Guest Reviews
- BRUCE (10/5): - The Roostercomb is so beautiful and a perfect rustic inn.
- Liam (10/5): - Whoever was upstairs checking rooms in the morning was very pleasant.
- Chris (10/5): - Excellent stay. Love the Rooster Comb Inn.
- Brent (10/5): - Great place to stay
- Judy (8/5): - We missed the sign on the stairs telling us to enter off the deck, so ended up bothering another guest in the cottage behind. Beyond that, our suite was lovely. We have no complaints and highly recommend this sweet spot.
- Judith (8/5): - Our room, which had four twin beds, was comfortable and attractive with an Adirondack theme. We had booked the room at the approximate rate of $120 per night which we felt was reasonable for a space that required sharing a bathroom with others. Also, breakfast was NOT included. At the last minute, our adult daughter decided to join us. We didn't think that would change anything, but we got charged an extra $45. That didn't feel right to us under the circumstances.
- Christopher (10/5): - Great place!!
- Alexandra (10/5): - I can’t say enough about this place - from every little detail, they thought of everything. We stayed here between two hikes and it was the perfect place to rest. Everything was comfortable and inviting. We booked the upstairs queen room with a private bathroom. And to our surprise it had its own sitting area with mini fridge, coffee station and microwave with chairs. Absolutely perfect to sit and enjoy. It’s so clean, and so adorable. The balcony has a great view and it was wonderful chatting with others who were also resting between hikes. They are so welcoming to dogs as well - our dog enjoyed it and was just as comfortable.. The staff is amazing and incredibly friendly. We will definitely be back as we plan more hikes in the high peak region and we honestly can say it’s just as much of a highlight as the hikes!! Thank you Rooster Comb!!
- Valentyna (10/5): - Very cozy place, great to stay with mountains view.
- Erin (10/5): - It was a nice place to stay after a long day of hiking.
- Forrest (10/5): - This is my favorite place to stay when I come to the ADKs, it’s ALWAYS clean! It’s just a fantastic place all around.
- Ming (10/5): Lovely and cozy place - This was a lovely place to stay in the Adirondacks and was close to many trails.
The place was clean and cozy, and although the bathrooms were shared with other guests, there were enough and it was never an issue.
The owner and staff were also very friendly and helpful. We'd definitely stay here again when we're in the area and would recommend it!
- John (2/5): - I don't even know what to say about this place. We didn't stay second day since it's so scary to stay. and they don't even has AC in really hot days.
- Melanie A (10/5): - What a gem, especially for hikers! My husband and I were pleased with the queen suite. The bed was very comfy and the amenities were just what we needed. Everything was extremely clean, and the décor added an extra touch of ADK flavor.
- Matt (10/5): - Great all around!
- Christian (8/5): - Nice place
- Thomas (8/5): - Difficult to find at night as there were no lights on.
- John (10/5): - Great place!
- Daniel (6/5): - Very rustic but clean. Shared bath rooms were ok but not great.
- Ashish (10/5): Great place in Keene Valley - Great place and location. Shared amenities such as kitchen and bathroom were super clean. Beds were comfortable.
- brenda m (10/5): - So comfortable and great choice for hikers who want a bed and a refrigerator
- Kyle (10/5): - Great stay!
- Kevin (10/5): - Definitely stay again
- David (10/5): - A wonderful place for a stay in the Adirondacks. It’s not the Crowne Plaza nor a Marriott, and I’m glad it’s not! A perfect place to stay if you’re there for hiking and good company. A very friendly and helpful proprietor too.
- Daniel (10/5): - Clean and Friendly
- Milton (10/5): - Enjoyed our stay
- Christine (10/5): - Charming!
- Johan (10/5): - Perfect location and well maintained!
- Verified traveler (10/5): What a gem - What a great find, would stay there again and would recommend it to friends and family. Kitchen was well stocked with cookware which was a bonus. Great location too for ease of access to trailheads.
- Véronique (8/5): - Confortable et charmant, bien équipé.
- Tracy (10/5): - We liked this place there was an unfriendly dog leashed on the front porch all day.
- Doug (10/5): Great cozy place - I loved my stay at the Rooster Comb Inn. It reminded me a bit of hostels I've stayed at in Europe only way better. Place was a clean, had a great deck, full kitchen for making food, easy parking, and friendly owners. I stay in this area quite a bit and I think I've found my new favorite spot to stay. They even had a washer/dryer setup if needed.
