Guest Reviews
- ElizaC616 (2/5): Security cameras turned off, staff broke into our rooms robbing us - The experience was horrible, as after the first night spent there me and my friends were robbed. We arrived on Thursday afternoon, and on Friday morning, just as we were having breakfast, the employees were disabling the security cameras and broke into the upper rooms, stealing hard worked money from our wallets, and there is a police investigation that can back-up everything I wrote here.
Let me be clear about this: I did not leave money laying around, inviting people to steal it. I did not leave my room door open, making it easy for everyone to come in and steal. I did not leave my wallet out in the open. It wasn't even in my pursue, but hidden away in a pocket, in my backpack. And the door to my room? Locked with the key provided by the hotel's staff.
These people stole from us, and when the owner was confronted with the police, he started making a big scandal, threatening. We had to move the next day to a different hotel, paying a substantial difference, not to mention we never recovered our stolen money.
I am extremely disappointed with how the owner managed the situation, and in all honesty, this experience has ruined our vacation in Morocco.
- SilviaB2507 (2/5): Money stolen from our wallets - I would like to let you know about our experience with Ryad Dar El Meknassia. We checked-in on the 16.08.2018 and the next morning, on the 17.08.2018, while we were having breakfast downstairs, money were stolen from our wallets within our purses from the 2 upper rooms of the hotel. We manage to realise immediately we went up in the room and we called the police for further investigations. The police found from the clues that the housekeeper lady and the security were the thieves. Police advised us that this is not the first time this is happening, as they found other foreign money placed throughout the hotel. The way they stole our money was well planned, as they managed to disrupt the electricity for 6 minutes in order for them to action and have nothing catched on the security cameras. Our money were never returned and the persons never recognised their fact. Please be careful with booking over here. The Ryad it is a beautiful traditional Moroccan house, however their staff left us a bad review of our entire trip to Morocco.
- yishaideitcher (2/5): uncomftorable and unpleasant and unclean - not clean, no hot water, not comtorable mtrresses when we complained. they grudgingly moved us to another room with a bit better mattress but still very thin.
we booked for two night last minute and we couldnt stay the second nght and made us pay the cancellation fee.
- gracied899 (8/5): Nice Riad in good location - Good rooms and ambience with authentic Moroccan tiles and decor. Good breakfast and rooms are ok too. When we arrived there was a lady who spoke no English at all and communication was impossible! But we managed to get to our room anyways even though she gave us the wrong one :) This riad is in a good location.
- JonathanP3309 (10/5): Excellent stay in Meknes - Beautiful place, perfectly located for seeing the old city. Thankfully easy to find, especially as I arrived at midnight. Comfortable room, helpful staff, good breakfast and great value. I came to relax after busy travelling in the South of Morocco.. Even though it rained throughout my entire stay in Meknes I luckily had this warm and comfortable place to retreat to! Would definitely recommend.
