Dispite having multiple problems the concierge was having to resolve, he was polite, apologetic and kept us up dated. we booked at the last minuit and were acomodated. Apearance of property, broken front windows, reception lighting hanging from loose wires. Bathroom vanity lighting above mirror melted. Cleanliness of room, window frames mouldy and window cills dusty. Rubbish in bins felt feom previous guests. waiting time for room to be ready was 3 hrs and Fire alarms going of frequently through out the night up until 12:30am. Safety concerns due to on site visit from fire marshalls highlighting the lack of adequate working facilities, proceedures and documentation.

All staff are highly attentive from receptionists to the room servicing team, making my young daughter feel very special. Really good value for budget money with the best of beaches and the town centre a few minutes walk away. No negatives here!

- Katie (3/5): Ok for a budget base. You get what you pay for. - Super location over looking the beautiful beach. The lady behind reception is lovely and helpful. Dirty carpets, rooms are basic, chipped furniture, damaged doors, needs a deep clean and decorating throughout. No restaurant or bar open. Hotel is cold and the heating is operated on a times which is not on long enough to heat the hotel.

- Mark Cherry (6/5): Very relaxing and an ideal location. - The price is great. The location is handy for easy access to centre of Newquay and the train station. There are plenty of places to eat out within a very short walk. Easy access to Tolcarne beach (via steep steps or road), the Barrowfields, Lusty Glaze, and Porth. The hotel has a feeling of an older establishment, the water pressure is a little lacking, but it's exactly what I expected for a great price. It's clean and nothing to complain about.

- Mark (4/5): Nice staff, shame about the hotel - The hotel is looking very sad and tired. There are stains and signs of damage pretty much everywhere you look and the entrance lobby smelt like a sewer for some reason. I was encouraged to leave my key in the drop box on the front desk but only once did the staff ask for any proof of who I was when I came to pick up the key later in the day, which didn't feel very secure. Parking outside the hotel is very limited and charged at £10 per day, which seems a bit steep in my opinion. The bed was absolutely knackered and there was a large gap under the door, which let in light from the hallway. All in all a very tired and sad state of affairs indeed. The staff were all very pleasant and friendly but the hotel itself is in dire need of some TLC.

I had shower in small toilet so I left door open and smoking alarms was going on for very long time then for not knowing reason that alarm wakes me up again two times in my room at morning ( it was just above bed ) so very loud small rooms but clean and close to shops which is nice , lift only take you on u floors but u need walk dawn from floors

- Abbi (10/5): Amazing Last Minute Find - Had a lovely 2 night stay at The Beresford Hotel. My daughter and I shared a sea view twin room with ensuite. On arrival it looks quite run down and parking isnt great and is limited, however if you get a space they print a sign stating your name and reg number for £5 per night. This ensures you a parking space. We had an Assistance Dog and a retired Assistance Dog, who is now old and nothing was too much trouble and thevwere made to feel welcome, along with us. The beds were comfortable and the room was well equipped, personally the small table and chairs were brilliant for me as I like to write. The bathroom was clean and had all you needed. The seaview was amazing and the cost of thr room was fantastic. We will be returning again soon. Thank you.
- paul (6/5): - ok this is not the fault of the staff but more the fault of Expedia ..when we booked the hotel it was a last minute thing having already been badly let down by BOOKING .CON ..the hotel is very tired and worn rooms are very grubby and dated with stained carpets everywhere peeling paint etc .it was more on the lines of a DHSS HMO .. it was advertised as having a restaurant and bar ..NO it doesn't .the staff were as helpful as you possibly wish for and actually gave us the choice of 3 different rooms as we were there and really couldn't be bothered with trying to find anywhere else we settled for the best .the beds were extremely comfortable ( surprisingly ) and the view was terrific .we managed I think because we had so much trouble with booking .com we just accepted it .
- Claudio (4/5): Poor Hotel in a beautiful place and great staff - Clean room, Great staff, accommodating all requests and smiling all time. Polite and friendly. Sadly the Hotel is very poor in terms of how is kept and maintained. The lining paper on walls or ceiling is peeling off, the mould on the shower glass, the furniture in general is rusty and old: the carpet, the ceiling lights everywhere are not properly attached and weirdly pending from the ceiling with spiders inside too. All colours are towards grey or brown, so not great atmosphere or mood. No bar present so we couldn't have a coffee or something else in the Hotel to drink. Again, the staff is great because are very helpful but for the price we paid (180£ and more), honestly, is not worth at all what we had, apart form the sea view. It's definitely not a 3 stars Hotel, I would rate it just as 1 star. The premier inn just beside on the same dates had a cost which was half the price we paid: if I knew it beforehand I would have booked there. I feel I have been frauded for the price I paid.
- Martin (2/5): Mixed bag - Stayed here 6 times over the last year the view an closeness to the beach is amazing This time only started the 2 nights however on the first day within an hour of checking in I rolled my ankle on a loose floor board when I got down to reception an told them thay came back up with me an said they would fix it while we were out but when we came back a good 4-5hrs later they hadn’t done it an was told it’ll get fixed the next morning needless to say it never got fixed an wouldn’t even put it down in the injury book not happy customer and if I do stay again I just hope it’ll be the old staff back again
- Louise (7/5): Great stay for a night or two - The location is great and they have parking The staff member when checked in was called Andrew was amazing The night staff were pleasant Right opposite the tolcarne beach Which is amazing for beach location You have lots of bars restaurants The amusement arcade is close by A small Morrison shop and a great Indian restaurant must try the best in town Wetherspoon is 2 min walk and 5 min walk down to the town and lots of shops and bars Sailors and a nightclub if want to party all night Walkabouts is great and has lots of sports on If you live in the area don’t forget to ask for your members card for all half price drinks in sailors and walkabouts with inline banking app works fine to show address You have hot water and a clean room with coffee and tea etc The rooms are so cheap compared to other hotels opposite There’s no breakfast and the mattress was too soft There’s not much to dislike when it’s a basic clean room Everything worked fine apart from the tv but it didn’t matter about that

