Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (8/5): - 安いし市街地から近いし、安全なので泊まる分には十分満足。
部屋が気になるくらい汚かったのとシャワー、お湯が出ない。
ドライヤーが無かったことは残念でした。
クーラーは効いてて、ベットも広く快適でした。
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good value for money. Close to markets. Staff helpful.
- Madison (2/5): Don’t stay here - Do yourself a favor and do not stay here. There were ants in our room, gross sheets, the “gym” is totally inoperable and covered up by boxes, dirty pool that is small, didn’t actually pick us up from the airport or take us there even after multiple conversations and a phone call and email, and the shower drain didn’t work. Couldn’t WAIT to get out of this place.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I read various reviews about this property both positive and negative. I decided to go with it anyway.
First off, I did not get an airport pick up as the hotel never received my request. I was actually okay with that and understood it from their point of view. I had other issues and not with them. The property is a tad dated but I was okay with this. I love the big, comfortable bed which if you travel to South East Asia...can be like a "Flintstone" bed. This was excellent. There was plenty of hot water. The a/c worked really well. The other big plus for me was: It was quiet! I will stay there again. They had a great pool which I did not use. It looked perfectly clean. The best part is the staff. They were all super!!
- Jae Ho (10/5): Five stars - Awesome stay at Fancy Boutique Villa. Highly recommend it to anyone who wants a clean, affordable, and quiet place to chill yet want to be near the pub street and nice restaurants. The staff there are super nice and helpful.
- SHINGO (10/5): コスパ最高。 - スタッフも素晴らしく快適な滞在になりました。
- Verified traveler (4/5): -
The room was not clean one day. I went out 4:30 am and came back 4:00 pm and was not clean. When I asked to clean it the personal told me "What do you need?" So I think is part of the basics I am waiting from a hotel
The towels were not changed.
The quality of the food in the breakfast is quite low.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel in a good, quiet location - This hotel is close to Pub Street and the night market, but tucked in a side street so it's quiet and easy to sleep. Lots of places to eat nearby, as well as plenty of ATMs and supermarkets etc.
The staff were nice and helpful, and organised the airport pick up (included in the price) quickly. We also booked a tour through them which went well.
The room was clean and in pretty good condition, a bit of wear and tear visible. The hotel pool was small but still nice to cool off in after a hot day seeing temples.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Staff บริการดีมาก - พูดไทยได้ พี่คนขับตุ๊กตุ๊กบริการสุภาพ ตรงเวลา ทำเลอยู่ในซอยมืดไปหน่อย ควรระวังตอนกลางคืน
- ANDREY (6/5): Breakfast is very slow. - Room is quite comfortable and spacious. Owner was very kind to buy new baby crib for us. Location is perfect - close to night market and restaurants, but very quiet. Disadvantages - road to hotel doesn't have asphalt and in quite bad condition.
Breakfast was the main surprise - it requires about an hour to get it after the order.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great location and price - The place was great for the price everyone was helpful and the location was great. The dirt road really didn't bother us. The pool was small but it was still great on hot days. My boyfriend loved the fish pedicure. Overall we loved it and you can't beat the price and location
- Stuart (8/5): - The night market and Pub street are a short walk from the hotel, but you must walk down a couple of small, dark, dirt roads to get there. It did not bother me, but some people may not like it at night.
- Hyung Cheol (10/5): Good Cost-Effectiveness - This hotel is very good cost-effectiveness and kind staffs.
Also good location to the pub street and night market.
- DP (8/5): Hidden away small villa hotel, with nice pool! - Overall a good 2x 2nights stay. Got different room for 2nd stay, both were quite nice.
Staff friendly enough, sometimes miscommunication re organising taxis, other than that fine.
Breakfast was a little slow (group of 13) but when some had to leave without breakfast to catch a bus ... hotel ended up bringing it to the bus stop for us (unexpected suprise!).
Location was near the night markets and supermarket plus loads of street food.
Easy place to walk around to explore.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great room with all that you need for a comfortable stay. Staff could organise any thing you wanted to do and were always friendly. Had a great time here and liked relax from the heat in the small pool.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Highly recommended. - This is an excellent value for money hotel close to everything with great service. Our room was modern, light and clean. The hotel was small and personal with lovely staff willing to help with anything we needed. We were met at the airport by tuk tuk provided by the hotel and our lovely and safe driver, Wichea, became our driver for the rest of our stay. The pool was small but tranquil and relaxing after a busy day exploring the temples. There was also a fish foot massage pond at the hotel. The hotel was in a quiet side street with a large well stocked supermarket at one end and the popular night markets at the other. Breakfast was simple but nice. Overall we were very pleased with our choice of hotel.
