Small point really but bathroom lighting could be a bit brighter. Dinner in the restaurant was not so good and quite pricy. Staff were excellent.

We loved the food, great staff especially Zack in the bar / restaurant who was super friendly and made us feel welcome. If there was anything that could be improved it would be the beds. Ok for 2 nights but we both woke up with a backache. It would be a bonus to have more comfortable chairs in the room too.

Went over and above including offering to drive us in his own car, to our event when we couldn't get a taxi. All staff were super attentive. Great menu and drinks choice. Food was delicious and room hda everything required - safe, iron, fridge, tea/coffee/toiletries. Not applicable. Our stay was great.
- John (9/5): Good spot, good views, great food and really friendly staff. - Great location, on a main road, but rooms at the back well sound-proofed, and enjoyed lovely views over open countryside. We liked the ability to open the windows to get fresh air. Hot water for shower took a long time running water, but we were told at Reception, when we queried this, that they had had a plumbing issue the previous day, which had now been resolved.
- james (9/5): Relaxing visit with very good service upon arrival and whilst dining. - The location is perfect, with spectacular views of the Brecons. Bathroom needs updating and only 1 pillow each in the bedroom.
- jonathan (10/5): If you want to stay at a lovely hotel where they know how to treat a customer this is the place - I Have Stayed at the Plough many times as its close so why travel for miles when you have these great places at your doorstep. They had an Elvis special on this time so lots of locals came and stayed as well. If you want to stay at a lovely hotel where they know how to treat a customer, this is the place, I have stayed in many over the last 10 years. This one has most things you like in one place. I often think if you could have that room, or that breakfast, or that location all mixed into one it would be great. If you like steak (that's me), or if you have specific dietary requirements vegan, gluten free all is dealt with in their stride. Oh and if you have a well behaved pet they look after those as well. I took my daughter here many years ago when she was about 8 and the waiter said "what would you like madam" and she said can i have mashed potato and beans on the side and that's what she got. That memory has always stayed with me. Yesterday i asked for soup of the day with 1 slice of bread and low and behold that what arrived. Simple i know but not so in this day an age so if you stay enjoy... all good

The hotel is very stylish and comfortable. - The breakfast was excellent with many choices on offer, including fresh fruit, yoghurt and cooked breakfast. Staff serving us were really helpful and kind. The room was delightfully furnished and the bed was extremely comfortable. The shower tray did not empty quickly enough which I meant to mention it when we left. Just something that could easily be sorted.

- Helen (10/5): Fabulous Sunday Roast, Lovely Room & Great Staff - We are local to the area but decided to book to stay the night here after a Sunday roast. The staff went above and beyond in getting our room ready early. Our Sunday roast was top notch! Unfortunately, our stay was cut short due to the collapse of one of our dogs, whom we had to rush to the vet hospital in Carmarthen that evening. We would just like to thank all of the hotels staff for their support and assistance, in what has been a very distressing situation.
- Stephanie (8/5): Delicious food and a convinient location, gym facilities and email comms could be improved. - The food, outdoor seating and size of the room was great. Beautiful surroundings. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Sauna facilities. Good Wi-Fi connection. Improvements could be made to: Gym facilities: these were poor (treadmill doesn’t work) and it doesn’t open until 9am, so couldn’t go before work. Sound proofing: I could hear someone in the neighbouring room plugging something into the power socket. The shower also screeched loud so I was concerned about waking others on my floor. On the contrary, there was a wedding on whilst I stayed, with a DJ in the conservatory and I couldn’t hear a thing. No disturbance to relaxing in own space or sleep. Correspondence ahead of visit: Too many emails for confirmation. Booking.com messages also not coherent / didn’t include full information or links to navigate check-in as requested.

- Steven (9/5): Excellent for a short stay or when on a roadtrip. Good restaurant and very friendly staff - Great stay. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great restaurant with good food. Classic dishes, some with a twist. Breakfast was very good with excellent choice in cooked to order plates. Plenty of parking space available and located close to Brecon national park and some local sights such as the Dinefwr park and castle. Definitely recommend a visit. We had a short stay on a roadtrip through Wales, and I can recommend this for the location, easy to get, and everything on site, restaurant and complimentary breakfast.
