Guest Reviews
- Kim (7/5): Overall a good stay in this location. Host very welcoming. Just unfortunate the loud voices travelled up through the flo - Host was welcoming. Apartment had most of what we needed. Location sites what we were doing in the area and price was great. The sound travelled through the floor so unfortunately loud conservation disturbed us at times. Luckily this was only one of our 2 night stay. Kitchen Cupboard doors very warped.
- Karen (10/5): - It was spacious , had a gas cooker , and plenty lounging space. This was a work trip . It was perfect for that. There’s a lovely garden. Landlady was very welcoming and Zoe the dog . I would go back .
- Peter (9/5): -
- Alan (8/5): Quiet, comfortable and within driving distance of the shops and restaurants - Quiet area, only 10 minutes drive from moate. Has all the facilities you would require fridge, cooker, microwave, coffee making machine, kettle et cetera.. Triton T 90 electric shower. Furniture and fixing a little bit outdated. And worn. (But has brilliant character) definitely not suited for anybody with Mobility issues. The one we were in at the top of the stairs as you can see has multiple steps.
- Anthony (10/5): Relaxing quiet clean and spacious hope to go again in the future - The property was lovely quite relaxing and very clean and cosy Nothing to complain about at all
- orla (8/5): -
- Elisenda (10/5): Acogedor alojamiento.

- Margaret (4/5): We would not use this property again! - Big garden. Allowing our dog to stay. Ample crockery and cutlery. Instructions about finding the property were easy to understand. Plenty of parking.the We found the outside stairs difficult. They were steep, had no handrail and, to us, were dangerous. We would not have used this property had we known this. Broken kitchen doors. Slippery shower floor. We had to drive to Moate to eat (the nearby restaurant was unavailable as it had a function. We had to cancel the second night and did this within the time specified by Booking.com. The owners denied us a refund. There was no welcome when we arrived.
- Scott (10/5): -
- Anita (10/5): Quiet relaxing place, for a few days R&R. Dog friendly - Really enjoyable few days. Dog friendly.
Will recommend for the future. Towels - very small bath towel for each person. Could have been bigger and better quality.
No hand towel. As there was no way to open a window, it was not easy to dry the towels. For 4 nights / 5 days, suggest a change of towels.
- Edoardo (10/5): -
- Frank (8/5): -
- Fabien (9/5): An enjoyable stay. - The bed was confortable. The kitchen is well equipped and spacious. The bathroom is also spacious. Our hosts were very friendly and ready to help.
- Bower (8/5): -
- Nolan (10/5): -
- Cynthia (8/5): Gael went over & above to make me welcome & comfortable🤩thanks so much for looking after me 🤗 - Peaceful🤗 Couldn’t regulate the shower🤣
- Ruth (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carolyn (9/5): A peaceful hideaway in the heart of Ireland - The location was great for exploring Westmeath and surrounding areas. The hosts were wonderful and so helpful, and their dog is lovely and friendly. The kitchen has pretty much everything you'd need, and having a washing machine was a real bonus. There was nothing we didn't like! However, the decor does feel unfinished, but perhaps that was the vibe they're going for. It was unusually warm when we stayed, so we opened the skylights, which are great, but there was a lot of detritus on them from the wonderful trees above, which obscured the view a bit, and came in when the wind blew.
- Tony (8/5): Very good -
- Glen (8/5): Very good -
- Janelle (8/5): Cosy, comfortable and well equipped - Very cosy with everything you could need. Perfect location if you’re interested in touring Westmeath.
- Terrence (7/5): Good - Location was good
- Prue (5/5): Passable -
- Tohill (9/5): Lovely, relaxing stay - Really enjoyed our stay. Lovely comfy bed. Great shower. And though some of the utensils could do with updating, the kitchenette had everything we needed and we were able to cook multiple quality meals. There's a great pub less than ten minutes walk away which had good food, drink, trad music and welcoming locals. Moate village is five mins drive and Athlone 15-20. Plenty of dog friendly cafes and walks in the vicinity. Just a warning if you're short, the single high dining table and chairs were difficult to use (my wife is under 5 foot)
- Abubkr (10/5): The perfect retreat. - The host was friendly, the location was great, and the accommodation was clean and comfy. The view was absolutely unbelievable; so beautiful and peaceful setting. The narrow and bendy rural roads, but honestly if you’re not in a rush, it’s actually an enjoyable drive!
- Prince (9/5): Superb - It was a great place to be The heating wasn't hot enough but I was oky
- Orla (10/5): Exceptional -
- Angela (10/5): Exceptional - We we're looking for somewhere quiet as our daughter was competing over the weekend. It was peaceful and close to the village where there is a lovely pub with amazing food. Would highly recommend .
- Aoife (9/5): Lovely comfortable apartment, very clean and nice quiet location. - Lovely comfortable apartment, very clean and nice quiet location.
