Guest Reviews
- Luigi (2/5): - Old hotel with bad general condition. So noisy because of trains passing nearby.
We paid for the breakfast that should be ready at 7AM. At 6:55 there was nothing in the restaurant and the tables were still dirty from dinner. We lest with no breakfast because we were in a rush and we got no reimbursement. So upset.
NOT coming back again.
- Perrine (2/5): - Service catastrophique, aéroport à côté, gare à côté impossible de dormir
- Cary (10/5): - The property was very nice and updated with a great attached restaurant. It was convenient with the train station and bus stop for a quick ride to the airport.
- Robert (8/5): - Early morning departure. Driver couldn’t find the keys to the car. Left 20 minutes after confirmed time. No issues at the airport, but a little rattling.
- Freddy (10/5): - Great place! 2 stops from the airport and 20 minutes to central Brussels.
- Anthony (2/5): - Couldn’t check in staff could not locate booking
- Carlo (10/5): Vacanza estiva c/o Brussles - tutto ok.
- Jodi (6/5): - The patio was dirty- an old bbq, trash, weeds, broken fountain, astroturf. The space could be utilized and dressed up nicely. The train noise was really loud and could’ve been drowned out by a fan in the room.
- nicolas (4/5): - Towels were dirty, bathroom with rust, appliances full of dust. When I explained this to the front desk they blamed their Ukrainian staff and that it wasn’t their responsibility. Disappointing behavior.
- JOSE ROBERTO L (6/5): Good for the Price quick stay - Muito barulhenta devido ao Trem que passa do lado !!
- MANIANG (10/5): - Just Passing by
- Sylvia (10/5): - Very friendly staff specially in the recepcion
- Sylvia (10/5): - War ein schöner Aufenthalt
- Verified traveler (10/5): - FlyInn is an excellent Hotel. Staff is very friendly and courteous. Laila, daughter of the owner was extremely Helpful in every way.
Some Repair work was required to the window and the Owner fixed the problem himself.
Will stay again if flying to Brussels..
- Neil (2/5): Sleep on the tracks - Situated next to a rail line so kept awake all night by noise and room vibrating. Room was cold and windows dont close correctly.
Food was very good but that was the only posative about this hotel.
- Peter (10/5): - Food was excellent
- Verified traveler (2/5): A fuire!
- DANIELE (10/5): - Hôtel confort satisfaisant, excellent restaurant, personnel sympathique
- Samuel (6/5): - Wouldn’t recommend airport was the draw. However reception was horrible don’t feel welcome from the start. Rooms are shocking don’t use the bathroom you will never sleep again noise is overwhelming. I won’t be back.
- Verified traveler (2/5): -
After the second night in the morning I felt some itching on my body and noticed some red spots. During the day more spots were noticed. When I came back at the hotel in the evening I complained about the situation. First I was offered another room but then the hotel staff decided to kick me out of the hotel saying the had to close the section my room was situated in. At the same time new guest were checking in.
The staff were very unfrieny and not cooperative all.
Can not recommend this hotel
- Verified traveler (2/5): - I was supposed to stay for 3 night. After 2 nights I discovered red spots on my body, which is simular red spots that bed buggs give. After discussion with the staff I was kicked out of the hotel. They even blamed me bringing the bedbuggs to the totel.
****I DON`T RECOMMENDED TO BOOK THIS HOTEL****
- claudia (4/5): - Hotel molto rumoroso, vicino alla ferrovia e all'aeroporto. Struttura da rinnovare
- Jean (10/5): Clean and accommodating. - Staff was friendly and when contacted gave helpful info on taking bus from airport to hotel. Meals at restaurant were very good. $15 euro breakfast was delicious. I read some reviews about noise from planes but that is to be expected when close to airport. Beds were comfortable and I was rested. I would stay again.
- Sofia (6/5): - Service is zero
Hotel room is old, linen do not seem clean; noisy - from neighbors, awful smell from the bathroom.
