Want to give a thanks to April, Brenda and the other ladys who worked the dining area and Rose who works the front desk. April had even went beyond to make a special sweet coffee as I like for me and Brenda/April to bring tooth picks as requested. I recommend the stay at DoubleTree by Hilton.

The location is great and the staff are here to greet and serve you. Tami is the main reason why I keep coming back. She is the best person I’ve ever met at any of the hotels that I have stayed at. She is so attentive and accommodating and she will make your stay is complete. No need to stay anywhere else except this hotel.
- laurakZ1191DE (10/5): Great place to stay! - We stayed one night at this hotel for my Husband’s birthday so we could visit Marshall University, his Alma mater. One of the lamps was broken upon our arrival, but maintenance had it replaced within minutes of a call to the front desk. All the staff was friendly and polite, and the room was very nice and comfortable. Will stay here again if ever back in town!
- 437allysen (10/5): A Celebration To Remember - Doubletree did above and beyond for a surprise event for a family member in December 2025. Tonya Sowdwer was wonderful from start to finish, taking time to answer questions, and to ensure the vision came to life. She has phenomenal experience in event planning and coordinating, even being skilled to help assist with decor and step in to fix any unexpected problems. She is patient, genuine, and truly cares that customers have a positive experience. Our family and friends are still talking about the wonderful event space; we highly recommend using this hotel for your next celebration.

The food was delicious, especially the spinach dip!! Tonya Sowder made sure everyone was greeted and taken care of! Can’t wait to go again next year!

- Rlla_RM2 (8/5): Perfectly adequate - We spent three nights here during the Marshall U Marathon. Public areas and the room were very clean. Room is decent size. Yes, there are some scratches on furniture, but this is no Ritz, and Huntington is no (insert your fave luxe destination). The stay was perfectly adequate for the purpose. Gym is decently sized with two treadmill, an elyptical and three bikes (why?). We did not use the valet and parked outside (free on weekends). There is no housecleaning during the stay - you just get new towls (if the cleaning staff gets to you, otherwise you find them and they will bring towels). Windows could use washing.
- susannem689 (8/5): Weekend in Huntington - This hotel is located right by downtown, you can walk to restaurants and also along the Ohio river. The lobby is very modern and nice although the room and hallways could use a little updating (some fraying carpet, dingy shower, older TV), but it was clean enough. Our reservation included free breakfast which was very good with amazing service. April had a fresh pot of decaf on the table when we arrived each morning. Thank you April! We were in Huntington for a wedding and the reception was in the hotel. Food was great and Tonya did an amazing job with the event. The staff makes this a place that we would stay at again.

When asked for a chair that did not roll to sit in they told us to come get it. When I complained to Hilton they said I should have spoken with the manager that they could not help us. Did not fell comfortable or safe. Bad lighting small difficult to get around room

- Joyce (8/5): - The valet parking system leaves much to be desired. When we arrived we waited in the street because cars were parked in the drive-thru awaiting the valet to park them. We finally parked ourselves elsewhere. By the way, there was no mention of a parking charge on the Hotels.com website. The woman tending bar was very efficient and friendly and the salad was fresh.

Found the hotel garage (around the corner detached from the hotel and parked, but our key wouldn’t open the walkway door back to the hotel. Found out later that the garage is $10 a night but it wasn’t offered to us. Shower was dirty, and only one light switch operated both the bathroom light and the outer sink area. Hotel has been recently remodeled but sink leaked. Went to the lobby for breakfast at 8:30 AM (which was complementary went I went for coffee at 7:00 AM) only to find that at that time of the morning it cost $16.95 per person…again, no mention of this was made at check in. Very disappointing experience overall. We won’t be back.

