Booking doesn't include a tax they added to the price when I checked in. Also I took an overnight bus and an early check-in cost of 25 dollars for a room that had already been prepared seemed quite extreme.

frankalte (2/5): Terrible Experience - While the room was ok (small, simple but clean) the service was awful from start to finish: when we arrived and got of the car with all our luggage and stuff the hotel door was closed, and nobody was there to let us in for about 20 minutes, a very unpleasant start especially when standing in the middle of the street with all your things and traveling with children. The bad experience ended with receiving our cooling pads the next morning without having been put in the freezer as we had asked for (in Spanish!) - unfortunateley we needed these to cool our medication for this day´s trip into the jungle, causing us huge trouble to find a solution (the hotel staff was of no help). After our return from the jungle we stayed at another place in Coca, less expensive, nicer room and much better service: Hotel Heliconias

The front desk staff went very welcoming and accommodating. The restaurant’s service was incredibly slow. It took us almost 2 hours to have our dinner.

Brittany (8/5): Clean, comfortable stay - The hotel's garden courtyard was a breath of fresh air in the noisy center of town. I appreciated that my room was in the building in the back of the courtyard, removed from the street. The restaurant was super convenient for dinner and nice for breakfast (which is included). The sounds from the outdoor hallways reverberated a lot on the tile structure and so you could hear a lot of doors closing and anyone talking quite loudly. It wasn't unbearable, just noticeable.

Breakfast was buffet style with simple but good food options. Hotel has a lovely courtyard with outside tables for drinks or dining. Full of plants, birds and some surprising local wildlife.

I purchased one night and ended up rebooking two additional nights because This property was so conveniently located to the dock, tours, restaurants and shopping. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The room was spacious and clean and the AC worked very well. They even stocked the fridge with a bottle of what for each guest. I would definitely return.

mdl100468 (4/5): Pretty Grim - This was by far the worst hotel of the 10 or so I have stayed at in Ecuador. The building needs to be refurbished. Don’t get a room at the front of the hotel. Very noisy and the AC did not work. We switched to the back where the AC worked, but there was no hot water during the day. The hotel did not provide drinking water. Everything looked sad and grubby. On the plus side, the staff were all very nice 👍 Coca is experiencing an oil boom. The hotel was full of oil workers when we visited. Definitely not good value for money. We were told this is the best hotel in town. I recommend that you skip Coca altogether. You won’t miss much. It is not necessary to stay there before or after an Amazon lodge trip. Work with the lodge to ensure they coordinate your flights.

mykonj (8/5): Good Hotel - Good location in the center of downtown coca near the park (could be a little noisy in the room but it didn't bother me or keep me awake). I stayed in the basic cabana room it was good and clean. The restaurant had great food. The hotel is very big and has a lot of rooms. I thought the price was a little expensive compared to other places I have stayed in Ecuador, but the price seemed to be on point when compared to other places in Coca. My room seemed to be on the boundary of wifi reception which led to some issues, but wifi work well when i was more in range.
fabian2487 (2/5): Dirty room - I was in this hotel last week for business. When I went inside the room, all things were old and dirty. The towels and the bathroom were terrible too. The bed and the pillow were too hard I couldn’t sleep all night for that and the noise. The next day I had flea bites or something similar. I wouldn’t go back to this hotel again.
Paul (4/5): Geen hoogvlieger maar denkelijk is er niks beters - We hebben 2X overnacht..1X in een "cabine" in de tuin..De tuin zelf is mooi, erzitten zelfs wat aapjes in..De cabin lijkt mooi en idylisch to je er in bent, zeer klein en vooral zeer luidruchtig doordat de achterkant aan een drukke straat ligt...Het ontbijt is een buffet, is OK, er is voldoende variatie...amer zelf was niet goed opgekuisd...Gans anders was ervaring 2..Wij eisten toen een "suite" wat staat voor een kamer in de main building..Deze zijn ruim, clean en zijn van meerconfort voorzien..Hier vind je ook aanwijzingen voor het restaurant, in de cabins niks daarvan..Personeel is meestal vriendelijk maar de dame die ons moest helpen bij tweede overnachting eiste een toeslag..Ze had namelijk niet door dat ik EUR had geboekt, kende dat zelfs niet en verwees naar de prijs in USD!!kortom, de manager erbij om haar diets te maken dat ik meer dan genoeg had betaald, 6 maand geleden reeds van mijn VISA rekening!

