Guest Reviews
- Thandi (9/5): Excellent and would go back in a heartbeat - Very clean and friendly staff.
The lady who served all the meals and did the cleaning was excellent. She made our stay amazing and I’m just sorry I forgot to ask for her name. All the staff were accommodating and friendly. Nothing
- Ela (9/5): Delightful, we’ll be back - Beautiful building with lovely view from the front and back. Room 2 (twin room) was spacious, clean and everything we needed. The staff are EXCEPTIONAL, friendly, helpful! The breakfast included was brilliant and all in all it was a terrific stay. Nightly recommend despite the slightly tired bathroom suite. The bathroom is a little tired, but very clean and did not affect us at all. The shower was AMAZING. This is the only reason for 9 not 10
- Julie (9/5): A little Gem - Good views, great patio area, car park. Breakfast was very good and tasty. Good view across to the hills. Obviously very popular with the locals, food was delicious. Lovely staff, very clean, good range of tea, coffee and chocolate in room. Only downside was it was in the middle of nowhere, only the pub and a church to see in walking distance, ok if you have the car.
- Tony (8/5): - Lovely location
Exceptional staff Bed was a bit stiff
- Maria (10/5): - Breakfast was delicious!! The cottage was lovely and very clean!! Staff also very friendly

- Grégoire (5/5): - Notre chambre était petite, située juste au dessus du Pub ( qui ferme à 23h) et de la rue. Assez mal isolée.
Le restaurant est bon.

- terry (1/5): It was convenient for a while would not go back - Food was good
The staff were lovely and kind Not enough parking
Shuts to early
Expensive food
Expensive poor quality rooms
Strange layout
Don’t go here
- Philip (4/5): Excellent staff but Cottage 1 is not really suitable for a couple - The staff were exceptional We stayed in Cottage 1 which has a very small bedroom, very difficult to get around and would be better suited to single occupancy with a single bed
- Paul (10/5): Fantastic hotel - Location, staff super friendly and knowledgeable Nothing
- Elizabeth (8/5): Pleasant - Welcoming, lovely bright clean room, enjoyed a lovely lunch when we arrived & my chap thought the Sunday roast was Great! Complements to the chef 😊 The breakfast fell very short, after our lunch the previous day, our expectations were soon dashed🥴 very poor continental spread, no meats, pastries, not even a croissant available, fruit on the menu but not refreshed daily! forcing you to have the cooked option, that my partner said tasted pre cooked & just heated up, breakfast really let them down 🫣
- Charlie (9/5): - Clean, comfortable and great location. Staff very friendly and attentive. Food was very good and would recommend this hotel.

- Chatfield (9/5): Lovely stay with brilliant views and welcoming staff - I liked:-
The warm welcome
The choices of food.on the menu
Staff were all lovely
Reasonable prices
Location
Views
Outside seating
Breakfast choices
Netflix in the room
The fact you can swap breakfast for lunch if you were not going to be there in the morning like me and my wife were. Parking was a bit of a nightmare, having to carry all your luggage up the road as that was the only available space, but that's all
- Claire (10/5): A great stay in lovely location - Lovely setting, friendly staff and nice food Nothing

- Brett (10/5): -
- Marie (8/5): Good food , great place to stay - Friendly staff, good beer 🍻 and food was lovely Nothing not to like, everything was good
- Philip (10/5): -
- Paul (9/5): A great local place to stay and eat. - Location, staff, clean, food was amazing
- Byrne (10/5): Relaxing - Loved everything cozy cottage Could do with more storage to hang clothes, and may be air conditioning in bed room
- Mridul (9/5): -
- levi (10/5): -
- Evan (9/5): Very pleasant and definitely will return. - Perfect little short stay ! Great staff and location. We liked everything. If I’m being trivial the shower took a little while to warm up.
- Bethannie (8/5): -
- Chris (8/5): Would stay here again if I was travelling this way - The hotel is a little out the way, but the meals were outstanding. Service was excellent. Rooms are basic but comfortable. Be aware if you have mobility issues the rooms are up a flight of stairs
- Peter (8/5): Excellent! - Excellent location for visiting Snowdon. We were 40 minutes from Llanberis by car. The staff were so friendly and generous throughout. The cooked breakfast was so filling! Small personal thing - the living room of the cottage was sparsely furnished. Would have appreciated a coffee table and a chair or two.
- Jillian (8/5): Great value for money and very friendly staff. - Staff were great and lovely location. Food was a little disappointing.
- ryan (9/5): -
- Martina (9/5): - Great food and friendly staff. Comfortable room, value for money. Thanks to Anthony for the walking info.
- Pam (10/5): - Hotel was lovely and room was nice and clean and had everything we needed. Food was amazing, best cheesecake ever!!! Staff were amazing, friendly, time to chat and made us feel very welcome. I would definitely recommend staying here.
- Mark (10/5): - They stay was great, accommodation, food and scenery. Andrew and the staff were very helpful. N/A