- lizrF9619GW (4/5): Terrible valet - I just had the worst experience at this hotel this morning and I'm still fuming about it. The valet service was supposed to bring my car to me, but instead they just handed me the keys and told me where it was parked. My mother is handicapped and had to walk half a parking lot to get to the car. I've stayed at DoubleTree hotels before and never had a problem like this. It's just not what I expect from a hotel of their caliber. Hopefully they'll take some steps to improve their service.
- Marilyn (8/5): Nice renovation; need a way to tip electronically - I was in town to move my child to student housing for the university. I had not stayed at this hotel before because I had seen negative reviews about the condition of the building. However more recent reviews indicated the building has been improved significantly, so I decided to give it a try. We had a very pleasant stay. Everything was clean and renovated. Breakfast buffet was good, though a bit pricey - no complaints otherwise. One improvement I could recommend would be to facilitate electronic tipping for the valets, since there is no self parking. Cash is harder to come by these days and I rarely carry any, but would like to be able to tip the valets. The hotel does a good job in adjusting the room rate to account for the daily valet parking charge, which is reasonable. Staff was very friendly, helpful, and professional. If you haven’t been here in a while, check it out. We enjoyed our stay.
- Voyage25299971907 (10/5): Class Reunion - I was nervous about planning our 20 Year Reunion…but Tonya Sowder, our coordinator, made it easy, fun, & effortless while sticking to our fluctuating budget. It was a beautiful evening with old friends without the stress of set up & take down that I’m used to. The hotel food & service was great, there was plenty of space for conversing/dancing, rooms were clean/comfortable, & the overall hotel atmosphere was PERFECT. If you need an event space call the Double Tree Hilton & ask for Tonya! She honestly went above & beyond for us! —-gave me ideas on where to put the dance floor, center piece ideas, table placement, lighting, etc!) We truly appreciated her kindness, patience, & help while planning the class reunion. We’ll be back in 10 years! =)

I’m not sure if you can ask to park your own car. The lobby is very modern and nice. The room we had could use a little updating (frayed carpet, dingy shower), but it was clean enough. Restaurant was good. We would stay again.

She created a truly personalised experience, listening to what mattered most to the bride and the groom and was crafting every detail with care and creativity. On the wedding day she brought me coffee with her and that was exactly what I needed in that moment.. and the cake was unforgettable, delightfully delicious. Her warm and caring presence calmed every moment; she managed vendors, timing, and those little unexpected details so seamlessly that nothing felt out of place. The entire day felt effortless and perfect. Sara has been so helpful too! She worked with us the day before the wedding, her and Tonya made sure everything went as planned.. Thank you, Tonya and Sara for being so thoughtful, professional, and genuinely kind. We’re so grateful for everything you did to make this wedding run beautifully smooth.

- P2093TBkima (4/5): Worst Hilton Property - I am a Hilton Honors Member. I was visiting my Son and family with my youngest Son on July 18 -21 2025. I booked the Governors Suite so there would plenty of room for the 5 of us. We paid a lot of money for this suite. This was the absolute worst Hilton property I have ever stayed at. The room was dirty ( found out later it was Never cleaned before we checked in!) Coffee pot along with several outlets did not work. They did address this in a timely manner although should not have had the issue to begin with. Pull out couch did not lay completely flat . Carpet coming up in areas. Found two dead bugs, hairs on what were supposed to be clean wash clothes. Majorly outdated and musty smelling. We were offered another room, a 2 bedroom suite. It was some better and we appreciated it! It was cleaner but still areas that were not clean, bathroom doors, walls. Both front room windows were leaking during a storm. So beware! This property does not update nor is it kept clean. This entire property brings shame to the Hilton brand.

- Samantha (6/5): - I booked the property because it was convenient for the airport and had a pool, after a few weeks of travelling the down time was needed. The room itself was clean and the beds comfortable, except for the bathroom the furniture was very tired and did not feel like you were in a Hilton. Same with the pool area, it wasn't well maintained, the paint was peeling off in the pool and the area around the pool was dirty in places. Other furniture was tatty, faded and old. All of the windows were filthy. Breakfast was a fair cost, but still a little lacking, 3 hours into service I had to ask for the toaster to be brought out. It was just ok.

- James (10/5): - We were in town for an Art Walk. This hotel is in a FANTASTIC location. It's within walking distance to numerous shops and things to do. Our teens loved the cookies when we checked in. The room was clean and spacious, the pool was amazing. This will be our new home away from home when we are in Huntington WV.

- Lisa (6/5): - The hotel itself is extremely nice, the majority of the service workers are extremely friendly, the rooms were 100% wonderful, and the reason I gave it a lower overall rating is because we had ordered a pizza and the staff gave our pizza to another guest. When confronted he was very rude and not in anyway taking responsibility for the fact that he gave our pizza to another guest. So the trip ended up costing me $40 more than what I had anticipated because I did not get refunded for the pizza that he gave away.
