I have stayed at the cottage. It's always warm and comfortable and the hosts are helpful and friendly. N/A
Nothing to complain about.
- Philliip (8/5): Very good - It was in a quiet location, and the cottage was well equipped.it was nice to be away from the TV and radio. We found the art of talking again. Some of the properties plates could do with being replaced,
- Rebeccah (9/5): Peaceful stay off the beaten track - Everything we needed was provided, the beds were very comfortable and the smell of the bed linen divine! The area is so quiet, it was a real retreat. The maps provided were particularly helpful. We discovered some beautiful gems in the surrounding area too, it's a holiday we will fondly remember. The Rayburn did make the room above uncomfortably hot late evening, but I imagine it's just a case of reprogramming to suit?
- Karen (10/5): A must for any traveller to Mid Wales! - Amazing location, lovely cosy cottage with everything you could need. Nothing!
- Iveta (10/5): Amazing - Very nice, cosy, warm and clean cottage.
Bedding and towels was very good quality.
Wood burning fireplace was very nice on rainy days.
I am really liked that they using only eco friendly cleaning products.
At the cottage was almost everything we needed.
Owners had lots of recommendations what to see and where to go. Missed axe for chopping wood in smaller pieces. ( But I understand it’s safety reasons) maybe in a future leave some smaller pieces of wood.
- Gary (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carol (9/5): Peaceful, comfortable stay in beautiful surroundings. - Breakfast NA It was all lovely.
- Mark (8/5): Great location to explore the stunning Welsh countryside. - Great location, very helpful hosts. Plenty of space to park. Very warm cottage Sorry to say we found the bed very hard and uncomfortable to sleep in. In all our stays in Wales we have been welcomed by some Welsh cakes or biscuits.
- Cecilia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Donna (10/5): Comfortable - Cottage was warm and comfortable. Kitchen was well equipped. Ample parking and a secluded back garden.
Perfect for the weekend.
Added bonus was the log fire.
- Steven (7/5): Lovely location nice and quiet - Nice location Not walking distance to the town
- Mary (9/5): Beautifully comfortable and cozy cottage. -
- Bev (10/5): Fab stay in a lovely place. - The cottage is welcoming and clean.. Good instructions for the kitchen equipment. Hosts Roger and Katie are friendly and helpful. Apart from some condensation on top of the fridge for some reason, everything was lovely; no complaints 😊
- Jonathan (7/5): Really comfortable and relaxing - Very cosy and in a beautiful location Single beds were quite narrow.
- Caley (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carl (10/5): great cottage for a base to tour the area - clean nicely equipped, owner was friendly good position , good value nothing
- Elen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christianne (10/5): Magical little cottage - Troed y Rhiw. - compact and cosy but comfortable for 4 adults. Clean and tidy and hosts available if needed
- Yancheng (10/5): Exceptional - Nice and quite place to stay.
Close to the town Be careful with the door entrance, taller people may hit.
- Karen (10/5): Relaxing - The owner had made sure everything you could need was in the property. it snowed when we were there but between a Rayburn and a log burner (and heating) we were lovely and toasty. The views from the windows were amazing onto unspoilt Welsh countryside. Lots of walks. whole property spotlessly clean. safe parking. we had a lovely 5 days and will definitely go back again Very little!
- Paul (10/5): Great spot... - Great spot to stay for the Real ale wobble. Clean comfy and only a mile from town... Parking was a little tight for two cars, the narrow lanes makes it difficult to manoeuvre cars up driveway etc, front drive could do with being opened up.
- Joe (10/5): - The cottage was in an excellent, clean condition and the views from the house were stunning
- Bev (10/5): Lovely cottage, lovely surroundings. - The cottage was clean, comfortable and close to the local amenities for meals and shopping. Would definitely recommend. Roger, one of the hosts, is very helpful and easy to contact. There wasn't anything disagreeable.
- Stuart (9/5): Superb -
- Del (10/5): hidden gem in Wales. - Every now and then you find a little gem of a place to stay this is most definitely one of those places.
quiet, out of the way but close enough for shops etc.
- Andrea (10/5): Amazing - Fantastic property in a stunning location. Owners were so helpful and accommodating. Would highly recommend
- Chris (10/5): Wonderful! - Fantastic from start to finish. Great communication. Lovely cottage with everything you could possibly need. Such a wonderful rural and unspoilt setting. We’ll be going back for sure. Highly recommended.
- Jacqui (8/5): cosy - cosy little cottage
- Alyson (10/5): - Lovely short break staying at Bronfelin. Stunning views and lovely walks right from the front door.
- David (10/5): Lovely quite cottage - Nice quiet cottage with enough space for 5 people and a dog. Clean, warm and easy to find. Good service from renting agent. Needs a knife sharpener as all the knives were blunt.
- Lee (10/5): What a great place to go. - Amazing place, comfortable, beautiful and a great little cottage. The area is scenic and pretty and the cottage is a great base of operations to explore wales.
- Jennifer (10/5): Volltreffer!
- Trevor (10/5): A lovely comfortable cottage stay. - The cottage was comfortable, spotlessly clean and welcoming. The owners were very considerate and nice to be with, a relaxing stay.
- Aisling (10/5): Wonderful relaxing weekend in a lovely cottage - Wonderful cottage in a beautiful location. The cottage is lovely, lots of space but still very homely. Kitchen is fully fitted with large fridge freezer, induction hob, grill and oven, dishwasher, microwave and washing machine. The living room has a decent size flat screen tv, no tv signal but DVD player with plenty of DVDs in the cottage if you forget to bring your own. Excellent gas central heating but also a wonderful log burner with plenty of wood and coal available to burn. Main bedroom has a very comfortable king size bed, two singles in the second bedroom which we didn't use.
The cottage is in a great spot, a little more than a mile outside of Llanwrtyd Wells, plenty of walks from the front door, with routes provided in the cottage. Felt a little too far to walk to the town for drinks in the evening, but if you fancy it there is a rechargeable torch in the cottage provided.
We were made to feel very much at home by the owners and they helped us to relax from the moment we arrived.
Can't fault the place at all, would happily go back!
