- Jennifer (7/5): A comfortable, well-equipped stay with friendly and helpful staff. I would definitely stay again in - The room was comfortable for a few nights’ stay. It came equipped with a Keurig machine with Tim Hortons K-Cups, a fridge, and a microwave. The staff was friendly and very helpful when I called with questions. When I arrived, they provided extra towels and made it clear that if I needed anything, I shouldn’t hesitate to ask. No real complaints, aside from the floors needing a quick mop, which I took care of myself. Other than that, everything was great.
- Shannon (9/5): Overall, it was a nice, comfortable place to stay. Owner was friendly and helpful with suggestions for restaurants in th - Location
Clean & cozy
Helpful, friendly staff Room was a bit small
Shower didn’t have balance valve. Got scalding hot water followed by cold water before it balanced out.
- Nancy (5/5): - no breakfast included Fireplace did not turn on, the bathroom floor was soft and the shower sprayed from the top pipe making the floor wet and slippery

all good considering where it's located which is a beautiful remote part of Ontario. Very clean and organized with thought put into the over all presentation.
- Linda (10/5): - We arrived after a full day of driving. The owner was welcoming and the space was peaceful. We sat under a willow tree in the yard and relaxed. Be aware that restaurants are not open on Monday and Tuesday nights (at least not in September). We got to the grocery store just before it closed a 6. Loved walking along the harbour in the early morning. Pretty and peaceful.
- Marian (10/5): -
- Peter (7/5): Netter Aufenthalt! ☺️ - Super liebe Gastgeber! Umfangreiche Ausstattung, alles sauber und gepflegt. Kostenloser Parkplatz. Selbstversorger sollten Vorsorge betreiben, am Ort keine Einkaufsmöglichkeiten. Etwas in die Jahre gekommen.
- Nina (6/5): - Nothing nearby whatsoever. Tiny country town.
- Neil (10/5): Manitoulin stay - One of the few motels in that area of Manitoulin Island. Very welcoming host and very helpful. A decent restaurant in the area called the Garden Gate. The room was small but cozy and clean. Well set up with coffee and tea. Bathroom clean with a good selection of shampoo, bodywash and skin lotion
- Linda (8/5): - Loved the looks when we first arrived. The owners are lovely people.
As our stay progressed the ceiling fan was wobbly and clanky so had to turn off. The bathroom crank window would'nt shut and lock.
- Blair (8/5): - The motel was clean and comfortable for single night on Manitoulin Island. The bed was comfortable.
The location is close to both the bridge and ferry port. Dining options are limited and many close by 7 pm.
- Barbara (6/5): -
Room was described as having a kitchenette. It had only a small fridge, tiny microwave and a kettle and coffee maker. That is not a kitchenette.
- Dubravka (8/5): - The room was clean and neat and host was cordial, so stay was pleasant. The only thing that was scary where huge spiders near lamp at the entrance to the room..
- Daniel (10/5): - This is a comfortable motel and the owners are on site and very responsive to requests for recommendations.
- France (7/5): -
- Patricia (9/5): -
- Trouttimes (10/5): Does live up to its name!! - Conveniently located between the main road & village center. The room was clean, tidy and tastefully decorated suiting the lovely, historic atmosphere of the Manitowaning (with its museum, light house, water front, , , is much more than a transit point). There was a mistake in the handling of our booking but the friendly owner addressed the issue promptly & responsibly. Thank you very much for making our stay so very comfortable & enjoyable.
- Mike (10/5): - Perfect place to stop for the evening! Lots of pillows and blankets, paper towels, rags, etc everything you could want or need is provided
- kjerstin (10/5): - Great, convenient and friendly spot!
- David (8/5): - We road in on motorcycles in the rain, the staff had the heat on for us when we came in. Plus had rags available to wipe off the bike in the morning. These two things were a bonus for us. Could use more lighting in the kitchen area.
