Guest Reviews
- Ramatu (7/5): -
- 7e4q6h8f5c (8/5): perfect hotel for business stay - Well located at Accra downton and perfect services proposed by this hotel.
I appreciated a lot to stay 2 nights.
- Aliyu Kalgo (7/5): -
- Curiosity48770036244 (10/5): It's was a Beautiful Stay - Very relax ,Feel like Home with beautiful environment and Beautiful Costal view
- Biz (6/5): Nice and great location but too expensive for what it offers. - Location was great, breakfast buffet too. Staff were very helpful and pleasant once I got to the hotel. I was trying to reserve airport pick up and had to call several times to teach someone. Staff didn’t respond through Booking.com
Prices were a bit outrageous for the type of hotel this is.
- Barbara (8/5): -
- napomaah (8/5): Short and sweet - Great stay! Clean room, comfy bed, friendly staff, and a convenient location. Everything was smooth from check-in to check-out. Would definitely book again.
- Gilles (8/5): Comfort Hotel in Central Accra with great staff and quality food. Spiritless Hotel when empty though - We have enjoyed the bedroom, bathroom, bar, pool, outdoor facilities. During our stay, we appreciated the quality of services and reception by the staff. The weakest part of the hotel is the restaurant catering for breakfasts and all meals: the place that looks like a canteen, is not welcoming. The prices for food are for too expensive. The food is good quality.
Spiritless Hotel as it feels very empty.
- Augustus (9/5): My stay was memorable as Ghanains are ver hospitable. - Beakfast was world class Reception need more automation in exchanging money

- cqfp123 (6/5): Reasonably comfortable hotel. Service, maintenance and wifi need improvement - Stayed two nights. Good location, reasonably quiet.
Reasonable size room, which seemed to be clean, although I found a candy wrapper under the bed. Well lit desk area. Well placed power sockets. Amenities included mini-fridge, electric kettle. Comfortable bed and pillows.
Bathroom with tub/shower with one of those half-doors that inevitably get the floor wet every time you shower. Good water pressure and plenty of hot water.
The sink stopper didn't work (it couldn't be raised, so the water couldn't drain). This is definitely something housekeeping should have noticed. Since I arrived after 23:00, I mentioned the issue to the front desk the following morning, and they assured me it would be fixed. When I returned at 17:30, nothing had been done. I called the front desk again, and they stated they would send someone up. After 35 minutes, I called again since no one had shown up. Finally, they sent a maintenance man who was quite rude and acted as if I was disturbing him (it was New Year's Eve at 18:10); he partially fixed it.
The TV wouldn't turn on. I didn't care, so I didn't report the problem.
Wifi was quite slow.
Breakfast buffet with good selection.
- trouv0101 (8/5): Nice Stay - The hotel offers a delicious breakfast and the rooms are very clean.
I believe it would be even better if the room lighting were changed from the daylight-color (cool white/blue-toned) to a warm-color (yellow/orange-toned) lighting.
- Deborah (10/5): Amazing experience! Delicious meals, courteous staff, clean environment, great ambiance - Very versatile. Many options to chose from. The internet connection was unstable for some apps during early hours of the morning and late night on some days but worked well for others. I note that this to an extent might be beyond the control of the hotel but worthy of being looked into.
- 718jordan (10/5): Great stay, great staff - The hotel was beautiful and clean. The staff was very nice, Angela at the front desk was very helpful in accommodating us! I will be back.
- Adam (7/5): Friendly staff but quite dated. - The staff were friendly, the pool was nice and the breakfast was good. The hotel is pretty dated and considering it’s not cheap felt a bit disappointing.
- Dut (10/5): excellent place to stay -
- Bobbi (10/5): - Great stay all around
- auwal97 (10/5): My Brief stay at ACH - I stayed 3 nights at the Accra City Hotel, it was great. The food menu was quiet extensive, the service was amazing and staff were ever ready to help. First time in Ghana and just a few days after my trip I want to visit again. P.S I was really interested with the dance club I met there on Friday night was really an amazing experience overall
- Malinur (7/5): - Le restaurant est très moyen et cher. Fish and chips brûlé, nourriture sans goût. Chicken Tikka sans les épices. Buffalo wings: des ailes de poulet sans marinade.
- Jacqueline (8/5): Great location and friendly staff - Everyone here is friendly and chatty. Very clean hotel with a huge breakfast buffet and a nice pool right in the centre of Accra. It’s not so easy to walk to places from here, a lot of traffic…
- alagiaf (8/5): Yomi was outstanding! Great dinner buffet. - I came for the dining experience and the Jazz show with Yomi Sower!
Yomi was outstanding! A very talented singer. I will come back just to witness her again. The hotel really needs to do a better job of promoting her. They could have more people patronize them if they promoted better.
The dinner was really good. Service staff was excellent. However, I did not like the desserts, at all. They only look pretty. Bring in a foreign dessert expert.
