Guest Reviews
- J (8/5): Charming Inn accommodation - Great pub accommodation above a charming old inn. Obviously there is some noise from the bar but it wasn’t intrusive enough to prevent me from getting to sleep.
King size four poster bed was very comfortable and I slept well.
Only concern was the very hot towel rail adjacent to the loo, I’d hate to lean against it whilst having sampled one to many of the ales downstairs.
- Martin (8/5): - Pub accommodation with menu to our taste
- Wricko (10/5): - Lovely area and lovely food, well sited to visit the Arboretum and not far from home.
- Andy (10/5): - Great service from the staff made us feel very welcomed
- Joanna (8/5): great staff - Bedroom was quite sparsely decorated, nice bathroom. Bar staff very attentive and worked hard. Good food too - thank you. With mark-up quite expensive going through this site.
- A (10/5): - Amazing breakfast and evening meal warm welcome
- Robert (10/5): - Very comfortable. Nice bed, excellent shower. Good to be shown to your room.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The staff were very welcoming and the breakfast was delicious.
- julian (10/5): - Lovely room, great breakfast
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Although the room was well presented unfortunately the room temperature was cold even though the radiator was on full there was very little output, fortunately I spotted an electric radiator in the corridor which was not being used so improvised by using this in the room, (this may have been the reason why there was one lying around)?
Food was average.
- Lewis (10/5): Week 22 - 26/01/18 - Had a lovely weeks stay. The WiFi, the food, atmosphere, the room was good and the staff were really helpful. I would definitely return.
- adam (10/5): Lovely stay - I’m the kind of guy who likes Hiltons and Sheratons. So the idea of staying above a pub didn’t fill me with joy... but I was very pleased with the ‘hotel room’ feel of the room we were in. Clean, modern and very comfy. Breakfast the next morning was gorgeous and the staff were friendly. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.
- Sue (10/5): Great Long Weekend - What a lovely place to stay. Thoroughly unspoilt pub - rare these days!! Food was delicious. Gemma and Lucy were so welcoming. If there was one teeny matter to mention it's that we had no drawer or cupboard space in our room and as we were staying 4 nights it would have been useful to have had. Thank you all. We will be back!
- VT (8/5): Thank you - I would like to say a Huge THANK YOU to the manager of The Holford Arms, she was so kind and cool while helping us to get our car out of the snow and pointing on the right direction to get back to London - Sorry I did ask your name - But thank you very much, we hope to go back and stay there again during
warmer weather !! :)
- Dorothy (10/5): Comfortable Inn - Comfortable stay with great atmosphere and a lovely four poster bed! The meal in the pub was amazing and the atmosphere was great. Breakfast was lovely too with very friendly barman.
- Stephen (10/5): Worth a visit - We were orriginally booked into one of the Yurts on site, but due to the wet conditions we were transfered into one of the family rooms, at no extra cost. We were allowed to check in early as we had a family wedding to attend in the afternoon, so all around, they were very accomodating. Breakfast was superband the rooms contain real coffee with a small perculator...
- Richard (6/5): The most helpful staff but pub needs a spruce up! - The staff couldn't have been more helpful especially when we asked if we could have the room till 1.30 to change for a wedding.
But sleep wasn't good as the ceilings are very thin and we could hear everything from up stairs including a couple over our head having a very loud nocturnal session (couldn't think how to write it!!) the bed banging got slightly loud!! then a phone call in the upstairs rooms at 6 and we could hear every word of conversation (I know this wasn't the fault of the pub but the thin walls where!) and then a small child running up and down corridor!!
The room was very basic but with a lovely fairly new bathroom. It wasn't very clean and the bedside tables where really dusty and when I caught my white suit on the bed head it was covered in dust..
The whole place just looked as though it needed a scrub with cobwebs and dusty shelves and a lick of paint.
I really couldn't fault the staff and being extra helpful but perhaps it's time for bit of an update
- actomox (8/5): a genuine olde world experience - Clean, comfortable, warm room and good food in a genuine old pub. Handy to Westonbirt Arboretum and 5 miles from Tetbury. It is a pub with rooms not a hotel - and none the worse for that. Service genuine and friendly.
- Haley (8/5): A quintessential British pub inn experience! - We really enjoyed our stay here.
The atmosphere was exactly what you'd expect from a country pub. Locals were enjoying a pint when we checked in and while we ate. It made the experience really authentic.
The staff was super accommodating and genuine. I enjoyed talking to the barmaid.
The food was good and home made. We had the carpaccio and fries for dinner followed by the home made apple crumble for dessert. Breakfast was made to order in the morning.
The room was simple but well put together and fairly modern in style.
- Verified traveler (8/5): A great stay in the countryside - Great stay. The rooms are very new, clean and very comfortable. The convenience of it being upstairs in a pub makes dinner and breakfast easy and delicious. The staff are very polite and friendly and I will definitely stay again if I am in the area.
