Guest Reviews
- Willy (4/5): - Beds are hard and pillows are horrible.
- Ivan (2/5): - Tv wasn’t working
- John (6/5): - This hotel was very inexpensive, but it wasn’t a good value. Generally poor condition and in an undesirable location.
- Ana (2/5): - Horrible experience, felt ynsafe. No phone inside room, main light didn't wok, lock on main door was broken,T.V. didn't work. With no main lighht working, no phone and lock on main door broken I felt very unsafe. I took picture wish I could post.
- Abbigale (10/5): - Great hotel for short stays in LA
- Bayron (2/5): - It was a catfish but the people in the front were cool
- Brett (2/5): 1950s hotel with no upkeep or changes. AVOID - Literally the worst hotel i’ve ever stayed in. shower was so gross i wouldn’t use it. toilet would wobble when you sat on it. missing smoke detector. broken fridge with rust on top and door falling off. no deadbolt or chain lock on main door of room. pool was closed which is a blessing because the water looked worse than a sewage treatment plant. for the security deposit they charge 20 cash. no cards allowed for it. had to walk 8 blocks to the bank to get the cash out. dresser with missing knobs. dirty carpet and smelly rooms. paint is bubbling off the wall. Honestly it was super cheap and that’s the only nice thing i can say about it. i wouldn’t leave anything of value in the room unless you want it stolen. every review over one star is clearly done by hotel staff and owners
- Everett (6/5): - Listen, the people who work at this property are kind, helpful, and nice.
My room was clean, but the smoke detector was open with the batteries clearly missing and there were open sockets. I'm sensitive to dust and many of the vents were in need of cleaning.
The pool was filthy. No way around that.
- Deziree (2/5): - It had roaches, broken locks, broken remote, messed up wallpaper and ceiling, and was unsafe.
- Roberto (2/5): - cockroaches everywhere
- Taylor (2/5): - The pictures were not a good representation of the property. The whole place looked like it was falling apart. Outdated sheets/curtains. Slept on top of sheets/comforter due to the cleanliness. Broken furniture in the room. Thin walls/windows, can hear everything. Fire alarm system off the wall when entered. Butterfly stencils on the ground of the shower tub. Tried to make it look like the toilet was washed/new, it was dirty. Smelt like bleach when walked in. The lock on the door didn’t work, did not feel safe. 20$ cash deposit, sketchy. Will never stay here again, and will tell anyone that needs to hear it to not stay here as well.
- Tanya (2/5): - Broke tv, they didn’t want to give us an extra blanket, roaches everywhere and they let the homeless walk around the hotel!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very simple and easy with them always checking in and checking out
- Kelly (2/5): Overpriced, uncomfortable, unhelpful, needs repair - If we had paid the normal amount for this hotel, we wouldn’t have this feedback. But we came for LA Comic Con, and every hotel was booked. For what we paid this was way overpriced, not a good experience, and We would never stay there again. The bed felt like sleeping on a boxspring covered with plywood. There was large amounts of the wood flooring missing. The shower was bipolar and couldn’t decide if it wanted to be hot or cold all through a shower. The staff were friendly enough. Until we lost an item that was left in the room. It was an important prescription that was not cheap. We were told they didn’t find it. Although I’m not accusing anyone of anything, I find that hard to believe, and it was probably just thrown away.
- David (2/5): - The room was gross. You couldn’t close the window completely. The photos are not anywhere close to what the actual property looks like.
- Lev (10/5): Location, Value, Ease of Access - My stay here continues to be great. Staff are helpful and accommodating across the board communicating and straightforwardness.
- Jimmy (4/5): - Unfortunately I found a roach in the apartment. It’s a cut and dry place, practical yet still expensive given it’s in LA
- STEVE (2/5): - OLD HOTEL THAT HAS NEVER BEEN UPDATED, CARPET DISGUSTING, OLD FURNITURE, ROOM NEEDS PAINTING, TV DIDN'T WORK, WATER PRESSURE IN SINK & SHOWER TERRIBLE & SAW A FOOT LONG "RAT" IN THE PARKING LOT, JUST AS BIG AS I HAVE SEEN IN NYC SUBWAYS, LOL!!!!
- Sean (8/5): - Shower dripped constantly and shower head didn’t sit in holder. Sign in bathroom said to not flush toilet paper… and had a $200 fee if clogged
- Chelsea (2/5): - It was dirty & rundown, and in a VERY unsafe area of town. Wasn’t at all what the advertising pictures showed.
