Jaspree (5/5): Not good value - The lake close by was nice and relaxing after a day of hike Unfortunately this place is not a good value. The staff is only there 2 hours per day and don’t even answer back on whatsapp (maybe the number they give you isn’t the right one anymore). The sauna wasn’t ready to use, you need to ask through whatsapp and then they have to send someone to prepare it… so we could not use it. We couldn’t find the kitchenette until the last morning of our stay, again they don’t give you any indication on where it is unless you ask, through whatsapp again, that doesn’t work… Very disappointed in this stay. The amount we paid isn’t worth the value. Also the playgroup wasn’t set up yet
Manfen (10/5): This is the best accommodation in the area. Continuous improvement is evident with every stay. - As clean and comfortable as home. Every need taken care of with everything operating very well. Very friendly and accommodating management.
Manfen (10/5): A very pleasant stay every time! - I return to this lodge year after year because I love how the rooms feel like home. They are dry, clean, well furnished and every year there are upgrades to make the rooms more lovely. The owner Ferdous is a sweet man who really wants to ensure that you have a comfortable, convenient stay. In contrast, many of the other establishments in the area have the typical musty odour of damp wood, which is why I always return to Hush Lodge where there is a well maintained corridor separating the outside and the bedrooms, which also adds security. I highly recommend Hush Lodge, only minutes away from the amenities of Barry’s Bay.
Lovely (10/5): Peaceful - We always stay at Hush Lodge when we're in the area. The place is always well kept, the people(especially the owner) is responsive and so kind! Our family wants to come back because of how we're treated. Nothing tops that.

Nous n'avons eu aucun contact avec les hôtes à part un message avec des codes pour entrer. Nous avons reçu une chambre double sans cuisine...nous avons contacté l'hôte qui nous a répondu 6h pour tard (20h) pour s'excuser et nous donner des codes d'accès pour un cottage sauf que nous rentrions du restaurant (les enfants avaient faim et ne pouvaient plus attendre)....l'hôte a proposé de rembourser la différence mais 7 jours plus tard, nous n'avons toujours rien reçu....c'est très décevant. Pas de contact direct avec l'hôte et pas de communication rapide avec celui-ci

Brenda (4/5): - Upon arrival the main kitchen celing fan/light and bedroom fan/ light would not function. One did not work and the other was missing the required remote control. The smoke detector (orinally wired 110 volt) had been replaced with an expired(dated 2009) battery type unit that had a completely dead 9 volt battery, A call brought quicknattention from staff who brought a pole lamp for lighting and 2 battery smoke and 1 carbon monoxide detector, all of which upon examination were old and expired units. When we tried to run a bath there was zero hot water. A call to service staff brought immediate attention to light the compact camperlite propane unit perched on the back wall of the cabin. It was wholly inadequate and could not provide hot wTer for a bath. Designed for campsite hot water it was.only sufficent for a very brief shower, or enough water for washing dishes. I noted that outside the cabin an old rusted lay in thevyatd, evidently temoved at some time in the past from bedroom closet where electrical wires still hung loosely and still onnected to electrical breakers in the on position in the circuit breaker box. These issues clearly indicate an incomprehesible disregard for guests and for their safety. Obviously quite illegal as well. The overall site was poorly maintained and neglected with unused furniture and debris strewn throughout the property. Experia, the township bylaw enforcement officers, and fire department clearly need to attend this facility and enforce laws

