- Liz (7/5): - Location, sea view, the decor downstairs, very comfortable bed and the staff. Very old, and worn bathroom with broken top of taps on sink. TV reception was very bad - fuzzy and inconsistent. No bedside cabinet next to one side of bed.
- Geraldine (7/5): One night only - Great location - everything within walking distance. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Communal areas have been refurbished tastefully with smart colours. Room was on the 3rd floor and we walked up the stairs. Apart from the 1st door, every fire door was stiff and hard to open, tricky if you have luggage. Plus the landings were poorly lit. The room was basic and the bed was comfy but only 1 pillow on each side and a strange gap between the wooden headboard and pillow. Shower was small but functional - no female waste bags. The room needed a refurb but maybe they haven't reached the upper floors yet! Could've added some drinking glasses and water, some biscuits, a box of tissues and a bar of soap as a nice touch? Only stayed one night so not worth complaining.

La déco en bas est très jolie et l'emplacement de l'hotel est très pratique. Nous avons pu bénéficier d'un parking pour la voiture donc notre expérience était globalement vraiment à la hauteur de nos attentes. Tout était bien! Le douches pourraient être raffraichies/ rénovées

The ventilation was not working, and there was an unpleasant smell. The room itself also smelled bad. Overall, the hotel’s cleanliness was very poor. The staff were friendly, but the breakfast was disappointing for the price. It was served cold and did not seem fresh. The buns and croissants were store-bought and stale. The last time we stayed in the same area, we paid less at another hotel and got a much better room and an excellent breakfast.

- Dan (7/5): An honest summary - Location Cleanliness could of been better. The room was dusty, hair on the carpet and dirty cups. At breakfast we went to sit on one table but the glasses and bowl were dirty and when we found a cleaner table we still had to wipe everything over. Strange not being able to have your own key. You have to leave behind reception when your not at the hotel. I get it with lost keys ect... I'm a Locksmith so I know the cost. No hairdryer in the room but it was supposed to have one. We reported on the evening of arrival and the reception guy just said he doesn't know where they are. When I asked the next morning, I was told one would be brought to us but I had to come back down to ask again and collect it. Breakfast was odd as we weren't originally offered toast and a egg along side the continental breakfast, so my partner asked as others had been offered. We felt a bit like maybe there is differing levels of attention on how/who you booked through.

- Marie (7/5): Comfortable beds friendly staff, but room was unfortunately dusty - Lovely and close to the Congress Theatre and it was cheap. The staff were nice and lovely sea front location. The room unfortunately was quite dusty. The cleaners aren’t dusting properly and I say this as someone who worked as a chamber maid myself. The kettle had something inside it I don’t even know what it was and even from boiling it multiple times it was not clean. The staff is sorted out very quickly and gave me a different kettle but again the cleaning staff clearly aren’t doing their jobs correctly.

They helped me arrange a surprise for my girlfriend and even upgraded our room. The stay was amazing and the view was really beautiful. But for me the most important part was how nice the staff was all the time. I can't wait to come back again, and can only wish the best for everyone that works there :)

- Donna (10/5): Another excellent and friendly stay at the West Rocks Hotel - Location, value for money and friendliness of all the staff at West Rocks Hotel. Another great stay which again, did not disappoint. This is our 'go to' Hotel in Eastbourne! We met with the owner of the hotel and he took the time to show us around what improvements he is making within the hotel and I must say, so far so good and the fact he is introducing breakfast is a thumbs up from us. The décor is in keeping with the building and has been done tastefully - can't wait to see the end product. Nothing to dislike

- Yvonne (9/5): Brilliant as always - This was our fifth stay at West Rocks so we knew what we were getting. Great location, beautiful building that's well maintained and that's now getting a bit of a refurbish as well. They changed the lounge and it looks absolutely stunning! We always love staying here and will definitely be back. They used to have vending and tea/coffee machines downstairs but they seem to have been removed. It's not a big issue as there are shops nearby but still, they came in handy sometimes! :)

- Sue (10/5): A relaxing weekend, in the perfect location with a comfortable nights sleep. - Chris and his team were so friendly as soon as we arrived. This is our 2nd time staying at West Rocks Hotel and it won’t be our last. Location is excellent. A permit can be purchased to park opposite for only £2.35 a day. The property has so much character which is presented well. We stayed in a large double room with sea view which was clean, bright with an extremely comfortable bed. Staying at the West Rocks exceeded our expectations especially with Chris taking the time to get to know his guests bringing a more personal touch. Look forward to seeing you again when we next visit our family. There was nothing not to like.

