Guest Reviews
- Nola (10/5): Perfect, highly recommended. - Absolutely amazing property, in a great location.
Could not fault & would definitely recommend.
Fitted out with everything you could need đ. Could not fault.
- Tracy (10/5): - Sealladh Sona is absolutely stunning! It a little piece of heaven situated opposite the Caledonian canal.
Christina and Jim, the property owners were very warm and welcoming.
There was a lovely starter hamper, that also welcomed us.
The property is beautifully and tastefully decorated throughout. Its so clean and tidy.
Everything is thought of to make your stay feel so relaxed. The beds are so comfortable.
The property is within walking distance to Inverness and beautiful surrounding areas.
If I could give more than 5 stars I would, we have stayed in many places but this is far by the best property we've stayed at. We will be back.
- Rebecca (10/5): I wish we had more time and could have stayed longer. - A lovely, cozy, comfortable space featuring all the special touches. The owners clearly take great care in providing an exceptional holiday accommodation experience.
- Ulrika (10/5): - Rent, lugnt lÀge men ÀndÄ nÀra city, hemtrevligt, enastÄende frukost.
- Daniel (10/5): - A beautiful place great people
- Gerard (10/5): Treated like royalty - One of the best B&Bs we ever stayed in. A 5 star experience with terrific hosts. Nothing to dislike
- Yvonne (8/5): - Eigenaar/kok komt tijdens ontbijt een praatje maken en geeft 1001 waardevolle, toeristische tips.
Ligt op loopafstand van het centrum.
- Jill (10/5): - Jim and Christina were wonderful hosts. The room was very comfortable, and a gorgeous view of the water outside. It was very quiet at Sealladh Sona, and we really enjoyed our three night stay here. It was about a mile walk to the main area of Inverness, which made this a perfect location! There was also pleanty of parking either directly in front of the house, or just down the street in a lot. We had a couple early mornings, and Jim and Christina were kind enough to pack us to go Breakfasts. The one breakfast we ate at the B&B was absolutely delicious! We definitely would love to stay here again next time we're visiting Inverness!
- Margaret (10/5): Felt right at home - Beautiful spot and exceptional in every detail Nothing
- Stefan (10/5): Eines der besten B&B's!!! - Alles!
- Siego (8/5): - Sehr freundliche Vermieter, sehr gutes FrĂŒhstĂŒck Etwas weiter weg vom Zentrum
- John (10/5): Good people and a very nice place to stay. I would stay there again. - The owners were excellent. The breakfast was excellent. We all enjoyed our time there. I would stay again if I am in town.
Soo freundliche Vermieter

- fabienne (8/5): Tres bien - Dans l ensemble tres satisfaisant.
A part cela , bel emplacement, tres bon petit déjeuner, hotes agreables.
- Holzapfel (9/5): Very pleasant stay, a quiet location near locks and good for walking. - Best breakfast we had anywhere on our GB trip. Parking a bit tricky and a little bit too far out of town.
- Claudia (8/5): A great place to stay for a couple of days in Inverness. - Quiet location with a walk to the town centre. The breakfast was very good.
- Zaytseva (10/5): Great stay! - We had a great time at Jim and Christina's place. They were very welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was superb and the room was very comfortable. Just keep in mind that the place is about a 20-30 minute (very pleasant) walk to the city center, but for us, this was just fine. Everything was great.
- Khen (9/5): Superb -
- Malcolm (9/5): Just what we were expecting. - Breakfast excellent, ideal location for the places we wished to visit while still in a scenic and peaceful setting.
Hosts very knowledgeable and helpful. Difficult to find
- Sally (10/5): A beautiful property with amazing breakfasts. - A true bed and breakfast. Immaculately presented. The most beautiful breakfasts. Perfect hostsâŠ.with lots of great travel tips. Lovely location by the canal. Just a minor thing but the window blind still lets in lots of light making it difficult to sleep when there is street light and so much light in summer.
- Sally (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elizabeth (10/5): Excellent - Fabulous location on the side of the canal, 15 minute walk to town centre.
Christine and Jim very friendly and helpful with local knowledge.
Breakfasts excellent.
Room very comfortable. Nothing.
- Deborah (9/5): Superb -
- James (10/5): Great homely stay which pits overpriced hotels in Inverness to shame. - Lovely quiet location but easy walk into city centre. Great room with comfy bed and plenty of space. Excellent breakfast choice freshly made. Christina and Jim were great hosts and made us feel at home.
- Gene (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect location for visiting Inverness No problems!