My husband actually wouldn’t let us stay the night since he felt unsafe that we’d be asleep and couldn’t lock our door. And also he figured it was likely we’d have a window bashed in on our Tesla in the morning😬
- Sara (4/5): - Pros: The room was clean. Lots of daylight. Cons: A window louver was crooked so it let air in from outside, and the outside noise was also much louder because of this. The room did not have a bedside lamp. The overhead lights did not work without standing on the bed and fiddling with the fluorescent tubes. The electrical outlet on the wall with the beds was connected to the overhead light switch, so it could not be used when the lights were off. There was no dead bolt on the door to the room. There was no hand towel.
- Anthony (2/5): - Hotel was beat up old and heave cigarette odor!
- Rod (2/5): - This is an awful place to stay. And even if it were a motel it should not be in business
- Mario (6/5): - More or less
- Justyn (10/5): - Excellent staff and atmosphere!
- Smilla (4/5): - We had to get another room because the one we initially got had Bedbugs and we noticed in the middle of the night! The second room was okay. But still a very disappointing inconvenience.
Waking up from little creatures in your bed.
- Ricardo (2/5): Worst place ever - Worst place I ever stayed, wasn’t comfortable at all they even had bumps sleeping outside the room was terrible it had no shower head and the bed was hard as a rock the wall were terrible worst places I ever stayed for 130 I would of got something better
- Melinda (8/5): - I requested a first floor room about a week before my trip and they did not accommodate me.
- Rakesh (10/5): - All good experience
- MITZ EAGLE (10/5): - Nice
- Michael (2/5): - It was so dirty in my room the walls were peeling the table was coming apart. The paint all over. The bathroom had no light bulbs and the counter was messy. Bed was clean but that’s about it .
- Karl (4/5): - It’s an alright location and the cockroaches like it too.
- Alex (8/5): - I had a great experience visiting at this location for DragCon
- Tyler (2/5): - There's nothing unique about the property. It was one of those one-way in one way out. Hope you make it type of motels.
- Maricela (2/5): - 0
- Paul (4/5): - First, let me say that the front desk people with whom I interacted were very gracious and kind, but this property is just horrendous.
We’re talking about Los Angeles, where room rates are through the roof and such things as aesthetics and personal security must often be sacrificed for affordability.
There are homeless encampments springing up around many parts of Los Angeles, and the area around this hotel is certainly no exception. Makeshift tents and human feces dot the sidewalks within half a block. I can not recommend venturing off property after dark.
If I owned the property, I would be embarrassed by the condition of the rooms. Based solely upon my room, it was fairly clean, the A/C worked fine and the bed was suitably comfortable. The rest of it, however, was like a frat house archetype. There were cigarette burns on the edges of one of the side cabinets, which accentuated the obvious absence of its drawer. Graffiti was painted on the inside of the one on the other side.
The cables for the TV and cable box were a snakelike mass, sagging down over the mirror. Years of dripping water have stained the tub, and the hot water tap in the sink had nearly nonexistent water pressure.
The battery had been removed from the smoke detector and I shudder to think of what lurked in the carpet.
It makes me uneasy to give such a poor rating. I do so only because, if it were my hotel, I’d want to know.
On the plus side, the gardenias at the bottom of the stairs smelled fabulous.
- Dwight (2/5): - A lot of messy or broken furniture, such as no shower curtain, door, broken cabinet, dirty walls, chipped and damaged table, no running water for hours due to a supposed broken pipe, and lack of a refund.
- Hector (2/5): - When we arrived at the hotel, everything seemed normal. I didn’t expect any luxuries because I know it’s a budget hotel, but I was definitely taken aback by several unpleasant surprises.
Here’s what happened:
1. Upon entering the room, there was a terrible smell, like dirt, humidity, and especially urine.
2. The carpet was very dirty, with large stains and in some places it was torn, making it unsafe to walk barefoot. I always had to wear crocs or something to get to the bathroom.
3. Speaking of the bathroom, it seemed like it had already been used; there was only one roll of toilet paper and it was already started, not new.
4. There were no towels or bath mats.
5. The smell was so unpleasant that we had to ask them to spray the room with air freshener and bleach.
6. There was no wifi; it never reached the room.
7. There was no hot water, so we couldn’t shower because we would have gotten sick from the cold water.
8. There was no TV service; there was a TV, but it didn’t work.
In the end, we were able to sleep, which was the important thing. But we really had a bad experience. The surprising part is that the staff didn’t offer any apologies or any kind of “discount” or anything.
