Guest Reviews
- Hutton (5/5): -
- Ian (10/5): Lovely traditional Medina Riad - Quiet, Traditional Riad right in the Medina. Huge rooms. Fantastic breakfast & super efficient, friendly staff. It’s a ‘satellite’ Riad to a much larger Riad hotel… we stayed in ‘low season’, so it took a bit if time to gain access since no directly resident staff.
- Olga (8/5): -
- Alessio (1/5): Do not stay here - Per la prima volta nella mia vita, niente.
- Abdessamad (3/5): Siamo scappati via.

- Romina (10/5): -
- jeannefer (1/5): - My experience at this riad was very disappointing and fell far short of my expectations. Upon arrival, the place was completely deserted: there was no staff in sight and the atmosphere was eerie, as if it were abandoned.
In my first room, the heating wasn't working. Later, there was a power outage, so I was moved to another room, which was completely flooded, an unacceptable situation.
Furthermore, the app indicated an €8 fee, but reception charged me €10. I paid the extra amount, and the next day they didn't refund it.
I had also paid for breakfast, and since I had to leave early, they assured me it would be prepared beforehand. However, all I found was some fruit wrapped in foil, with no water or any other beverages.
- Elene (9/5): - We absolutely loved staying in this traditional house, called a riad — it truly lets you feel the spirit of Morocco.
Abdula was incredibly kind, attentive, and always ready to help. He is such a wonderful person and made our stay even more special.
The rooftop restaurant is beautiful, with a lovely atmosphere and a great experience overall. Everyone working there was so kind and welcoming.
The location is also perfect — very convenient and ideal for exploring.
- tanja (7/5): - Good location, nice breakfast at palais de fez
- Cullum (8/5): Lovely room. Excellent breakfast on the terrace of Palace de Fes. Needs a couple of things to make the whole stay excell - The property is linked to the Palace de Fes which means that the breakfast you get is on the terrace of a lovely large 5* star hotel about 2mins walk. The family suite was also very nice and had large ceilings. The fact the children's beds were on a mezzanine meant that it felt even bigger. Really good hot showers. Although it had a roof terrace it wasn't well particularly welcoming so seeing the evening sun meant walking to the Palace de Fes. Additionally there was a fountain that was lovely sound during the day but was turned off too late at night which was disturbing

- Yasir (10/5): - Very good stay.
Muhammad is very help full. Nice
- Luigi (7/5): - Staff numeroso e abbastanza cordiale e possibilità di servizi aggiuntivi. Buona colazione.
- Fatuma (5/5): -
- Elma (10/5): - Very friendly stuff, everything was super. It was a bit cold in the riad, but that’s completely normal for December. Thankfully, there was an extra heater, so we were absolutely fine.
- Edda (10/5): -
- Sabine (6/5): - Auf einer Rundreise im Dezember
war dies mein 3. Riad.

- Andreina (10/5): Great service, amazing hospitality, we felt welcomed. Thank you - The hospitality was top notch N/a
- David (10/5): -
- Ashley (2/5): Do not recommend - Not this property, but the other location where we had breakfast was beautiful and breakfast was delicious. Property was difficult to find, although we alerted them of our arrival time nobody was there to greet us or check us in. Thankfully another guest was there to open the door for us and we then had to sit in a dark lobby and wait for staff to arrive to do our check in.
The room did not appear very clean and there were roaches both in the bathroom and in the pool.
We had to walk to another hotel location for breakfast, which was not clear when the booking was made.
- Judith (7/5): -
- Débora (4/5): Not as expected - The staff were amazing and the location is good It smelled bad all the time (like sewer), we had cockroaches in our room, the power sockets were all coming out, the room was not comfortable, everything felt old and sad. For the money paid for it I was expecting more (stayed in better riads where I paid less)
- Hana (9/5): - Really nice place inside of medina, kindly staff. Breakfast in another hotel, perfect view.
