Guest Reviews
- Kinyua (5/5): -
- Judy Kamau (5/5): - Very nice landscaping. Breakfast was okay. Rooms are outdated. Dinner has plenty room for improvement.
- Kahina (7/5): -
- John (8/5): - The gardens. No Hot water Kettle in the rooms. No phone in the rooms
- Kanishka (9/5): -
- Francois (7/5): A missed opportunity - The property itself colonial style place and gardens and view Poor food, rooms outdated, poor management, sad place despite nice 2nd level people

- Kadagwa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Moni (8/5): we enjoyed our stay. Serene and extraordinary! - The breakfast was healthy and delicious. The attention of the service staff was exemplary. Breakfaste ends too soon -09h00. 10h00 may be better.
- Mc (8/5): Very good -
- Steven (7/5): Good -
- Evans (6/5): below my expectation but the lake view is splendid. - The locations and lake view is splendid. The standard rooms are too small. There is no a la carte menu and the buffet is limited. The dinner time is fixed in a boarding school like manner with limited range of food. There are no sleepers (if you have to go to the small swimming pool)or drinking water provided in the rooms. The standard rooms don't have a phone to the reception, therefore convenience of room service is ruled out.
- Titus (7/5): Good -
- Murigu (6/5): Pleasant - They maintained cleanliness, and the room supplies were availed satisfactorily. The hot water was excellent. The food was standard and monotonous.
- Micha (8/5): Very good - It's a well maintained historic building dating back to 1906. Garden is lovely The dirtroad to hotel can't get any worse
- Peter (9/5): Attentive staff, delicious food, quiet and comfortable accommodation. Excellent value. Exactly what - Attentive staff, delicious food, quiet and comfortable accommodation. Excellent value. Exactly what we needed
- Moses (10/5): Good if you want a peaceful getaway - The food, the ambience, the viiiiiieeews and the history The toilets and the bed was squeaky
- Muturi (8/5): Very good -
- Serge (8/5): relaxing and distressing - package, food, hospitality, environment appropriated for meditation and relaxation bathroom and it furniture's.

- Melanie (8/5): Great Place to Go!! - We really loved the Jacaranda Lodge. The staff there is so Great, the Cook was
sensitive and really good, he came every night to ask if everything was okay, we got. Special Food because we are vegeterians, they made everything very friendly and helpful and tasty. The Guide Joseph was amazing!
The Garden and whole Area is very beautiful! We can Not say because we liked everything and everyone there.
- Abraham (10/5): Very peaceful and serene - The food was amazing

The place had a stunning view Nothing..
- Wangari (7/5): Good - We enjoyed the hotel...it is really green and beautiful. The food is also good. The staff are very helpful and friendly.
We also enjoyed the nature walk to the lake. The pool was not working and we were really looking forward to enjoying some time there.
- Lucy (8/5): Very good - It is a peaceful place to relax and unwind. Joseph took us on a walk down to the lake front where we saw a wide variety of birds.
The food was good and, as there were few guest, served quickly.
Lovely getaway from Nairobi
- Michel (8/5): Very good - The laundry was closed. They went out of their way to ensure our clothes were pressed. Really dedicated people.
- Evans (3/5): Poor -
- Newman (4/5): Disappointing -
- Nicolas (9/5): Superb -
- John (8/5): Very good -
- Sauerwein (8/5): a peaceful get away. - the location and views are quite good, and it is nice and quiet. The grounds are well done and lots of birds around the grounds. The service was very good, and the staff were very attentive. Staff were generous with their time, took us on a bird watching tour down by the lake and a 4 hour hike to a local 200 meter hill with great views of Elementaita and surrounding areas. I recommend they offer traditional Kenyan food choices along with what they are already serving. The rooms are nice, the chairs could be a bit bigger and better cushioned as a suggestion.
- Philip (10/5): Secret escape - 6 - 9 April 2024, we decided to treat ourselves for our wedding anniversary to a stay for a few nights at Jacaranda Lake Elementaita Lodge visiting Lake Nakuru and Elementaita in our 4x4. For our first night we had the hotel to ourselves, the pool was very clean and perfect for chilling out in.
The food is delicious served in the Lord Cole Restaurant and meal times are flexible, just ask what suits. Chef and Maitre d'Hotel, are attentive and provide a personal welcome, catering to our diets no problem.
