Guest Reviews
- Guest (10/5): -
- James (5/5): Nice but not great - Good location, but sometimes noisy I could hear neighboring guests in their room
- TimKirkpatrick (10/5): -
- Mary (8/5): Quaint classic stay - Beautifully located at the foothills and across the street from a park and stream. Also, shared grounds with the sauna/cold plunge folks. I wasn’t keto about the sauna /hot plunge folks. They tended to be louder and messier (litter in back yard) than hotel guests.
- Francesca (8/5): Quiet, simple stay in Boulder - Quiet location, you can walk to the city center. Room was clean and staff was nice A bit pricey considering off season and not central
- Stros (10/5): Amazing views, the rooms was clean, and I would definitely come back - Amazing services and employees were nice as can be. Didn’t have clean towels throughout the stay.
- dayna (5/5): Fun area with responsive staff but conflicting information - Location with parking right outside our room. Responsiveness of staff via text. Office hours and breakfast hours were not as advertised. What was put on the on line link was not accurate. Our room had a slight odor; maybe related to the ac?
- annabQ8723UP (10/5): Cozy Mountain Charm - This was our second stay at Foot of the Mountain Motel and it was just as charming and cozy as we remembered! The location was perfect for us with easy access to hiking, the Boulder Creek Trail, and downtown Boulder. The staff was extra accommodating when we needed a late check out and even packed us with snacks for our hikes! We will certainly be back!

- 278kyleg (10/5): Shangrila - Secret magical place that finds you, not the other way around. Don't keep it a secret though, they need your support.
River, canyon, hikes, Boulder, sauna...
Shangrila

The location is awesome and great for exploring all of Boulder. The staff were absolutely phenomenal. They were genuinely kind, accommodating, and went above and beyond to make the stay enjoyable. Highly recommend if you’re visiting Boulder.
- Vonnie (10/5): Wonderful - The entire staff was extraordinary. I'm trying to come up with excuses to stay there again.

- Q9332KDsues (10/5): Clean, comfortable and charming! Can’t beat the location in Boulder CO - Great location in quaint area of Boulder, CO! Fun “retro” experience/stay - comfortable and close to lovely park and hiking spot. Short drive or nice walk to many restaurants in Boulder.
We came out to visit family who live in the area. Stayed here 3 nights -
Room was cozy and clean. We try to stay at unique spots - this was charming.
We Like to support local businesses when we can. Staff friendly and helpful. Great spot at a good price!

- X9880SErobertp (10/5): One of my happy places! - This is simply the ONLY place I'll stay in Boulder. Quiet, clean, tons of character and it's an easy walk to downtown on the nearby paths. The staff is laid-back and always accommodating.
- K9251TZerikl (10/5): Great spot - Great location, friendly staff, very nice room and place to hang out for a couple of days!
- ttrashden (10/5): Best spot in town - We love the convenient central location and the historic building. Situated on the east end, it's within walking distance to downtown and adjacent to the Boulder Creek Path. Tiffany was very welcoming and helpful during our stay. The sauna next door is a great amenity.