I could go on about the poor condition of the hotel, but that’s not the point. I just want to focus on the poor service and the stay.
- Jose (2/5): - I paid for 5 nights but I only stayed 4, they did not refund me for the night I no longer stayed, the pool was too dirty, the area was very old and in poor condition.
- Alejandro (4/5): - Not friendly stuff, old and damaged unit, cash deposit
- Mabrouk (10/5): - Nice place it’s a motel affordable and in the heart of the city, it’s true it’s not that clean, but safety it’s safe, if you are born on the cotton I suggest don’t come to this place because you’re not gonna like it, but myself born in the ghetto, I can live with it and One thing I’d like the security deposit it’s cash $100 when you leave you get it you don’t have to wait, for the money to hit back your bank account
- Verified traveler (4/5): Would have stayed again but.. - We found out on our last day there that there were roaches. The hotel is a little old and worn out but it wasn’t too terrible. We would have stayed again because it’s very close to public transit but then we found the roaches.
- Brianne (2/5): - The only reason why I stayed there was for the free parking but never in my life have I ever seen anything like this not even in third world countries. And it was $125.
I need to post pictures I have no words to describe
- Verified traveler (4/5): You get what you pay for. - Wish I had pictures. The entire room was clean. I went to LA for a concert with cousin and bestfriend. The issue we had with our stay, was the fact that we did not have a shower door or even curtain. The shower door seemed like it was taken off of its hinges. Whenever we used the shower, we had to drape one of the bath towels so the water wouldn't splash out. The cabinet door for the cabinet under the bathroom sink was also taken off its hinges.
The locking system was very weird. The door had no deadbolt, and had the lock on backwards. You lock the door from the OUTSIDE. As three young women, we did not feel secure enough. We easily could've been trapped in our room.
- Dwayne (2/5): - They need to remodel that place. New beds, new bathroom and lights also the Rug was dirty
- Elizabeth (2/5): Horrible - The room was leaking from the restroom. Restroom sink water wasn’t going down. The shower didn’t have a shower head. The toweles were stained and dirty
- Ennio (2/5): - Very poorly kept hotel less than one star
Need a complete renovation
Very outdated pictures in the web site
- Sara (2/5): Horrible - Stains on the carpet, cockroaches, sink water came out brown, holes in the walls, worst hotel I've ever stayed in.
- Michael (2/5): Bed bugs - The room has bed bugs and i am covered in bites. I left the room after only being there a few hours and they refused to issue a refund. Do not stay at this place. Ever
- Thor (2/5): Don't do it - Didn't read the reviews. I should have. The place is a dump. I assume it's a former welfare hotel trying out as something else. Literal holes in the wall, mold, broken fans, dangling broken light fixtures, a shower that would be only be useful if you're under 4ft tall, terrible, stained bedding, etc...
But, hey! On site parking and close to Crypto.com Arena I've added a photo of their "chandelier"
- Kenae (2/5): - This hotel is a mess very dirty holes in walls carpet inside room is filthy the house keeper was rude as hell we made reservations for 2 they only gave us 1 of each tile would never recommend
- Jose (2/5): - The hotel is very ugly, the windows are broken, the bathroom was unserviceable, very dirty, very noisy, a lot of noise, the staff does not give you towels and they just hired me for four and they gave me three towels, bad service, I do not recommend it for anyone.
- David (2/5): - We had prepaid for two nights and had to pay a cash deposit at check in to the guy behind the security screen (a bit of a give away) at reception. We went to our room, quickly decided personal safety was paramount. Returned to our car with our luggage and found another hotel that offered friendly checkin, sans the bullet proof screen, a clean room and a sense of security. Tbh I misread the rating, assuming 4.2 was scored out of 10 - my bad. This was the last leg of a long trip, i was looking to contain my budget, but didn’t think twice about losing $400 and getting out of there
- Zouheir (2/5): - Stay away from downtown in general
- Wilnard (4/5): - I paid $100 per night and the sink leaked. The television was broken. The tub did not drain properly and filled up every time I would take a shower and flow over if I moved around. The Christmas decorations played carols loudly all night which could be heard from my room across the parking lot. I was in room # 125. The atm was broken you had to walk two blocks to the nearest one. I guess the only good thing was that they held my luggage while I went to the atm for the cash deposit.
