- Divesh (7/5): A comfortable stay thanks to a welcoming host, though the property could benefit from some attention. - Host is a warm lady and is so welcoming. Makes for a great sleep over and short stay. The establishments external features and rooms need TLC/upgrading.
- Marius (4/5): They must find better house keeping team, the place is dirty - The owner or manager there was a really kind lady, polite and you can see she is a people's person, she dedicated herself to ensuring proper customer services The place needs proper cleaning, I believe the employees of this kind lady are not doing justice for her, the duvet was smelling other people, there hairs in the bathroom sink and the toilet was not properly cleaned, the shower is having dark mole , it's disgusting for a place you want to relax in, in the morning there was no water coming out if the shower, I had to go without showering, the pool was gross 🤢

- sbuthe546860 (2/5): Devastating - Before we could even arrive, we were told that we made our booking through booking.com but then we were disappointed to be asked if we paid already and while driving, we had to verify the payment, and we believed that they wanted to give the room to other people or nation, on arrival, the room were given was not what we used too even at our home, our room did not have in suite bathroom and i hate walking out the room for toilet, In the room there was no water, we had to asked on the following day afternoon and they claimed they forgot. the bedding was not to the standard; it's like we were in a kid's room.

Definitely no covid protocols observed, room looked like it had not been cleaned recently let alone sanitized. Booking agent paid for dinner but I was told dinner was not served on the premises so I was given a voucher to go to the mall for dinner. The restaurant at the mall made me call the B & B to check if the contract with the restaurant was still valid. Breakfast pack was an egg sandwich, apple and juice. No dietary requests were taken. Bedding was thin and shabby with one standard flat pillow. No water in room. Kettle was empty and had to be filled in the bathroom. Water tasted like it came out of a borehole. Towels were grungy and discolored. Floors were filthy. For the same price I could have stayed in a proper hotel

I normally stay in Richards Bay for one or two nights at a time maybe once per month or so and after trying many different places I found LaRochelle Inn a really pleasant place to stay. Antoinette goes out of her way to make you comfortable. Thank you!

- Anastasios (4/5): Schlechtes Hotel in industrieller Umgebung - Wir mussten das Frühstück zusätzlich zahlen obwohl es in der Reservierung enthalten war. Der Zustand des Hotels ist renovierungsbedürftig. Die Umgebung ist durch Indusrieanlagen dominiert. Der Hafen hat einige nette Restaurants. Das Frühstück war teils nicht genießbar. Ich würde nicht noch einmal dort buchen.

The quality is exceptional- I travel for business in the USA and UK all the time, and this hotel was so special. Perfect because it has everything. What makes it so unique is the manager Rieth, who has created an artistic ambience/style here, which puts 5-star hotels to shame, and she gives you personal help and service that makes you feel so welcome, with lots of advice about the local area. This made it the perfect base, since we were armed with all this knowledge, and the comfort of knowing all is 100% safe within the secured grounds. . serservice

Rooms are kitted out with TV, medium fridge,microwave oven,kettle ,tea and coffee with cups and saucers. Most amazing spiritually uplifting garden with fairies, gnomes dwarfs and a Khoi pond. A well stocked bar, great big dinning room, huge kitchen and 2 swimming pools.The owner Reith Marais is really accommodating and friendly.

Need to cater healthier meals and change breakfast atleast daily or have a menu with 3 different options.

Beautiful, clean, friendly people, not 1 but 2 swimming pools, vouchers to go eat at the harbor by the Dros. Excellent breakfast and so I can carry on and on and on Whenever you are near be sure to book your spot at this venue.

- ushmitah (8/5): Home away from home. - I loved being here. Rieth (the owner) was helpful and friendly from the outset. She went to great lengths to make us feel at home even though we were in fact, very far away from home. I was here with my parents (both pensioners) and we were happy with the basic amenities provided in our rooms. Enclosed parking was also available. La-Rochelle is fairly centrally located for easy access to Alkastrand, supermarkets and the Boardwalk Mall. Being vegetarian, it was important for us to have self catering accommodation. However La-Rochelle is a B&B. However, one of our booked rooms had a small kitchen which was sufficient for our needs. Breakfast was available daily. Rieth went out of her way to make us (as vegetarians) feel at home. She tried her best to attend to our food needs on a daily basis, despite there being a set menu for breakfast. She was also very helpful in giving us ideas on which places to visit. I would recommend that WiFi be made available to all rooms instead of being available in the main areas only. Overall a nice place to stay for those needing an affordable place to stay. Definitely recommended.

- travbiz2015 (2/5): Room broken in to - My room was broken into and my laptop, cell phone and cash was stolen. The owner spoke to me as if it was my fault that this happened. They have no security cameras, no security guard on site and electric fencing only covers half the property. They did not let me speak t their insurance company and neither did they offer any compensation. Disgusted.

There were spider webs behind the bedroom door, the door could also do with some cleaning. The bath/shower could do with a black mould clearner. There was no menu at breakfast, which was also very basic in comparison to other places we have stayed and which were cheaper and more modern with wi-fi and more TV channels. The waitress was not professional or friendly and looked rather untidy and treated some customers with contempt. She also passed cutomers food over another customer instead of walking around and placing it in front of that customer. There were no butter knives. The owner was friendly, but needs to take a closer look at the staff and present a better breakfast with a menu if they want to charge the prices they are. We will not be back. Dissapointed
- nangamsop (6/5): Lovely accommodation - We stayed there for 6 nights over December, 2 adults and 2 small kids. It is a lovely accommodation place and each unit has it's own entrance which is great. We stayed in a self catering unit and even though the furniture was a little outdated and the fridge didn't work so well (it didn't get cold enough) we liked the setup. We enjoyed the 2 swimming pools the most and the kids also had lots of fun! They also have great braai facilities.
