• eitana2014 (2/5): Awful and they lie to their customers ! - the double deluxe room is advertised as a 12sm room. It's a lie! The room is less than than 6sqm. When I complained, the staff told me that the room is 12sqm, for real and that booking came to mesure it. When I told him he was telling lies, he admitted that they don't have 12sqm rooms! It's a fraud. Providing false informations to the customers is illegal and actions must be taken against them! It's dirty! Bedsheets are dirty! I took pictures of it! The hotel is located in an awful building, totally dirty and full of weird people walking around and annoying tourists to offer them rooms. We booked 4 nights and left the morning after! Its a pity I cannot rate it ZERO!

• Neha (2/5): Horrible place to stay. - Unfortunately I stayed there for few days. Dirty bedsheets really small rooms so don't go for it just looking at the pictures shown. Me and my partner couldn't even move together in the room.one has to sit on bed then only the other person can move.Day before we were checking out no room service even provided. Don't waste your money!!!
• Lawsie33 (6/5): Nice staff and clean room but strange location - I liked icon inn as even though the room was very small, it was clean and had everything that you would need. What I didn’t like is that you have to queue up in a very long line to get in a small lift just to get to the correct block. We queued for about 45 minutes as one lift was out of order and the stairs couldn’t be used. We finally got up to block a to check in to then be told that we needed to go to block e! So had to go all the way back down and queue up! It is like a market at the bottom of the building as well with men hassling you to buy SIM cards constantly which I would have been nervous about going through if I wasn’t already aware of it from other people reviews. It is only scary at first though I actually think they were all harmless. Overall, the hostel is nice and clean and good value for money, I would stay there again as long as both lifts were working as apart from it being a pain having to wait so long, I’m pretty sure it is a health and safety issue!

• David (10/5): Best in a small package - It was in a great location of Kowloon, close to everything. Very clean, and my luggage fit all under the bed. I was expecting a small room already and that is what it is. Most people had problems finding the icon inn front desk, but I found it pretty fast. Follow the signs to Canada Inn, it’s on the 15 floor, and you only have to walk into Chungking Mansion about 50 feet to the first set of elevators on the left, one for odds and one for even number floors, and I had 2 waters every day left in the room. MTR is across the street in iSquare shopping mall and A21 bus stop to/from the airport is just down the street.
• Tony (2/5): Bad Manager Hotel - Bad and rude manager behavior. One of the manager was very bad. He shouted on me and my family and also make my children scared and cried. He charged me for the extra money amount 1,600 HKD. He told me that he might lost at least 10,000 HKD for a room/day due to the new year occasion. I had to stay there because I couldn’t refund my money back after I paid via expedia more than 28,500 BTH for 4 days. That was the bad situation when we were in Icon inn.

Clean, secure, and some amenities. The price was right, the beds were comfortable, it was secure, clean, etc. I could not have asked for more from the mansions. Check in at Canada Hotel.

Needed to mention we needed exact money for bus after queuing for a while though. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The downside was the queuing to get in lift at night but not too bad.

• Martyn (2/5): A big mistake - Once inside Chungking Mansions there is not one sign to direct you to the Icon Inn. An address (not in the heading) included A15. Someone suggested that meant the 15 floor, of block A. When we got there there were still no signs to the Icon Inn, but there were for many others. The stench was overpowering. We found a small reception, where among many others was one for Icon Inn. We were told our room was not available, and we would have to sleep in 2 separate rooms. Noise continued throughout the night, there was no hot water to the basins, and you had to use the the shower which was situated over the toilet. By the morning we had decided to leave. We went down the corridor (which was also laundry drying area) to reception which was now staffed by a 'hoodie'. We asked him to call a taxi, and was told 'we don't do that'. We left. If there had been a fire I doubt anyone would have lived. It is hard to understand how Expedia could recommend this place.

Icon Inn has a wonderful location I don't have any negative words to say about my experience at the Inn, for the price, it is worth more than enough.. Highly recommended.
• iamjeffie (8/5): Cozy Room in the heart of TST in HKG! - Icon Inn is one of the many rentals in Chungking Mansion, in fact, Canada Hotel/Inn is also on the same floor and both have the same owners. Location: the most perfect spot if you're in Tsim Sha Tsui (or even the East TST) MTR stations. From the airport, either taking the airport express (plus free shuttle transfer) or A21 bus or Airport Express + regular MTR transfers, you will easily find your way to Chungking Mansion. Your reservation will have enough notes and reminders on how the check-in process will be like. Icon Inn is at Block A 15th floor. There's an elevator attendant that ensures order and queueing is in check for all guests. The Room: just like how most housing and living situation in the city of Hong Kong is, expect that the room is very cozy and small....you don't wanna be carrying too much luggage since you'd wanna save your room space. room is clean and maintained clean daily. The Amenities: beddings are clean and neat. there's a ceiling fan and AC, there's blower/hairdryer and your basic shampoo and bath gel in the bathroom. they also provide small soap and toothbrush, toothpaste and comb in case you have forgotten to bring your essentials. you can also use the microwave in the common area (or hallway) to heat up your food or get some hot water for your coffee. There's free wifi in the room! The Staff: totally awesome and friendly! what else could you expect, they are Filipinas! you could never get more accommodating and hospitable than people from the Philippines! Others: building and elevator is open 24x7 and there's enough security in the building plus additional secured door (i.e. use the badge given to you) before you even get to the area where the rooms are. If you happen to get in earlier than the usual 1:30 pm check in time, you can definitely entrust your luggage to the staff.