- Aurora (7/5): Very beautiful place but not good for gluten free people - The Riad is very very beautiful. The location of the breakfast restaurant is stunning and the rooms were very comfortable We asked for gluten free options for breakfast and despite saying they could accommodate the request, they only had fruit and eggs. I wouldn’t complain if it was an average Riad but from a 5 star place, I would expect a bit more than that. My partner was basically not able to have breakfast.
- Ernesto (10/5): -
- Antoinette Uys (10/5): -
- Andrea (10/5): Un sogno ad occhi aperti - Posizione ottima. Ottimo cibo. Camera ampia e spaziosa.
Personale gentilissimo, accogliente e premuroso, sempre pronto a soddisfare ogni richiesta.
- Marco (10/5): Would comeback five star hotel and excellent city. - Very nice staff, everything very clean, provided very good services, food was very nice and we were very well treated.
- Lorenaguire (8/5): Un riad precioso, personal inmejorable.
- Carlotta (8/5): -
- Badre (10/5): - The hospitality and the service of the host lalla Samira and Bouchra.
We had booked Riad Almaz, but we were offered to stay in Dar Tazi, which is also owned by them.
We really enjoyed the rooms and the beautiful scenery on the terras. And the delicious breakfast.
I will definitely recommend this to my friends and come back again next time.
- Ilia (7/5): -
- Georgina (5/5): Riad disappointing - Never saw one member of staff. Riad was ok in itself. Children screaming 24/7. Parent screaming at the children 24/7. Got moved to another property for last two days which was much better Children and the parent screaming 24/7. Literally 24/7. Loud music. Hardly relaxing
- Byron (6/5): Definitely recommend - Nice stay with unique location and riad. Easy access to main riad with awesome food and beautiful view from rooftop terrace. Very clean.
- William (10/5): - The Riad is beautiful. And Abdul made us feel like we were the only people there. He’s a consummate host who has mastered the art of hospitality. We loved it.
- Engelina (9/5): Authentic Riad in the medina - Beautiful Riad at a good location. The people are really friendly. The Riad belongs to hotel palais the Fez. Breakfast is over there on the rooftop. Great location. Nothing. It is just that the 5 stars in Marocco are different then our standard. But it was just great.
- Safaa (7/5): Beautiful Riyad . Nice breakfast , gréât location - Some
Noise from roof to be fixed next time
Otherwise
Perfect stay
- Samasuk (9/5): acceptable with price - pro: good location
con: difficult to find the place, in a maze and without big notice
- Mariana (6/5): Friendly people, room was very clean but shower make our stay very difficult, water was cold and they change us from the - They changed me to another building I can’t talk about this road Almaz. In the other building, we couldn’t have a shower because was broken.
- Myisha (10/5): The staff at Palais de Fès Suites & Spa/ Riad Almaz, led by the exceptional kindness and dedication of Ms. Bouch - Staying at this traditional Riad in the heart of the Medina was an experience I’ll cherish forever, thanks in no small part to the extraordinary Ms. Bouchra. From the moment I arrived, her warmth, professionalism, and genuine kindness made me feel like family. She greeted me with a smile and a cup of mint tea after a long day of travel, setting the tone for what would be an unforgettable stay.
Ms. Bouchra is truly the heart of this Riad. Her tireless dedication and attention to detail ensured that every aspect of my visit was flawless. Whether assisting with any request or going above and beyond to accommodate unexpected challenges, her patience, compassion, and pride in her work shone brightly. She made me feel cared for and valued in a way that far exceeded my expectations, transforming my stay into something truly special.
Beyond the exceptional service provided by Ms. Bouchra and the staff, the Riad itself is a masterpiece of Moroccan artistry. When the curtains were pulled back upon my arrival, the interior took my breath away. The central courtyard, with its intricate arches, ornate wood carvings, and elegant mosaics, is a stunning testament to traditional craftsmanship. The vibrant tiles adorning the walls and fountains create mesmerizing patterns, each one a unique story of Moroccan heritage.