The hotel had strong wifi everywhere, the bedroom was very comfortable with premium bedding. There is a flat screen TV in the room which we have not looked at. There is piping hot water in the bathroom and shower which arrives after a running the taps for a while.
Bath and shower heated by Kuni booster.
This morning the hotel provided a guide who took us to Lord Cole’s monument, to the shore of the lake and to Kariandusi Site Museum.
Lots of flamingos at Lake Elementaita and other beautiful birds…… everything here is peaceful with beautiful views, we remain on safari
It is an old hotel which is not in top condition with old bathrooms waiting to be done up when funds allow, don’t expect a modern top class hotel. Our bathroom is in pink, very 70’s. The staff are all charming and doing their best. It was faultless
- Bibhuti (9/5): Superb -
- Lillian (7/5): Good -
- Jeremiah (9/5): Great stay - The ambiance of the hotel is great Not close to the lake ☺️
- Joel (7/5): Good -
- Elisa (10/5): Exceptional - Staff is extremely nice and helpful. Half board package is amazing and food Is delicious. Room is spacious and clean. The garden is soo green and relaxing.
- Cyrus (4/5): Disappointing - Room service
- Yvonne (3/5): Poor - The staff only The structure of the property is in a poor state
- Dhurjoti (9/5): Superb -
- Jonathan (8/5): Very good - Nice friendly staff; good breakfast with cereal, eggs, bacon, and sausages! Nice pool and beautiful view from the main house and dining area. Would recommend!
- Mike (7/5): Good -
- Trizah (9/5): Superb -
- Boniface (9/5): Great Place - The place is Amaizing. With great views, great food and awesome staff. Nothing
- Robbert (10/5): Nostalgia and perfect situation - Views on the magnificent garden, the pool and the nostalgic main building with the history. WiFi in the room didn’t work
- Alai (7/5): Jacaranda Elementaita - The quietness of the place, room was comfortable. The bathroom in the room needs to be upgraded.
The water was lukewarm and water sort of trickled....the pressure may have been too low or is it the design of the shower.
The bath towels are too old!
Limited food variety at dinner and breakfast.
- Xiong (7/5): Good -
- Alba (7/5): Good - Location , views , staff Room furniture is very old
- Steve (6/5): Pleasant - Lovely location, very peaceful. The food was not good. No flavour. The plane needs some TLC.
- Vimal (7/5): Good -
- Gillian (9/5): Great value, peaceful place to stay. - The rooms are clean and spacious and the beds are very comfortable. It was so peaceful, I slept so well that I stayed an extra night. The staff are extra attentive and want to make sure you are having a nice time. The location is lovely, you can see wildlife from the terrace. It’s very reasonably priced. Other reviews say the property is dated. It is, but perfectly functional. You need to be realistic with the location and the price you are paying. I found some of the dated features charming.
- Monica (8/5): Very good -
- Claire (10/5): Exceptional - I loved everything about this beautiful hotel..They really have maintained it amazingly. The history within the hotel is very rich and amazing to learn. I didn't get a chance to go for the nature walk but I'll surely be back for that!!
- Charlotte (7/5): Beautiful setting for a relaxing weekend - Stunning location, beautiful grounds, friendly staff. A very knowledgeable staff member took us on a nature walk down to the lake and told us all about the birds, plants and geological history of the area.
The beds were comfortable. The food quality was uneven - very good a la carte lunch and dinner, but breakfast was not as good.
- Carol (5/5): Passable -
- Florence (5/5): Just Alright - The staff were really friendly and accommodative No variety of food
Bathroom kept flooding even after reporting
The hotel could use some renovation
- Conrad (8/5): An interesting and worthwhile experience! - The place has a interesting history, an old farm house of early European settlers. The farmhouse has kept its old charm, and the entire set-up is a bit "Seventies Style". It is very well placed, to make a little drive to Lake Elementaita, where, when we were there, plenty of flamingos can be found crowning the lake shores. The beauty of the Rift Valley Lakes. The pool was very well maintained. The entire structure could benefit from a little lift-up, but the charm should be maintained. Could even be improved by people who have a sense for that old style. The standard is a bit limit, but finally ok. Some investments are needed, that would provide more business as well, eventually.
- Bore (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fathalla (1/5): Bad - The location was good.