- Seun (8/5): -
- Didier (7/5): Globalement bien mais trop cher pour cette prestation - Personnel très avenant et sympathique rapport qualité prix non convenable, chambres moyennes petit déjeuner pas assez continental
- Adjoua Sylvie Ekanza (10/5): -
- Michael (10/5): - Fantastic
- Camper100389 (10/5): Jazz singer at hotel - I heard great jazz in the Accra City Hotel bar, with performances by Maximum Jazz with Yomi Sower. I didn't get the names of the also excellent pianist and saxophonist. They were worth a return visit.
- SamuelAidoo (10/5): Review about Accra City hotel - The surrounding of the hotel is eco friendly which makes it special and invites nature. The staffs are very kind and their services stands out.
- I9612MXsara (10/5): Comfortable and nice stay - We choosed accra city hotel as our last hotel before I should leave Ghana after a longer traveling. I wanted my last days to be special there. We don't regret we choosed accra city hotel!! The quality and service are high level and the staff are kind and helpful.
The wifi could unfortunately have been better as the welcome we got in the reception from the first staff behind the desk.
- william (7/5): Good hotel staff very friend and helpful - Good location
Children’s pool
- adjuidje (8/5): Quality of the stay - I enjoyed my stay. my only disappointment was the internet connection which was working well when I just arrived but later on was really messy. If something could be done about that it will be great. Thanks
- Lawrence (10/5): - Safe
- ReinoudWillemsen (8/5): Pleasant stay - It's clean, neat and rooms are well sized and maintained. Few smaller issues like low water pressure on the 6th floor and lack of towels in the gym (besides broken gym equipment). Service was good and adequate. Food was good too, prices for drinks increased by 100% while we there, but steep to be honest.
- Ndurao23 (6/5): Pleasant -
- lynn (10/5): - I was in the exec floor.. superior rooms… all vey clean. Music was amazing on many nights
- Harshad (6/5): - Property is good but service is not up to mark. Front desk staff isn’t trained to address basic queries, calls to room service go unanswered and so on.
- Francesca (9/5): Overall the breakfast was good. The room was clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. - I like how tidy the place was and the location was close to Rawlings park. Nothing physical, but what l will say is that when l got there initially they could not find my booking but after showing them my confirmation email and a particular code and waiting for a little while, my room was made ready.
- P4458KTjamila (8/5): Pool and Live Band Night - Visited the pool last Sunday and honestly my experience was quite good everything is fairly priced, the staff is very friendly.
The live band started around 7:00 and played really well, props to Yomi with the lovely voice. Would highly recommend spending the day there!
- Carlton (10/5): They did it again. - Each time I stay there the hotel and staff seem to out perform themselves.
- myrar607 (10/5): A wonderful hotel in Accra - This hotel is truly five star. The greeting we received was stellar!! The rooms were clean, and very spacious. The hotel offered a free breakfast and it was wonderful. Everything was absolutely amazing. I would definitely recommend using this hotel and plan to use it on future trips to Accra.
- jerrylawoe (10/5): Great customer service. - The individuals stationed at the reception were great. Good communication and excellent delivery of service. There was one gentleman working with A lady called Sonia. They made everything easier.
- Tella (8/5): Very good - breakfast
- agt32nveop (8/5): very good hospitality. The Food was excellent. You need to fit all rooms with comfortable working area - very good reception and staff. I enjoyed the swimming pool and food was great
Please improve the working area in the rooms
- Msawenkosi (8/5): Very good - Food was amazing Very warm reception
- Maxime (10/5): I felt at home, Very African hospitality - I have enjoyed the local Ghanean cuisine, Breakfast was great!
- Clara (8/5): Very good - Lovely clean rooms. Staff were very helpful and professional. Offered late checkout (2pm) which was very helpful.
- ToniT1079 (10/5): Great Stay in Accra with Great Service - Our group of 17 enjoyed a three day city stay for tourism. Reception staff is extremely professional, friendly, and efficient.
Our rooms were large enough for a double bed, soft enough, desk, twin size sleeper sofa. Rooms offered a city view or pool view, tea and coffee service with kettle, walk in shower, toiletries, mini frig, large screen TV. The toilet is in a separate room from the shower and sink.
Lobby is spacious with a few separate sofa sitting areas, and several pieces of African sculpture and art that merit a careful art walk.
They offer a fitness room.
We enjoyed daily breakfast buffet with great assortment of pastries, salads, smoked fish, bacon, omelet station, baked beans, cereals, oatmeal, fresh and dried fruits. One style of coffee and black tea is self serve.
The staff is incredibly attentive and helpful.
The dinner buffet included a variety of local foods like jollop rice ( tomato based rice), local fish preparation, and traditional offerings of tender chicken, salads, breads. The dessert section offered 10 different small bites like mocha cake, crème brûlée, strawberry so we prepared a plate of each item and shared them. Alcohol service includes local and international beer, wines, and liquors.
Additional charge for the swimming pool.
- Alvinn-Yo (10/5): Environmentally friendly hotel in the center of Accra - I enjoyed my stay here at the center of the bustling city of Accra. I wanted somewhere I could experience the Ghanaian culture without having to drive or worry about traffic as I heard traffic can sometimes be quite hectic. And Accra City Hotel provided just that - a blend of excellence with luxury which is walking distance from the central markets in Accra. They are also environmentally friendly and staff openly responded to questions about animal welfare. I loved that.