Located in the heart of the Medina, this Riad offers the perfect balance of immersion and retreat. The bustling markets and lively culture of the old city are just steps away, yet inside the Riad, a peaceful oasis awaits. The tranquil sound of a trickling fountain and the warm glow of natural light cascading through the courtyard create a sense of serenity unlike anything I’ve experienced.
This Riad is not just a place to stay—it’s a celebration of Moroccan culture, history, and hospitality, all brought to life by the remarkable Ms. Bouchra. Her extraordinary care and dedication elevate this property to something truly magical. Nothing!
- Abdul (10/5): Exceptional - Bushra was an amazing host she did everything she could to make us feel comfortable The location was abit out the way but overall excellent service by the staff
- Abdul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rem (10/5): Exceptional - Great stay, excellent service and hospitality by the staff their. Breakfast was nice and enjoying. Great location to the Medina/souks
- HO (10/5): - Everything is good. The only issue is the parking.
- Ken (8/5): Very good - Location was great, room was also comfortable. They didnt understand us all, most of the staff only spoke French and partially English. Sometimes asking for something was very hard.
- Gogo (6/5): Pleasant -
- Louis-Marie (10/5): Super ! - Personnel très sympathique et arrangeant !
Je recommande très fortement !
- Lara (7/5): Good -
- Cosimo (10/5): Great family room in Beautiful Riadplace just outside the old medina -
- Helen (5/5): Passable - It was quiet clean ,the staff were warm and attentive. And the breakfast was good. The WiFi was terrible, I had to work to another property to have breakfast, no staff on site most of my stay there.
- Hemmi (7/5): Good -
- Eirian (8/5): Amazing - Absolutely incredible Riad, really beautiful, the personnel is amazing and will do anything to make your stay perfect. Very good breakfast as well ! There is absolutely no sound insulation, if you are unlucky (like us) and there is a family with little Childs, you will live the full toddler experience...
Also don't do the tour with the "official guide" that the hotel gives you, he doesn't really care about history, it's more of a visiting his friends shops tour.
- Andrewdoehring (6/5): An Ok Riad in Fez - That breakfast was prepared daily and the size of the rooms were nice. The wifi worked well and the art was interesting. The sister property allowed us to use their driver to get to the mall for free. Going and returning, I just tipped him a few Dirham. The live-in family had a toddler that stayed up until late in the evening. He screamed and ran around like the property was his house and not a hotel. The family was nice enough, but it was a very unprofessional dynamic. It felt uncomfortable to be using a pregnant live-in nanny for all of our hotel needs. Also, the pool was dirty so we couldn't use it. And the photos are staged. The furniture and blankets on the beds are not as nice as they are seen to be in the photos. Also, the Riad was a bit off the beaten track. If you like taking winding roads to get there and want somewhere isolated then this is your place, but it doesn't offer Terrace coffee services or dining like most other Moroccan hotels and it is a pain to get to with multiple bags.
- Abu (10/5): Please, I don’t have nothing to say about it was amazing, beautiful lovely lovely people - The reason, I like the place is beautiful and beautiful service and the people who work in there helpful as well thank you special my friend. Zakaria I like everything and the location as well you can’t be boring is very nice
- Andrea (8/5): Very good -
- Simonajdoenvang (10/5): Beautiful place, amazing hosts and good breakfast - Everything was amazing. The family who runs the place were extremely kind. The riad was historical wirh original fixtures. The breakfast was good and local, and the ambiance was everything we were looking for staying in Fez (4 nights) Nothing we didn't like
- Lewis (9/5): Wonderful riad near the main Medina - Absolutely stunning facility with very large room and essentially a private pool
Amazingly beautiful and carefully cared for riad
Amazing breakfast
Beautiful view in courtyard and from the rooftop terrace of the main facility The main hotel (palace Fes) operated the riad that we were staying in. They had the main facility and then 3 roads in the Medina. It would have been very helpful to know that we should check in at the palace Fes and they would take us to our riad. We didn’t know this and had to ask many locals to help us find the nondescript unlabeled door in the Medina. No one was present when we knocked on the door and resulted in a uncomfortable wait for women in an alleyway while the caretaker was located
- Rohit (10/5): Perfect to experience the real culture and the city - Authentic house with many rooms..in the heart of the city which gives you the true experience of the life and culture in Fez.