- Filipe (3/5): - The location is great, and the staff were nice. The room was very cold, I had to request a heater. The room was in a bad state, patches on the walls, peeling all paper, damp and very old furniture. The bed inly had 2 pillows, we were only guven 2 towels, the shower didnt have pressure for even a wash. The entire look of the hotel was old and neglected. No cleaning service either to make the bed or replenish the tea and coffee. We paid extra for the room with a view and that is the only highlight of the weekend.

- Dale (2/5): My stay at the beresford was terrible to be honest my room was dark and dingy with a view of a small dirty Courtyard. I - Not much It was run down. I stayed for 4 nights and in that time didn’t see any cleaning staff. No option for dining no breakfast.

Quick walk to all shops and restaurants Building and rooms are tired and in desperate need of redecoration. Not as shown in photographs at all. Bed only had 2 thin pillows, windows were filthy, curtains had holes and didn’t close properly, and the carpets were disgusting and didn’t feel comfortable walking about with no shoes within the room.
- Ernest Abonche (6/5): Great, we visited different areas in Cornwall like St Ives, Penzance, Falmouth, Padstow, etc - The view of the hotel is good and accessible, very close to Newquay beach and town centre where there are many shops. The location is good and the neighbour is good. The hotel (Beresford) inspite of all the positives mentioned above, the hotel needs some serious very, very, very important "face lift". The furnitures (bed, tables, wardrobe, mirrors ), carpet, etc in the room needs changing. The balcony needs to be clean from Seagulls poo and other dirts on the window and the window blinds also needs to be washed and cleanded. They need to improve on the speed and reliability of the WiFi. The heating in the room and tower rail in the toilet/bathroom needs to changed or cleaned and in good working condition. If they charge a little bit more (£10 - £20) additional per night, they can use this to improve the environment and overall look of the hotel in different phases. We are planning to go for holiday in Newquay - Cornwall again by end of this year or next year in the summer if we don't get confirmation that this has been sorted (some improvements made), we might consider using another hotel. The hotel should consider this feedback as positive feedback rather than a negative and begin some phase improvements.

Really out dated, needs a face lift, no bar or restaurant, the parking is stupid as there isn’t any, but the staff did sort parking free of charge for us.

This is a not correct advertisement, when we arrive they were maybe max 10 spaces at the front of the hotel most of them were taken and few empty . We were told all fully booked . No information on booking that we have to book parking . We were told to go about the corner to park in residential area. When I asked about parking the answer I received was they can include all information on booking. Com. That’s is misleading customers. Room was very dated and dirty. Carpets almost black.