- Lim (8/5): Muddy road to hotel when raining. - Generally OK. I give 2 upon 5.
- Dani (4/5): Bed experience - You get what you paid for. Breakfast is really minimum. No bathroom doors. Even the main door do not fully closes. Some rooms smells mold and some smell aware specially at afternoon.
We had one afternoon that the sanitation came to spray insecticide against the mosquitoes and the owner and staff didn't care to let the guests aware of that. We woke up with a huge noise and asfixiating smoke all over the room. I had a immediate headache and stomach pain. When i was finally able to get our of the room the staff was all outside the hotel. When i asked what was going on and why i wasnt informed of the situation, the staff and owner just smile and said "we had no time to tell people" and we had no apologies from the staf or owner. Really poor custom service.
- Paul (10/5): a cute boutique hotel close to the night market - Great hotel. Loved it
- Hayley (8/5): Nice convenient hotel - Nice hotel, simple facilities but great location. Room was clean and tidy, small pool to cool down after a hot day,
- Stephanie (8/5): - When we arrived the walkway was being relayed. There was red sand all over the place. It didn't really bother as such but trying to drag your case over it was a nightmare. I got talking to the new owner who explained the reservation and apologised for the state of the place. It has the potential to be a great hotel though. Breakfast choice was a bit lacking in variety. Staff were very helpful when needed. Cleaning staff had left our door wide open and forgot to close it. Our door was right by the pool and other guests and builders were around. The manager apologised but that doesn't change the fact that our belongings were on display especially when the safe isn't attached to anything. The bathrooms need to have doors put on. Luckily me and my friend are used to each other haha.
- Aminul (8/5): Didn't get the Villa Suite we booked - As the title suggests, we didn't get the Villa Suite because apparently they double booked but they confirmed we booked earlier and accepted it was their mistake.
They then ended up giving me a room which tiny and I was not happy with. Upon my request and several demands later they agreed to a bigger and better room but had to wait until 2pm for this (we arrived at 11am). We ended up staying in the Deluxe Suite Room VIP 2004. It was fairly big so I was happy.
We were also promised airport pickup. Confirmed this via email 2 weeks before and once 1 Week before and then again the night before also, knowing that they bailed on another guest too after reading a review, and I did not want to experience the same. Upon arrival at the airport we waited an hour. Nothing!! No one turned up. Had to make my own way to the hotel! They then offered a tuk tuk to the airport when I left.
The Deluxe Suite was clean. Good shower. Good bed. Everything was good except the A/C which was not effective in keeping the room cool. The bathroom is walk-in so has no doors so might be an issue if your're staying with someone other than your other half.
Pool was an added benefit. Someone else mentioned it was cloudy but during my stay it was clean and clear as day.
Breakfast was nice.
Very close to Night Market and Pub Street.
Friendly staff.
I'd stay there again although it I didn't get the room I booked.
Oh LOTS of mosquitoes too :) be prepared to get munched by them hah Deet does help.
- Byron (6/5): A little rough around the edges. - We got a good deal on this place so we didn't expect too much. When we arrived there were three immediate problems. The pool water looked rather still (meaning not filtering), the door to the bathroom of our room was missing and replaced by a shower curtain that didn't reach the floor and there was a slow leak from the ceiling in the bathroom.
The pool got fixed but the others, although we complained, were not.
Not a bad place if you get a good deal.
- Tamsin (6/5): Excellent location with wonderful staff but... - The location of Fancy Boutique is great, easy walking distance to Pub Street and Psa Char & Angkor Wat night markets. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The pool is small but great to come back to in the heat. The room itself we were in 2002 is nice, king bed which was firm but comfortable. Bathroom is well presented however the shower was too low and sat strangely in its fixture so we had to adjust each time we showered. The power went off twice whilst showering which leaves you in complete darkness, on check out day this was at 0930 and didn't come back on (though they do warn this can happen & I don't think it can be helped). If you are going to stay here we would recommend a big can of fly spray and a bug diffuser for the wall, we went through a big can in 4 days due to the amount of mosquitoes in our room they come in through the cracks around the door, as there is no mosquito net we made sure we covered ourselves with repellent before we slept also. It is worth noting that our room was by the pool and it was very hot mid to late thirties during our stay which I am sure contributed to the amount of mosquitoes we encountered. Lastly the tuk tuk drivers at the hotel are very friendly however will overcharge set the price before you go or have a member of staff with you when negotiating. In saying all of this we would stay again, we loved our time, the staff are super, the location fab and we got our stay at a good rate we just think it's good to be prepared:-)
- Ash (10/5): Great small hotel 5 mins walk from tourist streets - Great stay, had a swimming pool, wifi worked fine, staff were really friendly - they book our ankor wat driver (price was same as everywhere). Room was nice, door a bit stiff and a only shower curtain for a dpor into the modern and nice bathroom. Location was down a nice quiet street only 5 mins walk from the tourist areas. Great stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great staff! - Tuck tuk driver they arranged for me was great. As a senior traveling alone it's nice when the staff acts interested in how things are going
- Geoff (6/5): Just OK - Staff were very pleasant and attended promptly to any issues. Breakfast choice was limited but what ever you ordered was freshly cooked. Swimming pool appeared a little cloudy but people were using it.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Big room and tasty breakfast. - The room was really nice and right by the pool. Although, pool didn't look very clean.
