- Chloe (8/5): - Good but had ants
- Kyle (8/5): - Pro: location. great staff, promptly attended any issues with our stay.
Cons: need to update some fixtures and fittings
- Duncan (10/5): - Simple, inexpensive stay close to the airport and Old City. Great value for money if needing to check in late at night.
- Week Chin (8/5): - Low price with good facilities. Aircon strong enough but not comfortable as it blowing directly to the bed. Cleaner never clean the room for the last two days even we have put up the sign to clean the room.
- SignorTV (10/5): Price, Location, Location, Location - The room very basic, nice clean. Room clean everyday without being asked. I stay 2 days during my trip to Doi Ithanon. Customer Service was good, that i remember i forget my keys and the Cs was very helpfull no frills. Near every Night Market in Chiang Mai.. During the daytime the room are queit hot, its understood that CHiang Mai are very hot ..but i have no problem when the sun down. AC works ok. Room are quite Big.
- Verified traveler (4/5): B2 or not B2? There is no question. - WiFi and hot water does not reach to top floor. Moved to 4th floor where WiFi and hot water worked but the air conditioning leaked and bathroom door latch was broken resulting in me getting stuck in the bathroom.
Nice hotel but no atmosphere and unfriendly staff that are unwilling to help and have no concept of customer service.
- samuelh894 (6/5): Very basic but good location for the airport - If you are looking for somewhere to stay based solely on proximity to the airport then this hotel is fine. We had an early flight from Chiang Mai airport and were able to get a taxi there in 5 minutes.
Don’t expect a particularly pleasant stay though. The hotel is extremely hot as the walls seem to absorb heat throughout the day. Rooms are very basic. Nonetheless staff are helpful and helped us to arrange our taxi.
- Vishvadeva (10/5): Good place to stay near the airport - Our flight arrived late in Chiang Mai, so we had decided in advance to stay somewhere near the airport. It cost us 100 bhat to get a taxi to this hotel. We were very satisfied with the level of comfort and service for a relatively low cost. Agoda.com seems to have the cheapest rates for booking it. Staff was friendly. The room was very clean and modern.
It is not particularly near any tourist areas, but it is a comfortable choice to stay when first arriving in Chiang Mai.
- Verified traveler (10/5): -
- Verified traveler (10/5):
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- Verified traveler (8/5): Near airport. Valuable price. - Good location near airport. Very valuable price for overall.
- jay (6/5): Just For people who want to visit night market - Just For people who want to visit night market. recommend only Friday night.
and nothing around here but you ca walk or take taxi to other place.
- KershawIreland (8/5): Good for the price - The room was clean and comfortable (although the beds are a little too firm). It is about a 20 min walk to the main areas. Or if you download the grab app (basically uber) it only costs about €1.50 for a trip to town.
The only downside was that the check in staff seemed kinda rude.
- Verified traveler (6/5): A bit disappointed - I found no hair-dryer in the room which is listed at the hotel introduction page, so I asked the staff if I could borrow one (not trying to complain, but I needed it.). But that staff just said "no have". That's all. Not even a "Sorry". The next day I want to see if they are recommended taxi driver to send me to the airport. They have, but asking for 400 bahts!!!! Way too expensive. So I called and used Uber, which was only 200 bahts.
- Laura (10/5): NICE, FRIENDLY STAY, CLEAN AND MODERN - OVERALL VERY HAPPY, CLEAN, BRIGHT, MODERN, BEDS WERE ROCK HARD BUT THATS A THAILAND THING ALL OVER THE COUNTRY. REALLY NICE TO HAVE AN ELEVATOR. AC NICE AND STRONG. ONLY NEGATIVE, A BIT HARD TO FIND TUCKED IN AN ALLEY, AND ONLY 1 USEABLE OUTLET IN MAIN ROOM, NO BATHROOM OUTLET, NO OUTLET ACCESSIBLE NEAR BED BECAUSE ITS COVERED BY THE MATTRESS AT THE SAME HEIGHT. WHEN YOU ASK FOR 1 LARGE/FULL BED THEY JUST PUSH 2 TWINS TOGETHER. OVERALL VERY HAPPY WOULD STAY AGAIN
- Scott (8/5): Lovely hotel! - Great value for money, no issues with room! Very close by taxi to main areas.
- 115martyb (6/5): Great Stay at B2 Thippanate - You cannot go wrong with this hotel for the price. Very basic hotel with no frills but the rooms are clean which is the main point.
If you stay at this hotel you should definitely consider renting a scooter - you will have to walk 10 minutes (15 if you walk slower) to get to the the "Old City" You will also need to take a taxi or yuk-tuk or scooter to any of the night markets.
The staff at this hotel are far from friendly or helpful. But as mentioned earlier for the price you cannot go wrong.
- PipPaul (8/5): Fine stay - Our first nights in Thailand - 4 nights - so no baseline to judge against other Thai accommodation.
