Cameron Brisbane (2/5): - The bed was comfortable and WiFi good. I can't say there was anything else positive about it. Deluxe is a total misrepresentation. The entrance door is off a set of covered parking bays. The room is dark, lit only by 3 wall/bedside lights; and cramped -- just enough space in the BiC for one small suitcase and a few items hanging at an angle. Everything else has to go on the floor, The photographs on the website were taken many years ago, with an ultra-wide angle lens, which accentuates space that does not exist. The white walls were a sand colour, matching the curtains and bedding. The whole decor is tired, by about 60 years. The toiler seat was broken, the hook on the bathroom door was hanging upside down by a single screw, there was a radio alarm clock on one side of the bed that was totally dead. The towels were threadbare. Booking.com, you totally misrepresent "Maclear Manor B&B" on your site. It prominently features on the opening page, "A good breakfast" which one would expect from a B&B establishment. When one scrolls through the 74 features, under Facilities it refers to "Breakfast in your room" -- at no additional charge mentioned, while the entry is surrounded by various other facilities at "Additional charge." In your defence, you do split your booking into a long set of options, with or without breakfast. I did not scroll further than "This is the last available room" when our original accommodation feel through and we had to find an alternative at short notice -- and the fact that as a loyal Booking.com customer, I am not used to having multiple choices beyond provision to cancel, which was not appropriate in this instance (booking 2 days prior)..

Jenneth (8/5): More than I expected from Maclear - Loved the delightful Hostess. So accommodating and helpful. The Huge Bed, the Coffee necessities, the enormous bathroom with all the facilities. That the Huge bed only had 3 pillows on it, such a bed should have at least 6 fluffy pillows on it.

Dee told us that it was because my daughter was an adult. But when I booked with bookings.com I booked it for 3 adults with breakfast. And was given an amount to pay which was paid in full. Only to be told upon leaving to pay an additional amount. Not very happy.

Egg cosy on my husband’s on boiled eggs which did keep them warm. Our perfectly adequate room was off the triple garage, which seemed a little strange, and we were disturbed by the early departure of a guest’s car.

Mulder (1/5): Unhappy Guest - Nothing except a little enclosed area for the doggies. We were given a room that guests with animals are given which was fine as we have a puppy, until we got inside. Very old and looked as if it needed a good clean..No light in the bathroom. We were told that there was no time for the light to be repaired. Not all the lights in the bedroom were working. A lamp was put on charge for extra lighting. No WiFi in the room. Only WiFi reception available was outside. We left after an hour and owner advised that she would reimburse me, 5 days later no reimbursement. I was told that she would have moved us if I had told her that we were unhappy. Why put us in the run down room in the first place. ☹️
Annelien (4/5): Won't be back - Reception was efficient and friendly. The garden is well-maintained. There were several oil stains on the bedding, which made us feel the whole unit was dirty. The unit has a thatched roof, so insects fell from the roof onto our bed. The furniture and bathroom also need to be updated, it is very old.

Jenny (10/5): Our final night of a ten-day road trip! Beautiful venue! - Beautiful gardens, secure, friendly staff and great bed. We appreciated their sign boards - perfect to find the place. The spaces were narrow - my spouse slipped and fell onto a chair, which unfortunately broke. 😢 There also wasn’t sufficient space on a table for the crockery (stored in the microwave oven) so when using the glasses, one got bumped off and broke. 😢 These two mishaps spoilt our stay, which should have been our highlight of a ten-day road trip.

Roses in bloom but garden beds empty, a bit sad. We run a holiday rental, and a little effort can transform the accommodation. Best part, were the new fluffy towels.

Carol (5/5): We were disappointed for what we paid. - We opted not to have the breakfast. When we arrived at about 3.30pm and enquired about breakfast for the next morning, we were told that it was too late to order. Very dim lighting in the room which made it very difficult to read, seemed a bit dingy, poor choice of bedding colour, I dont think it was particularly good value for money. Garden was neat though. Magazines in the bathroom very outdated. I think the room needs a revamp. Very small coffee/tea cups. However, towels were folded in a novel way.

Kath (10/5): Lovely quiet nice to sleep and rest. - This place was ideal for me, and my dogs. Private garden fenced to keep them safe. The room was huge and spotless. Lovely small welcome gift, towel decorations and truly a wonderful quiet and safe B&B. Will definitely be back. Dawn was so accommodating, as I was supposed to arrive at 5pm, but traffic delays meant I only arrive in the dark at 8pm, and Dawn was so happy and pleasant about it. Thank you Dawn, you are an amazing person. No improvements, it was brilliant.

From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the friendly and attentive hosts, who went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. The rooms were spotless, spacious, and well-equipped with everything needed for a relaxing stay. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a great night's sleep. The attention to detail, from the cozy decor to the little extras like complimentary coffee and rusks, really made a difference. The tranquil garden and peaceful surroundings added to the charm of the guesthouse, making it a perfect stopover or getaway spot. I highly recommend Maclear Manor to anyone looking for quality accommodation with top-notch hospitality. We will definitely be back! Everything was perfect.
Bert (8/5): Good location for a quick stopover to your next destination - The bed was comfortable. The manager and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was outstanding The streets around the property are riddled with potholes. So drive slow and careful.

Francois (7/5): Good - It is a beautiful place. We booked a double room but were upgraded to a deluxe room as we were the only guests. Very nice room and bathroom, and the bed was very comfortable. A couple of things: 1. The extra milk in the refrigerator was sour. 2. We could not connect to the Wi-Fi and were told to keep trying or reboot our phones. This did not work. 3. Only feather pillows were available on the beds, and some people are allergic to feathers. Luckily, we had traveled with our own pillows.
