Guest Reviews
- Loutfi (8/5): - Good service
- John (4/5): Reasonable, basic but very very noisy - Very low price so is worth the money, you get what you pay for. I don't have any specific gripes other than the air con didn't work, the TV didn't have any channels, WiFi not very good and our room was facing the street so was kept awake by the very loud market until 3am. The bed linen was also heavily stained and there was hair all over the bed. The room has clearly not been cleaned for some time
- Yasmeen (4/5): - Kind people but
- Ryan (2/5): - I had to wait nearly 1hr30 after checking in for 1 towel (that was more suited to the size of a child) - which I had to get myself. The fittings inside the shower were mouldy and one of the shower cubicle doors were missing so when I used the shower, despite trying my best, the entire bathroom floor got wet. The window in the bedroom was like one found in a prison cell - very small and high up meaning that you can't look out of it. I checked out and went elsewhere after my first night as I struggled. I think the price I paid was ridiculous for the service, cleanliness and quality of my short stay - the only positive is that this hotel is near to Jemaa El-fna.
- Mathias (8/5): - Ras
- Kaoutar (2/5): - .
- Azad (2/5): - Smutsigt, hög ljud dygnet runt, nästan allt var trasslig.
- lionel (8/5): Great location, but not for everyone. - Great location, clean, and nice staff, but very little amenities. Also, if your room is facing the street, it will be VERY noisy until 5am. Windows are not soundproof.
- Andrea (2/5): Stay somewhere else - If you can spend a little more do it and stay somewhere else! The location of the hotel is really good if you want to stay in the middle of the Medina with plenty of restaurants around.
The hotel however is not that good. The room was really dirty with hairs all over the beds and a very dirty toilet. There was a soap dispenser that didn’t work and we didn’t get any towels.
The rooms were not soundproofed at all and you can hear what’s going on in the streets and exactly everything going on in the other rooms. Our neighbors were upp all night singing and laughing making it impossible for us to sleep.
The beds were firm but comfy and quite large.
The room was also very cold and we didn’t get any heating.
- Maurizio (2/5): Really terrible - The good: the hotel is less than 20 minutes walking from most of the main Marrakesh attractions. Good wi fi. The bad: everything else. Receptionists on late shift only spoke arabic and french. On the way to my room I was handed a toilet roll and a towel. I asked for and got a second one. Both well worn out. Rooms are “basic”: there is a double bed with just enough space to move around. No chair, desk or wardrobe. In a corner there is a rail with a couple of coat hangers and some shelves. My room had a narrow window set high up against the ceiling, opening onto a small court where from the noise I believe there was a boiler. Couldn’t see the sky, only the wall. After running the water a strong smell of sewage filled the bathroom, the extractor fan didn’t work and also the steam stayed in. I asked to change room and was moved to one with a large balcony window. Again the fan did not work but I could at least ventilate by opening the bedroom window. This opens on the busiest street leading to the main square, full of shops, and some shopkeepers start hawking their goods by shouting, banging and clapping their hands each night at 11:30 (23:30) and carry on until 2:00 am - yes, 2 in the morning! By the the time sleeping is possible it’s 2:30 am. Then at 6:45 comes the call of the muezzin from the loudspeakers of the nearby mosque and gradually the street noise raises again. Avoid unless you’re desperate and if you go make sure to bring towels, toiletries, deodoriser and ear plugs.
- Coralie (2/5): - Il n’y avait pas d’eau chaude très mauvaise isolation, bref nul
- Eduardo Lopez De (6/5): - Need some improvement
- VICTOR GABRIEL (6/5): - Location is great, but no hot water at shower neither clean bathroom. Personal is nice.
- SARDER (10/5): - Thanks nice everything
- Roman (4/5): - you‘ll get what you pay… there was no towels or toilettepaper available and the bathroom had a very strong smell. the location is great, but i would only choose this hotel if you just need sonething close to sleep
- Z (4/5): - Poorservice from the man in the counter, lack of towels and shower ammenities unless its asked for. Noisy during the night until 3 AM. Host also complaining about Expedia booking for the start set a negative tone from the start of my stay. Only positives were the cleanliness and location.
There are better options for similarly priced hotels in the area so I would not recommend a stay here.
- Paya (10/5): - The receptionist and the manager were very nice and friendly. Very clean rooms and shared areas. Made me change my plans and stay an extra night in marrakech before visiting casablanca. Highly recommended if you are looking for a clean cozy place that is close to the heart of the city!
- Elizabeth (10/5): Gem - Lovely Gem,
This is a returned visit to this hotel
Lovely and clean, very friendly staff make you welcome.
Excellent location
Amazing views from the roof terrace
Just love this place
- Lotfi (10/5): - Très bien
- Verified traveler (2/5): - They thought my wife is a prostitute, we were was beyond shocked. The staff was rude and sexist. The hotel has a non refundable policy. We didn't receive a full refund from Expedia. Worst hotel in the world!
- md rakibul islam (4/5): - Without paying online if you go there you have to pay different exchange rate what they ask you.
- Emeline (2/5): Mauvais - éviter à tout prix
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The good thing is that the hotel is very central, close to Djemaa El Fna. However the man at the reception was very unfriendly and wanted to give me a room without bathroom, although i reserved with bathroom. Facilities are basic, but okay for a short stay.
- TomG (8/5): - This hotel is right on the edge of the Medina and everything is very convenient. Lots of action.