- Joanne (10/5): Exceptional - A very warm welcome. Lovely people that own this . Would come back. Beautiful stay . Excellent home .Excellent quality breakfast, excellent room. Beautiful short walk to the centre. Could not ask for any more. Come and book a room. You will not be disappointed. Better service you will get at a hotel
- Neil (9/5): Excellent short break - Excellent location, a 20 minute walk from the centre, it was relaxing, peaceful and exactly what I wanted. Very picturesque on the Caledonian canal, lots of walks in the area The house to a high standard, and was very clean, comfy room, with good quality products and all amenities required. Bed was very comfy, and all I could hear was birds singing in the morning as sunset rose on the waters - incredible view. Owners were perfect hosts, very friendly, informative and down to earth. helping whenever was possible. Breakfast was excellent, a good choice and the cooked English exceeded my expectations and set me up for the day, I well enjoyed - compliments to the chef. Almost everything was within walking distance from the centre, cafes, coffee shops, restaurants, shops, buses and train station, although there were buses we walked as it was good weather and an enjoyable walk. Would highly recommend for a relaxing, peaceful break, and I would definitely book again if in that area. Thank you Jim and Christina. Nothing, all was perfect - I think the warm sunny weather also made a difference, so the only reason I did not give a 10, though nothing to do with the property.
- Alan (9/5): Convenient for a one night stay - A very nice room on the ground floor, in a quiet location overlooking the canal. Spacious shower room.
Clean and comfortable. Lovely hosts with lots of local knowledge and excellent breakfast Parking was available opposite the property. However the space was limited and it was necessary to reverse along a private road when leaving the property. A large vehicle could find this a challenge. Guest should be informed that alternative parking was available, prior to arrival at the property.
- Michael (10/5): Sealladh Sona was our FAVORITE accommodations on your Scotland trip! - Jim and Christina were wonderful hosts! They were happy to suggest things to do and places to go and even lend us a road atlas. The delicious breakfast was cooked to order and made with fresh local ingredients. Our room was large and comfortable with a nice view of the canal. The location was perfect! We were able to walk into downtown Inverness and to the Ness Islands Park with ease.
- Scott (10/5): Welcoming B&B with good amenities and a great breakfast - Christina & Jim are very welcoming and eager to help their guests to explore Inverness. The B&B is located on a side canal of the River Ness which is about a 30 minute walk away (& the city center with all its restaurants and attractions). Breakfast was ordered the night before with hot food not cooked until we sat down. It included a range of offerings for everyone.
One of us choose porridge both days and loved it so much she ordered the oats as soon as we arrived back at home. And the full Scottish was great - did miss the Haggis though :-) Bottomline here: excellent, excellent, excellent. Can't think of anything.
- Barnett-ashworth (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jennifer (10/5): Cozy comfortable room, wonderful breakfast, lovely hosts with great recommendations! - Lovely stay, hosts were so kind and gave us wonderful recommendations for things to do in the area, as well as places to eat. Cozy room, large bathroom, very nicely appointed. Breakfast was amazing! So nice that you get to choose your meal for the next day so you get exactly what you want. Everything was wonderful! I will say that if you are driving yourself, it can be a bit tricky to find as the sat nav wasn't really cooperating with us!
- Samantha (10/5): A beautiful B&B in a beautiful town. - I would highly recommend this property. The hostess, Christine, was so welcoming. The breakfast was absolutely brilliant. On the morning of my marathon, because of the early start, there was a breakfast pack waiting for me. Room was cosy and had everything we needed & more. Because there are only three rooms available at this B&B, it was quiet & peaceful. A short walk into town, which I managed even after running a marathon! Lots of little extra touches that made it a home from home. Wi-Fi was excellent. Loved seeing the boats on the canal. Everything was perfect.
- DOUGLAS (10/5): - Hosts were wonderful. Just under a mile walk to downtown Inverness, but our hosts recommended the two mile walk along the canal and across the Ness Islands.
- Travelbug91 (10/5): Exceptional - + amazing hosts so friendly, welcoming and caring
+ lovely location right by the Caledonia Canal
+ parking
+ lovely breakfast with many options to choose from
+ very comfy bed
The property might be a bit far from the center of Inverness.
Please, do not mind the walk into town as it is fairly short and very nice after a hearty dinner.
Thank you so much for this great stay! - the bathroom was a bit small and the shower as well (one had to duck to go in) but it was rather amusing.
- Jodi (9/5): As advertised, and an outstanding B&B for the right couple - Beautiful, spotlessly clean, very friendly hosts - and beautiful breakfast cooked for us. Recommendations for dinner, and a lovely and easy walk to central Inverness for dinner. Lovely view over the canal. Room very small, and no sitting area so we were on top of each other - host did point out it was a Bed and breakfast, but most Iâve stayed in have at least a sofa or sitting room. Wasnât advertised so nothing against them but for those traveling with big suitcases, worth noting. Also lots of rules about what you can and canât do - I get they are worried about spillages but felt bit like we were in school.
