- Dave (8/5): Otherwise we enjoyed the scenery and the friendly staff - The breakfast pancake option was an absolute winner. Room was spacious. Staff had no problem to upgrade us to a bigger room with a view. The reception was very apologetic for the cold water and asked if they could give us a discount to make up for it. We declined as that was not why we mentioned it The sensor for the light in the bathroom is not nice especially at night going to the bathroom everything is lit up. The unit was beautiful but previous guests definately smoked cigars in there which we did not appreciate. Next morning we did not have hot water at all in the bathroom.
- Anne (7/5): A lovely stay in a nostalgic charming hotel. Loved the breakfasts! - It was very charming. The food was excellent. A few things were not working - lights, no lotion in the lotion dispenser in the bathroom, not enough 2 prong outlets for charging phones/watches etc.
- Anouck (8/5): Charming hotel in Swartland region - Friendly staff
Good vibes
Cozy lounge
Nice food Comes with the trademark of the hotel but the room was a bit older and felt a bit stuffy, nice bathroom though!

- Audrey (8/5): Great stay, charming place. The hotel was comfortable overall, but the breakfast was disappointing. The milk provided wa - Gorgeous patio, location and charm Breakfast
- Michelle T (8/5): Comfy stay in the Valley - The Royal hotel is a classic in the Riebeeck Valley. Staff are friendly, location is great. Nice fireplaces in the lounge areas of the hotel. Food and drinks were also great Only downside was that we booked a king suite which are a bit more expensive. Was a bit of a disappointment that we could not use the fireplace in the room. We stayed in these rooms before and was looking forward to using the fireplace but was told that it is not allowed anymore. The room also had a problem with ants. But that all said - we still had a great stay and will recommend it. We noticed that they are starting to clear an area in front of the existing rooms and were told that they are going to add additional rooms. Hope the owners will keep in mind that they shouldn't take the view away from the existing rooms.

- Michael (10/5): The best place to stay in Riebeek Kasteel. No question. - Location was great. Rooms were comfortable and clean and set back from the road. Secure off street parking and breakfast staff service great. Old world charm and service. Nothing
- Alison (8/5): I really enjoyed my one night stay in this hotel, which is perfectly suited to people who enjoy an older (colonial) type - Wonderful staff. Good location and very clean, with comfy bed, pillows and good linen. The verandah provides a great spot to enjoy a drink and snacks, and it makes for an ideal stop-over spot. In room facilities are minimal - no tea and coffee facility, hairdryer etc. The packed continental breakfast they provided for my early departure was not great, and definitely not recommended. However, the cappuccino ‘to go’ was really good.
- Michael (8/5): Definitely stay here. - Beautiful quaint hotel. Fantastic and friendly staff. Great food and an awesome bar. Nothing.

Breakfast quality All good
Kein gesicherter Parkplatz

- PeterHorwing (9/5): Our second stay with the Royal Hotel, a gem - A very special place with good food and a feeling of history
- Danie (10/5): Wonderful old= - I had breakfast on the stoop. Great location to watch people from!
- Elizabeth (9/5): A too short enjoyable visit. Would definitely recommend your hotel. - Charming ‘olde worlde’ feel. Our room was a little dark with the doors closed and no window for air.
- Winnie (9/5): - Lovely, quint hotel in the town centre of Riebeek-Kasteel. Lots of places to find a comfy spot: on the front terrace, inside lounge, cozy bar/restaurant, back terrace or the upstairs pool terrace. All beautifully decorated Would prefer a larger bed.

- Kevin (8/5): - Second time I’ve stayed with no problems All good for one of the oldest hotels in Africa
- fabrizio (8/5): -
- sarah (9/5): Beautifully presented period hotel - like going back in time. - Location, decor & very clean
- Peter (9/5): -
- Kayla (10/5): Historic Charm, Modern Comfort - We absolutely loved the combination of historic charm and modern comfort. The hotel’s beautifully restored colonial architecture and relaxed veranda create an inviting atmosphere right in the heart of Riebeek-Kasteel. Most of all, the friendly and attentive service made us feel genuinely welcome throughout our visit. There was nothing to fault. The entire experience exceeded our expectations.
- Jenny (9/5): Holiday - Perfect location. Beautiful hotel, well kept and friendly staff. Nothing
- REINETTE (10/5): -
- Thomas (7/5): Not meeting our expectations - The beautiful old property has a lot of potential, and is located in right the center of cosy Riebeek-Kasteel. Poor value for money overall. A lot of things to be improved to move up from the current 3-star experience.
Rooms are quite small, no coffee or tea facilities, no complimentary water provided, no hair dryer.
Staff were friendly but rather reactive. Unclear where to park. No towels at the pool. Basically everything has to be asked before it will be provided.
- Roland (10/5): -
- Kim (8/5): Overall a very pleasant stay - The staff were very friendly but they might have been understaffed because the service was very slow at the restaurant. There was no drinking water in the rooms.
- Anita (7/5): - Excellent! Thank You! Mirror in the bedroom
- Wynand (8/5): -
- Owen (9/5): Great place for a quiet and relaxing break - Excellent service, incredibly friendly team. WiFi was occasionally a little unpredictable.
- Diane (10/5): Great location, rooms, staff, food and the G&T's are excellent! - The Royal Hotel is located on the main street and for a historic location we found the rooms to be well appointed and looked after. The veranda is perfect for cocktails, tea and meals - watching the world go by and meeting other guests. The staff were fantastic particularly as my Mum fell ill and needed a Dr which they sorted very quickly. The views out the back of the hotel are lovely and the various options for where you could eat or drink meant you could choose to be inside, outside out the front or out the back. The number of stairs for the elderly or anyone with walking difficulties can be a challenge. I didn't ask for accomodation without stairs but will next time.
- dorine (10/5): Geweldig. Kom zeker terug - Authentieke sfeer. De matrassen. Leek wel een waterbed.
- Samantha (8/5): - Was very charming and the staff were accomodating. They charge you for bottled water.
- Jurgen (3/5): Crap - The town and the people we visited The room was on par with a third rate motel
- Belinda (9/5): Lovely long weekend - Lovely old property in an excellent location. Beautiful decor and gentle music playing. Huge garden rooms. Pretty pool area, lovely to relax. Good massage at little spa tent. Very nice staff, helpful and friendly The food on a few occasions seemed re heated. But on other occasions it was lovely.

