- Tracey (1/5): Beautiful view. Poor accommodation. No food in the evening - The property had Lovely view of the sea The property needs updating. The wallpaper was coming off the wall in the bedroom. The room wasn’t a good room. At 01.55 my partner woke up with water sprinkling on him from the ceiling. We believe it was from the roof as they was heavy rain. When telling the lady on reception she just apologised and nothing else was said!!!

The first room had stained toilet seat, cushions and runner on bed, walls and carpet was patchy. The secound room wasn’t a lot better and had live carpet bugs eating the carpet - the carpet had various patches where it had been eaten away. After having a very stressful few months and driving 4.5 hours we just wanted some R and R this would not be achieved here for us so we chose not to stay.

- Brendan (7/5): Perfect for our needs. Have stayed twice now and wouldn’t hesitate to book again if the price was right! - The location is perfect! Straight down to a beach, short walk into town, shops, restaurants and pubs. Train station is just below if travelling by train. Free parking is a bonus both behind and in front of the property if available. We find the location and stunning views outweigh anything else about this property. The staff are amazing- friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the area. We had a very cheap deal- excellent value for what we paid! Breakfast is good! Lots of choice and attentive staff! It’s all a little tired. If you are picky, this accommodation isn’t for you. We felt that the cleaning could have been better, eg, mould and grout in the bathroom, but also recognise that the property is old and tired. Nothing that bothered us, just feel it would be easy to make things a bit better and more appealing. We find the location and stunning views outweigh anything else about this property, hence the overall score.
- Tarumbwa (8/5): - I liked the easy access to public transport, the beach and the 30 minute walk to Carbis Bay. My room wasn't cleaned as I expected. I like my room cleaned at least every day.
- Salfield (6/5): Not the worst but facilities a bit thin on the ground. Staff all doing their utmost to make it work - Staff were great. There was one lovely lady working in the bar and in the morning at breakfast who really brightened up our stay. Not sure what her name was but she was fab. Could have done with a fridge in the room and there was no free view. Walls very thin, could hear next door snoring!

Nice view We stayed last week and while there we rebooked to extend our st ives holiday after a week in a cottage.This time we booked room only. Thought we'd have a similar stay as last week. How wrong. Seems room only guests are put down the far end of the hotel on floor 3. (Family had same experience last week) yes we had the same view out of a much smaller window. Room was smaller and very hot. The floor was sloping so much it felt like being on board a ship. Room was grim. Floor boards creaked really really badly. Felt sorry for anyone staying below us. Doors banging throughout the night. Not a pleasant stay at all

On arriving and waiting to check in I to go and search out staff who were outside at the far end of hotel smoking. Does feel a little like an inconvenience as opposed to the coach parties the reception staff repeatedly talk about. Hotel very dated. As we had our dog we had to dine in the bar area. They didn't even have a table set up for us. Poorly organised. You do feel like no effort unless you've arrived by coach.

- Amanda (4/5): Disappointing. - Location - close to town and railway station. Incredibly basic room - no decorative features in room, just plain walls and worn carpet plus a mouldy/bleach smell. No side lights at all just a main light and only one pillow each. The kettle couldn’t be used unless you plugged it in under the desk which is frankly unsafe … no plugs anywhere else within reach of it. Breakfast was okay and staff were also fine … but it’s not cheap and what’s galling is my parents were staying in the hotel next door for the same price in complete luxury. The general areas were just completely bare and unwelcoming, it felt a bit like a ghost hotel.

- kate (5/5): - The setting is fantastic. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was fine and the staff worked really hard to cope with a large number of customers. I didn't see on the website that they had any parking available but they do, which was great. My single room was very small but the bed was comfy and the room had a great view and a little balcony which was a nice surprise. The main problem we found was that the bedrooms and corridors upstairs were very stuffy and hot. The lobby/restaurant etc were fine but the corridors and bedrooms were very warm and there was no way to turn the radiators down. I was advised to open the door onto my little balcony (which had lovely sea views) but that made the room very noisy. My friend's room was very hot but she couldn't open any windows. The hotel is a bit run down in places but it isn't expensive so I expect they are trying to update as they can afford it.

- D'Arc & Alison (10/5): Fabulous location - Everything is incredibly clean 👌 very friendly staff. I was really surprised by the negative reviews. Yes, it's a little tired, but it's not horrendous. It's cosy and worth the money. Easy location and absolutely perfect for what we needed. We would definitely stay again. To be honest, I've stayed in more expensive hotels that were in a worse condition. The hotel is lovely and has amazing potential. Book whilst it's a bargain. I'm sure when brought up to a higher spec, it would reflect in cost The reviews I'm not sure what people are expecting. The hotel obviously reflects in price

The view from the room was absolutely beautiful. My room wasn't like the picture, it was very dated and there was water damage down the wall. I picked the room because of the photos on the website, choosing a twin over a double.

- Arnold (1/5): Schlecht - Zimmer entsprach in keiner Weise, dem auf der Buchungplattform, Booking angebotenen Zimmer mit drei großen Eckflügelfenstern, Raumgröße von circa 20 m² wurde auch nicht annähernd erreicht. Das Zimmer war insgesamt sehr heruntergekommen und verwohnt. Der Teppichboden im Zimmer war stark verschmutzt und wies große Fleckenbereiche auf. Das verfügbar gemachte Zimmer war in akzeptabel. Der Mitarbeiter im Empfang war nicht im Stande, uns ein anderes Zimmer entsprechend der gemieteten Lage und Ausstattung zu übergeben. Unsauber, nach unserem empfinden, nicht gut geführt, das Zimmer entsprach in keiner Weise dem Angebot… ich könnte diese Aufzählung noch erheblich weiterführen. um 5:30 Uhr am Morgen wurden wir vom Servicepersonal geweckt und mussten unser Fahrzeug von dem bei der Anreise zugewiesenen Parkplatz entfernen. Ein Hinweis oder Angaben auf Ersatzparkfläche… Fehlanzeige. Das alles führte zu unserem Entschluss, dieses Hotel sofort zu verlassen.