If you just want a room for you to stay in at night after spending the entire day visiting the tourist spots in Hong Kong, then this is the most affordable room you can have. The only problem here is that they don't give free bottled water.

When they get to the hotel, they have 2nd thoughts as it doesn 't look that great and not looking safe to stay in. We tried to cancel the booking but can't. The hotel refuses to refund. • mattheww854 (4/5): Be Warned - So, the Icon Inn; there's a few things you might want to know about this place before you stay there. There doesn't seem to be many honest reviews out there and so I felt I should let people know what they are in for if they stay here. First off, it’s in a great location in Tsim Sha Tsui, close to shopping district and bars. Unfortunately, that's where the good part ends... The Icon Inn is located in the Chungking Mansion which has been described as the "getto" of Hong Kong and a fire trap. Its 5 buildings stuck together with one main entrance. We only found this out after booking when we realized that the Chungking Mansion and Icon Inn where in the same place on google maps. There are men out the front offering anything from rooms to prostitutes and inside is a number of floors containing Indian food vendors and cheap shops. There are a number of hostels in this building all of which are the cheapest in Hong Kong. But while its cheap to stay, don't expect much space for your money. We had barely room for two beds. Also over the 4 days we were there the hot water didn't work once, so no shower (which was over the toilet). There is ONE elevator up to the hostel which has room for about seven people, so expect a 10 minuet wait at busy times as the Icon Inn is on level 15. Basically, Hong Kong is expensive and this place is slightly cheaper than others, I would recommend forking out the extra money to avoid this ratchet place.
• Verified traveler (6/5): Good location and good price - Old building with old facilities. Not presentable. No hot water in the morning and elevator is very crappy. The building is full of Indian parasite looking for next tourist prey. I didn't feel safe at building lobby.
• Verified traveler (4/5): so so hotel on a great location - stayed there for 4 nights. Since it was pre-booked and my credit card was already charged for it, we cannot leave when we saw the place. there were so many guys on the entrance of Chunking mansion offering guestrooms to the people passing by. The entrance was crowded and noisy. On our way to Icon Inn, the elevator to the 15th floor is out of service, so we used the other one and alight on the 16th floor. Seeing the stairs make us want to back-out, it was dirty. our check-in was smooth, we were allowed to check-in early. the room was small but the toilet, heater and tiles seems new. On every morning of our 4 days stay, we were always awaken with a loud noise that lasts for about 30mins. It was very annoying. on the positive side, the location is great. it is near the TST MTR station and going to the hotel from the airport was easy because just a few steps from the Chungking mansion is the bust stop of the A21 bus.

Fairly sure the staff roobed me of my carry on bag containing $2000AUD staff were not friendly It's owned and run by Indians And they hawk inside and outside the building, they hawk cheap suits, fake watches, drugs and prostitutes. Not cool, not cool at all. Don't stay here. Yes it's cheap, but that attracts desperate people, didn't feel safe here, and Yeah got robbed !!!! Don't stay here. !!!!
• Li Lian (2/5): not recommended and will not return - -Bed linen was dirty and stained. Requested for a change of bed linen but was told that it will be changed once in every 2 days. Checked on the 3rd day, still using the same dirty bed linen and used it throughout 6 days stay -Body itch and rashes formed due to the dirty and stained bed linen -Dirty towels provided and did not change throughout the stay -1 toilet roll was provided throughout the stay -2 small bottles of water was provided throughout the stay -Sound proof was very bad as we are able to hear people talking clearly and walking footsteps outside of the room -Scalded a few times due to the poor maintenance of the water heater. The temperature will auto switch to cold or extremely hot the next following minute -Room size is too small for 2 adults. Unable to move around with 2 pax in the room. Unable to open 2 luggage bags at the same time, only able to open one at a time -Toilet is too small. Unable to turn or move in the toilet -No water from the tap at the sink. Have to use the shower head to brush teeth and wash face -The sink in the bathroom is too small and low for an adult -Lift is always overcrowded. Took a while to go up and down of the building -Staircase area was very dirty with all the rubbishes lying around everywhere -Stale, burnt or cigarette smell from outside the room Overall, it is not a recommended place to stay if you want to enjoy your holiday. Should book a better place in future. Pro - near to MTR