- Macdonald (5/5): Not as good as the reviews. - The staff were quite friendly and helpful with transport plans. There were sockets by the bed for both plugs and usb ports. The condiments were decent and there were lots of lighting options. Unfortunately the reviews didn't really match up to my expectations the food was not the best to be honest not sure if the food was locally sourced. Which on the reviews it was rated quite well. When we checked in there was excrement in the toilet from before. Not the cleanest place to be honest. Under the bed hadn't been hoovered.
- richard (10/5): Lovely - Everything
- Andres Mesias (10/5): Beautiful views - The location was perfect. I really enjoyed the dinner, especially the ribs and Korean-style chicken wings, as well as the full breakfast. The staff also provided very helpful service throughout my stay The only thing I didn’t like was having to leave.
I wish I could have stayed longer! 😌
- Yvette (10/5): - Welcoming and friendly staff
Excellent food , clean comfortable rooms
Highly recommend
- Amirehsan (10/5): Perfect Stay - I liked everything about the room was so clean and Andrew took care of us perfectly.
- Ryan (10/5): -
- Janine (9/5): Great base for Snowdonia - Great to find somewhere with onsite parking. Staff were very friendly, food was good in the evening and breakfast. Every thing was spotless and in good repair. Shower was really powerful and lots of hot water. Great location for exploring Snowdonia and the coast. The ‘pub’ part was great for a drink in the evening. Nothing to put here.
- Paul (10/5): -
- Deborah (9/5): Marvellous in Maentwrog - Very friendly and helpful staff, great bar with a good selection of drinks. They do pub grub extremely well here, you won’t go hungry. A good breakfast as well. A little bit noisy until closing time but it is a very popular pub and that is part of its character. We found that the blinds in the bedroom let in quite a bit of light from the pubs outside lighting so you are advised to use an eye mask if you need darkness to sleep.
- Tina (10/5): I give this 5 star, the staff treated you like family - The warm friendly staff, the room was warm, extremely clean and comfortable bed, breakfast great choice , we eat in everyday for dinner, lovely menu and cooked perfectly. We were very impressed that we will book again Nothing
- Jones (7/5): Very good - Lovely hotel friendly staff , lovely bar and food area ,
View out the dinning window was stunning. Single glazed windows in the room which gets ABIT cold if any problems, but in all good
- Xavier (9/5): Wonderful place to explore this area of Snowdonia. - Staff were very welcoming. Food was excellent. Nothing
- Amy (8/5): -
- Joanne (10/5): A lovely break - This was our second visit to the Grapes and we will be back! Our room was very comfortable with good facilities and beautiful views. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent and was served quickly after it was ordered.
- David (10/5): -
- Jason (10/5): Fantastic - Great location with great staff
The mountain location is amazing
- Kate (10/5): Excellent hotel with great staff!! - Firstly all of the staff are a credit to this hotel, restaurant and bar. There is nothing that I can fault. There was lots of choice of food and it was home cooked and outstanding. There are no cooking facilities in the cottages but honestly, with the high standard of food in the restaurant you wouldn't want to eat anywhere else. Every member of staff that we met was friendly, helpful, and made us feel very welcome. The area that the hotel is situated in is right in the middle of an area of outstanding natural beauty, and it is in a good location for beaches, local attractions and castles. The cottage that we stayed in was cosy & clean and the bed was very comfortable. Would highly recommend and will definetley be looking at going back to The Grapes hotel!!! I can't fault anything really but the only thing that I would change would be a little fridge in the cottage would have been nice.
- Elizabeth (8/5): - Cute cottage
Bed comfortable.