La amabilidad del personal, nos ofrecierón un paraguas antes de salir sin pedirlo. Se oyen los coches y por la mañana los portazos de las otras habitaciones. La primera mañana me pudé duchar bien con agua caliente, la segunda mañana estaba congelada, supongo que se termina el agua caliente si te levantas un poco mas tarde que otras habitaciones.

- Marie-Lou (6/5): - We had a beautiful sea view, and the accommodation located right in front of the beach and the train station. There is also parking available and not too expensive, hich was very convenient. The beds were very large, which was much appreciated and made the stay more comfortable. The photos seemed quite edited and made the place look more “fancy” than it actually was. In reality, the atmosphere felt quite gloomy. It took around 30 minutes for the hot water to come through, which was inconvenient and the room felt quite cold. The bedside lights were not working. Overall, the hotel atmosphere did not feel very welcoming or reassuring, and we had the impression of an odd and slightly uncomfortable vibe.

Tv was not working and all equipments was from 1980s. Hair dryer, tea kettle, tv everything was too poor quality and whenever you walk wardrobe was making noise and also floor was shaking. Also we got a pair of glass literally disposable ones. It not worthy at all. Never visiting this property again

- Lee (5/5): - We arrived to park the car at the front of the hotel. All of the spaces were taken up as well as all of the ones in the tiny unit at the rear of the hotel. The lady at the reception explained that we had to go down to the st ives train station car park to park the car for the regular fee which the hotel doesnt cover. as there is only 16 spaces for the hotel that has 85 rooms the parking is first come first serve. Shower pressure was dead.

Had a seaview room which I wasn't expecting so very happy about that. It was super clean as well. Perfect for a solo traveller. And the staff were very welcoming and friendly. To me, nothing. I was worried about my stay here because of other reviews. Yes it needs a little work but for me great value for money. Was a little noisy but thankfully I packed earplugs.

But we stay here eveytime as it is value for money. The rooms are a little tired and although the room we stayed in may have been decorated recently it wasn't done very well. There was paint on the bathroom floor, toilet and bath. The sink was cracked and a stain on the carpet.
- Helen (7/5): Great location. Ask for sea view room. - We were not expecting the ritz and it was just a cheap getaway for the night. Location is amazing. View from lounge area was lovely, however do not book a room without a sea view. Although you can upgrade and I wish we had but we were literally there for a night. The staff were friendly and we had a nice lady check us in on arrival. Very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was fine and plenty of choice and they do top it up with fresh items. There is a big garage behind the hotel which was great. But the first appearance of this is shabby and untidy. The bathroom was not particularly great. Just had a cold feel. Tatty looking. None of us showered in the morning as couldn’t bare the thought of using a cold, dreary bathroom. Thin duvets and thin pillows. I understand the hotel will be undergoing renovation end of season but whilst it’s open it should still be providing nicer facilities. The hotel seemed quiet and although we didn’t upgrade prior, we could still have been asked on arrival. Even if it meant better bathrooms.

The older receptionist was raising her voice at us and was very aggressive with her behaviour. And finally, staff couldn’t help us either get direction when we couldn’t figure out where to get closest bus // train.

- Lisa Horchler -Jung (7/5): - Wir können die vorherigen Bewertungen nicht bestätigen. Wir hatten ein renoviertes Familienzimmer mit Blick auf die Bucht. Großzügig für 3 Personen und sauber. Das Frühstücksbuffet war sehr lecker und reichhaltig. Der Service unglaublich freundlich. Das Auto konnte kostenlos direkt vor dem Hotel / Garage stehen. Wir reisen viel in Uk rum und sind einiges gewöhnt. Von daher mögen wir den besonderen Charme vergangener Zeiten. Wer nicht alles auf die Goldwaage legt und mal Fünfe gerade sein lässt, kann hier ein paar angenehme Tage verbringen. Wir mussten sehr lange auf warmes Wasser warten.
- N893ERandres (8/5): Weekend break ..great place for value - My partner and i waz inrm 8..freshly decorated ..the rm nice and clean alluwant really The staff very friendly i like bring jack to a special thank.u ..a young lad who cleaned our roomand also waits ontables very cheerful lad ..thank.u The food was it value for money ..no but it was hot and average ..one thing seasonal vegtables ...portion peas ? I was gob smacked when it said selection of vegtables . Parked the car in the hotelgarage which was a nice touch Overal experience fantastic especailly we came here 4 yrs ago and wasnt great ..this hotel going though a referb slowly so all i say lets be patient and c what it be like next year ....we will be back

- Шевченко (10/5): - Маленький затишний номер з видом на океан, все необхідне для короткого відпочинку на кілька днів. Поруч центр міста, пляжі, зупинка залізничного транспорту, що дуже зручно. Може бути трохи шумно, враховуючи розташування.
- J (9/5): Grab a bargain - Lovely people that run the place. So affordable and the rooms are great for the price. The love and care put into the breakfast menu alone deserves a mention too. The fact that they could feed my ve/gf partner well is tantamount to how good this place is. Clearly having a refit and in the process of doing the place up which is not their fault. We will be sad if it’s suddenly more expensive.

- MILLAN GOMILA (2/5): Short - The views It was really old and there were excrements in the bathroom when they gave us the bedroom
- Amanda (3/5): - Nice views of the beach from our room. Close to the centre. Parking. Very very tired hotel. Stained, worn carpets. Reception staff quite often not there. Moldy dirty windows in our room.
