Guest Reviews
- Richard (6/5): - Overall room was ok. Bed was fine, shower was next to useless, as was the toilet flush.
Good walking distance to sea front.
Unfortunately probably wont be staying here again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Everything was fine apart from the bathroom floor being dusty. The rest of the room was clean, clean sheets and towels and free WiFi, tea/coffee facilities and hairdryer and a free parking space which is a bonus as parking is limited in that area. The hotel is a little run down, as is the area, but the rooms on the floor that we stayed looked like they'd been renovated, maybe they're working on it gradually.
- John (8/5): - The staff
- David (10/5): - Very cheap
- Brian (10/5): - The staff could not of been anymore helpful.
For the price we paid the room was just what we needed.
Pet friendly.
Throughly enjoyed our stay.
Thankyou!
- Jr (4/5): Night in Torquay - We are still waiting for a refund from Hotels.com as one of the rooms we booked was terrible.
- Richard (6/5): - The room was rather hot. The shower dirty. One of the 3pin plugs didn't work.
The outlook from the window was very untidy.
The main reception man was very pleasant and easy to talk to.
- Jacqueline (10/5): - I have stayed here before and the hotel cannot be faulted on anything. Staff are friendly and helpful and room was beautifully clean and spacious. Facilities were excellent. The outside of the hotel could do with a make over(lick of paint and weeding and a brush ) but this does not affect how amazing inside is . Will recommend to friends and family and would book here again if I need to . Thankyou for a wonderful stay.
- Richard (6/5): You get what you pay for. - Fine for a cheap stay. Room had not been hovered and was missing items listed eg hairdryer. The floor was disgusting and the bathroom not much better, however the sheets were clean. Room had clearly recently been repainted as frog tape left on switches. Staff were a bit unhinged, telling us they hope our nephew doesn’t pawn his birthday gifts for weed. Found dead rat next to my car in the morning. Probably wouldn’t stay again, but was fine in a pinch.
- CHRISTOPHER (2/5): Terrible - Would not stay again got there and told we don't do breakfast WiFi poor first room given had not been cleaned shower not working tonight being filled council i will stick to bandb infuther.
- Jacqueline (8/5): - My room was very tidy and clean , the bed was very comfortable. When my shower switch didn’t work it was fixed almost immediately. Reception were friendly and explained about the lift being a little bit slow. The outside of the building could do with smartening up and the car park could do with a tidy but this did not affect my wonderful stay. I would stay here again.
- Nathen (10/5): - Great for price. Rooms similar to Premier Inn
- keiron (8/5): - Very nice staff
Clean room
Location
- Dennis (10/5): - It was local, quiet and very convenient for the job I was working on. Facilities were fine and the staff were very helpful.
- Aden (10/5): Great stay thank you - Great stay in Torquay as part of my business trip. Good value for money and a short walk to the sea front and places to eat.
- Maureen (4/5): - Very disappointed
The bed was clean and the towels were fluffy. That’s all I can say that was nice about it. No parking anywhere near. Very smelly hotel. Down 4 stairs up 8 stairs and down another 4 stairs to get to room and I am on 2 sticks. Walls need a good wash or coat of paint. Floods need cleaning. Would not recommend it at all.
- Joe (10/5): - Nice accommodation really friendly staff and good food 👌
- scott (8/5): - Great location near where my friend lives free breakfast which wasn't advertised good value for money
- Claire (10/5): - It was quite difficult to find the hotel, but a sat nav solved the problem.
The staff were super friendly and helpful.
- Bob (8/5): - Staff were very helpful and caring. They were most helpful in pointing out local things to do and see.
- Tina (10/5): - Nice friendly staff and clean property
- Lucy (6/5): - Although staff was very friendly and helpful
The property is dated and full need some vibrancy
And our people on premises renting are smoking resulting in us needing to change our bedroom as it absolutely stank of cigarettes so had to change our room
Sadly I would not return
On a plus staff are nice and our second room was clean and didn’t smell!
- Kathryn (4/5): - The Tor Park hotel is badly in need of a huge amount of TLC. It was seedy and sleep was impossible due to constant comings and goings all night
Restaurant service poor - coffee unpleasant
- Anna (8/5): - This hotel was excellent value. It was clean. The staff, including chef were very helpful and the breakfast was good value. The property is run down and the lift was broken, though they were trying to mend it. It was a struggle to the top floor without a lift. There were noisy hotel residents below our window smoking and drinking till late but I suppose this is to be expected in this area. We parked easily for free in the street and Torbay is not far to walk. A taxi back cost only £6. I would reccomend the"Hole in The Wall" pub in Torbay for a good evening meal. We were in Torbay to visit the hospital so this hotel made an economic base and I would visit again.