Parfait
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Zeer goed hotel. Vriendelijke en behulpzame receptie medewerkster
- Rishik (6/5): Not a very great place to stay - The place is too loud to stay. Every 5 minutes there is either an airplane taking off or train passing by. The apartment was ok, but it could have been better. The kettle in the room was so dirty, it had visible sticky marks on the bottom and gave a foul smell of milk. There was a refrigerator, although it could better function as an oven. The hotel has huge accessibility issues. You take an elevator and despite that you have to carry the baby stroller as there are steps here and there. The place is too deep within a 30 zone and you barely find place to park your car on the street. The hotel had 15 euro breakfast and seeing the menu I rather chose to remain hungry and eat somewhere outside with more options. One huge positive for the stay was it was cheap.
- marc (2/5): - Too noisy, train and airplane noise
- Karina Marie (2/5): Styr unna - Positivt: Hyggelig betjening.
- Antony (6/5): Ok - For the price was ok, room had some visible damp. Couldn’t have windows open due to noise of trains and planes but guess you get what you pay
- Ruchik (4/5): - Check-in was quick, so I was happy. Extremely close to the train station and tracks.
1. Safe did not work, 2. Hot water pot was nasty…I meam there was still water and things floating in it. Disgusting. 3. When I went to the front desk about both things, the guy installed new batteries in the safe, and asked me to switch (not replace) a hot water kettle from another room. Which was unclean too. 4. Walls are no use to proof any sound from next door room. 5. Vibrations from trains 6. Bathroom was so small it’s not even funny.
Never will I select this place again. But this time, I had no other reasonably priced choice in Brussels.
- Benjamin (10/5): - Je le recommande
- Aaron (4/5): Extremely slippery and unsafe shower - Bathroom shower was missing one of its doors so water splashed outside the shower into the main bathroom floor area. Both the shower and bathroom floors are very slippery and as a result of this, I slipped and fell down while in the shower.
I hit my rib on the shower handles which caused a bruise on my side.
- Sylvie (6/5): - Trop bruyant et petit
- Inge (10/5): - Fijn hotel, zeer vriendelijk personeel, shuttle bus ook goed geregeld
- Gemma (4/5): - Imposible to sleep here, flights and trains every 5 minutes, could be good if only need to spend one night
- Melanie Reeves (10/5): - I kept getting bumped off my flights and I had an extended stay. They made me feel welcome and were very helpful and empathetic to my situation.
- Neil richard (8/5): - Very kind staff indeed, great location.Couldn’t be better right by Diegem station.Unfortunately due to the summer heat the room didn’t have air conditioning which was quite uncomfortable for me.Thf staff went out there way to help me though.
It did actually say there was NOT air con at this property so it was my fault for not reading the description properly
- Chelsea (2/5): - We missed our flight so we chose this hotel for its airport shuttle service “for a small fee” and we thought it would be cheaper than getting taxis to and from the airport for our unexpected overnight stay. We were unable to find the hotel shuttle pick up area at the airport. We spoke on the phone several times with the hotel asking for help during this time and were told the driver had already returned back to the hotel and that we should just get a taxi. The taxi cost 15 euros and when we got to the hotel we learned the shuttle costs 20 euros. Given it’s proximity to the airport we expected a lot of noise from planes day and night but otherwise the room itself was fine. We asked for the hotel to call us a taxi for 8:30 the morning of our flight and when we got to reception at 8:30 they hadn’t called yet so it would be a 20 min wait for a taxi. We had missed our connecting flight out of Brussels the previous day due to long lines at passport control so we didn’t want to waste precious time on waiting for the taxi. We agreed to take the shuttle and paid 20 euros with card. However the man had accidentally typed in 200 euros and this wasn’t noticed until after the transaction went through. We waited about 10 more minutes for him to try to cancel the 200 euro transaction before he offered to pay the difference in cash, leaving us with 180 euros in cash when leaving Europe. Stay somewhere closer to the center, this place was not the convenience we thought it would be.
- Daniel (10/5): Europe Road Trip - Great check-in staff. The two woman at the front desk were great. They very much helped me with the train schedule into the historic city center of Brussels. Very close to train station. 15 Euros from the airport to hotel. Nice clean room. Elevator. Great Wifi . Very clean room. Great airport shuttle service. I would re-book and return.