Janine (6/5): - The cabin (#2) was basic but very clean . It had everything we needed for a one night stay . Check In was straight forward and owners communicated quickly with me when we booked last minute . I’m not sure what’s going on with the property . The grounds/lake area very run down . It might be best to not offer waterfront activities if there isn’t going to be better maintenance of the area . Chairs and benches around fire pit are rotten ( did not affect us because of total fire ban ), roped off section to water confusing . New picnic tables and some chairs to sit outside cabin would be recommended . Only dvds in cabin - no tv service . Wifi was good . There are not many places to stay in this area , it is fine for a night stay .
Sara (6/5): I won’t come back - Beds were clean and comfortable,the communication with host was fine The surroundings look almost abandoned,the lake is down a little hill but I wouldn’t set a foot in it,the common area where the kitchen is was messy and the outside dusty with things scattered around unkept.The trampoline is broken as well as most of the things left outside.The room was hot and the a/c is so loud which is impossible to keep it on for long because it was like being in a turbine.It looks nothing the picture on the booking website.
Hans-Peter (5/5): Only stayed one of two nights becausewe had to leave. Sorry to say: not worth the money, can‘t recommend to stay there - The only positive thing was the fully equipped kitchen. It was really dirty: first thing to greet us was a dead big cockroach on the floor next to the door. The feet were dirty after walking a few steps and the dishes and cutlery haven’t been properly cleaned. The mattress of the bed needs to be changed as it is really worn out. The barbecue wasn’t cleaned so it wasn’t usable at all.

Magdalena (4/5): - While the motel room was neat, roomy and comfortable, the entire property left me very disappointed. The area is run down, water access is really far and the waterfront is overgrown, almost inaccessible and entirely inappropriate for children. You cannot swim there. This is not a resort. It's unpleasant and uninviting. There's no room service. While the common kitchen is comfortable and well-stocked, the experience overall was disappointing. :-(

Sietske (6/5): Basic accomodatie mooie omgeving - Wij kozen deze accomodatie omdat het op redelijke afstand van Algonquin Provincial park is en betaalbaar. Aan die verwachting is voldaan. De cottage was schoon, er was goede wifi en een goed werkende barbecue. Het was niks luxe, maar we hebben een prima verblijf gehad. Alles is wel echt oud en niet onderhouden en veel zaken zijn erg aan vervanging/vernieuwing toe. Wij reizen met een gezin van vier. Er waren 3 ontbijtbordjes, 3 dinerborden, een paar glazen. Het huisje had 1 slaapkamer meteen een prima bed en een slaapbak. Deze slaapbank was heel oud. Onze kinderen sliepen erop, dat was ok, maar er zouden geen twee volwassenen op kunnen slapen. Er is een fijne buitenruimte, maar niks om op te zitten. Bij onze buren stonden wel twee picnictafels, maar die vielen van ellende uit elkaar. Wij hebben de tafel en stoelen van binnen buiten gezet om buiten te eten.

Baird (9/5): Good value and the location worked well for our weekend plans to be on the lakes and river. - The cottage was cozy and clean. Wifi worked well. BBQ provided. Comfy bed and no evidence of mice. Windows were good and there was AC as well. One small improvement would be to provide plastic chairs for use outside the cottage. The picnic tables were not in good condition. Any patio furniture would be a nice touch.

miranda (10/5): - This was a great stay! The area is beautiful and quiet, the room was comfortable and quiet :) Food and shopping was about a 10-15min drive up the road and easy to locate. I forgot a box of rings after check out and staff promptly contacted me to inform me of this so I could get them which was greatly appreciated as I live 3.5hrs away from the stay! Would definitely stay again if I was ever in the area :)

Deborah (10/5): - We had an excellent stay at Hush Lodge and Cottages this Victoria long weekend. We had a room in the lodge with a king size bed. It was so spacious! It was wonderful to have a large room with a table and chairs, a couch and large TV. Our room and bathroom was IMPECCABLY clean and modern. There was so much thought put into the details in our room like plenty of towels, plates and cutlery, bottles of water, a tea kettle and coffee pot, a mat for shoes, so much more. The area is beautiful with trees and a lake. Very quiet in our room with no noise from passing cars or other guests. Keyless entry was explained very well with no issues. My text messages were answered promptly and professionally. Only 11 minutes to town it’s a scenic drive to the Lodge. The best part is how comfortable the king mattress is! I absolutely would recommend staying here and we will definitely be back when we return to Barry’s Bay. Thank you for a memorable visit!

Ferdous (10/5): - This place is amazing with its cleanliness, presentation, dry sauna, hassle-free check in and out. We spent couple of nights as a winter get away to snowmobile around. We did all day and then immersed into sauna and comfy bed. Well heated and maintained. We love this place. Want to come back in summer to enjoy the rear lake for kayaking and fishing. Recommend to everyone for a silky experience.

