Guest Reviews

- Loc (4/5): Disappointing -
- Boz (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anastasia (9/5): Superb - Quiet getaway to unwind The menu at the lodge was quite pricey and was all in USD.
- Jakob (10/5): Lovely local place where you get in contact with locals on the island Tan Phong in the Mekong river - It is a lovely island where you can bike around and meet local Vietnamese people.
The ecolodge is a lovely place with a very laid back vibe. The host arranged a nice tour by car to local sites including Xeo Quyt Forest and the Sa Dec flower markets as well as arranging our onwards journey.
- James (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tsailing (8/5): - We enjoyed our stay in the country side. The property is simple and relaxing. We spend three nights here. There is one restaurant on site, and the owner was very kind. She would asked us what time we want breakfast. and if you have preference, let her know. they would do their best to accommodate. their english was limited but with the help of google translate, we manage to have friendly conversation. Once during our chat, I showed her a picture of a dish, and mentioned that was my favorite vietnamese snack. and she told me that she would make it for me for breakfast. What a wonderful surprise.
There are bikes for us to use. and since I do not know how to ride moped, that is my primary transportation. We explore the island. The locals are extremely friendly.
My only complaint is that the wardrobe didn't work. the drawer fall apart the minute I pulled it open.
There are also a couple of things that are beyond the control of the owners. 1) noise level - due to the proximity to the market, sometimes we can hear loud music as early as 6 am. 2) electricity was cut on our last day due to the village construction.
i read the other review and came prepared with ear plug, we managed just fine.
I will come back and visit Hue and Tam.
- Gerald (10/5): pretty nice quiet stay - What started as a nightmare - despite my booking/confirmation the hotel was closed when i arrived - became a good experience, after the owner has called me and came back to the lodge to open it, just for me.
- Peter (7/5): Staff were very attentive, but not the slightest English - Just fine They need a map of the area and how to get into town and the ATM , yo we're sort of out there with no idea where you were
- Cats (10/5): Exceptional - Superfriendly staff, loved riding bikes to the restaurant. Ferry goes all day. Cute simple bungalow. Good bed.
- Paul (10/5): I had an unique experience: Hue and Than are well trained super hosts with a lot of experience and a not to be beaten sm - This is a unique lodge to stay in the Mekong Delta. A very strong team of 4 women, a beautiful wel maintained garden. They offer everything from breakfast to dinner, cooking classes, tour in Mekong delta with very good guides at a reasonable price. They help you sorting out transportation from Ho Chi Min - Saigon. nothing it was exceptional
- Merlino (7/5): Good - Location is good, very quite to meet local people.
personel was super super friendly and helpfull !!! Need to pay cash, no ATM on island so need to anticipate
- Charlotte (10/5): Tropical oasis - A nice haven surrounded by greenery. Very spacious property with large gardens, free bicycles to explore the little island, very good food, and very kind and attentive staff. The staff don't speak much English, so have your google translate app ready. Despite this, they are so kind and willing to help you with warm smiles.
- Thean (8/5): - Stayed for 2 nights at Beautiful cottages 2 with huge bathrooms with an open shower and a koi pond. Rooms were clean, beautiful and spacious . But getting here was a bit Long way for me cos I took the local bus with the owner and her assistant Huyen ( the only person that can speak and understand English ) very helpful and fun ❤️. As for the transportation , I think you can book a private car from HCM city , but not sure how much it cost . think around 80 usd .
- Verified traveler (2/5): No Communication! - The hotel we were staying in at HCMC rang Mekong Ecolodge on our behalf, and we emailed them 3 times to find directions and transport options, but nothing! We had to pay for the room anyway and ended up staying in HCMC that night at extra cost.
Dont go there!!
