• trailgirl10 (8/5): Excellent location for the Peace Park and Museum. - Location of the hotel was perfect, just a short walk from the Peace Park and Museum and on a tramline from the train station. We arrived at 3.30pm to be told our rooms weren't ready (3pm check in) but fortunately they were able to sort this. The rooms were very compact with not much room to manouevre, but were comfortable. Breakfast, with both Japanese and European choices, was served early which allowed us to get to the Peace Museum as it opened and to avoid the crowds. Staff were very friendly and helpful and we were able to store bags after check out. The hotel worked well for us for 1 night.
• BJ (8/5): - Older hotel with very small rooms, even by Japan standards. 2 rooms we booked had black mold in bathrooms. There is no seal between tub and shower wall, making for a very easy mold trap. Staff did their best and did move us to new rooms.
• A7117ACinnap (4/5): Room service - Although Hotel Kuretakeso Hiroshima is rated as a 4-star property, my stay was below expectations. The room was very small, even compared to other Japanese hotels, and the only window faced directly onto a wall, which made the space feel closed and uncomfortable. In addition, there were no English TV channels available, and the television did not allow connection to YouTube or screen mirroring from mobile devices. For international guests, this lack of entertainment options is disappointing.

The room was small, and the awkward position of the bathroom made it difficult to use what space there was. Breakfast was good with a lot of variety, but the coffee was only ok. There were free drinks in the evening, but you weren't allowed to sit downstairs to drink them, instead having to take them back to the room. The price was very reasonable so the hotel was excellent value for a short trip, but I wouldn't stay here for more than a couple of nights.

• Jennifer (10/5): - A fairly nice, budget-friendly hotel in a great location—within walking distance of Hiroshima’s top sights. The rooms are compact but not overly tiny, offering a comfortable stay for the price. Decent breakfast spread, happy hour and nice staff.

• Nicole (8/5): - This is a decent hotel, on a tram line, conveniently located to many of the sites of Hiroshima. Staff were friendly and helpful and will help with receiving your luggage if you decide to forward it to the hotel. Rooms are clean but very small, by far the smallest room we encountered in Japan. The beds were hard as rocks, very low to the ground, and the mattresses slid around on their bases. There is a step up into the unit bathroom that made going to the bathroom at night treacherous, and the slight step up to get out of the bathroom made getting out even more annoying. Breakfast is a decent mix of Japanese and Western options, and varies a bit from one day to the next.
• Dominika (10/5): - Really great hotel. Location is superb for visiting sights. A few tram stops away from train station, clean, nice, with onsen. The mattress was rather hard, which I like. Cons: Breakfast was not worth it in my opinion, also the cooling system was quite loud in the room. Still definitely worth the price.

The only negative wasn’t had a dirty pillowcase that had a big red stain of make up or blood. I was disappointed because I used that pillow the first night. But they changed it right after I told them.

A little complimentary drinks on the 1st floor was nice. Although I did not have a chance to use it, they have a service to keep the luggages for a while after checking out. Staff was very nice, communicative and helpful. If I will have another chance to come back to Hiroshima, I would like to stay in this hotel again.
• claire (10/5): - Spotless and modern hotel. Extremely close to peace memorial park and the pier to get a ferry to Miyajima island. Lovely staff who are so helpful. Room is lovely and like all hotels/hostels in Japan amenities such as shampoo etc are provided. There is also a coin laundry which is handy if you are travelling between cities on your Japan trip. Would stay here again!

• Joshua (8/5): - I spent only two nights in Hiroshima and I wish I could stay longer, it’s a wonderful city and a real highlight of my tour across Japan. The hotel is located in the perfect spot to explore the city, take a boat to Miyajima, the castle and the peace memorial park and museum. The hotel was great, the room was bigger than most others I’ve staying in so far. The bed was a little too stiff, but that wasn’t a big problem. The only real complaint is that they have music playing in the hallway, and I’d rather they didn’t, as it starts very early in the morning and plays late into the night (it may be 24 hours, I dunno) and it made it a little hard to fall asleep. It’s not loud, but it’s loud enough to always hear a little.

