- michael (10/5): - 34 State is simply a gorgeous 18th century (?) home furnished and decorated with impeccable period style! Tasteful and elegant guest suites, great linens, wonderful help-yourself amenities in a thoughtfully stocked pantry. All of this steps away from the storybook lakefront village of Skaneateles. Just a delight for a weary traveler!

Due to the restrictions of not being able to provide even a microwave in the kitchen area limits breakfast options. Too many cold cereals, coffee machine is a nice touch for lattes etc but not for a HOT, Strong, cup of morning Java!

- Rebecca (9/5): Boyfriend and I went to Skaneateles for a quick Labor Day getaway and it was very relaxing to stay at this property and - Property was very clean, short walk to the Main Street/lake area, beautiful and well-kept, the Barrows suite was roomy, excellent bathroom and shower, bed very comfortable and the robe was appreciated. There were even umbrellas available for when going out. Galley/kitchen area was full of good selections of snacks and teas. There was nothing we didn’t like. If we were to leave any recommendations it would be consider adding a small microwave in the dining room for folks to heat any restaurant leftovers and a mini fridge in the room would be convenient for chilling wine, keeping medications refrigerated etc.

- Paul (10/5): Exceptional Stay while passing through Skaneateles! - The accommodations, common areas and attention to detail at 34 State far exceeded our expectations for the rate paid! I have read one or two other reviews here stating the value for the money was not Up to the travelers expectations, well clearly those customers are unaware of the quality of bedding, designer furnishings and the premiere location that 34 State possesses. Either that or they rarely travel. I don’t mean to be smug but we are frequent travelers and this place is outstanding in every way. In comparison to other places we’ve stayed in town we would rate the value, quality, location and service exceptional. Thank you Katie for attending to our every need while affording us our privacy during our stay. We will be back for sure! That we could not stay longer!

The suite was so comfortable and nicely decorated. The "silent concierge" was super attentive, only a quick text away from immediate attention. Incredibly accommodating. I can think of nothing.
- Sus (8/5): We had a lovely weekend. - We love historic houses. Very convenient walk to town. Nicely decorated; not overdone or too frilly. The ceiling height in our suite was low in one section and my husband is six foot. The bathroom was chilly. Limited closet space.
- Todd (10/5): Comfort, class and convenience. - Katie is a fantastic host and offers a beautiful home to call your own when you're visiting Skaneateles. The location is perfect for walks around the neighborhoods or along the streets of town with shops, restaurants and parks overlooking the lake. Katie is very welcoming but also takes a "quiet concierge" approach, there when you need her while providing you lots of your own space to do your own thing. Our room was spacious, comfortable and well-appointed with everything we needed to have a comfortable, relaxing stay. The little kitchen area provided everything needed for coffee, tea, breakfast and snacks.

The coffee machine was superior!! I really enjoyed my cup of morning coffee on the porch. It seemed like an ice machine wasn't working which I could've used. Also a fridge area that I could put my items in would've be nice on the hot summer weekend.

The House is beautifully decorated and great pride is taken to allow the guest privacy with very little instrusion but also a huge welcome from Katie . Very clear instructions regarding access to the property and use of the kitchen ,wifi and all the amenities.Katie was so helpful with us requesting an earlier checkin and our suite was as is the house been decorated both in keeping and with sympathy with the period .It’s a little piece of heaven in this wonderful town .We will definitely come back to stay .