- Nelia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andy (10/5): Fabulous views, grounds and excellent hospitality - Superb welcome from the staff who went out of our way to make this a pleasant stay. Fabulous location with views over Lake Elementaita and immaculate gardens full of birds. Loved the pool - clean, turquoise and a proper size for actual swimming in. Zachary took us on 2 brilliant walks down through the grounds to the lakeshore to see flamingoes and pelicans and other birds. Rooms clean. We had delicious meals on the verandah. It is also a fascinating historic building. We hope to return. It is a historic and quirky building and just seems a shame that the owners have not put more thought into updating the decor and facilities. A lick of paint, and some updating of the bathrooms wouldn't come amiss...
- Lorraine (8/5): Enjoyed my stay - The staff were very friendly. I loved the food and the portions. Went on a weekday, so I got the peace and quiet time needed before it got busy over the weekend. The pool was constantly kept clean. It would be nice to have a proper shower cubicle instead of standing in the bath tab or provide an antislip bath mat to be used in the shower.
- Jemimahsafiri (7/5): Good stay - The staff were great, the pool is refreshing on a nice hot day and its only a short drive to the Lake. The location is great. The views from the dining area are stunning. The place needs a serious uplift. The gardens around are great but all infrastructure looks very outdated. Especially the reception area looks quite disappointing.
- Susan (7/5): Good -
- Marya (10/5): Great Rift Valley experience - Zach, the hotel guide took us on a fabulous nature walk, and arranged for us to have a boat trip on lake Naivasha. The level of service from all staff was exceptional and reflected Kenyan hospitality at its best. The hotel had monkeys in the grounds, and plenty of exotic birds.
My favourite was waking up to a view of the lake covered in a carpet of pink from the amazing flamingoes. Nothing
- Wanjira (8/5): Very ambient - Great pool and view. Perfect for a quiet getaway
- Mambet (8/5): Very good -
- Anonymous (10/5): The staff are great. Lucky to meet the CEO of the hotel and he was very professional, polite and always seeking customer - The location is great and it has the taste of classic
- Margaret (4/5): Disappointing -
- Patrick (9/5): Superb -
- Mburu (9/5): Best Start Of 2023 - The staff were amazing, right from Patrick at reception to Geoffrey & Timothy who served us during our stay there.
The lodge was also very quiet which brought a much needed escape from the noisy city life.
The lodge also fulfilled a request that I made during booking which helped with the birthday surprise that I was organising! The food was amazing but offering something to drink outside of the normal tea and coffee during lunch & dinner would have been great.
- Jóni (7/5): Good - the view to the lake is amazing bedroom needs update to be modernized
- Tomsco (9/5): Superb -
- Aaron (7/5): Good -
- Muna (9/5): Superb -
- Mohamed (8/5): Very good - It's a nice resort for someone who wants quiet and peace. Staff were very helpful and accommodating in everything. Overall a nice place. Kids really enjoyed the swimming pool. It looked that the resort has just opened up after a long time closure.
- Dev (9/5): Superb - The Senerity, off from the highway and close to the lake.
It is a complete cut off from the concrete jungle. To have more variety of foods. Should provide tea and coffee in room
- Kamathi (10/5): Wonderful place for hiking with beautiful views - Serene environment Serene and quite environment
- Nyabundi (7/5): Good -
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The rooms were very clean and had a beautiful view. The lodge os also very close to the main highway.
- Antony (10/5): Very welcoming, exceeded my expectations - Great view, welcoming staff, very good accommodation
- Verified traveler (8/5): A quick trip from Karen and a vepleasant stop over - My first visit and I was very interested in Lord Cole and the hotels history.
- Patricia (8/5): Great get-away - We have stayed here three times before with the first two being excellent, but the third disappointing after it changed ownership. Now it seems to be back on track. The grounds are again well kept, the rooms clean and comfortable, even if you might have to wait a while for the hot water to come through. Beds are extremely comfortable . A lot of families came to spend the Christmas holiday and children had a great time with a staff member obviously designated to entertain them. Meals were buffet style while the hotel was full, so nothing gourmet but a plentiful and well presented variety. On our first day we ordered from the menu. when there were few people. The pool is lovely, and very clean, but be prepared for the low temperature. The management thoughtfully provided entertainment each evening (singers, dancers, acrobats) and offered organised excursions (bird watching, nature walks) to those that wished.
- Matthew (8/5): Lovely place - The staff here were exceptionally attentive and friendly. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Hotel needs upgrading in some respects, but the idiosyncrasies are easy to overlook because of the positives. beautiful gardens and surroundings. Very peaceful and serene, isolated (in a good way) location. Will visit again.