• Martha (8/5): Solo female traveler - exceeded expectations - I am a solo female Caucasian traveler in her 20s and I got to say I was pleasantly surprised with my stay. "Icon Inn" really goes by "Canada Hotel" and they are located on 15th floor of block A of Chungking Mansion, which is actually a kind of a mall/marketplace. There are many different multinational vendors downstairs and it is very similar to many other touristy markets of Kowloon. The quenes to the elevators are about 5-10 minutes only during peak hours, and only when going upstairs - anywhere between 7-9pm. When going down I never had to wait too long. Upon my arrival I was offered a big bottle of water and a power adapter free of charge as I forgot to take one with me. My bathroom was actually a shower cabin - it had a sink, toilet and shower head all in one. There were times when the water was cold. Usually during peak hours of 7-9pm when everyone else was taking a shower. I had to wait about 30 minutes before turning water on again to see if it was hot again. My room also had a hair drier, small TV, window AC, soap, shampoo, toothbrushes and a fresh change of towels each day. My mattress was a little hard but nevertheless I was sleeping comfortably each night. There are security cameras everywhere and you cannot access your hotel's hallway without a key card. This made me feel safe. Upon checkout I was able to leave my bag in their office and explore the city before my flight departed that evening. Overall, for the money you pay this is one of the best deals in HK!
• Junalyn (8/5): A budget hotel - Me and my husband booked a twin room w/ 2 single beds even though we are staying with 2 kids thinking that sneak in is allowed. But they don't so we need get a bigger room, and that simply means additional payment for the kids in a full rate (peak season rate) and it's like more than the amount we paid for the twin room in in advance booking. And they won't refund us if we will cancel to look for a diff place to stay since it's on the terms and conditions when we book online. And we are on a fix budget. But Good thing The Indian guy @ the reception was so Considerate that he understood the situation and give us discount.. He gave us family room with 2 double beds, 2 windows with a very strong wifi signal, cool and quite, Plus Karen and grace was so nice and easy to talk with, because they're Filipinas and that's our nature "being so nice and very acommodating".There's also free unlimited drinking water, fridge, thermos with hot water and microwave oven so we can store and keep our foods. I just don't like the very small elevator, the crowd outside the building, and When you enter the building it's so scary and dirty and smelly and so crowded with people selling goods. Parang palengke, Isda nalang ang kulang. But my over all stay at ICON INN was good.

A sign on the wall said turn off switches as have problems this is not good if on floor 16. To get to room have to navigate through many touts trying to sell rooms. A single girl would feel very unsafe in this building

They gave us the wrong key and our stuff was locked in our room with other their access to it which made me a little uncomfortable but the staff gave us a key right away and everything else was fine. It's actually called the Canada Hotel too, the name wasn't listed anywhere until you actually got to the 15th floor of the building.
• Jona Christina (8/5): Budget hotel - Small elevator so need patience in queuing, upon turning on the aircon you should wait for 5-6 hrs to feel the cold, cable tv has few english channels
• Verified traveler (2/5): Find another place if you can - Staying here scarred my experience in Hong Kong. The building is old, outdated, and dirty. There are only two elevators in each block so it takes forever and once you get to the main floor you have to get through Indian/African vendors trying to solicitate you into buying their stuff. My friend and I were constantly being approached by the men. We felt so uncomfortable and unsafe there. If you can get pass the vendors then the hotel itself wasn't too bad. The hotel staff were nice and the room was clean. But the room we got was extremely smaller than the one stated in our reservation. The reservation said we would have a King bed but we ended up getting a semidouble bed, and it was in another building under the name of Canada Inn. The blanket was very thin and had bleach marks all over. The bathroom is tiny. We moved to another hotel after the first night even though our reservation was for 4 nights. I would not reccomend this place for families or female travelers.
• Bie (10/5): Great hotel close to the harbour and great shops - We had a great stay in Hong-Kong and Grace was a wonderful hostess and very friendly. The rooms were clean, we had access to a microwave oven, refrigerator, water dispenser and iron. The shower was fantastic.
• GeorgePannu (10/5): Friendly staff - The service rendered by Icon Inn was extraordinary.Did not expect that good considering our budget. Ms Sylvanna was very accomodating and got us upgraded to a bigger room and was very informative.The room was very clean and they us clean towels and complimentary water bottles everyday. Will sure come back again and recommend it to friends too.

• JackP2506 (10/5): Very Good Stay - Really enjoyed their good service. The whole stay was good enough for us couple. Good thing that there are also other Filipinos (English speaking staff) in the inn who were able to help us in our needs. The pillow were just perfect as well as the bedsheets & pillow cases. Over all, this is a very budget friendly inn & the location is great for visitors like us.
• Angel (10/5): Location & Cleaniness - One of the best guesthouse in Chung King Mansion, centrally located, very clean, friendly staff. A very enjoyable stay.

• Ade (6/5): Tiny rooms but a good hotel - The rooms are incredibly small, but it was still reasonably comfortable. It's within a couple blocks of the harbour, and many of the stores and tourist attractions.
• Marco Bira (8/5): Great location! - Overall, it was a pleasant experience, value for the price. We saw this deal and acted on it right away. Friendly staff, clean facilities, couldn't ask for better location with all the shops, harbour front pathway system is near by. My girlfriend had a very good time for a quick transit in Hong Kong.