JuRut (8/5): Right Down Town, Friendly & not too expensive - Very well located, it is a rather large hotel so you can`t really miss it! The TV stations are only local, but the Wi-Fi proved to be pretty good & stable. Friendly front desk service and good food in the restaurant. I stayed in a woorden "cabaña" style room, behind the hotel in the garden; but pay a bit more for a slightly better room in the main building. The cabañas are a little noisy with the street located right behind it.
marymH5002YX (6/5): Nice but pricey hotel - We stayed one night prior to our jungle trip and one night after our jungle trip. The hotel was clean and air conditioned and had nice garden area. The Wi Fi was spotty and the breakfast that come with the room was skimpy....toast and fruit one day, egg, toast and fruit the second day. We stored luggage while on our jungle trip and when we returned found that one of the bags had been opened and a cell phone was missing. I would suggest locking any luggage you store. The hotel was walking distance to the river which was convenient but the price of $75 excessive.
KarenD641 (6/5): Rain forrest trip - Located a few blocks from the river. Restaurants & beautiful garden area on site, clean with hot showers. We stored some of our luggage with them while we spent 5 days in the rain forrest. After our return we discovered someone opened luggage and took a cell phone. So I would suggest locking all luggage before putting in their storage room. We also felt $75 per night to be pricey.

marim771 (10/5): best place to stay in coca - I have passed through coca a few times on my way to deeper in teh amazon and it's the only place I would stay, apart from its central location the place has a charm. I have travelled and had to hold meeting and also have travelled with my daughter who is 4 years old and the staff even after the first visit remebered her name and chatted to her. even the housekeeping staff made changing the towles fun for her. the restaurant staff even remeberd that she liked the high chair with Winnie the Pooh on it! the food is good, the restaurant consistent, the garden has free roaming animals and lovely trees. in short, it's great. on a business level I have held meetings there and had to arrange a large lunch which went withouht a hitch. the manager is very approachable and happy to deal with requests, even odd ones! totally recommend hotel el auca
kingshimmers (6/5): Not Bad; Not Great; Decidedly Average - The hotel grounds are beautiful! The courtyard of the hotel has beautiful plants, decorations, and animals (monkeys!) and is a lovely place to sit outside and get away from the busy streets of Coca. The room itself was decidedly average. It was wood paneled (presumably to match the wooden exterior, and pretty dark. The bed wasn't lumpy, but it wasn't overly comfortable and the sheets were thin. The air conditioner in the room worked well but it was very loud (we didn't mind, but not good for a light sleeper). The bathroom window only had a screen (no glass over it) and no curtains, which allowed people to see in from the taller building across the street. The shower had great water temperatures and not bad pressure. No hair dryer was provided. Only two small towels were provided, and they were a bit scratchy. The hotel restaurant was good and very convenient. The hotel itself is located close to other places to eat (no big restaurants though), some grocery stores, and a good deal of nightlife. I felt fairly safe walking around outside here, Overall, the hotel is very "charming" and really tries to get you into the spirit of the Amazon. And honestly, if you're about to head out into the jungle or are just returning, this hotel is amazing. I just wouldn't book a weeks relaxing stay here is all.
645JamesW (8/5): Surprisingly Exciting! - We stayed here for one night after getting an 8 hour public bus from Quito ahead of our journey into the Amazon. Everybody else on our Amazon tour had decided to fly in on the start day of the tour, but this hotel absolutely enhanced our experience! The rooms were clean and tidy, the reception staff were helpful and spoke perfect English. The hotel served good food without a long wait. However, the special aspect to this hotel is it's garden. Arranged like a courtyard, it has multiple exotic and tropical plants and feels very wild. We walked around after a cracking tropical storm and within 20 mins had close encounters with squirrel monkeys, a humming bird and an agouti. This more than adequately whetted our appetites for the jungle and I would Guly recommend this hotel.
richarda565 (10/5): Great place to start and end an Amazon adventure - Hotel Auca is located in the heart of Coca. Easy walking anywhere. Clean, modern, A/C, cable tv and beautiful grounds with monkeys in the palm trees. Great introduction to the Amazon basin. Great breakfast buffet.
AnothersEyes (6/5): Average Value - We (couple, 41 &50) stayed at Hotel Auca for one night in May 2014. We paid $55 a night for a cabana with private bathroom and air-conditioning. The room was large, clean and nicely decorated. The bathroom was also big and clean. The cabana had a small balcony overlooking the garden; we saw monkeys, agouti, and turtles in the garden. The hotel has a good restaurant. It is centrally located, a one minute walk from restaurants, shops and ATMs. Hotel Auca is nice hotel but a bit expensive. We would probablg stay there again.

We stayed here one night and paid about $65 to be kept awake all night by either the traffic, or the noisy air conditioner. The hotel has a good ambiance, was clean and the staff were friendly. However, it was not worth what we paid.
travelingdiva08 (6/5): Modern hotel with decent internet - It was clean and had great air conditioning. The biggest plus was the internet. The downside is that they charged high fees for stuff like corkage. Laundry was high but nothing was lost and it was in your room by the end of the day. All the service people were very helpful.
voyageursentretraite (4/5): Would be nicer if cleaner and better maintained - This hotel seems to be the best one in town so I am afraid this would be the best available especially if it is for one night stay. No hot water and breakfast is soso. The good think is they have a good secured parking spot.