- kathy (10/5): - The owner was flexible, relaxed and kind. Beautiful area and perfect place to stay for a hiking trip in the area.
- Judener (10/5): - The owners were very friendly. The place was very nice, cleaned and comfortable!! I had a great stay!!
- Erica (10/5): - I have driven by RoosterComb for years on my way to Placid and never stayed. Had an early morning hiking day so figured I would give it a shot…All the reviews are accurate, owner was super sweet, rooms very clean, beautifully decorated, so organized…full kitchen to cook and absolutely loved chilling on the deck!
If I stay there again I will reserve a room with a private bathroom. I knew going in I would be sharing but I have now learned I prefer the privacy of my own shower.
Still 20 out of 10 for ratings…plus…come on…Noonmark pies are across the street😀
- thomas (4/5): - It’s ok for the rate
- Charlotte (8/5): - RoosterComb is located perfectly for trail walking. You don’t need your car to get to trails. Absolutely beautiful location!
- Julie (10/5): Great spot - Room is clean and comfortable. I loved the bedspread. Slept great!
- Laura (10/5): - we needed a cozy place to escape and found it here! a hiker’s home, a comfy bed and a relaxing kitchen area to make ourselves at home. The owner is wonderful!!
- Tatiana (6/5): - I like everything except they charged my credit card on 65 $ more that i initially paid when booking, so for 200$ per night without your own bathroom and no breakfast off season (march) its a lot, beeing tight on money it was not pleasant discovery, i would to book somewhere else much nicer if i know the true price.
Overall it was cute hotel, but sirens and church and sound of dropping water inside the wall right behind my bed wont gave me a proper sleep
- Joselynn (10/5): - We were warmly greeted. The place is clean and newly renovated. It is a small space but well thought out and very quiet and comfortable. I would absolutely stay here again on a future visit.
- Alyse (10/5): - So cozy and cute. Owner is very sweet. Definitely would stay here again
- Verified traveler (10/5): Cozy - Love staying at RoosterComb Inn, so cozy, friendly atmosphere, comfortable, feels like a home away from home!!
- Danika (10/5): - A great place to stay!
- Gray (10/5): - This is a lovely old Victorian house, cozy living- room with a wood-burning stove; the room was clean, and the bed was very comfortable. Right on Rte. 73, that’s convenient for getting around.
- Karina (10/5): - Very nice and cozy.
- Emma (8/5): - Beautiful clean rooms
- Braxton (10/5): - Absolutely wonderful little Inn and Hostel. Highly recommended. Everyone was friendly and the Inn was very clean.
- Tamlyn (10/5): A Hidden Gem! - The most charming accommodations! Perfect Adirondack styling and immediately felt like home. I would highly recommend these accommodations regardless of your agenda. Within walking distance to dinner and a cafe, but had coffee in the morning anyways! Fellow travelers were joyful to visit with, as was the on-site manager, Laura.
- Anthony (10/5): - This facility met our needs for an overnight stay during a two-day long drive home.
- William (10/5): - Excellent first impression
- Brian (2/5): - Asked for a refund and none was given
- Amy (10/5): Wonderful Inn - Room was super well appointed and comfortable! We had a sitting area, coffee maker with fresh coffee beans and a grinder! Furnishings were lovely, rustic and sturdy. Bedding and towels were cozy and fresh. And there is outdoor space to relax and enjoy the magnificent views!
We will definitely be coming to stay again!
- Mary (10/5): Great decor! - Very interesting place to stay! Proprietor is very sweet. Environmentally aware vibe. Enjoyed talking to the other people staying there, but one would not have to talk to anyone. Washer dryer! Refrigerator/freezer (clean)! We liked the place so much. Possible knock is that it’s a little dark in the rooms. But who wants to be inside!!! Great view from back deck. Would DEFINITELY stay again.
- Evelyn (8/5): - What is Leary at first about a shared bathroom, has not been a problem yet. Room very neat a clean .
- Ariana (10/5): Best place to stay when hiking the high peaks. - The place was exactly as described. It was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Hosts were super friendly and there was an amazing atmosphere in the inn. I will definitely come back!!!
- Forrest (10/5): - What a great place to stay!! It’s got such a relaxed atmosphere and it’s incredibly clean - all together fantastic!!