Breakfast staff were lovely and good food.
Staff English was limited but okay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Location spot on - Lovely room. Pool great after a hot day. Our TUK TUK driver was so good(hotels) . Fancy boutique is in a great location, nice and quiet at night but walkable to markets and pub street (less than 5 minutes). Will definitely stay again. Loved it.
- Lucy (8/5): Great location and modern facilities - Great location, close to great restaurants and the night market. Hotel organised our trip to Ankor Wat and it was fantastic value. The pool area is small but nice to cool off, the room was cleaned daily and the surrounding areas were well maintained and modern. There is no actual door in the bathroom and nowhere to hang up clothes, however they were the only issues I had. Breakfast was nice and overall a great location and room.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Over-rated guesthouse led to huge dissapointment - Following the 4-star reviews found online we booked our three nights at Fancy with confidence. The area was quiet (though the dark dirt-path may be undesirable for some), the room felt spacious and was equipped with a brand new in-room safe (a big plus for us) but this was unfortunately where the positives ended. While supposedly a “new-build” establishment, it quickly became apparent that much of the pristine interior/exterior seen online was far removed from the reality of shoddy workmanship seen throughout the site. Walking home on an evening, for example, revealed room lights seeping through the huge cracks between door frames and doors - inviting any kind of mosquito, gecko etc inside. Our particular door handle was almost broken and required a degree of dexterity to “work” it open. Once inside, our double room was actually a twin room (staff didn’t seem to care when we pointed this difference out) and featured a bathroom with no door - not a huge problem for us but worth mentioning for the less inclined! The “gym” consisted of three pieces of equipment that were rusting and looked rather forlorn in the midday sun. Staff were also pushy to promote their tuc-tuc travel packages for the temples which we regrettably accepted. Our “driver” would disappear between each temple stop and we’d literally spend an hour in the searing heat trying to find him - compounding this all-round negative experience. In summary, it’s hugely fanciful to call this place Fancy - try elsewhere.
- Ayu (6/5): The hotel with friendly staffs - The hotel provided a free airport transfer by tuk-tuk. It was a great experience! The staffs though their english is limited but gave the best services. They made a bus confirmation and arrange the car to drop us off. The breakfast was good but unfortunately the place was too small. At that time, there are some families stayed together with us. To find the hotel, we should walk around 100m from the street but the area is near to reach some local restaurants.
- Colin (8/5): Local and clean and comfortable - Nice, quiet, great located and clean hotel with good staff. Rooms were spacious but not that much storage (ok for one person not so for two). Heated shower was a bit drib but rain shower was nice and cool. Breakfast was ok, just. Located down a dark path/lane which may put people off at night but it is safe. Annoying note - fridge goes off when you leave fob out, so note that. Note also the gym facilities are 3 run down pieces of equipment!!! Nice dip pool. Personally - there's better cheaper if you look (Angkor Villa)
- Kinjal (10/5): Live like Modern Khmer King! - We had a nice free pick up with remork (a car was also provided on request) from airport. The facade of the hotel might dishearten you but everything that comes afterwards are gonna be grand for a budget traveler. The reception is bright with smiles. We had a great stay with Mr. Chhoan's help. All other staff are also very helpful and deal all problems in their best possible english. The remork drivers are friendly; though some are over-smart (left us waiting at base of Mount Bakheng) rest, like Mr. Prohm are just wonderful people to meet. Location is quiet and rather green with trees all around. Decor is simplistic, though the absence of a door to toilet is a technical problem to your room partner (specially if you cannot digest Khmer dishes to well). Pool is well maintained. Breakfast options include early packing for Angkor sunrise trip. There are 3 set menus with little tweaks possible (depends on the availability of certain stuffs; some day it is chicken vanishing, some day it is beef). Again lovely service by the staff. The stay at the price asked for is more than okay. The tours booked are adequate. The driver Samphan is a down to earth guy and will drive you around in his mini van depending on your itinerary. Mr. Chhoan went along with us on our Tonle trip and it was helpful. They waived off our return airport drop charges because we experienced some trouble with electricity and water one day (was solved in 3 hours). Altogether, lovely experience! Will stay again!