Shaun (10/5): - We booked this facility for an office gateway. We was a very choice - the place is quiet, well spread-out with short walk to the tranquil lake. The room was very clean, well heated and well presented. The bathroom was spotless and supplied. Timing was out of season as the trees are bare now. We will plan to come back earlier to catch up with Fall. Well worth our money.

kjerstin (2/5): - I would not recommend this property. There was no one working on site when we arrived which was within normal business hours. I was sent a text with 2 door codes, one to enter the building, the other for my room. There was no deadbolt of any kind to lock the door from the inside of my room. When I addressed this safety concern via text, the nameless “owner” responded with a very rude and unprofessional response. Apparently, the expectation is to trust this stranger and to assume that no one else will have access to their phone with the code to your room. Aside from this major safety issue, there was a large earring backing in the middle of the floor indicating potentially a vacuum had not been used. The fridge in the room was very loud and rattled when it would kick in making it difficult to sleep. I was there in the fall, passing through for business, maybe people in the summer months have a better experience. I would describe this as an abandoned motel on the side of the highway. This was a big mistake to stay here but I did not trust the owner to do the right thing and refund me if I didn’t stay based on our text exchange.

Mackay (8/5): Very clean and comfortable - I was very impressed on how clean the cottage was and it had everything we needed for our stay (towels, kitchen supplies, etc). Satellite TV was a nice bonus. The grounds were a little rugged for my liking. We were just looking for a place to stay so it wasn't a big deal.

Lynn (10/5): So peaceful - I needed a quiet place to get some work done and this place was perfect. Even though it's close to the highway, there are trees to block its view so it was easy for me to ignore. I had my own private area with a fire pit and a BBQ to grill up some steaks. Inside, it felt so cozy with a full kitchen, living room area and a separate room for the bedroom. As soon as I stepped through the door, I took a deep breath and smiled.... And the bed was so comfortable that I ended up sleeping a little longer than I wanted but that was definitely OK with me. I obviously needed it. There was also lots of space out back for walks. I noticed various sporting areas and the complementary paddle boats and kayaks. I wasn't able to take advantage of this option but I may take another trip out that way so I can explore the lake. I have to say that I was totally impressed with the fact that they are so eco friendly. They even have solar panels set up. A storm hit the area, the power went out for 2 seconds or less and that was the end of it. No more power issues at all. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Thank you. :)
Myra (4/5): - What did we not like? Where to begin? It’s a 500m walk to the “lake”, which is really a weed-filled pond that is not swimmable except for beavers. The pedal boat is made for children, not adults, it’s so small. The floating dock is tipsy and in very poor condition. If you use up all the toilet paper and/or garbage bags, they have a price list on the fridge so you have to pay for more items.
Liza (9/5): Highly recommeded if looking for just comfy beds, clean shower and a worry free stay. - We certainly had a good night sleep with the comfy beds. We are happy with the almost spotless bathroom. The room has everything that one wants. I see that the owner has paid attention to the details to make the room comfy for the guests. It even has a clean rag on a hook by the door which is a great idea for cleaning up any mess. We enjoyed the quiet lake that's filled with lily pads all to ourselves and it was so relaxing. I got a response for my questions promptly. There was only one paddle boat and one row boat by the lake which was far to walk to so we drove there on the grass. The outside of the 4 rooms building however looks like it's deserted. For attracting more guests to appreciate the great comfy rooms inside, there is a need for maintaining it as a "resort".

James (7/5): Good overnight stay - Apartment was very clean and bed comfortable. Ideal for an overnight stay but not for a long stay. Water was hot and shower good. Photographs on booking.com suggested a lake view or close to it. Needed a walk to reach the shore and it looked unkempt. Some of the other facilities were looking sad. Suggested that dishes and cutlery would be provided and owner agreed to do this.

They have a nice sauna room. The boats are not in the best condition. I enjoyed my stay The boats were not in the best condition and it can do a better job with the upkeep of the garden area.