It is a new block, all unrendered concrete. I quite like it
Room was spacious. Couldn't find the main light switch in the dark though and had to fetch help.
Single beds, on the firm side but prefer that.
Fridge worked fine. Was drink in there but prices were only in Thai.
TV but only 2 English news channels I could find were Fox (😨) and Aljazera. No BBC or CNN or CBS......
Shower lacked a bit of oomph and ran a little hot/warm, but was ok
Toiletries ie soap, refreshed. Room cleaned daily. Felt it was all quite clean
AC worked fine, and on its slowest fan speed was OK for overnight use
Quiet overnight, probably because of its location, which was its main downside. Around 1km to walk to the start of the old town.
But, we only paid around £12 per night, booked some months ago before we knew what to expect for cheap Asia accommodation
So overall we were quite satisfied with the place.
- Anni_h79 (6/5): You get what you pay for - There is no breakfast and the staffs English ranges between extremely spotty to non-existant. However the room was tidy and we had no complaints as to space, furniture and decoration. The beds were actually quite nice, and I'm picky.
You really get what you pay for - a budget hotel room which meets the modest expectations one should have.
- stacey (8/5): Close to Airport. - Stayed here for 1 night as our flight came in very late. Nothing fancy but room was clean.
- martinkI7924RD (8/5): Basic hotel Close to the airport - We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights
When we checked in the hotel had no
Conformation of the booking
This was a hotel mistake added about 15 minutes to the check in process
The rooms are clean
We booked a double bed but revived a twin
Kinda of annoying
The Electrical sockets in the room didn’t work very good
But over all it’s a nice hotel
- WONG (8/5): Good for short stay on solo or for an early flight - Looks a little small but the room is okay for the price. The morning market is just across the road with many food stalls. The airport is just about 2 km away and so it is convenient if you have to catch an early flight
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- Verified traveler (6/5): -
- sabinem300 (8/5): Very nice room, close to the old city - We wanted 1 nights stay close to the airport. Therefore we chose this place.
It lived up to all the expectations and more, with the exception of not having warm water. We didn't point that out though, since we only had 1 nights staying didn't need more warm water. So maybe it was just our room. We don't know.
Besides that, we would really recommend the place, and definitely go back.
You can walk to the old city, and it's only 5 min away from the airport. The rooms are very nice, and the people working there are very friendly, and helped arranged transport!
As stated, if we come back, we would stay here again!
- misssammyrsa (10/5): Trusted quality - This is the second B2 hotel I have stayed in, and again it is fantastic.
Clean, comfortable, spacious and cheap!
I booked into a place prior to this that was NOTHING like advertised and I knew immediately that I should have stuck with the brand I know and trust!
B2 group ALL THE WAY when in Thailand!
- 252peteg (10/5): Excellent hotel! - This was probably the best hotel we have stayed in on our trip to Thailand!
Great room and facilities, powerful shower, spotless and good aircon!
Can't say anything more to how good this room was! A+++
- Verified traveler (6/5):
- Adam (8/5): Close to airport and old city. - Overall worth the money for the good location. However, the bedding not comfortable. Luckily only spent 2 nights. Toilet floor may be slippery after shower. Be careful and walk with caution in the toilet and entry into toilet as tiles slippery.
Great location for a local meal (cheap and authentic) from a nearby 24 hours restaurant. Amulet market near by. Excellent for amulet hunters.
- yixiunai (8/5): Definitely Value for Money - A group of us, 10 in all, stayed here for one night before leaving for home the next day. The property feels new and the rooms are clean. For that price, the room is quite spacious (unlike the tiny budget hotel rooms in big cities). The only concern is the floor in the shower area is kind of slippery. And since there is no shower curtain, the entire toilet is wet and slippery once someone takes a shower.
The staff speaks English and are generally friendly. There are a few nice small shops in the area which is a quiet neighborhood. We bought some nice t-shirts and had cheap good simple breakfast (rice noodle soup) near the hotel. Another plus point, it is really near the airport!
- Supot (10/5): Good Budget Hotel and good location - This hotel was very nice easy to find and staff at the reception very warm welcome and quick check in , the room very clean and comfort quiet and good for sleep , good location just only 5-10 minute to Chiang Mai International Airport and easy to access to anywhere in Chiang Mai Town. Next time I will come back again.
- hilariousinpink (6/5): one night on festival2017 - we were there for our 2nd nightlife in CM. it was fulled with rooms in Nimman branch. we booked online at economy price. the room was clean and have service minds according to we checked-in late at night. the front office was warm welcome with security boy. it is a good place to take a rest if u have plan to go Nimman streets at night. it is very close by Red public car about 10 mins. i like this branch.
- fabiorjt (10/5): Very good value! - This is a very comfortable hotel, in a contemporary style. The room is spacious and with contemporary decor, the bed and pillow comfy and the shower had good pressure and was hot.