- Geno (10/5): Great location - Very clean room and comfortable bed. Breakfast was delicious and host very nice. Great location! Nothing
- Fay (9/5): Stayed 2 nights , left early in the morning for bus tour , Christian packed ou a take away breakfast - Owner very friendly breakfast was really nice , presented really well Nothing
- Michael (10/5): One night in Inverness. - Very nice b&b , great room and shower ,very comfortable bed and a lovely breakfast the next morning.
Lovely hosts and car parking right outside, we would definitely stay there again if in the area.
- Monica (9/5): Excellent. - The host were very kind and welcoming . Very good breakfast, very clean and eveerything was excellent . View from the room was lovely. A bit far from city center,
- Michal (9/5): Very cosy bnb with amazing hosts and a great breakfast - Location, amazing hosts, super comfortable room
- Bridget (10/5): Very lovely stay. Excellent breakfasts beautifully presented. - Great location along the canal. Very smart and clean . Easy walk into Inverness . Nothing to dislike!
- Dee (9/5): Superb - The breakfast was fantastic and the room very comfortable. Although the location was very peaceful beside the canal, it was a bit of a walk into town.
- Jonah (10/5): Cosy and relaxing stay - Jim and Christina were wonderful hosts. Jim gave us a ride into town to get our bus because the taxi had taken so long! Christina helped my wife find a pharmacists to be prescribed some antibiotics.
The home was clean, we loved the location (quiet, an easy walk into town and an even easier bike ride), the breakfast was superb. Just a really lovely time. Everything was as expected. Therefore, there was nothing we didn't like.
- Elaine (9/5): Very hospitable and comfortable stay - Excellent hosts, very knowledgeable and helpful.
Excellent breakfast!
- Jerryetta (9/5): It was an enjoyable stay. - Best breakfast of our entire 25 day trip. Itâs an easy but long walk into the town center.
- Tony (10/5): Excellent. Outstanding location next to Caledonian canal - Excellent well appointed room and breakfast room and food. Hosts very helpful and friendly Nothing.
- Christine (10/5): - It was a lovely place and the breakfast was superb! Parking was a bit wonky but you could park nearby so as to avoid the tight parking spots. Very friendly and helpful owners. Highly recommend!!
- Claudio (10/5): High quality bnb, with so many excellent facets. - Very hospitable hosts, giving lots of local info, keen to help. Christina has the place very well organised, really nice room, good space, comfortable bed. The breakfast was excellent, and Jim followed up with an interest in what guests are doing. Great location on the Caledonian canal, outside your door, and it was interesting to see a couple of boats in the locks. Probably best to have a car, and parking easily available. Nothing.
- Michael (10/5): - Great breakfast. Very nice accommodations. Hosts were awesome people.
- Marc (10/5): I would stay again - Breakfast was amazing & both Jim & Christina were lovely people. Darker Curtains
- Sandra (10/5): Exceptional - Clean, friendly hosts good breakfast. Large comfy bed.
- Peta (10/5): An excellent choice for a stay in Inverness. - Lovely owners, comfortable, quiet room, spotlessly clean, quality fittings, great location on pretty canal with walk to town centre. Great breakfast. Loved everything about it.

- Kenny (10/5): Exceptional -
- Georgios (9/5): Great B&B with very kind owners - This B&B is a nice 20min walk from the center of Inverness. Owners were very kind, the room was lovely and breakfast excellent.. Cant think of anything
- Stewart (10/5): Very comfortable with a few extra luxuries. - Sealladh Sona is in a quiet location with a lovely views of the canal. Jim and Christina were very welcoming, and the rooms were well equipped with very comfortable beds, and good sized ensuites. There was a good choice for breakfast - worth coming just for the fresh fruit with nuts and seeds and yoghurt, and Tunnocks Teacakes in the hospitality tray (my favourites).
- Riley (10/5): Amazing B&B - This was by far the cutest, friendliest and most welcoming B&B my husband and I have stayed in. The couple that runs it were absolutely lovely and felt like we were staying at a family members home. The rooms were clean and accommodating. And the breakfast was amazing! It was about a 15-20 minute walk from Inverness city center, and that was perfect. We will 100% be back again if we are ever in the area.
- Line (9/5): Beautiful, comfy room in a lovely B&B at the canal - Friendly hosts, great breakfast, lovely location at the canal, 20 min walk to city center. Love the interior! Easy to find, parking right outside. Large room, comfy bed. WiFi, Netflix etc. No. Highly recommend!