- Michel (8/5): Quiet, peaceful which was exactly what i was looking for. The host was welcoming and friendly. - Location is is in the country side. Quiet and peaceful. A lovely spot if you want a place away from hustle and bustle. Very relaxing. The bed was uncomfortable. It was the only downside to an otherwise perfect stay.
- Geraint (9/5): Superb -
- Teymur (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rob (6/5): Pleasant - Kitchen requires some maintenance.
- Andrea (10/5): Nice and - Our room was clean and comfortable. The property was very quiet, which was nice after staying in the city. The bonus for us, the place had a washer which we needed.
- Sarah (10/5): Cozy studio perfect for a stay in the centre of Ireland. - The studio was clean, warm and had all the facilities I needed for my stay. All my expectations of the property were met through the photos, the property description and through the owner herself. Would definitely recommend. Thanks a mil for the stay Gael.
- Matthew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jennifer (8/5): Very good -
- Chloe (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cathy (9/5): Superb - Lovely oasis.. decorated really nicely and comfy bed
- Robyn (7/5): Perfect location - The location was perfect for us …. Great little pub within walking distance which is open a few days a week
- Shanahan (8/5): Comfortable quirky studio apartment, perfect for us. Zoe the terrier was an added bonus. - was an extra welcoming touch.
- Ivan (10/5): Great stay! - We had an amazing stay! The location is great and very quiet! The hosts are so friendly and also welcoming. We recommend the place to anyone who wants to be in a nice a quite place and also it is close to Dublin and Galway!
- Jonathan (8/5): Very good -
- Gaynor (10/5): Lovely wee place. Great value for money - It was lovely and quirky I liked it
- Nicola (8/5): Very good -
- Donna (10/5): Loved this little Gem! Will stay again - Private, well equipped. Nice peaceful area. Nothing
- Karenlmk (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ron (5/5): Disappointed - roomy, had sufficient cooking amenities Given the style of accommodation had a mismatch of furniture including a very high small round table, difficult to sit at and awkwardly placed.. Floral decor over lights was a Nuisance, Tea facilities but no milk. Advertised with washing and dryer but not located in this appt. Separate bathroom but shared hot water system. Very difficult to get up and down driveway. No TV
- Marvi (10/5): Adorable and beautiful loft in Moate - The location was perfect for someone with a car as it was 15-17 mins drive from Athlone city centre and the surrounding area was gorgeous. Without a car, I don't think getting to Athlone would be easy and we didn't explore the area around Mount Temple/Moate so wouldn't know about the convenience of things there.
The loft itself was very clean and fully equipped for everything we could possibly need including a washing machine, microwave, pots, pans, utensils, cutlery, plates and even cooking oil, some herbs and seasonings etc. The studio apartment itself was beautifully decorated and well maintained. The bed was very comfy and cosy as was the room itself. There were even some board games in the cupboard for family fun. There was a fire pit outside that could be used as well as some chairs but didn't get a chance to use that. Loved the extra perk of two cutie dogs to greet you every morning.
Gael the owner was away for the weekend but we communicated through messages and she was absolutely lovely, kept making sure we were having a good time and if we needed anything. She even allowed us a late checkout as we were enjoying our stay so much that we didn't want to leave. The place had more charm, comfort and homeliness than I've experienced anywhere else. We are DEFINITELY staying here again. Nothing.
- Nikol (9/5): Superb -
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amirt (7/5): Good -
- Martyne (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely, cute little apartment. We had an amazing few days, spending time with family, then returning to our cosy space. It’s such a peaceful location, birds singing and two wonderful friendly dogs to greet us. The bed was so comfortable! Would definitely recommend.
- Helene (10/5): Relaxing stay - Super apartment in a lovely village with a pub close by serving delicious food. We loved the apartment and hoping we can come back
- Daniel (10/5): Thank you Gael. - Cozy and beautiful. With a lovely view. Close to food and pub. Close to shopping. Loved this little place had an amazing time. The Restaurant was only open ThursdaySunday. But no worries more option in Moate a short drive away.
- Ryan (10/5): Exceptional - Very lovely owners
Private
Fully equipped kitchen N/a
- Denise (6/5): Lovely, friendly host. It was a very brief stay as just one night but we slept well. That is key. - Very comfy bed. My daughter and I were shattered after all day at a running meet so we needed sleep. That made all the difference. Soundproofing. Everything that happened above happened below, but as the occupants above were having an early night, it worked fine.
- Maria (7/5): Good value for money. Comfortable and quiet -
- Elsie (9/5): Superb -
- Colin (7/5): Good - Nice and colourful and relaxing
- Mario (7/5): Good -
- Mac (10/5): Peace Quiet and Relaxation - The feeling of the place - very relaxed and surrounded by nature. Mount Temple is only a very short walk if you want food and a pub also. Gael is a wonderful host and will always help to make the stay perfect. We even got to enjoy the bonfire area even though it was coming into Winter when we stayed!