- Katherine (4/5): - I was so very exhausted after a long day of traveling and as I laying in my bed another guest entered the room. He profusely apologized. I went downstairs for an explanation and assurance that this wouldn’t happen again and staff was no where to be found. Finally after waiting 15 minutes at the desk and trying to ring the broken bell, the desk clerk emerged from the restaurant. He admitted this was a mistake, though, this should have been avoided. Also the shower head holder was broken so I had to shower with one hand while holding the sprayer with the other. Washing hair this way isn’t fun.
- Tero (8/5): - The room was very modest, which was ok for my need. However, the bed and the bed sheet smelled. Clearly, someone had been smoking in the room. Had I arrived earlier or stayed longer, I would have certainly demanded another truly non-smoking room.
A positive surprise was that the receptionist told me to be present throughout the night.
- Clementine (4/5): Not to recommend - My stay was very disappointing especially considering the price.
The receptionist didn’t speak proper En, didn’t speak any Fr or Dutch so the communication was very difficult.
The room was big bed a very uncomfortable bed and there was a very bad smell in the bathroom.
There was free WiFi but very slow
- Alexis (10/5): - Everything was fantastic
- RICHARD (4/5): An unannounced Wedding prevented any sleep - We were travelling by car to Switzerland from England. The guy at the reception was very friendly and apologized because there was a Turkish Wedding. We were neither informed of this prior to our stay and also assured the noise will cease within the hour. As it happened it went on until about 11pm and it was so so loud we couldn't sleep. Very disappointed as this was our first reward night but we'd rather have just slept in the car. We would stay here under normal circumstances as the price and facilities were right. However we were not informed of the wedding which totally ruined it for us.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Plane and train hotel - It is right next to the airport and train tracks. The room wasn't equipped with air conditions so we had to keep the windows open because it was hot. It was hard to fall asleep with the bright lights outside, the train and plane noise most of the night. The plus ,it's close to the airport and train station.
- A (8/5): - It was nice
- Jon Justin (6/5): Cheap business hotel - needs some love. - Tired rooms, close to busy railway line and airport flight path.
The hotel is unfortunately quite dated.
Rooms are very clean and comfortable.
New bar and restaurant area bring a positive to the overall feel with very pleasant staff.
- Jeffrey (8/5): - Nice property. Located with easy access to train station and airport.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Never again - The shower wasn’t working the room was too hot the bed wasn’t clean the television wasn’t working I asked for water to drink they said is late there is no water at 11pm
- Russell clifton (6/5): It was ok - It was ok. Bar was shut when I was got there so I just slept there. Handy for train station for train into the centre .
- eric (10/5): - Close to BRU and the staff are very considerate.
I had to make a couple changes over the course of my stay and they were very helpful.
- Olajumoke (10/5): convenient - Very convenient and helpful staff
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Took me an hour to get a taxi from the hotel.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Convenient to airport - Little noisy
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It was pretty empty but they gave me a noisy railside room. Tv did not work either. Wifi ok fortunately. But suspect rubbish away from office.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Near airport and next to train route... and stop.
Most flights and trains stop between 11 or 12 pm and 5am ☺️
- Todd (8/5): - Nice airport hotel that was clean and comfortable.
- Anne (2/5): - Was so expensive £205 a room as Brussels was “sold out” and the room was old tatty and smelt of smoke although supposedly non smoking. Staff very nice. I would not recommend unless you were paying a quarter of that
- NICHOLAS (2/5): Awful service and no communication - Arrived at the hotel at 9:30 pm to be told that my room wasn’t available, offered the basement staff quarters.... this was dismal and had no windows or shower etc. In the end they advised I book another hotel.. awful service and they knew they had problems with the rooms earlier in the day.. a call would help of been nice!
- Manny (2/5): - My room is close to a major train line and very loud trains pass every 15 minutes. Was informed by reception not to worry the trains finish at 22:00 and is now 24:20 and still passing through at high speeds and the problem is not only the terrible noice, it also vibrates when the trains pass through. A terrible experience.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Avoid at all costs - Avoid staying here at all costs. The rooms are smelly, worn out. Non-functional locks on the door.
