- Peter (7/5): Still the best place if you play golf on St Francis Links - The place is still incredible.
Common areas luxurious and a lot of space
Swimming pool nice warm.
The golf course still a very top one on our list. Relatively little invested into maintenance over the years.
As thatchroofs are standard air-condition is not available.
- Angela (9/5): Perfect venue for a short stay with great views and amazing location - Views and location were perfect Needs a fridge for cold drinks
- Angela (10/5): - Location, amenities etc
Very convenient, we'll appointed and suprr secure
- Global Yugan (10/5): - Rooms and breakfast was outstanding. Golf course was awesome and extremely well maintained.
- Talha (9/5): -
- jasmine (10/5): Great location for golfers - Amazing position overlooking golf course
- Angela (9/5): - Spacious rooms & bathroom - very clean.
Good quality linen & toiletries
Beautiful views Air-conditioning would be great and a mini- fridge in the room for cold water
- devinder (6/5): - Breakfast and service was good. However, I was double-charged since Expedia charged my card for all 3 rooms, and then Gina at reception said that only 1 room was paid for. So, we had to pay for the remaining 2 rooms all over again!!! Their credit card machine wasn't working. Therefore, had to pay in cash.
- Eugene (9/5): -
- LYNN (10/5): - Lovely property with super views over the golf course.
The staff were all very pleasant.
The local area was pretty and very safe.
Unfortunately the golf course restaurant/cafe does not serve food in the evening but we drove into the harbour area for a superb meal.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lage Lage Lage - Grosses Zimmer mit Balkon und wunderschönen Blick über den Golfplatz. Sehr freundliches Personal und gutes Frühstück.
- Nikki (7/5): Good -
- Yin-zhe (5/5): It is an OK stay, but overall not pleasant. - The view outside the breakfast lounge is very good, and the cleanness of the room. The female manager (a white woman) was quite arrogant and demanding. The golf lodge is located within a large estate, and the road sign directing to the lodge is unclear, so we spent a considerable amount of time searching for the location in the heat of the afternoon. When we casually mentioned the lack of clear signage, she raised her voice at me and insisted that she had already sent me information via WhatsApp, stating that I would receive a map at the security gate. Normally, I wouldn’t engage further, but her attitude was so unpleasant that I played the voice note she had sent me out loud, so the receptionist could hear as well. It was then clear that she hadn’t mentioned anything about a map at the gate. I pointed out that the issue was on her end, not mine. The entire experience was very unpleasant, and I doubt I will make a booking there again.
- Jane (7/5): Great location for golfers - View of the golf course from the front rooms and very convenient if you are golfing at The Links Breakfast not available before 8am when we had a tee off time for then although we were given a packed breakfast when queried.
Filtered and bottled water provided in rooms but only on the first night of stay was not provided on subsequent nights and tea and coffee sachets not replenished
Cold tea from day before in tea pot and filtered water not replenished on bar counter from day to day and not kept in fridge.
- Jaryd (3/5): Poor -
- Peter (8/5): Very good -
- Caryn (7/5): Lovely stay marred by no bar fridge in room and no aircon - Breakfast was lovely although very limited, we had room 1 which was spacious and the outside shower was fantastic. The staff were friendly and the location good. The rooms need bar fridges. As the property does not offer lunch or dinner or snacks, we hated that we couldn't put some fruit and water in a bar fridge. This was a huge negative. Also the rules about not having visitors were unreasonable. And the fact that we had to sign in as a visitor with security several times a day as we came and went. It was very hot and the ceiling fan was too high and not effective. We needed aircon.
- Candice (7/5): Good -
- Lumka (6/5): Good but could have been better. - The location and club house restaurant Rooms are small, no microwaves
- Sharon (10/5): Fabulous location Very relaxing - The view was fantastic overlooking the golf course. Loved seeing deer and Guinea fowl
- Andrew (9/5): Superb - Sandra was exceptionally accommodating and friendly. 10/10 for her.
- Moloi (9/5): Superb - Great place to stay. They arranged rooms next to each other with my daughters. 10/10 for hospitality.
- Petri (8/5): Very good -
- Evelyn (10/5): good - Clean facilities, on the toilet : The shower floor did not drain well Shoer flooring
- Sandra (3/5): Will not return - Did not cater for our dietary requirements Meals
Attitude of the manager
- Tatenda (7/5): Great place to escape the rat race - This was a great place to stay if you want to just relax and take it easy. The staff were friendly and very accommodating. When I was there it was still cold and without asking a fire was lit in the common area.
- Barend (6/5): Average - Beautiful sceneries and outlook onto golf course Loud noises very early morning from golf course ground staff. Very disturbing and not pleasant at all. Breakfast not to be desired.
- Dianne (9/5): Superb -
- Travis (9/5): Superb -
- Nuno (8/5): Very good -
- Vanessa (9/5): Fantastic service and a spectacular location. - Fantastic service and a spectacular location.
- Michael (9/5): Excellent location, with good breakfasts and excellent service - Location with views over the golf course.