Additionally, the breakfast is served in an adjacent riad (a few minutes walk) which has superb view of the whole city.
- Rochelle (9/5): Superb - The staff was the best part of the experience. It was a bit tricky to get there due to the complicated alleys (which was the case for most riads in the area) but the staff picked us up from a location we specified when we got lost to help us get back to the riad. They were very nice and really made our stay more comfortable.
- Thomas (7/5): good value but needed more information - location close square and restaurant 4th floor room with no notice. we are elderly couple and would have chosen room on lower floor if informed. also, bathroom was ladder down
- Borz (2/5): Would not recommend. - The property was not at the address that they provided. It was 10 mins from the original address on some shady streets. I received the key from the main entrance only in my last day. When I arrived the beautiful pool that you can see in the images had really cold water, impossible to use. There are no photos of the room I stayed in on the website. Wi-Fi was not working in the room, only in the main area. No batteries for the AC remote. No toilet paper. There was no soap for hand washing and the toilet was not well cleaned.
- Oscar (10/5): Super warm staff - Great Experience - I really appreciated the warmth welcome from Abdul, it was midnight when we arrived and our 4 year old daughter was really hungry and he went to get some food for her without hesitation.
The personnel from the Restaurant and the reception, they all make sure you feel like home.
We had breakfast and dinner in the Palais de Fes restaurant and they were lovely with our daughters bringin special food for the baby really fast , always really warm with them and allowing them to play even when they were a little bit "loud/tired" after all day walking. The name of the Riad in Booking is not the same than the name people tell you in reality, not really a problem but to ask for directions, nobody knew about Road Almaz, it was called something like "Riad Envy" , luckily Abdoul was there to help or the other staff from the Palais de Fes, they would call from their phones or takes directly to the Riad
- Lyisa (8/5): Very good - We had a very nice stay at Riad Almaz. It was difficult to find our way to the Riad so we recommend to phone them in advance. The room was very comfortable and spacy and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The carefully prepared breakfast is served at the terras of the Palais de Fez, which is a 2 minute walk from the Riad. We took a trip to Chefchouen with the lovely driver Abdul, which is a nice man. Near the Riad, there is a nice restaurant “Almandar”. We like to come back next time!
- Benjamin (9/5): Superb - we loved the Riad, and really enjoyed the large selection of terraces we could choose from. the staff were excellent and so happy to help with anything. a wonderful stay
- Ezephra (8/5): Very good - The staff were extremely caring and helpful. The place looks nice and accommodating. It's not something I didn't like, but since they don't give the key for the main entrance... We need to get the concierge to get us in. It's just inconvenient. My heart goes to them, especially with our inconveniences.
- Juris (6/5): It was a decent one night's stay. - The location is very good, inside the Medina.
The breakfast was amazing, they allow to eat in their beautiful rooftop restaurant.
The staff were very friendly, helping and welcoming. The bathroom had a lot of issues, it was below the room therefore accessible through a staircase and had no doors so it smelled a bit in the room. It also feels like everyone in the Riad can hear what you're doing in your room.
- Jenny (8/5): great place to stay. super sweet staff - beautiful comfortable home no WiFi.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good Riad with poor service - Pros:
1. Very large room and very well decorated; hotel was very beautiful
2. Good breakfast spread - bread, orange juice, coffee and tea, omelette and much more
3. Location was close to the medina and a short walk to the centre
Cons:
1. Not professional at all - they did not adhere to their own breakfast timings, did not provide a final bill and just verbally told us the amount to be paid
2. Poor service - bathroom was not clean when we checked in, left the Riad unattended sometimes and we had to wait for them
- felden (8/5): - be careful in the restaurant... 60 euros for my (recommended)meal was outrageous ...