- Catherine (7/5): -
- Charlene (10/5): - Very clean and cute place!
- Erwin (8/5): -
- Emiliya (9/5): It is good place to stay when visiting Manitoulin island. - Our room is very clean. We had refrigerator and microwave in our room as per room description on booking. Outdoor area was very nice with BBQ station and tables. Owners gave us BBQ toot set. which we forgot to bring with us.
Location was easy to find. Air conditioner worked properly. Bathroom was clean. Nothing
- Joanne (8/5): - The owners were amazing and just so sweet and kind. The room is small but well kept. Hard to find food after 6:30 pm when we arrived, so arrive earlier if you can or come self sustained.
- Richard (8/5): - Friendly service
- Olga (10/5): - Excellent room, clean and has everything you need for a night. The owner is super friendly! There is not much to do or see in the area, including food options.
- Red (10/5): - We were running late for check-in, but it didn't matter. They were more than accommodating. Rooms are cute, clean and cozy. Pretty good size to be honest. A nice little tucked away place to stay. I'll definitely stay there again if I'm ever in the area.
- Esra (10/5): - Very clean and very quite. Betty Ann was amazing! She even helped us have the best experience with the Island, like a tour guy. Thanks to her, we had a map and visited all the best places in the Island very easily.
Definately, all shouls visit the Island and stay at Myfriend Inn.
- Patricia (6/5): - The Inn was very basic for the price. It was clean. A few added touches were appreciated e.g. the tea kettle. Our issue was finding a close place to eat. We ended up buying microwave dinners at the grocery store. It was quiet at night and a good little town to walk.
- Martina (9/5): -
- PAUL (10/5): - The owner (Betty Ann) was very nice and understanding when I lost the room key. Room was well laid out and functional.
- Tim (10/5): - Had a great stay. The hosts were incredibly friendly and showed us around the area. Look forward to going back.
- Michael (10/5): - Clean, comfortable and the host was super friendly. Totally walkable within Manitowaning, though the options within town (especially for little kids) are somewhat limited. Would definitely stay again though.
- Tejus Kumar (8/5): - It was okay
- Jenna (10/5): P - Great inn. Innkeepers very friendly. There is a local hiking trail that has dog guides, whichnwas super fun. The island is low key...great place to recharge on your way across Ontario.
- Chiara (10/5): Comfort, Spazio e Posizione Ideale - Camera recentemente rinnovata, spaziosa e pulita.
- XIAOMING (5/5): Good location. - Location AC is too loud.
Room has some kind moldy smell. The worst part is floor for some reason is soft, I almost felt because of that.
- MARY (4/5): - Shower outdated, toilet very low ,two bar stools available so uncomfortable.our stay was for 2nights but we checked out at 9am ,my husband got sick and was so uncomfortable and he wanted to go home ,I went to the office and explained the situation and I asked for a refund for 1night ,the lady was very polite but she said she was not able to give as a refund because she was not able to rent our room ,I politely said to her that I don’t understand there’s vacancies but she said unfortunately that the policy but if she would rent the room she would refund the one night, but I know that was not going to happen.
- Judite (10/5): - Bed great. Very quiet and small village. Close to the water and to the highway.
- Elizabeth (8/5): Comfortable and clean - An off the beaten path motel, very "at home" feeling. Well maintained, extremely clean, excellent bathroom/shower. Bed was very comfortable, air conditioner worked well, room with quiet. Grounds around the motel were very nice. I would have liked to stay a bit longer Only complaint was cobwebs/spiders on light fixture outside the motel door... but they are in the country. No other issues as this is a very very nice place to stay.
- Nancy (8/5): - We would definately stay here again Lots of little extras
- Dyan (10/5): - Always such a comfortable stay. Betty-Ann is always the most friendliest and helpful person. Always making sure her guests are well taken care of.

- Belanger (9/5): Felt very welcome and enjoyed our stay - Little picnic area with bbq and seating area
- Steve (10/5): - Will stay again if in the area.