- joseph (2/5): - The staff can't communicate and not willing to help when the toilet gets clogged which triggered us to just leave and look for another place to stay despite of paying for 2 nights
- ADRIANA (2/5): - Rats!!!! I can’t believe Expedia has such a hotel!!!
And not getting my money back on a hotel I left because when I opened the door to my room two rats stormed out even worse, book elsewhere!!!!
- Red (6/5): - Sounded and felt like I was being watched weird vibration in bed and hear drimmel tool most night
- Verified traveler (4/5): Do not recommend for a solo woman traveler - Sis not stay. Needed a room for the night, last minute….and immediately No. it was not for me. I was scared as I was going to be staying by myself. Listen this places was giving “Taken”. It’s not the owner’s fault…it’s just creepy.
I don’t carry cash. It is required that you have 100 cash for the security deposit and there is a bullet proof window separating you and the front desk staff person, the microwave was plugged up outside on a chair.
- Md. Arifur (10/5): - Friendly and good location
- Roland (2/5): - nasty
- colin (2/5): - Property was shocking. Broken windows, broken table dirty very unpleasant and it up. I didn’t stay there. It was that bad no, it was worse than that. Expedia should take this place off their website
- Maria (10/5): - Good place for a quick and cheap stay
- colin (2/5): - I walked into the property and was shocked by the state of the reception, and it only got worse. Broken windows on our room, broken table. Also the state of the room was shocking. Just shocking. Ended up I didn’t stay there. So lost my payment for three nights. But just couldn’t stay there so no only lost my payment. I had to find somewhere else to stay. I have pictures if anybody wants to see. They have another refund policy and you can see Wife.
- Brianna (2/5): - All outlets were loose, shower head very low, also I’d recommend who ever stays to bring shoes to shower. Door has a lock that doesn’t work, toilet is loose. Heard yelling all night. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone unless you need an emergency stay.
- Paula (4/5): - Yes this is a budget friendly hotel but there was hardly any amenities. No hangers, no extra toilet paper, no iron, only two towels. I’m amazed there was even a tv. I would give it even less stars but the staff did let us check in a few hours early which was appreciated. Be prepared to give a $100 CASH deposit before you get your room key (which they give back upon check out) and you’ll have to use the chair as extra table space to get ready in the mornings because there is a very small bathroom with a small vanity. No tub, just a shower. There is a huge closet attached to the bathroom but nothing to hang anything with. The area itself was questionable but I actually found the hotel to be very quiet and I’m a light sleeper.
- Richard (2/5): - Holes in wall, carpet burned, shower door doesn't close, smoke detector ripped out of wall, dressers broken, pool dirty. Expedia customer service did nothing to help. Just don't stay here.
- Masato Fabian (4/5): - The Facility urgently needs a renovation... the floor was unraveling and there was a small hole in the wall. I also had little trouble checking in, the receptionist first tried to give me a new room before I could convince him that I had already booked online.
Other than that, the place was clean, and the location was in walking distance to the next bus stop and metro station.
- Jeremy (10/5): - Nice staff
- Noemi (2/5): - There is a $100 cash deposit that is not mentioned upon booking. The photos don’t match the inside. My shower head was missing
- Brandon (2/5): - Never stay at this hotel, the beds are so dirty I wouldn’t dare sleep on them. Due to the risk of catching crabs the pictures online are completely different compared to real life and the
- Cynthia (6/5): - It’s just ok, not terrible but definitely not good. Very noisy, place feels unsafe, and beds are somehow uncomfortable. But it was clean, the check in was fast, and staff were nice, also price is ok for this area.
- Jesus (4/5): - the room was dirty, not presentable
- Nga (2/5): - Room was disgustingly filthy. Giant hole in the carpet. Stains on wall, bathroom was dirty. Walked right out and asked for another room. Next room they gave us was not any better. Giant hole and stains on wall. Nightstand drawer was broken and missing a drawer. Bathroom was filthy. Molds around the shower and dirty stains. Sink was falling off from wall with stains and gunk all around the faucet which squeaks when you turn it. Shower drain is clogged so you can’t take a shower or else you’re standing in puddle of water. Mattress is very old and dunking in. AC buttons are worn in so you can’t adjust it properly. We were afraid to touch or use anything in the room. My daughter cried and wanted to sleep in the car! Room right on busy street so traffic noise is really loud so there is no way to sleep through the night. The next day I asked for another room but was told that there was no other room. The guy next to our room stands outside our door and smokes so I can smell it in our room because the door has cracks around the edges which lets light in. The WiFi does not work. This property is not what it advertises and should not be marketed by Expedia.