- james (10/5): - The Location and the Old Charm of the Place
- Taunya (8/5): A fun get away - Wonderful Hostess! Felt more like a bed-n-breakfast in a cabin in the mountains than a motel in the city. Beautiful creek just across the small road with a park, kids play equipment and a walking/bike path along the creek. Continental Breakfast was good with: boiled eggs, hot/cold cereal, raisen toast/bagels/eng.muff, packaged muffins/coffee cake, apples/bananas, coffee/tea, juices, and milk. Clean and comfortable rooms. A firepit outside. There were a few cosmetic things in the room that need fixed, but did not take away from comfort and cleanliness.
- 281taunyab (10/5): Bed n Breakfast in the Mountains - The hostess was very a kind teacher for 18 years-very pleasant and made us feel welcome. It felt more like a bed and breakfast in the mountains than a motel in the city The creek across the little road was beautiful. It had a little park for kids and a walking/biking path along the creek. Complimentary Breakfast was good with boiled eggs, bagles/raisen toast/eng. muffins, packaged muffins/coffee cake, hot & cold cereals, juice, coffee, tea, milk/oatmilk, The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. There was some cosmetic things that could be fixed, but it did not affect the stay.
- R1749ZFtimh (10/5): Super Cozy Cabins - Boulder - Mountains Access! - Awesome little boutique motel. Cozy cabin rooms with great Sauna ammenity packages and breakfast! Close to everything in Boulder and easy access to the Mountains! We Definetely Recommend and will be back ASAP!!
- Curious788018 (10/5): Much needed brake in the right place - It was super cozy and our check in experience was super nice It was a nice surprise to find out we could try the embers and ice saunas as part of our stay I will go back for sure
- Jenasis (9/5): great spot - nice breakfast snacks and hot cocoa stand
- nathandR6465QK (10/5): Best Motel with Sauna/Cold plunge experience in Boulder - This motel is great , the staff were very nice , Tiffany the GM was super friendly and helpful and made the check in experience easy and made you feel like you were right at home They have a nice office area with breakfast options and coffee as well as a sitting area around a fireplace . I booked this motel because of the fact that they have partnered with Ember and Ice a sauna and cold plunge company right in the backyard . You get a free 1 hour session for every night you stay with foot of the mountain motel . The only thing I saw as a negative is the walls are very thin and you can hear your neighbors and your neighbors can hear you . But the great hospitality , comfy beds and sauna and cold plunge definitely make up for it . 10/10 will stay here again
- Diego (9/5): - It was cute, beautiful location, easy access. The thin walls. The guy in the room next to us woke us up at 5am having a very loud phone conversation being very inconsiderate.
- Nick (10/5): Loved staying here and will make it my new home in. Boulder whenever I come back! - Super cozy cabins, nice breakfast in their cozy dining area, access to the fire and ice saunas and cold lounge! And loved location on edge of town in mountains across from the park for nice walks! Nothing
- Emiliano (8/5): -
- marcomaria (10/5): - Una piacevolissima struttura molto caratteristica
- Emily (10/5): -
- Michele (6/5): Perfect local for being on foot - Location is great! Walked to main town area every day, trails are close by. It’s a great corner of Boulder, which is why I choose it. The location of the suite I booked-hideaway.
It’s a communal area right outside the door-hot tub and sitting area. Folks can smoke there-I would recommend another room
- Jeffrey (9/5): - Location was perfect for us, who walk a lot and loved it’s closeness to town A fan in the bathroom, and we were hoping for more access to the sauna
- Dawn (10/5): -
- Thomas (6/5): -
- Maneesha (6/5): -
- nickfC9369MW (10/5): My new favorite place to stay in Boulder - I was helping my daughter move up to Boulder and enjoyed a cozy night at the motel. They had coffee and tea available upon our arrival, and were very friendly. The room was spacious and comfy, and we loved the sauna and ice baths at Ember and Ice the night we got in, and enjoyed our breakfast the next morning at the motel.
- Poppy (6/5): -
- Marla (9/5): Decent stay, recommended - The location was fabulous: walking distance to downtown, hiking access. It’s an adorable historic place with sauna access (one hour) and adequate breakfast. Our room was a bit dusty (but clean otherwise). The staffing was off: stressed folks, badmouthing other staff. Hot tub is for suites only, which is not clear on Booking.
- Pedro Pablo (8/5): - Breakfast and comfortable bed.
- Dace (10/5): Perfect family gathering place! - The staff was exceptional! The customer service could not have been better! Rented 5 rooms for 4 days and was perfect for our families Christmas celebration! Nothing really. I wanted a rustic Colorado hotel for my out of town family and beat my expectations.
- DeAnna Hollings (10/5): - Every thing the people are great the place is fabulous and the continental breakfast is good. Thanks for having us. Everythingby
- Jamie (8/5): - Very clean and room was cute. I liked the dog area as well. We tried to upgrade to a suite because on booking it wasn’t much of a bump in price but at the hotel it was over 200 to upgrade
- Christopher (9/5): - Unique
- Chad (1/5): - Two words bed bugs Staff was rude
- Chad (2/5): - Ember's and ice was good I got bed bugs. Don't stay here
- Robert (9/5): - Location Police arrived to kick out vagrant worker who stole key.
- Kathryn (8/5): -
- Juan-Jose (9/5): - The room was clean and comfortable. Good cost/quality balance. Water in the tub lacks of pressure.
- Gerald (10/5): -

