• Hannah (7/5): Quaint, quirky and friendly, a great spot to experience what Muizenburg has to offer - Great location right on the coastline and perfectly located to so many cafes and little shops to browse, all within walking distance! There was construction in the area when we stayed so is was not as great a view as expected, but that is bot African Soul Surfers’ problem! Just deducted from the experience slightly

• Lizanne (1/5): - I did not stay there unfortunately as i did not feel safe having a loose lock on the door, unsafe area, no safe parking for my vehicle for a single mother with three kids. The main ad stipulates: Comfortable Accommodations: The hostel features family rooms with private bathrooms, balconies, and terraces. Shared bathrooms and parquet floors provide a comfortable stay. I had a family room and all it had was a shower. Your ad misleads the public. When i booked the family unit , the family room ad stipulates: This family room has a private bathroom, a wardrobe and sea views. The unit has 3 beds. I don't have a toilet, i need to walk through the hostel to go to a bathroom. Where pubic hair was seen on the toilet. I am very unhappy about this and require my money to be refunded as i had to source alternative safe accommodation at short notice. When returning the keys the assistant said he will speak to the owner about this. Everything unfortunately.

• Daniel (1/5): Disappointment and unsafe - Nothing The advertisement doesn't look the same as it is. There is no bathroom, you must share the toilet and the shower are not private. How do they expect a family that share a room to shower. You must share a kitchen. And the people are not very frendly at all.I cancel it the same day when I saw it and they didn't want to give my money back or half of it. POOR

So it was just a place to rest as we were brothers spending some time together..Cool and down to earth lodging which was nice Arranged to drop my bags before check in but no one was available at reception, and the 'Be Back in 30min' was a bit long, but it's was not a big issue as there was lots to do in the area

• Johannes (8/5): Always lovely! - This is my favourite place to book in Cape town if I need to just get away from the usual for a day or two. Excellent location! Nothing better than falling asleep safely to the sound of the ocean mere steps away! The best treat in any season. Super affordable and convenient. Due to technical issues (weather related?) my finger print would not save and I had to rely on the person at reception to open for me each time I left the backpackers. This was not anybody's fault, but it was an inconvenience, and it would have been good to have some manual solution.

Felt like a few non-hostel guests were hanging around in the communal area past midnight. Despite the rigid security measures. Could be that someone let them in. There was a little bit of a strange atmosphere I picked up on at one point but perhaps it was nothing.

The fact that you don't have a toilet in your room😢😫with kids....you sharing TV/lounge outside the rooms, sharing kitchen 😐😢when it said self catering I was happy..it should have said communion period. One big room with a big bed and 2 bunk beds😫😢