- Mami (2/5): - The actual room did not look like the pictures at all. No amenity, old building, shady neighborhood. There was a cockroach in the room. Never stay here.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Only there for a night but it was a great location for the event I attended. The staff was friendly and check in/out was easy. Had everything needed.
- SUSHANT (10/5): - Helped me with day parking
- Joel (2/5): - Many of the television’s channel weren’t available. There was an off putting stench in the room. Rats run around the property and the surrounding area isn’t safe at all.
- Josue (10/5): - Great place
- Ian (2/5): - Location nothing like into photos. Completely unsafe. Chatted with representative and sent all photos over. Expedia contacted the property and the manager refused to talk on the phone so the representative lied to the Expedia reps and the manager was not in.
I want a resolution ASAP
- RUSELL INES (4/5): - The person assist as was nice
- Verified traveler (8/5): It was alright! - Would recommend just not for a long stay. Beds are okay and it does look kinda run down but if you need a place to stay it does the job. Just be sure to bring toilet paper if your own as they do leave the toilet paper that was there.
- Federico (4/5): - Needs renovation at all , wifi service very poor, feel is no secure , there is not security at front
- Epifanio (4/5): - Room was ok, very run down. There were rats outside the dumpsters running around like dogs. We found a cockroach in the bathroom.
- Ender_Mare001 (4/5): my stay - I went with my dad here for a trip. not great. the first room we got had stains on the pillow and in the bathroom there was a hole in the wall. we got a new room and there were stains on the ground and no shower curtain. my dad called the hotel an "old school hotel". also this area is a tiny bit shady. the shower is weak and idk if this might be bad to you or not but the shampoo came in packets. but I can live in it and my xbox 360 hooked up to the tv so that was nice. I was able to smell, and no smell. air conditioning is good.
- Kelly (2/5): - Horrible. Beware pictures on this ad DO NOT reflect the real stay. Deadbolt off door, broken headboards, dirty linens, no remote control, bathtub nasty, caked with filth, no water pressure. Staff not available to handle concerns about safety issues, Expedia would not refund because the hotel was “pay as you stay.” Also required a CASH deposit. Rooms stunk of a mildew, nasty stench. Towels were filthy, toilet seat broken, DO NOT stay here, learn from our nightmare and pay a little more to actually enjoy your trip and stay somewhere else.
- Tabor (4/5): - I was all set to give them 4 stars. But while the building and furnishings are in desperate need of updating, I found the room and grounds quite clean. For the price I payed for a downtown with free parking, I certainly didn't mind the the wear and tear on the facilities. But, I was there for 3 days and never had hot water. I let them know several times and was assured it would be fixed, but it never was. Fortunately, I don't mind a cold shower. But if my wife had been with me, it would have been an absolute deal breaker.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Terrible hotel, zero cleanliness - I expected that the hotel will not be good but I did not expect that it will be this terrible.
- Simone (2/5): - No fridge
Bs microwave
The pool has been closed for 2 years yet it was still listed with hours of operation. I want my money back.
The employees were extremely racist & one guy literally was always asleep on night shift as soon as he got there. & he literally did not know how to run night audit, extend stays, or even re-key a room key. We had no choice but to stay there as everywhere else was sold out.
- Roberto (4/5): - Not good customer service
- Leobardo (2/5): - The rooms are nothing like the Expedia page shows.Limited parking, had to pay $26 at a parking stall.VERY DIRTY INSIDE AND OUT!
- Amar (2/5): - Not clean enough, lack of basic things in the room, stained towels, no iron, no water bottle, no coffee machine.
- Rita (2/5): - worst hotel ever gave dumbs a bad name
- Jennifer (4/5): - Need a $100 CASH deposit. No exceptions
- James (10/5): - Excellent property. Very clean room and location.
- Emmanuel (8/5): Good for the price - shower did not work properly, but overall it was good for the price. AC worked, clean sheets, good bed, not disturbed by any noises. individual plastic cups in individual plastic bags so not very eco friendly.
- Nala (2/5): - Rude
- LaQuanta (10/5): - Nice staff
- LaQuanta (10/5): - Pleasure
- Ramona (2/5): - It was not good at all