• Jürgen (6/5): Muss nicht - Leider sagen Bilder nie die Wahrheit. Das Frühstück ist durchgehend kalt, nur der Kaffee und die Suppe sind heiß. Auch sieht der Frühstücksraum auf den Bilder viel größer aus als er ist. Im Zimmer ist es laut und zugig. Die Qualität des Fensters lässt zu Wünschen übrig.

Staff was helpful, stored our bags (and many others') after our early arrival. Also printed a document for me! Breakfast was good, many options, Japanese and western style. Ice machine in kitchen area available all hours. Room very comfortable, not very large but fine. Free drink at happy hour!

• Billy (10/5): - Got the "King" bed room which is really two twins pushed together with another layer on top but didn't really matter to us. Clean, had the proper amenities. Only thing I didn't like was the bathroom had a huge step, almost a foot off the ground. Definitely could be dangerous in the middle of the night. Breakfast had a LOT of good options I couldn't even try everything. They even had unagi rice. Coffee machine was unfortunately broken but they fixed it by the time breakfast was finished. They also had free pour drinks during happy hour but you're limited to just one. Walking distance to the Hiroshima peace park and the bus/tram stations are also right outside. The staff were also kind enough to let us leave our bags there a few days ahead of check in while we did a separate leg of our trip which was really nice!

• Brenna (10/5): - The property is in a central location to major shopping, restaurants, and tourist locations like the a-bomb dome and peace memorial park. The staff were very friendly the room was also very clean. Definitely recommend.

The onsen is a great way to relax at the end of the day. Our only feedback was that we had to use the dryer multiple times in order for our clothes to be dry. Doing laundry took a very long time.

Friendly staff, pleasant and clean rooms, and all the amenities needed for a short stay. Very close to Peace Park, transport and shopping.

Had to pay for bottled water for room - all other hotels that I stayed at offered complementary water. Would chose another hotel if staying again in Hiroshima. Only good thing was room was clean.
• Thi Thanh Phuong (8/5): - Everything is really good about this hotel = location, cleanliness, safe and quiet, room has everything you need including hairdryer, mini fridge, kettle.. but the TV cannot play USB even though theres a USB port and the common area is very small. The chairs are packed away so you cannot sit in the area at all, if you grab a drink from happy hour 6pm to 8pm, you need to go to your room to enjoy. Other hotels with happy hour, allow you to sit in the dining area to enjoy your drink and eat your dinner or snacks. Nevertheless, it was a pleasant stay but I would choose a different hotel if I come back to Hiroshima.

• Tiang Sing (10/5): Nice and convenient hotel to stay in Hiroshima - Great location, right next to street car station and made taking public transport even to Miyajima Island very convenient. Although I drove a rental car, I found travelling around Hiroshima easier with street car or walk. Parking at hotel is not cheap (1500 Yen per day) - that was the negative about this hotel. Otherwise I was quite happy with my stay.

• Craig (10/5): - Had a great stay at this hotel. The facilities are clean and staff welcoming. The rooms are standard with a bed, TV, table and bathroom. The bathrooms have quite a high step to get into but we had no trouble with this. The onsen on the second floor was a nice to have, it is small but quiet and tattoo friendly. The breakfast buffet has a wide variety of options though there can be queues for entry around 8am so give yourself plenty of time or head down early. The “happy hour” was a nice touch, guests can help themselves to a free drink between 6-8pm and had a wide selection. Unfortunately a large tour group ignored the 1 drink rule and depleted the selection one of the nights. The hotel is within a short walking distance of the peace memorial park, museum and dome. There is a tram station straight outside the front doors for easy transit around the city.