Area Lounge area was minimal and didn't have a cosy feel to it. Sofa wasn't comfortable.
- Hazel (8/5): Food was amazing. Staff are nice and friendly. - Cozy.
- Nikki (10/5): -
- Louise (10/5): -
- Frank (9/5): I’ve been 3 times now always a great stay - Staff and the view’s brilliant Nothing all good
- Clive (8/5): - Food was excellent. Staff were lovely and very welcoming. Place located in a beautiful area, away from built up, noisy roads. A little more care and attention to detail would not go amiss. Window blind in our room was defective. Toilet seat kept coming loose. Radiator was not particularly effective. Wash basin was cracked.
- Thomas (10/5): -
- Tracey (7/5): Really enjoyed staying here - Food was exceptional Very noisy in rooms and bed uncomfortable
- Luke (8/5): -
- Wendi (8/5): Would recommend the Grape Hotel and it is dog friendly. - The location was great. The staff were lovely and very welcoming and friendly. The food was good and reasonable priced. Our daughter stayed in room 1 (which was lovely) and then cottage 1 which again was more modern and very clean. The accommodation (cottage 2) was not to my liking (layout) and was a little dated. The bathroom needed updating but it was clean.
- Rob (7/5): - Great staff service was excellent location and price was good overall enjoyed our stay We stayed in main building so only a door separated us secure but not soundproof 7/10
- Craig (10/5): A fantastic break can’t wait to return - The staff were absolutely fantastic couldn’t be more helpful, the location & accommodation were perfect.
- Stefan (8/5): A location with a classic ambience. - The staff members were very friendly, the location was convenient, the bed was comfortable, and the facilities were satisfactory. The location would likely be excellent during the summer months; despite the compact size of the rooms, the cottage itself was pleasant, featuring a small reception area. The room's size is somewhat compact, which is understandable given that it is an older cottage. However, for a 4-star rating, one might expect additional amenities such as slippers, a bathrobe, and more personal care items. There was no wardrobe, and some less accessible areas had accumulated a significant amount of dust.
- Aksana (9/5): -
- Hayley (9/5): Stunning area and a lovely welcoming hotel - The building was awesome as was the location. Lovely welcoming atmosphere and the room was great. Staff were amazing and the food was fantastic Nothing
- Karen (8/5): The location was good, the food was excellent & the staff were very helpful & friendly. - The staff & the food was great. Cottage could do with a up grade.
- Chris (8/5): -
- Stuart (9/5): -
- jayne (9/5): Lovely place, staff and food - Location was great and brekkie was excellent
- Andrew (8/5): Great location great hotel easy access to north wales and Anglesea - All staff were very informative and very helpful The weather
- Joshua (10/5): -
- Michael (10/5): Perfect - Convenient for walks, sightseeing and especially enjoyed the meals. Nothing
- James (9/5): - Kind of sort of everything. Although it was a very brief (work) stay so not much opportunity to enjoy anyything.
I arrived very late, and left very early.
I did have time for breakfast. That was awesome.
The room itself was not at all like a typical hotel room. It had bags of character (stone walls...). It was warm and comfy, so I wanted for nothing. Lol. The Welsh weather usually has room for improvement
- Isabel (10/5): -
- Renata (10/5): Beautiful one night cottage stay - Cottage number 1. Full of character, two floors, cute, cosy, modern, quirky. We loved it. Staying one night in Dec. Zip world Lechwedd 13 minutes drive where we went for a Christmas experience. All the best, very enjoyable stay! Nothing
- Deborah (10/5): -
- Lewis (8/5): -
- Anna (10/5): -
- David (10/5): The staff were very accommodating for us which made our stay perfect we couldn’t recommend this hotel enough! - Very tidy property with good parking right outside the door, great selection of refreshments provided with a fresh jug of water and a pre filled kettle. Nothing