It is not central, but close to the airport and the downtown and markets of Chiang Mai could be reached by 20-25 min. walk or an inexpensive 50 baht Uber/Grab ride.
Highly recommended!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Clean, cool, comfortable hotel. Loved the polished concrete look. Walked to Hotel from Airport. Lots of cafes and restaurants nearby. A little off the beaten path but an easy walk to Chiang Mai gate.
- Natt (6/5): - Overall is ok, clean and quiet. I stayed here for an overnight. Reasonable price for a short stay. Less than 10 minutes from the airport and the old city.
- gurpal9838 (8/5): Nice room, quiet neighborhood - Reach the hotel around 12pm today.( i was writing this review in the room now). Been told 2pm only can check in! Ok, fine!!! But the receptionists, all of them, were like i dont give a damm face showing to the guests!!! If not i would give then a five star!!! Location- around 1km to old city,if walking not an issue then i think there were no problems for you all!!! Alot of stalls nearby!!! Room- nice, clean, large, modern!!! Recommend
- nidasan (8/5): best budget hotel - We stayed there for 5 nights and left the bag for 2 days. Its nice.
The room is twin bed, the aircon is cold. Totally is fine for back packer.
Parking space was free. The hotel is near Hai Ya Weeken Market. We booked via agoda only 3XX bath
- Leptok (6/5): Good rooms, but otherwise pointless - Clean, large, quiet, modern rooms at an affordable price. No questioning that. But, I left one night into my 4 day reservation without getting a refund so that I could move to another hotel.
Why? What good is a great room in a poor location? I had to walk a km to get to anything in the Old City. I'm a person who comes back at least once a day for a rest to my hotel. So that means 4 km of extra walking per day. And the neighborhood is not pleasant, in contrast to the beautiful, leafy, Old City.
Furthermore, to get vegetarian food, I had to walk to old city. I guess, if you are an omnivore with no dietary restrictions and are happy to eat whatever street food is available (low density of restaurants of any kind nearby), then no problem.
Finally, the staff spoke almost no English, but that per se is fine with me. What was bothersome is that some of them made no attempt to communicate at all if I can't speak Thai. Now, any two human beings can communicate at least with hand gestures if they try and I've been in numerous such successful conversations with no common language whatsoever. But here, some of them would just appear annoyed and make a face of "WHAT are you saying?" and "I just wish you'd stop trying to talk and go away". So that's why I moved away even though they refused a refund.
- HOONG TUCK (10/5): Full marks for cleaniness - We stay in four hotel during our trip to Chiangmai. This is the best. Steam boat buffet shops are nearby.
Airport is nearby. Shopping centre is nearby
- Verified traveler (6/5): ok hotel close to Saturday walking street. - one night stop over before going to Bangkok. It's a good place for ok room.
- stinastudios (6/5): Value and Modern Hotel - Location was good. Close to the airport and the square. No amenities but the style of the hotel was very cool, modern and clean. The lobby had a odd smell too it but check in was smooth and had us booked with one bed but accommodated us for a room change to two single beds no problem.
- nainar2014 (6/5): Better options in Chiang Mai - We stayed at B2 Thippanate in September 2016.
STAFF
While they are friendly, do not understand much English. On two occasions our card was cancelled so we were unable to get into the room. While they solved the problem on both occasions, it was inconvenient!
LOCATION
Could be better, it's about a 5-8 minute tuk tuk ride into town and you have to walk to the main road to get one.
HOTEL
Modern and clean although questioned the bedsheets being changed each day. The shower is also very temperamental with the temperature changing every few moments, also didn't stay in place.
Wifi is VERY temperamental with us having to either stand outside our hotel room door or sitting in reception.
Although they give you free complimentary water each day, they do not sell water. So you'll have to go to a 7/11 to get extra. There is also no food offered in the hotel but plenty of places to eat nearby.
There are better options in Chiang Mai! We felt we paid too much for this hotel for half working facilities.
- adamt129 (8/5): Lovely Room - I thought this room was really good, we paid for the superior as it worked out a few pennies more and it was lovely. The room is made of marble, it looks really nice! The beds are firm, which was a surprisingly nice rest for us. The shower was ok, nothing different to the other showers we've used. The room has a tv and English channels too (Woo)!
The location is perfect in my opinion, you are just outside of the old city so it quite but yet you're on a small walk away from everything and there are plenty of great places to eat.
A few sides notes:
- Careful on the walk home at night as there isn't always a path
- avoid walking near the bin bags as rats tend to be around at night
- and lastly, the staff aren't that great, they're not too welcoming and come across a little rude with next to nothing when it comes to speaking English.
Overall it's worth its price.
- zhiying (6/5): Cheap but no hair dryer - No hair dryer.......
- PEANGJAI (8/5): - ้hotel is small but clean. Staff is friendly. Ii is convenience to go shopping at night market but it is difficult to go to downtown. Taxi driver always ask for more price to go here.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Worth it!