Renee and Rick
- Steven (10/5): - It was great
- Caroline (10/5): - Our stay was awesome at Rooster comb inn! The place is super clean and obviously well maintained, with beautiful rustic decoration and furniture. Kitchenware is clean. People are respectful and the place is quiet at night since most people are going hiking early in the morning. The cat will greet you, wifi is great, there even is an outside fire pit. You get to discuss with great like-minded people. All at a reasonable price. Definitely recommend!
- Jin (10/5): Great stay. - It was a great stay. Very clean, comfortable, big kitchen, very good shared bathroom, do not feel any crowded. Room is very small but cozy, like be at home. Location is good to close to everywhere.

- Vincent (10/5): - Perfect! Clean and comfy.
- Fabian (10/5): - Everything was perfect! We enjoyed both the Inn as well as the beautiful nature around it.
- Dale (10/5): - Bed and furnishings were great.
- Katie (10/5): - The property, staff and our accommodations were absolutely lovely and extremely cozy! Magdalena was super sweet and texted us check-in directions for when we arrived late in the evening. We truly felt at home and wish we could've stayed much longer! We will certainly be back to the Rooster Comb Inn :)
- Jennifer (10/5): - We met the owner and another employee the morning after our stay and both were lovely women. One even drove us to the top of the mtn since the lot was full!!! GREAT people, perfect place :)
- Jacqueline (8/5): - Only stayed for one nite. The property suited my purposes for hiking in the area.
- Kyle (4/5): - Was not my type of stay. The mattress was extremely uncomfortable. Very firm and springy. The “shared” bathrooms were communal. And check in was out name on a white board with the room designation on it. Would not stay again.
- Richard (8/5): - Liked everything.
- Maynard (10/5): - aweson inn, will go back when I continue the 46
- Chelsea (10/5): - Very cute and comfortable place.
- Blakey (10/5): Beautiful stay - We were pleasantly surprised at the spaciousness and cleanliness. The walls are very thin though, so plan on being in community with all of the other guests. The bed was comfortable and there were plenty of shared spaces inside and out. Beautiful views.
- Eric (8/5): - Didn’t see any staff but all was ready at my arrival
- Marc (10/5): - Perfect for our ADK hiking needs. Cooked dinner in the kitchen one night. AC in the room kept us comfortable.

- Patrick (10/5): - The Adirondack cabin atmosphere was pleasant.
- James (10/5): - It fit my schedule
- Kevin M (10/5): - They are the best!!!
- Michael (10/5): - It was very quaint! & decorated very nicely in the Adirondack motif! The suite room was very nice!, and had its own bathroom!, a sitting room with a small frig., microwave, and some stuff for coffee & tea!; and a bedroom with a queen bed!
- Joel (10/5): - Was nice and clean and the owner and her husband are very kind and attentive to your needs
- MATTHEW (10/5): Absolutely Lovely! Totally recommend this place - I booked this place for a friend and I to do some hiking nearby. I could not stress how convenient this location is to not only the town of Keene itself but all the trails nearby, especially the AMR, which is only minutes away! The view of Rooster comb mountain and the surrounding mountains are so nice to wake up to as well. In terms of the place itself, I was delighted by the cozy and homely feel of the rooms. While the bathroom and living is shared, I found both of these shared spaces to be not only nicely decorated but great to use. The bathrooms were more well stocked than my own home. Parking was a breeze as well and I was surprised to have stayed at such a cozy place. For the price I would definitely recommend the place but will probably be back again when I return to the High Peaks.
- Nora (10/5): - We happened to be one of two parties at this inn. We enjoyed the quiet! There was a nice wood stove to relax in front of as well.
- Agata (10/5): - Awesome płace !
- peter (10/5): - Nice cozy olde worlde charming atmosphere. Lovely unique homemade furniture.
- Thomas Amisson (10/5): - A cozy, rustic retreat.
- Frank (6/5): - Overall a very nice experience. Only negative was low quality bed.
- Robert (2/5): - Arrived to find our room occupied and nobody to get ahold of to sort out the issue. Going to be sleeping in the car due to lack of scheduling abilities
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Rooster Comb is always so welcoming when visiting the Adirondacks. Private rooms with shared space makes for a social environment with other hikers, learning from some and sharing with others. It's always clean and comfortable rooms and beds. Great views on the expanded upper porch.