Hotel has had a wonderful upgrade - bright crisp rooms and bathroom. Very comfortable beds. Parking was easy as well, but might be more difficult in the busy season. Being an old structure, some of the layout is odd, but our view of the ocean was perfect.

A supersize comfy bed and as a long lady the bathtub was the perfect tonic after a walk along The South Downs. The staff so welcoming and uber helpful, giving great recommendations and advice for your every need, food, directions you name it. The location is unbeatable, a short walk to the pier, the theaters, the train station, pretty much anywhere. As an annual visitor to Eastbourne for several years, West Rock Hotel is now the only place for me and I highly recommend a stay. So much so, that not only did I extend my stay (as I truly didn't wish to leave), I booked again before leaving! Nothing at all

The old crumbling windows could not be opened (by fault or design was not clear) AND misted up so it was almost impossible to see the sea.

Parking is outside the building, public one, was 2,5 pounds, paid at the register. It was not a good idea to come to this town in March- it was cold and foggy, there wasnt ant sea view because of the fog:) The hotel is old, the bathroom needs to be renovated so as the room. In March almost all the restaurants/pubs and amenities were closed in the town, was difficult to find smth to eat

- Rebecca (10/5): Geheimtipp! - Wunderschönes viktorianisches Hotel, liebevoll ausgestattet, direkt am Strand. Man erwartet fast, dass Miss Marple im Salon sitzt und Tee schlürft. Das Personal war sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich. Ich hatte meinen anderthalbjährigen Sohn dabei und alle waren sehr geduldig und liebevoll. Schade war nur, dass wir wieder gehen mussten.

Booked one night and it was so good, booked a second night on a whim as we liked the hotel so much at an amazing rate and we were graciously upgraded, sadly it was a 5 am departure but a comfortable warm room listening to the sea, whats not to like.

- T9883KElindah (10/5): Pleasantly surprised, we will be back - What a gem of a hotel right on the beachfront, walkable to town and the theatres. Very quaint old fashioned lift. The rooms are small but have everything you need for a short stay. The bed is very comfortable, the only downside is that there are only 2 pillows which are very soft so they could do with putting 4 on the bed. Shower pressure is good, although the shower cubicle is quite small and there are tea/coffee facilities in the room. We were upgraded to a sea view facing room which was lovely and very unexpected. The staff are superb, from reception to housekeeping and night staff, reception is manned 24/7, so friendly and helpful. A special mention to Chris who replaced the tv in the room within 5 minutes of reporting it faulty. Excellent customer service all round.
- Kathy (8/5): Lovely stay with friendly and helpful staff. Amazing sea views - The location is fantastic, and a wonderful seafront view from the second floor bay window. The Victorian lift is great, but tough to use as the door is heavy to manoeuvre. Fit and able guests would have no difficulty! The stairs were a bit awkward for me.

A special thank you to Chris for replacing our tv set within 5 minutes of informing him that ours was playing up. We were also upgraded to a sea view room which was so lovely and unexpected. The lift, only 2 very soft pillows in the room, could do with 4.

- Helen (9/5): Perfect location for the beach. Great for walks. - The location is fantastic!, we had a wonderful sea view room. Staff were very friendly & accomodating. Pool table was a plus. Close to the Pier and plenty of nice places to eat. Its a shame the hotel doesn't have a restaurant, although they do have vending machines. You can go to the restaurant opposite for a buffet breakfast (£15 each) or there are cafe's nearby.
- Nadine (9/5): Warm and friendly welcome in a lovely hotel in a great location - Very friendly and helpful staff. Especially Michael. Was made very welcome. Nothing too much trouble. Perfect location for theatre, resturants, beach and attractions. Parking outside at a reduced rate. Very comfy bed. Clean room. We picked a small room but would go for a bigger one next time as the small was very small.
- Tamara (9/5): So cool - Sehr netter Mann und Frau an der Rezeption. Wurden herzlich/ freundliche Empfangen und er hat uns ein super tolles Restaurant empfohlen. Zimmer war grosszügig für 2 Erwachsene, 1 Kind. Parkplätze gegenüber, wäre auch bezahlt worden vom Hotel. Tapeten mit Fischen waren lustig. Badezimmer war gross. Wenig Platz für Ablage von Taschen und Kulturbeutel.

- Emre (10/5): Happy stay! - We were upgraded to a larger room because it was empty, which was great. The room was large with a beautiful bay window, and there was a good tv. It was clean and warm. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Definitely you will enjoy staying in this hotel. The bathroom was fine but could be updated a bit.