- Julie (6/5): - Good service.
- Christine (10/5): - Loved the fact that because I was late getting there due to traveling that a note was left letting me know which room was mine. Very clean. Very friendly and helpful when I checked out
- Tamara (10/5): Betty Ann is super friendly and eager to make sure that you have everything you need for the best stay. - Very clean and well maintained. Small and quaint. This is not about this property, but about the area. The town of Manitowaning has no restaurants open on Tuesday nights. Just a heads up.
- Susan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Laurie (4/5): Tight room, small uncomfortable beds - Location was convenient. Outdoor space was pleasant One of the beds was “broken” (had a sinkhole in it) & was not fixed when addressed.
Bathroom window was broken - open with no curtains. Bathroom floor was spongy. Bathroom was tight!
Don’t disturb the owner before 9 am!
- Kevin (10/5): - Very friendly people and nice clean accommodation
- Raj (9/5): Superb -
- Dlynne (10/5): - Clean. Quiet. Easy on and out.
- Vladimir (10/5): - Clean, comfortable beds, excellent selection of pillows. What more can you ask for?
- Margaret (4/5): - I had high expectations having read the positive reviews. I have spent a week traveling in the Maritimes & stayed at lovely hotels in the same price range. This motel was a disappointment. I just swam at beautiful Providence Bay with its gorgeous sand beach. When I arrived the owner suggested I also go to another spot on Lake Manitou for swimming. Why I did that who knows. After a long 30 min drive on a bad road Green Bay Park was a pocket park with a mud beach & maybe 10 ft in all. First disappointment. I arrived back to motel to shower & all I got was a trickle of either very hot or very cold water. I adjusted the shower head many times. Nothing. The old AC was extremely loud all night long. The owner played loud voice messages on speaker phone next to my room in the afternoon. I heard people’s private information she played loudly. Also the cleaning fluid smell was so strong it made my eyes water. I had to spray my perfume everywhere just to breathe. Finally the in room coffee was tasteless. So my overall experience was poor. I left early in the morning just to escape. I would not recommend the motel.
- Natasha (8/5): - Nice owner
- Anna (8/5): Very good -
- Laurie (10/5): This is a gem of a place to stay - Clean. Really friendly. Helpful

- Katherine (10/5): - We enjoyed everything about this property. Clean, comfortable and cool on one incredibly hot day and night. Great breakfast place close by. Highly recommended!
- Richard (8/5): - Small motel but had everything we needed. Very quiet location.
Friendly , helpful owners.
- Patterson (8/5): Very good - Clean, comfortable Price of rooms a little expensive for off season and no amenities, no ice machine on site
- Camp (7/5): Good - Friendly, helpful staff.
- Falcon (2/5): - They took my money but didn’t open up once I got there. There was a direct phone number to the inn keeper but did not answer.
- Regina (10/5): - Lovely place.
- Jennifer (6/5): - When I asked the owner to recommend things to see on Manitoulin Island she replied that she was not the tourist board, just the inn's owner. She had a map if the island but only a 2024 guide, I found a 2025 guide and helpful persons at the nearby Shell station.
- Elmer (10/5): - Called to make sure that our check in was good
- Nancy (10/5): - A homey stay! The hosts were helpful and friendly, and the place was spotless!
- Varagunan (10/5): - Extremely friendly hostess. Well maintained.
- Freddy (10/5): - Would stay again.
- Linda (10/5): - The lady that greeted us in the lobby was a very nice lady
Room was very clean
Bbq on property great place
- Dennis (10/5): - Friendly owners/staff. Room was clean and up to date. The closest restaurants are in Little Current, but there’s a Freshmart grocery store within a 10 minute walk/few minutes by car.
- Duarte (8/5): - The owners were super friendly. The room was very clean. Only it had a very strong pinesol cleanser like smell. I do recommend it though