• Frotripping (8/5): Good Hotel and Great Location - A few minutes walk to the Hiroshima Peace Park and on a main transit line, this hotel is located close to good restaurants, shopping and 15 walk from Hiroshima train station. They have nice clean rooms, good customer service and have a bike share right outside the hotel. They offer breakfast as well for an additional cost. I really liked the location situated on a main street and close to everything that I needed. The bus to get to the ferry to spend a day at Miyajima is also very close walk right beside the Atomic Bomb Dome in the Peace Park. They had very nice robes a basket to toiletries in the lobby to choose what you need. They also offered luggage storage. Staff were very kind and helpful.
• andyhum (6/5): Small rooms but well positioned. - Very small rooms but well equipped, view of wall outside. The staff are very friendly and helpful. There is a big step up to the bathroom which is a bit dangerous. The hotel is situated near to restaurants and convenience stores which is great.

The rooms are clean and size is good enough for 2 persons to move around. Welcome drinks are provided at the lobby for 2 hours. There are few carpark lots and more lots are available across the road for ¥1000 for parking overnight.

• jewang820 (8/5): A Pleasant Hiroshima Hotel in Otemachi Area - This hotel is located in Otemachi of Hiroshima area, a quiet neighborhood and is not far from the Peace Memorial Museum and Park. I think there is a lot of people and foot traffic around Fukuromachi and Hondori area, so I appreciate the closeness to it and yet, Kuretakeso is in a quiet place. There are couple of street car lines and buses stops by the hotel, easy to go to places. What I appreciate the most is the free breakfast each morning. The buffet has Japanese and Western style foods, even unagi bowls! And then there is nightly happy hour too! Oh, the coin laundry is great because it’s separate washers and dryers, not the combo machines. I absolutely love this hotel and would recommend it for everyone.
• pspr0g (8/5): Small room, great view - Room is small, almost APA small, but fine. Usual pod bathroom, which has a large 1/2 foot step up to it. I was given a room on the 12th floor, so had a great view over Hiroshima towards the Peace Park. There's a USB charger by the bed, and a multi-socket charger was plugged into one of the sockets by the desk. Aircon and fridge of course, both worked as expected. So, pretty good and excellent price (around £40)

Ridiculous for those with bad knees or backs. Would not recommend due to size of room although very close to city centre.

• Clarissa (10/5): - Walkable to the Peace Memorial Museum. With the streetcar (tram) 1 min walk away, it was easy enough to get to a JR station. The buffet breakfast was amazing. They served unagi (smoked eel) on both mornings we were there and many other traditional Japanese side dishes like burdock, which we were glad to be able to try. There were also western breakfast options available. A complimentary happy hour free alcoholic drink in the evenings was also appreciated by us. The room was a bit cramped compared to other hotels, but I’ll stay here again because of their excellent breakfast and location.

• JACK (10/5): Good Value Continent - Stayed here as part of my solo trip to Japan to treat myself to a nicer bed and my own shower/ toilet. Rooms nice shower is good staff amazing check inn and out machine microwave on my floor I assume everyone has one laundry services available too . The hotel Is next door too a Lawson store a family Mart and 7 eleven Nearby in addition a street car station too which makes it very convenient. The only issues I had were that I could hear corridors music playing at night other than that good stay
• Andrew (6/5): - They initially sent me to an unavailable room. The new room was clean, but the window view was terrible (i.e. literally facing the side of another building). The window itself wouldn’t close all the way, so I either had to keep the heater on at all times or let my room quickly freeze. The staff are kind and let you store your bags before the check-in time.