- Jessica (4/5): Was disappointed - We was quite disappointed with our stay, it doesn't look like the pictures, the power kept going on and off all day so if your in the shower it would go cold and be pitch black as no natural light. The shower head was broken so water went everywhere but on you. The breakfast staff didn't want to be there made no effort with the customers were more interested in doing each other's hair and playing on their phones. Other than that it's a good area it's close to everything and a good price and the beds were comfy.
- CHAK SUM (10/5): Excellent Hotel in City - Villa style in the city, walking distance to night market and pub street, free pick-up service from airport to hotel, staff are friendly
- Verified traveler (4/5): Walking distance close to main shopping area. - Unfortunately too many problems to list although staff friendly enough.
- Kerry (10/5): Convenient clean hotel - Very nice hotel , near everything
- Alexandra (8/5): Quiet, friendly boutique hotel - We stayed here for two nights during our trip to Angkor wat. The property was beautiful, very quiet and serene just off a main road and only 5 minutes walk to pub street. The staff couldn't have been nicer, their English wasn't 100% but they went out of their way to help us with everything during our stay.
- Lav (10/5): - Very nice hotel. Wonderful staff. Good location. Only issue is that taxi drivers have a hard time finding the place...
- Simon (8/5): Great little hotel - Lovely hotel, great room and breakfast. It's only 5 minutes walk to the night market and pub street. The staff are super friendly and the trip they organised me for Angkor watt for first class
- Raymond (10/5): Excellent Value and Excellent Hotel - Fancy Boutique Villa is an excellent choice for travelers who want a nice clean room with excellent wireless internet, close pool access and friendly staff who are willing to help you with anything. They offer great large beds with mini-fridges to keep drinks cold. There is a TV in each room with a plethora of TV stations including English. There is always a Tuk-Tuk driver outside willing to drive you anywhere in the city. I actually enjoyed the hotel so much, I came back for another stay. The price is actually lower than other hotels in the area and it is more intimate. I will be back for another stay soon.....
- Kent Loong (8/5): Value for money - We have a relaxing and enjoyable stay in the cosy villa. It is walking distance to the night market. Staff are helpful and friendly. Breakfast served is nice and filling, but it will be better if there is more variety. We enjoyed our stay and it is a good value for money. Villa also offers good tuk tuk's package for visit to Angkor Wat. However, the laundry service is quite expensive.
- cynthia (10/5): - Fancy Boutique Villa is definitely a hotel that is worthy of being recommended!
The staff are so nice whom would accommodate all your needs and answer all your enquiries. The pool is small but nice and the breakfast is great too! Overall speaking, it's a delightful stay here in Fancy Boutique Villa and I will definitely stay here again!
- danielle (8/5): cool modern hotel - Beautiful modern decor, excellent service. Pool wasn't kept as clean as we would have liked. Still under minor construction.
- Simon (6/5): - Hotel was nice, staff were friendly, but details in the rooms already starting to crumble a little bit. The door to the first room we were in didn't shut or lock very well, but they moved us, but staff friendly and helpful.for the price the place was good value, but if I'd paid more I might have been disappointed. The company they recommended to rent bikes from though we're fantastic
- Verified traveler (8/5): Welcoming guest house in great location - Fast and easy check in
Friendly, helpful staff
Nice new rooms with comfortable bed
Quaint pool area with lovely gardens
Curtain as a bathroom door
Door handle got stuck a lot
Overall a great place to stay for a great price
- Verified traveler (10/5): Aesthetically pleasing, convenient location - Very convenient location. Walking distance to Pub Street and Old Market. Great restaurant (Moul Chheng Heang) a two-minute walk away on Preah Sangreach Tep Vong Street.
Excellent breakfast. The Western option comes with toast, egg, sausage, bacon, and fresh fruit!
Just be aware that there is no bathroom door. And there's a rooster next door that's pretty chatty.
- Verified traveler (8/5): nice little hotel - Came on a bus from PP and arrived at 7 am. They kindly put us in a temporary room at no charge.
Never ate the free breakfast but did pay for lunch once...it was good but extremely slow.
Nice little pool and close to the night market and pub street.