- Robert (8/5): - Clean and comfortable. Very welcoming staff. Be cautious in summer months. No A/C and rooms can be quite warm.
- Lillyh. (9/5): Superb - Lovely Breakfast, bed very comfortable
- Julie (10/5): Great place to stay! Many things to do in this central location of beautiful Inverness, Scotland!!! - Our host, Christina & Jim were WONDERFUL to visit with! Their B & B is exceptionally clean, beautifully decorated, & makes you feel right at home! Our breakfast was EXCELLENT & served to us with smiles! We walked to Inverness from our room to check out town. If we return to Scotland, we will definitely stay again! LOVED everything about our stay here!
- Luis (10/5): For a cozy stay not far from Inverness centre - Big sleeping room. Well equipped and beautiful decoration. Fantastic breakfast with many options. Lovely helpful hosts. Flawless.
- Matt (10/5): Excellent. - Everything ! Nothing !
- Karen (10/5): Christina and Jim went out of there way to make our stay exemplary - The location is right on the Caledonia canal and the views are stunning. With boats going past our window but not intrusive we went for walks along the canal and enjoyed the sights. It was within walking distance of shops and food places. The breakfasts provided by Jim were excellent produce and expertly cooked with a homely warm attitude. The both went above and beyond for me after my operation i honestly canât say enough good things about s There was nothing that we didnât like about the property or location
- John (10/5): Great home from home - Itâs a very lovely place beautifully decorated, superbly clean with an excellent location, great friendly owners who are very helpful and fabulous breakfast. Nothing
- Chinmoy (9/5): Itâs was a plesent stay at Inverness đ - Itâs location is superb (near the canal) & just 15min walk to the city centre. Itâs quite & peaceful. The breakfast was lovely & sumptuous so thank you đđ» As suggested to the host the pillows on the bed were are a bit hard (which probably kept me awake till 2am)..(as itâs personal choice) & surprising no food đ«was allowed in the room đ but you could take wine đ· & maybe some crisps. I felt the price was a bit steep for this B&B but never mind location was superb.
- David (10/5): Fantabulous - The owners of the house. Were. So delightful. , and. 100 percent. Interested in pleasing their guests. .. the. Breakfast. Was. Amazing and organic. And. Of the best quality. ! We loved. It !
- Erica (10/5): A beautiful family run bed and breakfast. - The property was very inviting and warm. This includes the beautiful staff who made our stay very comfortable. The location along the canal was beautiful. There were also a lot of small touches in the room that made it feel homely.
- Lorraine (10/5): Very nice place, easy walking to the center of town. - Very close to town, hosts were extremely kind and helpful. Very nice place. Great value.
- Mark (9/5): Superb -
- Kevin (10/5): Exceptional - Best value of anywhere we stayed on our Scotland Trip. Hosts were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was outstanding.
- Robyn (10/5): A truly fabulous stay. - The breakfast was amazing. The people were better than the breakfast. Iâd definitely recommend this B&B to everyone. Truly the best. Aaah, nothing to complain about, but, I wouldâve preferred a ground floor room - but thatâs because my mobility is compromised- nothing to do with Sealladh Sona - I didnât let them know.
- Steve (10/5): The perfect place to stay in Inverness! - We had a beautiful, spacious room and were taken care of so well.
Breakfast was superb, and it's in a wonderful location on the canal.
- Colleen (10/5): - This B&B was amazing. The hosts were kind and hospitable and accommodating, the rooms were well appointed with all that you would need. It was a great stay I recommend it to anyone.
- Kirsten (9/5): Superb - Very good breakfast and very very helpful hosts (Christina and Jim). One of the nicest view of our trip. A bit of walk to the City Center, but as we were on a hiking holiday, that was ok.
- Phil (10/5): Wonderful family owned and operated Bead and Breakfast - Wonderful B&B overlooking the Caledonian Canal. Amply sized rooms with en suite bathroom, with fabulous power showers. No hot food in the evening, but this is very clear when booking. Inverness is a short fifteen minute walk away, with plenty of hot food opportunities. Very good breakfast served in the morning and extremely welcoming hosts, made us feel right at home from the the time we arrived. No complaints about the stay.
You should know that this is on the banks of a working canal, so there may occasionally be some boats and yachts pass by the windows. The tow path on the canal can also get a little busy, with traffic to and from the nearby boat yard, but this does not detract at all from this lovely little B&B.