The appartmets have everything you need for a nice escape in the country. Nothing
- Agnes (9/5): Superb -
- Mary (8/5): Very good -
- Eileen (8/5): Very good -
- Damien (9/5): Superb -
- Nikhil (10/5): Exceptional -
- Juceline (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gordon (9/5): Lovely. - It was atmospheric. Spacious and well set up.
- Antonia (9/5): A spacious, comfortable and cosy stay, which was perfect for my workcation. - Easy to find with large parking area. Friendly owners, who were available for any issues, but otherwise respected privacy. The accommodation was lovely - spacious, comfortable, warm, shower excellent, kitchen in good working order - really enjoyed coming back there after a long day at work! There is a similar studio flat below - I was in the loft space, which was lovely. Sound-proofing wasn't good between the two flats - TV and talking could be heard - although I was in bed by 9:30!
- Michael (9/5): Very peaceful spot. Spacious, comfortable apartment. - Very peaceful spot. Spacious, comfortable apartment. Nice view into the garden. Helpful hosts with friendly dogs! It was all as expected.
- Jonnydee (10/5): Place was perfect and Gael was helpful and a great host. -
- Sharad (10/5): Flavour of Real Ireland - Lovely village, lovely people, lovely host, lovely setting for a cozy get away holiday. I can live there for a lifetime.
- Noirin (8/5): Very good - Perfect for a walk into Mount Temple and it had everything you need. The cimpliimentary tea and coffee was a lovely surprise and very welcome each morning
- Andy (10/5): - Lovely room with all the facilities you'll need. Really liked the location and a big thank you to Gael the host, for her help. Thoroughly recommend it.
- Roisin (8/5): Comfy beds and lovely hosts - Loved the decoration, the books available, the quietness of the location, and friendliness of the hosts.
- Dylan (9/5): Superb -
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional - I stay in lots of hotels. They all lack soul. This has it by the bucketload.
- Maxwell (8/5): Loki and Niall - Warm friendly welcome. Tidy and quiet studio apartment Would have preferred a dining table and chairs rather than high table and stools provided
- David (5/5): Passable - Price No TV in room small feature but would make a big difference
- Penelope (8/5): Perfect for dog lovers - Bed was fantastic- my days can become very painful and the bed was really great at building me back for the next day. Good shower room though a hand towel as well as a bath towel would have been nice. Great fridge and hot water for washing up. The two dogs were friendly and respectful- no jumping up just tail wagging and showing you to your door. The dogs were very amiable with other guests’ dogs. Gary was very friendly when we eventually met. Kitchen kit was well used. Limited sockets in kitchen area but that may be to avoid tripping the system - it was just a bit faffy switching things around. We arrived to a key in the door and a welcome from the dogs - it felt a little like beauty and the beast with butler Mr Dog and housekeeper Mrs Dog. The toilet seat was inclined to fall when a gentleman was being a gentleman.
- Joseph (9/5): We'll be back - This was our 1st pet friendly stay cation.. and it definitely won't be our last...The Village B&B was the perfect location for touring & visiting around this area. The accommodation was spotless and very comfortable...a few little quirky things made it unique...The hosts pet dog Oscar made himself at home with us and our dogs..And the nearby pub is a must visit for Guinness & Steak sandwich Gardens & Grounds could have been tidier...
- Theresa (8/5): Very good - We loved sharing this space with the owner's dogs. They made us feel like we were part of the family Sadly, the restaurant nearby was closed that evening so we just sampled the Jameson's in the bar.
- Khiana (10/5): Exceptional -
- Leo (10/5): Best experience and felt like at home from both of the owners. - Excellent location
Very convenient
Super nice owners
Great views Cord on the kettle was too short to plug in on the desk.
- Joseph (8/5): Excellent. Peaceful. Convenient as I parked outside the front just a few feet from the door. - Cereal was to hand. Different teas and coffee. The handle in the shower seems broken. May need replacing.
- Adrian (8/5): Very good - Location was ideal for our needs.
Enjoyed friendly Dogs.
- Maria (7/5): Good -
- Doireann (6/5): The Village B&B - Nice space. Bright and airy. Main issue was I was freezing cold and had to get up in the middle of the night and put on clothes over my Pjs, I had a hot water bottle with me and that wasn't enough. The 2nd night was cool even though I had 2 duvets on the bed. That morning I woke I could feel heating on so maybe the timer needs adjustment.
The name B&B implied that breakfast was available, I don't think B&B should be in the name if you're not providing breakfast.
WiFi wasn't working and missed their not being a TV.
- Eileen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nigel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Luke (10/5): Exceptional - Very friendly and comfortable place to stay, would highly recommend!
- Niall (8/5): Very good - Lovely host, pleasant location. No washing machine.