- aja526 (10/5): THE VIBETEL - Place is an awesome hidden gem. This is no motel, it’s a vibetel. Really really cool and cozy. This is our 3rd time to stay here. Always love it. The crowd is cool.
- Kaile (10/5): -
- Kareen (10/5): - Unique wonderful vibe
- pauline (10/5): Good location, quiet, friendly staff - Good location comfortable Room is dark, not well insulated I can hear next door snoring
- Guzman (10/5): -
- Julie (8/5): Cozy, unique stay close to the creek - Love the cozy feel of the cabin-like rooms and mom-and-pop vibes of this place. The location across from Eben G. Park and the creek is hard to beat. Free sauna session with the stay, too! Staff is super friendly, decent breakfast, great price. No notes
- nicolas (10/5): -
- Johnston (9/5): -
- Christina (10/5): - Beautiful park and Boulder Creek are just across the street. And it’s an easy walk to Pearl St shops. I would definitely stay again :)
- Hailey (10/5): We would make a trip to Boulder just to stay here again. We loved it so much! - Everything!!!
- Inspiration605703 (10/5): Best Bang for your buck - Best value money can buy. Clean, great service, quiet and good vibes. If you are looking for 5 star, turndown, concierge service then this is not your place. Its rustic, quaint with million dollar views and just outside Boulder. Less then a mile to Pearl Street and closer then that to beautiful, jaw dropping outdoor beauty. Breakfast is great coffee and continental. Exactly what was offered on the website. If you want to save a few bucks, he close to the city and the outdoors and are low maintenance then this is your place
- Skylar (10/5): -
- Skylar (10/5): Booked last minute due to weather conditions, and loved it! - It was very cute and cozy with a retro vibe! No complaints!
- Maryann (7/5): Fine for a one night quick pass though, I like the location - Last minute booking and got a deal These are tiny packed little rooms which is fine just need to know that going in
- Martin (7/5): -
- William (9/5): -
- Nedra (8/5): Nice atmosphere - Location Had to drive to town
- Tour68041627492 (10/5): So Cute and cozy! - So cute! Cozy. Takes dogs. And next to a beautiful river just steps away and trails that are great for walking your dog. Pretty and Peaceful surroundings. And you can park right next to your room, which is always so convenient with luggage. Definitely staying here again!
- Christine (2/5): Don't stay in the Hideaway Suite! - The location is nice for us as we are hikers. Oh my gosh! I always plan to cook a simple dinner where we stay but the Hideaway suite TOTALLY FAILED to meet my needs. The Booking.com photo suggests that there's more there than a hot plate. The pans were old and damaged and the whole space poorly equipped (something larger than a cereal bowl, please!). The kicker was that the shower stall and toilet were not separated from the kitchen! Is this compliant with Colorado building code?
- Claire (10/5): Such a great place to stay, I felt really safe and happy there - The location by the mountains and the sauna Slightly musky smell in my room
- Mcadams (10/5): - Late reservations Early check out
- aubrew2025 (10/5): Glad we stayed! - Cool experience, good location, friendly staff! Bed was very clean and comfortable. Place needs a bit of a deep clean tough.
- T9595LOsamanthak (10/5): Amazing staff - I had a wonderful experience. I arrived early and was unable to check in, which I knew was a possibility and Goni gave me some local places to check out while I waited. The staff was incredible and I really enjoyed my stay there.
- Bipaswi (10/5): - Staff was exceptionally helpful. Went above and beyond with planning hikes and giving useful information
- Madeleine (9/5): -
- Robert (10/5): - Location Breakfast not too special.
- M7554SWhollyc (10/5): More than impressive - I LOVE this place. We booked last minute Monday night and were greeted with amazing staff who were very helpful. They were super dog friendly and invited our pup with open arms. The process was fast and easy. The room was just magnificent; Super cozy and very clean. The shower pressure was A1, along with the heating element for the room. We loved it so much the first night, we booked it last minute the next day. I would HIGHLY recommend this motel and we will be back very soon :)
- Cortney (6/5): - Just older and not super clean. Only one tiny mirror in the bathroom. Grounds were nice though.
- Amanda (8/5): - The location was great, close to the mountains but also the town, and right across from a nice part of the creek where it’s lovely to take a dip or have a little picnic especially when it’s hot outside. There’s also a portable sauna that runs most days I think.
The staff was also nice enough to get us some fresh lower pillows as we found them way too high the first night. Thank you so much!
- Ian (7/5): - Location was good and quiet Walk home wasn't as well lit as I would have liked, obviously nothing to do with the Motel. Also a bit on the expensive side, but it is probably normal for the area
- Lionel (8/5): -
- 387ronnieb (8/5): Great location and views. - Spent a couple of nights here last week at the end of our three week trip around western US.
A lovely, comfortable en-suite room with the most fabulous views of surrounding mountains.
Many trails and a river walk right next to the accommodation.
There’s a very comfortable sitting/ dining area to enjoy a delicious continental breakfast with plenty of coffee, muffins, toast, fruit and cereal should you choose. Thank you for good stay.
- Philip (10/5): - Old motel but pretty well kept. Across the street you'll find the park along side the creek and trail. It's nothing fancy but super cozy.
- Rodney (10/5): - The location was incredible and they rented us bikes! Immediate access to beautiful scenery and a quick ride into town.
- Kipton (10/5): - Access to the trails from the motel is a plus.
- Jeffrey (8/5): - The motel is in a perfect location. Right off of Boulder Creek. There is a park along Boulder Creek right across the street and easy access to the Red Rocks Trail of Boulder that goes through some really neat rock formations. The motel is very rustic. It was built in 1933 and probably has the original wood paneling. While I have no complaints about the main room (with beds (which were comfortable) and desk, the bathroom needs help. Our sink was stopped up, took forever to drain. The tub/shower surround and tub/shower were dirty. And the tub/shower surround very definitely needed to be replaced, or at least re-caulked. The shower pressure however was great and the water did not pool while taking a shower.
- Manoj (10/5): - Great!
- M. (9/5): Great historic and cozy motel, with tiny negative - Location was great, staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was a perfect start to the day. Found some trash behind the bathroom door that the cleaners must have missed, and the offered shampoo and conditioner dispenser was super low on conditioner.
- chrismL1469FD (10/5): Excellent place! - I had an excellent experience at this place. I not only loved the location (conveniently close to downtown Boulder) the cabin, but also the excellent price. The staff was kind and attentive. So I definitely will stay here again!