- William (8/5): VERY LOUD OUTSIDE - MY STAY WAS OK THE STAFF IS GREAT BUT SINCE IS ON A VERY BUSY STREET ITS REALLY LOUD UNTIL 3 A.M THATS WHEN YOU COULD REALLY SLEEP THE HOT WATER ITS TRICKY WOULD I STAY THERE AGAIN NO
Fernster bette.....
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Dirty sheets, moisture on the wall and ceilling, a clothes sticker on the wall. On top of that, someone was hammering and screwdriving the wall in the morning
Only good thing is location.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Good location for centre of medina but there are other hotels in the vicinity
- Verified traveler (2/5): - I paid but I didn’t stayed on that hotel because everything was in horrible conditions
- Michael (4/5): Over priced - Ac didn’t work the room
Was in poor condition over priced for $20 a night good location tho
- Michael (6/5): Cheap room - Good location in Médina and main square and easy to find .. $15 for private room with working Ac but there was no shower head .. WiFi worked at times ..if it’s just a place to leave your bag and sleep then it’s good enough
- John (8/5): Moroccan Date Night--NOT happening lol - It's not bad for the price, like $12 USD. But if you meet a female who is Moroccan their laws do not permit her to come to your room unless you have a marriage certificate or she is not a Moroccan. Morocco is very liberal but some people take this issue seriously. I meet a beautiful female who wanted to spend time with me and the guy was like NO, YOU NEED CERTIFICATE of marriage!!! In USA this is unheard of, but I respected their laws. But it DID ruin my nite lol. The TVs are outdated, no hot water in rooms.
- Dott (6/5): Centrally locates, but uncomfortably loud outside - It’s a great location for the price, but don’t expect too much. No toiletries or towels are provided in this hotel. Bathroom light is not working in my room. Door bangs against one of the beds. Sheets smell like they weren’t rinsed out properly (sheets were actually hanging from the railing inside the hotel, I guess they do their laundry in house). The manager was very helpful though and the ladies doing housekeeping were quite friendly.
- Bridget (4/5): Doesn't deserve 3 stars. - I'm pretty sure that the mattress in my room had fleas. It was solid, too, as was the pillow. The wiring suspending the light fixture was clearly broken, and held together with a bobby pin. The socket by the sink was hanging out of the wall, the bar in the wardrobe was hanging down one end, so impossible to hang anything (no hangers, anyway). There was never any soap or toilet tissue in the bathroom. The TV had only one channel, but it was NBC movies so to be honest, I didn't really mind that.
Plus side: the hotel is literally right next to everything - seconds from an atm, food, shops and about 1 minute from the souk. It is noisy until about 2am, but that's just Marrakech. The bathroom while not pretty, was very clean. The roof terasse was a nice bonus, and drinks inexpensive. My room was very very cheap, and I think I got what I paid for more or less. But it has a three star rating and Definitely doesn't deserve that.
- Sharmarke booh (10/5): 100% - Good stay
- Bob (6/5): You get what you pay for - Close to Fnaa and souk and the associated noise!
Hall lights on all night shining into rooms.
Dodgy WiFi.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great - Jema3 el fena right at the doorstep !
- mr farah (2/5): 0 stars - The hotel not good at all even bed service with no respect hotel rooms without toilet or shower I don't know how Expedia advertised hotel like this in there website!!!!
- LoyaltyRoyalty (6/5): In need of remodeling - All females use the same one bath room for shower and toilet. Same as for the males with the bathroom for them on opposite side. I had to constantly ask for toilet paper and I almost slipped while taking my shower which is highly dangerous because it has only slipper tile on the floor. Now I know to wear flip flops in the shower if ever experienced again. You have to take shower quickly because the water get cold fast. The are is so small, not make for a plus size period.
- Abdel (4/5): - Nice area close to ever thing nothing work in the hotel
Inter net very poor no fan in the room
Door my room was not safe
- Verified traveler (6/5): Get what you pay for. - Cheap room - cramped toilet facilities with no loo roll provided. Shower had hot water although late risers may not be so lucky (friend was a late riser who had no hot water).
- Ambria (6/5): You get what you pay for - I stayed one night at this hotel because I had a flight leaving Marrakesh the next morning. The hotel was a little difficult to find, but with help from some of the locals (for a small fee), I eventually found it.
I chose the hotel for the low price. I was not expecting much, so I don't think it was a terrible experience. It was fine for one night. The room was small but comfortable. There was a water fixture that was broken and not in use. There were also some cracks and signs of damage that looked old.
There was no bathroom or shower in the room, but there was a shared the facility across the hall.
I probably wouldn't choose this place again unless it was an only option. It wasn't terrible, but I would want to be more comfortable next time.
- zahoor (10/5): Good location - Was worth for the amount i paid..good customer service
- Honest (4/5): Secure but shifty - Handy to use, as transit, but would not recommend to stay more than 1 night.
- Boyko (2/5): No hot water, no towels, no linen. NIGHTMARE!!! - Never book this hotel!!!
It was awful - no towels, no bed linen, no toilet paper in the WC, no hot water at all, flaky WI-FI. When I arrived at 02:00 in the midnight the hotel was closed. I needed to wait 30 minutes for somebody to open the door.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Great Location - You get what you pay for! Excellent location, pleasant staff however limited facilities
- Ken (8/5): - My stay was short and sweet,as i headed to agadir after some days.