- Danielle (9/5): - Prachtig gelegen oud-Victoriaans hotel in Riebeek Kasteel. Goede keuken.
- Sharleen (8/5): Relaxing - Breakfast was delicious and staff is super friendly. Nice and central to quaint shops. Pubs closing at 8 in the evening
- Elaine (8/5): very comfortable and relaxing - breakfast was good and location was very relaxing! nothing
- Justin (8/5): -
- Bev (10/5): Wonderful stay great staff good food - Great location
- STEVEN (9/5): -
- Atkinson (8/5): -
- SEAN (9/5): IT WAS A VERY PLEASANT STAY - EVERYTHING WAS GOOD SHOWER WATER PRESSURE POOR
- Thilo (9/5): -
- Anna (10/5): Fantastic hotel! - We stayed one night in this old style hotel and we were very impressed by how beautiful and charming it is. It is wonderful to sit on the outside terrace and enjoy a nice dinner and delicious breakfast, served by friendly staff!
Definitely a place to come back to!
- Sue (10/5): - The hotel is an amazing experience, like stepping back in time. The breakfast was also exceptional. Staff were friendly and helpful and we really enjoyed the bar/restaurant.
- Gary (8/5): Perfect location to explore the special Riebeek Kasteel area. - Old world charm with wonderful staff who are passionate about being a part of the Royal Hotel team. Amazing breakfast on the terrace. A small gym would be great.
- George (10/5): Historic Hotel Stay In The Heart Of The Swartland. - Lovely stay in a historic hotel in the centre of Riebeek Kasteel. Room was comfortable, the food was tasty and cocktails on the historic verandah were a pleasure. The central location of the hotel allows you to explore a lot of the town on foot. There is a lot to see and do in and around Riebeek Kasteel. Nothing
- Nicola (10/5): -
- lesley (7/5): -
- Clive (8/5): -
- Strydom (10/5): I really enjoyed the peace and quiet and the tranquility - Excellent breakfast served at a convenient time and the fluffiest omelets served by friendly staff. All meals were delicious, well presented at various venues and reasonably priced. I stayed 2 nights longer than planned and really enjoyed the peace and quiet and tranquility of the environment. The staff was friendly and courteous, especially Petra at reception went out of her way to make my stay comfortable. I will definitely go back to the Royal Hotel. The weather - it was uncomfortably hot during my stay - but fully air-conditioned rooms made up for that!
- Heidi (8/5): -
- Elaine (7/5): Definitely room for improvement - Great location, beautiful hotel No tea/coffee making facility in room. Reception is supposed to be open 24 hours for guests to order coffee/ tea, but calls to reception goes unanswered.
Staff stands around discussing guests, openly and very loudly.
- Ben (7/5): A Lovely stay. - Breakfast perfect.Location is what it is.Like Riebeek. My 3rd X Mas sayed in outside rooms before and this time in Hotel. The rooms inside need some attention, wedid not have abathroommat, fridge not properly working.a Lovely stay
- Tanja (10/5): -
- Andrew (10/5): A very comfortable, pleasant stay, with excellent cuisine. - Excellent service, friendly staff, and an environment in which to relax and recharge. We stayed in the older section of the hotel, and since my wife has a wheelchair, the whole hotel and in fact the town, is not wheelchair friendly. Luckily we managed to cope, but the pool had lots of steps and was not accessible.
- Ghia (8/5): Comfortable, old school, lovely experience - Everything We weren’t there for long enough to not like anything
- Sesana (8/5): - Only atmosphere. Perfect location to explore the town. Limited parking on the property
- Benjamin (8/5): - Nice old country hotel in beautiful setting Air-conditioning did not work. Some plugs and lights also not working
- Christoff (9/5): Riebeek Luxury - Beautiful rooms. Lovely views. Nostalgic luxury feel. Friendly staff. Great location. Good breakfast

- Danie (9/5): -
- David Wayne (9/5): We loved the whole experience, wonderful building, decorated beautifully and a wonderful atmosphere. - Loved the old style and the old furnishings. Nothing
- Guest (7/5): Was ok - Very good. All Starter lacked variety
- Nicola (8/5): -