- Jabeer (10/5): Very good and very clean hotel . Good location - Amazing
- Marianne (4/5): - The property is pretty with the decorations for Christmas but it is tired and been waking up twice with the fire alarm that's what I don't like about it and it's dirty in the room
- Claire (8/5): - Hotel was tired, breakfast stone cold and waiting staff friendly but in need of a bit of customer service training.
- Michael (10/5): - Friendly and courteous staff who were very helpful as regards to any questions asked. Spacious room, comfortable bed, a good power shower. Has a great beer garden at the back of the property and a medium-sized car park that was easy to get on.
Around 5-10 walk from Torre train station too should you be using public transport.
Would certainly stay here again the next time I'm in Torquay!
- Amy (10/5): - The staff were friendly and the rooms were very clean!
- david (10/5): - Great friendly staff, good quality food and comfy
- Keith (6/5): - The windows were rorting wood that would not close.anoying when there is a coach below you with its engine running
- Andrew (4/5): - One night stay, reception pleasant and helpful but room and facilities shocking. Bed uncomfortable (hard), curtains barely closed, staff smoking and chatting right out side the window. Tiny shower that squirted out into bathroom, things crawling on the floor, no pillow slips on spare pillows. Evidence of damp on ceiling and walls. Didn't get a wink of sleep. Breakfast was ok toaster needed coaxing again staff were pleasant and helpful
- Sharon (10/5): Great little place! - Staff were lovely!! Rooms were comfortable, beds comfy, shower amazing! Walking distance (albeit on top of a big hill) from most local amenities. Will Definately be returning!
- Steven (10/5): Great value for money hotel - We have stayed here 3 times in last 2 months and think it is great value ,on 2 of the visits we stayed in Saturday night and enjoyed the live entertainment ,great staff would recommend
- Paul (6/5): Clean but tired/dated hotel - Nice polite easy check-in and out. 24 hour reception.
Hotel clean in general; room was clean with a pretty new bathroom.
Beds were quite comfortable, though had to ask for extra pillows. These were brought to the room no issue.
Our room only had a small window which struggled to let much airflow in so room was very hot. We even bought a fan to help cool us during our stay.
Quite a quirky layout with lots of little corridors to the rooms, the decor is getting very dated, odd bit of wallpaper starting to come away etc. In need of an update.
We were generally happy with the service throughout our stay, though on the last morning we decided to have breakfast at the hotel after being advised we could just pay on the day. Unfortunately the restaurant were unprepared for any ‘walk-ins’, cooked breakfast was nice but very basic, cold toast and poor choice of ‘continental’ style items.
Parking is £6 a night so we parked on the street outside for free after the first night. Would be nice for parking to be included for guests.
Overall we were content with our stay and accepted the standards for the prices paid, though at upwards of £100 a night you’d like a better quality of finish and food.
The hotel isn’t too far from Torquay harbour, but the street is quite steep leading to it so not for the totally able if you want to walk in and out of the main drag.
Would we stay there again? We’d likely look for somewhere else to be honest, that was more updated
- Andy (10/5): An escape from the football, to get work done - It was booked last minute as I needed peace to get work done as I was working to a deadline. Despite using it as a place to escape, work and, sleep it was excellent.
- Anthony (10/5): - Great happy team working at this hotel, waiter
Service at dinner which gets a big plus sign
From me and the food was good too. Set
Service at breakfast break was also very good. Rooms very clean. Top marks all round.
Throughout a normal year I stay In 35 around
The country, this one goes into my top five.😎
- Sanisha (8/5): Exceptional staff, hotel needs a freshening up - I stayed here with my young son as we needed to be off early for a day trip with family. The hotel to look at from the outside, looks run down. As soon as I walked through the door, the check in was brilliant and the member of staff very friendly. We stayed in room 41, the room was clean but needs a refurb. They need new windows as you could feel a draft and the walls are marked so needs a freshening up. We went downstairs and had a drink, again staff very friendly. The hotel is not aimed for children as such but we joined in the bingo and was made to feel really welcome, it was actually a very nice evening. We slept very well. We had breakfast which was faultless. Overall the hotel was ok but the staff really made our stay.
- Paul (8/5): Comfortable room bu no Wi-Fi - Comfortable bed in a small light room. Room was way too hot but at least the windows opened. Quite noisy (from other rooms) during the night Bathroom was very small but the biggest complaint was no Wi-Fi
- Vince (6/5): Very Poor Noise Insulation
- Lovely staff, good food and clean, just very noisy at night and first thing in the morning.
Slamming doors creaking floors, footsteps in room above, if it hadn't been so late you would have thought they had the builders in!
- Paul (8/5): Great value and pretty good breakfast. - Great value, friendly staff and basic but comfortable room.
