- Alissa (9/5): Everything I Was Looking For - Everything you need was right there. Location was perfect. Grounds were kept immaculate. Had an exceptional room right next to the beach. Not crowded, or loud. Employees were pleasant and helpful. Food was good. Will definitely be back. Needed better communication from Dive shop for excursion that was ultimately canceled due to rough weather and conflicted with completion of SCUBA OW cert. Another instance of poor communication for class time changes due to weather. Ultimately, it was a minor inconvenience. I could've planned my days for other activities, but this didn't change my overall vacation from being fantastic

- Sarah (9/5): A different feel than a standard resort, but feels authentic. great staff, great location. - This was our first time in San Pedro and it was an excellent experience. We were with our two teenage kids and our 10 year old. Pros: the beach is well taken care of, the snorkel experience and all things ocean are handled by an excellent team that are knowledgable and friendly. The golf cart rented through the hotel was great. Rooms were comfortable. Housekeeping was thorough and efficent and our honeymoon suite had the most spectacular view, you walk onto your porch and the ocean is right there. Friends staying at the autograph hotel had a sea wall and didn't feel like you were on the water. Excellent massage on the beach. Cons: there is sargussum just like everywhere else around the area. The restaurant is just ok and they really make it more widely known that it is only beer and wine. Our rooms were very far apart, which of course isn't ideal with a family with kids (even older). Smoothie bar was out of ingredients such as bananas.
- Bradley (9/5): Very tropical and authentic Belize feel to the property. - Beautiful, tropical, villa rooms, cozy. Had the Presidential Suite and the French Doors facing the Gulf were clouded and non transparent (smoked over), the seals were broken. Was very unfortunate as the beautiful view was lost. Bed directly faces the French Doors, thus nothing can be seen through them. Come the evening, doors need to be shut because of mosquitoes.

Las fotos no le hacen justicia a la belleza de las instalaciones: son espectaculares, con cada detalle cuidadosamente mantenido y en perfecto estado. De todos los hoteles que vimos en la zona, Ramon's Village destaca con diferencia. La habitación era muy espaciosa, impecable, y las camas increíblemente cómodas, invitando a un descanso total. En el baño disponíamos de numerosos amenities de muy buena calidad, un detalle muy apreciado. Además, el aire acondicionado funcionaba perfectamente y de forma silenciosa. El hotel también proporciona toallas de playa, que pueden cambiarse diariamente en recepción, lo cual resulta muy práctico. Otro gran punto a favor es contar con un muelle propio, desde el que salen excursiones a precios competitivos. Asimismo, ofrecen un servicio gratuito de traslado al muelle el día de llegada y de salida, en sus carritos de golf. Todo el personal fue extremadamente amable y atento en todo momento, siempre con una sonrisa. La comida del restaurante es muy buena y sabrosa, aunque algo cara. Para tratarse de un hotel de este nivel de lujo y confort, eché en falta detalles como la disponibilidad de albornoces o batas de baño, que habrían contribuido a que la experiencia fuera completamente sobresaliente. En cuanto al desayuno buffet, me pareció poco variado y bastante saturado. Se generan colas largas y la reposición de los alimentos no es ágil, lo que hace que, si dispones de poco tiempo, resulte difícil disfrutar de toda la oferta. Además, la variedad y la calidad no estuvieron a la altura de lo esperado para un hotel de esta categoría y la comida disfrutada en otros horarios (cena). It was noticeably cooler walking onto the property into the shade of all the trees. The pool was great. The beach was clean even during a major seagrass bloom. All the single use plastic and take out containers. The bathroom/shower amenities are all in individual bottles. We were sitting at the pool, ordered a fruit plate, and it came in a take-out container with plastic utensils, wrapped in plastic. The pool is only a few feet away from the restaurant so (IMO) easy to manage regular (or even reusable pool-style dish wear). All the plastic waste was disappointing. Some of the staff seemed like our presence was an inconvenience. It made me curious about the working conditions b/c every other person we met in the country was SO friendly. I hope I’m wrong, and these few folks were just having a bad day, but it was a constant over our three-day stay. Also, no hard bar was a surprise and an annoyance. It seemed like (again IMO) the religious aspect of the resort dictated how I could enjoy myself. I can get drunk, but only on wine and beer. Absolutely no judgement on the religious aspect, but this did seem a bit righteous to me. Had we know these two things beforehand, we wouldn’t have booked here. The location was loud (across from the airport and on a busy road), but nothing earplugs didn’t solve.

- Dustin (10/5): Nice, close to town, would stay again - Very close to town, reasonable prices at the hotel restaurant, and was a relaxing place to stay. I would definitely stay here again. The spa massages were great and reasonably priced. The beach had sargassum (early April), so one might plan to go offsite to swim, snorkel, or dive with the help of the onsite bookings from Ramon's. It is close to the airport, so you need to know you can hear the planes. Also, the bar is beer/wine only, so you have to go offsite if you want a cocktail.

They said there was a “glitch in the system” and they put us up at another property down the road. We were very disappointed. We had done a lot of research and had been looking forward to staying at Ramon’s. Does this happen often? What’s the point of paying for a reservation months in advance if they don’t have to honor your reservation?

- Srikanth (7/5): Good place to relax - The gardening around the hotel rooms was very nice and relaxing. The vicinity to the beach was very good. The food in the restaurant was good. The golf cart rental guys, the guys at the bar were all very nice. The front desk staff was very rude. I was asked to fill in forms during check-in that I had already filled out in advance ahead of my trip in response to an email I received from the hotel. When I expressed this concern, the front desk was very defensive and tried to block me without showing any courtesy that we are typically used to at good hotels across the world. While I was speaking to this front desk person, another person walked in from inside and gestured very rudely to calm myself down. This is when I felt i was maybe at the wrong place and shouldn't expect better from them. It was a very unpleasant way to start my stay where i was hoping to find some relaxation. Luckily my experience with everyone and everything else after this rough start was nice. But, the same front staff continued to be rude showing no courtesy and the typical staff politeness throughout the trip while picking up towels, etc. The hotel amenities, etc. are all very nice but it will be great if the front desk experience matches up to it.