Quality of the breakfast and the service were excellent. None
- Hayley (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paul (8/5): Very good - Breakfast was good
- John (8/5): Very good -
- Joanne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ann (9/5): Excellent accommodation and experience; will definitely stay there again. - Excellent breakfast. Great swimming pool. Peaceful and not too crowded. Great trails on site. Great service from reception to dining room staff. It would have been nice to have a balcony to sit on, to increase the feeling of space in the room. This was well-compensated for, though, by being able to sit downstairs at the pool or outside the dining area.
- Robert (8/5): Beautiful room & a beautiful location - Clean and well kept, nice pool & views over the golf course Too expensive, breakfast very limited & you have to pay extra for each coffee capsule if you don’t want the filter coffee. It’s seems a little cheap of them for how much the room costs.
- Alison (5/5): Passable -
- Belinda (8/5): We had a very comfortable stay and would happily stay there again. - A lovely view over the golf course and nice amenities. Nothing
- Les (8/5): Very good -
- Haylee (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dianne (10/5): Very convenient, comfortable and pleasant stay and particularly pleasant staff. - Breakfast was very well cooked. The staff took the trouble to come in early so that we were able to get to our tournament on time.
- Sinazo (10/5): Exceptional - Everything
- Jeff (9/5): great place to stay, and it’s located on the 1. tee - beautiful place with nice friendly host and nice personnel I was missing the option to eat dinner on site
- Carmela (8/5): Good choice to stay for a night or two if you just come to play golf. - Great location on the golf course. Nice rooms with a view over the golf course. Breakfast was only served from 8 am as we had early tee times we couldn't really enjoy the breakfast. The golf channel isn't available on the TV which we think should be as most of the guests, as we asume, are golfer staying there...
- Paul (7/5): great location if playing golf or attending a functrion at the links clubhouse - omlette was excellent having a sky light in the bedroom and no aircon made it difficult to sleep. Daily amenities and bottled water was not replenished daily.
- Trevor (8/5): Very good - Great breakfast. Honesty bar well stocked and a nice easy way to get refreshments. View across the dunes is fantastic. Friendly staff. Pool area could do with some maintenance: pool itself is clean but the grass surrounds were unkempt especially compared to the pristine golf course that the property is part of. Also not all the pool chairs had cushions…..generally just a bit untidy and not up to the standards of the rest of the lodge.
- Guy (9/5): Superb -
- Tanja (8/5): perfekt spot for playing the Links - perfekt spot, View to Tee 1 rugs and shower sink were dirty
- Tredoux (7/5): Good -
- Zakhele (8/5): Very good -
- Kevin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tony (7/5): Good -
- Angela (8/5): Avery comftable stay, breakfast was good and staff very friendly. - The setting is magnificent Nothing

- Neil (9/5): Superb -
- Gillian (6/5): Pleasant -
- Izak (8/5): Very good -
- Mike (8/5): Beautiful spot - The staff is lovely. Very nice breakfasts. Wifi and TV did not work properly.
- Keneilwe (7/5): Excellent stay at st Francis links golf course with great breakfast - Staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good. The bed very comfortable WiFi didn’t work.
There’s no backup system so, during load-shedding, nothing worked.
- chris (10/5): - The golf lodge was amazing - Views over the 1st tee and 9th green - Rooms and clubhouse were done to a very high standard and Debbie the golf manageress was amazing - she even booked us a meal at a local restaurant which was lovely and the owners came and picked you up and dropped you off. Would highly recommend - Chris from UK
- LUIS (8/5): Bom - Um bom hotel
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Tolle Unterkunft mit Blick auf Tee 1 und Green 9.
Debbie ist eine hervorragende Gastgeberin, die die St. Francis Lodge mit viel Herzblut führt.
- Angela (10/5): Great place and outstanding fruit salad - For us, even as non-golfers, this was the best place to stay in the St Francis area, especially also because the weather was not great, so the beach was not much of an attraction. Great welcome by Elma who gave us the info we needed for the area. Very comfortable bed, great view onto the golf course (we had an upstairs unit, highly recommended), spacious bathroom, we could not have asked for more. And then there is breakfast: We were offered the best fruit salad at any place we have ever stayed at (and we travel a lot). For once there was not just cheap fruit (like apples, oranges and banana) with a bit of tropical fruit as decoration. Everything that is in season at the moment (and it is summer after all), was to be found in this salad. 5* for that. We did not have eggs, so I cannot comment on that. If we ever come into the St Francis area, we will not consider any other place to stay. We also enjoyed a nice walk around the golf course (ParkRun route), right from our doorstep.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Ein wunderschöner Ort den wir nicht vergessen werden. Der Blick auf den Golfplatz zum Meer ist kaum mehr zu überbieten. Wir haben uns sehr, sehr wohlgefühlt.
- Rosemary (8/5): Would not hurry back - When we got to the gate to check they sent us to the club house. I explained that I was checking in and they had no clue about my stay. Rather decided to tell me to come at 18:30 when I asked what for they told me dinner. I explained again that I wanted to check in and was told to go back to the entrance gate to get me key. What an absolute waste of my time and told them that they were incompetent.
- Verified traveler (10/5): St Francis bay a hidden gem - Great location, nice and friendly and very reasonably priced, would go again.
- Sieglinde (10/5): Einfach super!