You are better off choosing the Ibis close by.
- Susan (8/5): - The location and price are good. There was no bar/bath soap. Luckily I had some. There was a kettle but nothing one could make with hot water - no tea, or coffee. Also the fridge didn't work and I had cheese from France and beer so was out of luck with that.
- Kirk (6/5): - Nice hotel, however rooms are very small. No coffee in the room.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Don’t go there. - They share their hotel with a lounge, so even though you can’t smoke there, the hotel smells like cigarettes. They need to update their carpet. The breakfast you paid for was just horrible. Who gives a person bologna instead of ham. Booked the hotel because of the shuttle. Yeah that cost 15 Euros and you pay in cash. They nickel and dime you for everything. Just stay somewhere else
- John (6/5): - OK hotel very quiet a bit out of the way.
- worried tourist (2/5): quite poor - The hotel is right beside very busy railway, and has no sound insulation.
TV does not work. Internet does not work. I managed to connect to internet only after 23;30 when traffic reduced. Telephone is poor and I was unable to get reception desk.
Inside bathroom door handle broken.
Charging extra 10 euro for cleaning. Charging euro 15 for ride to the airport which is only 2km away (walking distance).
- David (2/5): my worse stay in 2017 - Horrible carpet, bad smell, very dirty room, hair on bed, dirty rope and towels. I cant believe I stayed inside the room for more than an hour, before giving up and booking another hotel.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Dirty - Dirty bathroom. Bad smell of sewage in the bathroom, and my travel mate said it was the same in his room. Toilet seat was dirty - never saw something like that. My travel mate could not tune the heat of the water in his shower. Bathroom wasn't clean overall.
- Devon (6/5): Close to the airport- good restaurant - This is a hotel at a reasonable price close to the airport with good pizza at the restaurant. It is close to the train and airport so it was a little noisy. Our room is was incredibly small and the toilet was more or less part of the shower, and the bathroom door handle was broken. However my sister's room was a very reasonable size with a large bathroom. Seeing my sister's room is the main reason I would recommend this hotel, given the price.
- Matthew (8/5): Close to airport - The hotel was good. It is a short walk to some bars and restaurants. The train to airport is a little confusing. Make sure you get on one that says "Zaventem Airport". If you get on the one that says "Zaventem" you have to get off on the next stop and take a bus to the airport, which turns a <10 min. train ride into a 25 min. trip.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Avoid for stays of longer than one night - Very noisy location owing to be right next to the train line as well as directly under the flight path (obviously in the case of the latter).
Sink in bathroom a ridiculous size for washing face/having a shave so that was always uncomfortable. Main light in bathroom did not work and despite two complaints it was never rectified. I just gave up. Breakfast good on first morning (Monday) but deteriorated in quality during the week. I suspect it was the same food being put out each morning. Service at 7.30am not good and on two mornings there was no-one around to provide tea or coffee.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The hotel let us check in pretty early!
- Milton (4/5): potentially good - with shortcomings... - I'll preface this with that I'm typically pretty positive on my reviews, but there a few things that made this a not so great stay. The price is fair and the hotel has potential but here were my issues:
1) I requested the airport shuttle for 8.30am. When I came downstairs @ 8.30. They said it would be 2mins. Then 5mins. Then 10mins. You got the sense the person at the desk had no idea.
2) I paid the driver the 15euro fee and he said he couldn't give me a receipt but that I would receive one via email. I knew there was no way I was getting that email.
3) It's a big noisy. You are beneath the airport flying pattern, so have planes flying overhead til late at night. You are across the street from the train, so have trains zooming by til late at night. There was a rooster crowing, oddly as early as 1am and then periodically through the night.
And I couldn't figure out the TV.
All that being said. The room was comfortable and spacious. The bathroom was good. There were a couple good restaurants that were a 10min walk. And it was less than 10min drive from the airport.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Average hotel for one night - The shower was broken, so I couldn't change the temperature. Water was too hot, so I ended up washing my hair on the sink. It was 4AM, and I was trying to get done soon for a flight, so no point of changing to another room.