- Lorraine (9/5): Superb - It was beside the canal, breakfast was a time to talk with our hosts and other guests, it had few rooms, it was totally renovated in very good taste, convenient parking and we could walk into town. Nothing
- Mark (10/5): Excellent, sorry to leave. - From the time Christina greeted us with such warmth, we felt at home. The room was well beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. The bed was so comfortable and the attention to detail was superb. We had everything we needed and more.
The breakfast was to die for, the best we have had in a long time. There was nothing to dislike.
- Suzie (10/5): Perfect stay, wish i could stay longer! - Itâs perfect! Feels like Christina had a hospitality background coz everything about our stay was too notch! Breakfast was exceptional too. Very close to the city center - iâm 5â1 with short legs and took me about 20 mins only :) Nothing, really :)
- Giulia (10/5): Lovely couple of days in Inverness - Room very clean and complete with different kind of soap and shampoo/conditioner
We had free access to Netflix in our room
The breakfast was excellent
Nice view on the canal
Our host was very nice and she even let me borrow her aftersun cream because I got unexpectedly sunburn on the day before on a trip to the Isle of Skye The walk into town was a bit of a trek but it was very easy to find our way around town
- Gordon (10/5): We were greeted by Christina a delightful host. The accommadation and location as lovely as she is. - The location was stunning and unexpected and the breakfast was delicious. Could not be faulted. We do not think anything more needed to to be done.
- Margaret (10/5): What a fantastic find! - Location was perfect, by the canal and while close to the centre, it was away from the busy noise of the city. Lovely yachts and boat sail by.
Breakfasts were delicious; freshly cooked with a choice of anything we wanted as well as beautiful fresh fruits. I couldnât fault this B&B - and weâve stayed at lots! Squeaky clean with quality fittings, beautiful linen and comfortable beds. Warm welcoming hosts who made our stay particularly enjoyable.
- Doris (10/5): Excellent Inverness bed & breakfast - I haven't had the pleasure of experiencing a truly delightful bed & breakfast such as Sealladh Sona in many years. The hosts, Christina and Jim, are a wonderful and friendly couple who made us feel welcome in their home. The breakfast is outstanding and filling, with many options and plenty of fun conversations on the side. The room (doon stairs) is very clean, spacious and everything you could want or need is provided. Location-wise, Sealladh Sona is within walking distance of Inverness center - also great to walk off those extra calories. Parking in front of the property is great as well. The only thing I regret is that we didn't stay longer at this wonderful b&b. Thank you for everything, Christina & Jim.
- Haley (10/5): Absolutely loved our stay and highly recommend - Jim and Christina were FABULOUS hosts! Incredibly charming, great location, clean and friendly facility, outstanding breakfast N/a
- Laura (10/5): Exceptional - The hostess was wonderful!
- Bing (10/5): Delicious breakfast presented beautifully and meticulously - freshly cooked breakfast with wonderful hosts
well decorated throughout
fans in the room for the hot weather
- Roslyn (10/5): Lovely B&B, great location, delish made to order brekky. Personalised service provided by Christina and Jim âŠ.. than - Location. Personalised stay. Lovely owners. Comfy bed and facilities. helped with directions and sightseeing ideas. All fabulous
- Greg (10/5): Top stop :) - Really warm welcome. Terribly good breakfast. and very good mastress :)
- Donna (10/5): - Beautiful B&B with great hosts. Breakfast was wonderful.
- Gail (10/5): A delightful stay - The hosts are exceptionally friendly and helpful with suggestions for itineraries and restaurants. The room is spacious and beautifully decorated. The delicious, beautifully presented breakfast is the icing on the cake. nothing
- Mark (9/5): Lovely Caledonian Canal location. Great accommodation, great local hosts, great breakfast. - Lovely spot by Caledonian Canal. Close to locks. Nice walks along the canal. 15 min. walk into Inverness town centre with choice of restaurants, bars, pubs etc. Cosy B&B. Nicely done in my opinion
Arrived on a motorbike. Host immediately directed me park m/c (max of 2) in garage with his motorbike. Being a local host s had great knowledge of best areas and routes to ride across Scotland . cafe, pubs, restaurants etc. Parking at front of B&B for cars or m/c's. Area is quite and B&B located in small dead end road so no one really has reason to go in to road unless a resident
Comfortable room, comfy bed, ^ great breakfast. Friendly and chatty hosts. Happy to give recommendations on things to do places to go (or not go).
Really throughly enjoyed our stay and one of the accommodation highlights of our 10 day tour of Scotland and we stayed in some nice places.
Room we had was downstairs and had everything we needed.
Would happily return No real complaints or dislikes. Ticked all our boxes. Only minor topic was the shower did not drain well so had to have shower on very low.