Michelle (4/5): Basic and rustic in a lovely setting, but a bit past it's prime and in need of some TLC. - The surrounding countryside was beautiful and the actual accommodations were adequate (cabin amenities, rooms, furniture, etc). It was a last minute booking and we had relatively low expectations. The property has potential but seemed abandoned. The was especially the case for the one very dodgy canoe that was parked near the broken, rotting and partially submerged dock.
Andrea (8/5): Very nice, clean, beautiful property and conveniently located. - The location is perfect, very easy to find, and conveniently located. Halfway between Palmer Rapids and Barry's Bay which was exactly what we needed. The room was great, quiet, clean and comfortable. All the amenities were great (fridge, tv, kettle, wifi...). There was some confusion about check-in (I was sent the check-in details by text but it was marked spam so I didn't get it), but when I got there late I called and they answered (thank you!) and they were fantastic in helping me sort out the confusion! They were so helpful. Being able to reach a person was greatly appreciated. The corner of the shower had a patch which was not the most attractive (or clean). It wasn't a huge deal, but it wasn't as nice as the rest of the room. There is only a pedestal sink in the bathroom, with no counter space at all. It would be nice if there was some shelf or anything.

Helen (6/5): - Very much in the middle of nowhere, but facilities mentioned on site all shut down. Lake and boats advertised as on site not at all as we expected from the description. Presumably mid August is out of season there as we saw noone else, either staff or other guests in our 3 days. Owners did respond to emails when we had a question though. Accomodation largely as described, but seemed to need some tlc.

Jasmin (9/5): One of the best home away accommodations that I've had the pleasure to stay at. - I'm a happy returning visitor/guest, last year we stayed in the main lodge, this year, we rented the 2 bed cottage, what a treat! Both accommodations were great, but the cottage came with it's own bbq and firepit. We had everything we could ask for, all that we needed and didn't think of, like bug spray. It had enough for our group to thoroughly enjoy ourselves with no worries or stress, a great location, the owner was helpful and so efficient, will definitely go back and highly recommend to anyone considering booking. Nothing, it was just what I wanted :-)

Lovely (10/5): - My family always stay at Hush Lodge. I've lost count how many times I've been here. It's couple and family friendly! The cottages are clean and homey feeling. One of the things I love about staying here is they have a seperate heating system in the washroom. The owner of the cottages is super friendly and accommodating to our needs! Replies quickly as well. My family will be back for sure ☺️

Jeannie (7/5): So, so in All! - The room was very clean and neat, with freshly painted up to date colours. Conveniently provided was a refrigerator, kettle, coffee pot, 2 glasses, and 2 coffee mugs. The gas heater clanged nosily every time it heated waking us. The room was not cleaned and made up daily which resulted in our coffee mugs and glasses being dirty the second day. We were charged, on top of the room charges and tax, a $45 cleaning fee which upon inquiry with the owner, the room was only cleaned every third day of your stay or upon departure. Booking.com came up with the lowest room rate, however, by adding on the unknown cleaning fee at check out, the room was not actually the least expensive in the area. We had friends staying at another location down the road that was cheaper. It felt as though we had been duped on the cheapest room rate.

Lovely (10/5): Exceptional - My family and I always stay at Hush Lodge when we're in town. The trail and the backyard space is enough to keep my little ones busy and happy. On top of that the owner of the cottages is always quick to respond back and accomodate our needs.
Basile (4/5): Was fine to sleep only. No other activities - No breakfast available no facilities. There was to be a cleared lake to ice fish and skating. Not a view or sogn of this lake. There was to be nature trails not a sign. No a sign of anyone there. Was texted a code to get into lodge which only has 4 rooms and the a code to get into room. Only 1 way yo get put of lodge incase of fire.

Marla (7/5): Good - The room was very clean and the bed was super comfortable. We walked down to the lake and enjoyed sitting on the chairs in the sun. It was really like a regular motel. You cannot see the lake from the motel. There are no decks off the rooms. There were no chairs to sit in the sun by the hotel even though it was a beautiful day. It is all self checkin- and we did not see any staff on the property. It really felt like the end of the season.