I told the staff when I checked out, but he seemed not care about it. He's not the receptionist. He was in the lobby to drive me to the airport (they call it shuttle, $15). This is the terrible part. The guy didn't prepare his car. There was snow on the whole car. He only cleared the snow in front of the driver (not the passenger side) and started driving. How dangerous that is!!!
Pillows have dust on them. Food in the hotel restaurant is average.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Chose hotel because site lists shuttle to airport. When we arrived we were advised of the small print 30 euro per person for the shuttle. The evening shuttle back from airport when dropping off rental car was in excess of 100 kilometers and scared us to death. The driver in the morning was courteous and a good driver. It was obvious the room had not had a proper cleaning - opened boxes of cookies, nuts, candies and coffee were in our room.
- Brenda (6/5): - Very noisy with trains also dining room was closed, morning clerk not too pleasant, but all in all it was very clean and bed was comfortable, they charged 15 euros to airport which was not bad but taxi charged me 12.60 from airport.
- Brant (2/5): Hotel best avoided. - Too many hotel reviews written by people reflect that they have unrealistic expectations - if you buy a Chevy, don't expect a Mercedes experience. With this in my mind, we didn't have unrealistically high expectations of this hotel. The "Fly Inn Hotel" failed to live up to even my modest expectations.
1/ It is situated right alongside a busy railway track with high speed trains roaring through every five to six minutes.
2/ It was a fairly warm evening in Brussels. The hotel is not air conditioned. Therefore we had to keep our windows open to keep the room even partially comfortable. See point 1 above: this made the train noise even worse.
3/ It was very difficult if nearly impossible to communicate with the sole staff member on duty when we checked in at around 20:30. Various Dutch, German and English speakers were unable to communicate with him. Fortunately I was able to use a combination of hand signals and my high school French to communicate with him. I ended up being a sort of interpreter for the other guests as well.
4/ My brother and mother had decent rooms, but ours was a sort of loft-style room with a very steep winding staircase to get up to the bedroom - a little on the dangerous side in the middle of the night when visiting the downstairs bathroom.
5/ Speaking of the bathroom - it was 4 foot by 4 foot room with miniature sink (my wife thought we were on a cruise ship), toilet and shower. Except there was no shower stall. Unbelievably, everything gets soaked.
- vincent (8/5): - My stay at this hotel was pleasant. Has a few convenient shops & bars within walking distance and train station for ease of access to Brussels central. There is a local park too. If the trains or planes won't disturb you a lovely place overall.
- Tina (8/5): Great airport access. - I needed a reasonably priced hotel near the airport. This was great value for the money.I had an early morning flight and received a wake up call and a ride to the airport. Keep in mind that this hotel is in the flight path and there is a train nearby. The flight stop at 10 or 11 pm. I had a loft with a double bed and tiny spiral staircase to the bed. It was adorable. It was very clean and the bed was perfect. I did not do anything in the immediate area so the local rating is for the convenience factor.
- Neha (8/5): Convenient - Conveniently located near the airport. The restaurant was not open very late that was on the property.
- Kathleen L (10/5): Nice place close to airport - One night before catching plane. 15 euros for shuttle to airport. Planes fly over hotel but had good sleep with earplugs in, very comfortable bed, nice bathroom.
- Vasco (6/5): Close to the airport. Good for a layover. - Nice staff, but with small knowledge of English. Good food.
- Pierre (8/5): All we needed for overnight - We drove in and there was plenty of parking. Restaurant on site. Good front desk service. Spacious room with large bathroom
Rail into town was right beside.
- Thomas (2/5): Should have read other reviews before booking - Booked for one night before flying out next morning. I arrived late so I was not too concerned about not being able to figure out the TV or internet. The first issue was the hotel is located very close to the train tracks and I felt every train that came through every hour. The biggest issue for me was no hot water for a morning shower before my flight, heck I would have settled for anything but an ice cold shower. Also no shampoo, but they did have several bottles of body lotion. Bottom line no sleep, no shower and a 15 euro ride to the airport. I have never before looked forward to an international flight to rest and relax... but i did this time