They bang their door so loud multiple times. Had to tell them to keep it down but didnt really stop... so they have thin walls... however other than that, I would like to say a huge thank you to the front desk guy who assisted us on our check out. His englishwas limited but was very kind and amazing!!! He helped us with sending my luggage and even called a cab for us. Great customer service from that gentleman. :)

• Colin (8/5): - Good location, close to a tram stop and and easy short walk to major sites. Room and bathroom were good but quite small.
• Britney (10/5): - Walking distance to some shops and a bus stop. We were able to hold our luggage there after checking out which was convenient. Over nice room with a view and super clean.
• Alan (10/5): - Great place with great helpful staff, and the option of a wonderful all you can eat breakfast. They had great panko fried oysters when we were there, among maybe 40-50 other dishes. The place is almost across from the #1 streetcar stop at Chung-mae, so very convenient from the JR stations too. It's wonderfully central and short walking distance from the Int'l Peace Park, and the Hondori dining/shopping district.
• Verified traveler (10/5): Great location and comfort - The hotel was very comfortable, and the baths were very clean Staff was friendly, and we also were very close to Hiroshima Peace park.
• Verified traveler (8/5): Perfect location - The hotel was in a perfect location and the staff went above and beyond to help! The room was very well sized and bed was large. The only downside was the bed was slightly uncomfortable and there was only one pillow per person however, I would stay here again for the service and location.

• Robert (10/5): - Really great location. Tram in front of hotel, 3 different convenient stores close by and a 24h restaurant 2 stores away. Fresh towels everyday and walking distance to the Peace Memorial Park.
• James (8/5): - When I got there the room was very clean and was cleaned for my second night as well. They also give you pajamas to use if you wish. The staff were very friendly and has sheets of paper they could use to help them speak English. One thing to note is that the hotel's tv in English says the breakfast is free. This is not true, it's ¥1200. Also the view was just of another building. Overall no complaints I thought it was a great experience.
• Sybille (6/5): - Pros: Location: 5 minute walk to the Peace Park and museum, right next to a tram stop for easy access to/the train station. The onsen was lovely. The downtown with restaurants was around a 10 minute walk. Cons: You have to step into the bathroom (it’s ~8 inches off the ground), the AC is directed right at the top of the bed, so you have cold air blowing at your face all night or anytime you are sitting on the bed. The room and bathroom were the smallest we have stayed in while traveling in Japan over the course of our 4 week stay. A bit cramped for 3 nights but would be okay for a night.

• LUIS (10/5): - I was completely satisficed with the hotel and everything is automatic in a screen but there are assistant employees
• BreShawna (8/5): Would recommend - Overall, a great hotel and value! The rooms were clean and the hotel offered several amenities including a bathhouse. The only downside is that the staff didn’t speak any English and the rooms were very small, it was a little difficult for two people to move around.

• Verified traveler (6/5): Pleasant place but rooms less than ideal - Nice staff and clean/new hotel but the room was less than ideal. The AC pointed directly at the bed which was not great at night when it remained hot, so the options are either getting your face blasted with AC or staying hot throughout the night. Additionally, the bedding felt a little moist as if it hadn't been completely dried, and was a bit smelly too.
• Verified traveler (6/5): - I really wanted to like this hotel. In theory, it has so much going for it. It is relatively new. It offers happy hour and breakfast. There is a public bath. It is close to public transportation. However, this hotel just falls short. Although breakfast was not crowded, the offerings on the buffet were few and seemed to always need to be replenished. According to the signage, both Japanese and Western style breakfast items would be offered. There were only Japanese offerings. The selection for Happy Hour drinks was varied and self-serve. If there were snacks offered, they were not obviously displayed. There was a rice cooker but rice for a happy hour snack seems odd. Rooms are clean but sparsely decorated. Besides breakfast, it is hard to pin point where the hotel fails, it just is lackluster.
• BZimm08 (10/5): Wonderful Night Stay Here! - I stayed at this hotel for one night mainly based on price and location. The location was great, not far from the Peace Memorial and Peace Blvd. Price wise, it was cheaper then other hotels in the area. I checked in and the employees were very friendly and spoke a little English. I got free beverages and could not have been happier. The rooms were pretty spacious and very clean. I thought the bed was comfy as were the pillows. The bathroom was nice, no complaints with the room. The breakfast due to covid is no longer a buffet, instead they prepare trays for you. The food was good and plentiful. I had a great experience here and would stay here again if I find myself in Hiroshima.