- Juliette (7/5): Did not meet expectations - We booked this hotel because the beach looked great on the pictures but the reality was very different. I would recommend avoiding the seaweed season (we didn’t know it was thing) because the hotel is not tackling the problem, and it is piling up on the beach. The reception is unfriendly. Little information was provided about where to eat or what to do on the island. We chose the room with garden view but in fact the view was the parking lot. Filtered water is not provided in the rooms. There is no bike rental with the hotel.

Das Zimmer war sauber, das Personal freundlich. Schöne Poolanlage. Wir haben im Hotel einen Golfcar für einen Tag gemietet. Transfer zum Hafen ist inbegriffen. Wir hatten zuerst ein sehr lautes Zimmer und konnten dann wechseln. Das Essen im Restaurant ist nicht sehr gut, wir waren oft in den Restaurants in der Umgebung. Die Person beim Tauchzentrum, bei welcher man buchen kann, war sehr unmotiviert und hatte vom Tauchen leider keine Ahnung. Wir haben dann einen Tauchtag gebucht, weil es einfach zu kompliziert war. Sehr schade.

There wasn't much selection and the breakfast was $50. The only reason we didn't give a high score on "Cleanliness", we had to ask for toilet paper, paper towels, and for the garbage to be taken out.

- Amanda (9/5): Convenient and relaxing - The grounds and location were perfect. Our room, jungle standard family, was perfect for us with tons of room. The option for our kids to each have their own twin beds was perfect. Being able to schedule tours right off the property dock was very convenient too, as was the location. Very close to the airport (easy walk) yet not noisy at night because they don't fly late. Any airplane noise fades away quickly and we found ourselves not noticing. People very very sensitive to noise should be aware though. The sound is only about a minute each take off and landing. Don't let it deter you. You won't be in your room much!! The resort has a filtering system for their water and it's all drinkable from the tap. If you want cold water for refillable water bottles, the restaurant was happy to fill them for you. We loved having filtered and drinkable water from the resort. Huge perk, since there's quite a bit of plastic use on the island in general. None of our group of 7 had any issues with the water at all. Smoothies, pool, beach, dock swimming, and snorkeling were all great! Having a restaurant right there was very convenient but didn't find it a huge value. TONS of restaurants very close walking distance, as well as a couple of grocery/convenience stores very close. We did not even need to rent a golf cart, and not everyone in our group loves walking. Resort also offers transportation to and from the ferry and airport. We really appreciated not having to work out those logistics. As said before, the restaurant was a nice option but not a great value. Our literal only complaint of the whole resort is that our room smelled of something unidentifiable, similar to mothballs, and we didn't really feel it was taken seriously. We stayed in room 130, the only jungle standard family room in the resort. Our friends had other rooms and there was no smell issue at all. I feel like it is specific to that room. We told office staff and he insinuated we were sensitive to smells (which we aren't, nor are we the complaining type, especially while on vacation in a foreign country, we expect things to be different than where we are coming from, that's the point of travel!) But he did send an employee who immediately said he could smell it and it was strong. He sprayed air freshener and left us the bottle and said he would tell management. We didn't hear anything more, and were rarely in our room except to change and sleep. It didn't give us a headache or anything, so knowing it was the only room of that type, we stayed and did not mention it again except to the sweet housekeeper who my girls loved. She said she had smelled it too (I got the feeling it wasn't a new thing) and had tried everything to find the source and clean it. She suggested maybe the thatch roof? Anyway, our vacation and stay were amazing. This was one hiccup, but worth mentioning because it took several washes back home to get the smell out of our clothes, airing out of our bags, and a couple of shampoos to clear it. Our friends room smelled clean and fresh every day.

All of the dive masters and staff were very pleasant. The resort itself is also very natural looking and beautifully designed even though its right downtown. Also, the front desk staff were very hospitable. The staff at Tropic Als were rude, we stopped going and getting coffee after a few days. Also, the thatch roof we had in our room leaked with the rain and some debris/black material would fall every day covering the bedding.

Este é o hotel e o lugar mais lindo da ilha, é a minha 2ª vez que vou e só por causa do hotel, ele é uma pequena obra de arte, um oásis na ilha. San Pedro está crescendo desenfreadamente e não será mais essa ilha maravilhosa (ja não é mais), mas o Ramon’s é espetacular, uma joia de Belize. O hotel não tem WhatsApp que é um serviço gratuito e rápido. O turista q chega via terrestre não tem internet pois o roaming não funciona em Belize e eles demoram para responder pelo chat do booking, quem não conhece como chegar fica totalmente perdido, o hotel deveria oferecer um sistema de mensagens instantâneos, responder prontamente e dar informações mínimas como os horários dos barcos e mapas.

Dated rooms, small bathroom, small room. Good food in restaurant but felt a little theatrical and twee when I was looking for a more authentic experience. It was like being on a film set! I understand this is probably part of the appeal for many but it was a culture shock coming from Caye Caulker and rural Guatemala!

It was cooler at Ramon's because of the tropical layout, and the room was unique. It was peaceful and relaxing, and I LOVED that there was no TV in the room and that everyone went everywhere in golf carts. The staff was friendly and efficient, and you can walk to a variety of shops. I was with a group of divers and they had nothing but praise for the dive shop there. All in all, it's a GREAT place to stay!