- Dhar (8/5): Very good -
- geoffreyt289 (10/5): Great jazz in lounge - Amazing jazz singer
I wandered into the lobby Sunday evening and was mesmerized by the magic of the spell cast by a jazz singer in the lounge
Yomi channeled Ella, Aretha, Billie and more accompanied by a superb jazz pianist. Wow!
The rooms are adequate and clean, breakfast is excellent, nice gym and pool and good tennis court with a superb coach, Abraham!
But even if you don’t stay, do go Sunday nights for amazing singing, jazz and atmosphere in the lounge
- Mahmoud (7/5): Good -
- Outlule (10/5): - Great location and dining
- Wander26868857930 (10/5): Great jazz - Nice hotel. We really enjoyed the live jazz on Sunday night with Yomi Sower and her jazz trio. We also had a wonderful dinner at their dinner buffet.
The rooms are comfortable and the location is great. Walking distance to the National Theater.
- Angela (10/5): - Close proximity to tourist attractions.
- Emma (8/5): Very good -
- Liew (4/5): Disappointing - Location Not enough drinking water
Staffs not helpful
Food is bad.
- Dawn (10/5): - Nice quiet quaint hotel. Staff professional and courteous. Convenient location.
- Kwakye (8/5): Very good -
- Dalia (10/5): I would stay here again and recommend it to anyone - The property was in a great location. Staff were VERY accommodating & helpful. 24 hr room service & bar. Pool was nice and there were life guards. There were local vendors in the lobby whom you could purchase goods from.
- Samantha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jeremy (8/5): Very good -
- BADIROU (8/5): - Love it… and buffet was ok too
- Coulibaly (7/5): Good -
- Inspiration214188 (8/5): Nice Hotel - Clean hotel. Friendly staff. Has money exchange on site. Good location with easy access to airport and other landmarks. Would stay again.
- Annette (10/5): - this was the first time traveling to Ghana and the hotel was just what I should have expected if traveling abroad.
- Dibyaudh (7/5): Efficient - It’s simple and standard. However it’s not value for its price. WiFi was very bad, as were the rooms for the price.
- ie4d7q5t7p (10/5): A great stay at Accra City Hotel - This is the 2nd time I stayed in the hotel. The amenities, the location and the staff are superb. The rooms have been remodeled & they are very quiet. This is the perfect hotel for me.
- Carolyn (10/5): - Curteous staff, cleanliness of hotal and excellent food. Choices!
- LYNNE MARIE (10/5): - Lovely hotel at reasonable prices. The staff was professional, accommodating & pleasant. The rooms were recently updated. The bathrooms were remodeled. The hotel is located in the business district, so you can walk to the National museum, Makola market and the Art Centre.
- Carine (10/5): Exceptional -
- ColR1 (2/5): Glorified Student Digs - This 4 star hotel is a dump, I’ve seen better student accommodation than the room we had, it felt very much like a college dorm than a supposedly 4 star hotel. I was staggered at just how poor our room was. Not only were half the lights working, the phone was broken, the safe didn’t work and we had no towels. Add to that you can’t charge food or drinks to your room without adding credit to your room first. Despite having all our personal and passport details they still insisted on having a credit balance. If looking at this as a potential hotel to stay at, don’t, move on
- EmilyRowallan (8/5): Very safe. Great air con - Friendly staff, very clean rooms and public spaces, lovely pool. Amazing air con and comfortable beds. Felt very safe and great drivers on hand. I would stay again.
- joannatinus (10/5): A cozy & friendly place in Accra - I came to Accra for a business trip and Accra City Hotel was the perfect place to stay. It was very close to the Accra International Conference Centre and in walking distance to some key places to see like Makola Market and Accra Art Centre. Food in the restaurant is amazing, both local food and international, and they even had live music on Friday and Saturday night!
- Emily (8/5): Very convenient and great air con. Lovely pool too - Great location
Friendly staff
Relaxed atmosphere
- 775horacios (10/5): Jazz on a Sunday Evening !!! - I finally found it: the time, and the place where I can relax listening to great classics and smooth jazz on a Sunday evening. Yomi Sower revisits these great sounds with her amazing voice and unique passion for jazz! ... Miles, Coltrane. Also Mendez and other Latin sounds as well. A great way to prepare for the week ahead and I thoroughly enjoy it every time.
- Akram (9/5): Superb -
- Nehanda (8/5): - The service was very good. The staff was very helpful.
The swimming pool was terrible. We planned to do water aerobics daily, but the bottom of the pool was so slick we could barely stand or walk in the pool. Also, the shower floor was too slick for seniors. The needs to be bars in the shower. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay.
- Ayodele (1/5): Bad - Horrible The room was dirty
- A843EXjanetc (10/5): Excellent Hotel - Accra City Hotel is a great place to stay when we visit the city. Great location and the breakfast buffet, which is included in room price, is delicious.
- Jolanda (10/5): - Great staff and food
- Amanda (8/5): Very good -
- Eunice (7/5): Good -
- Verified traveler (4/5): Run down and basic. Not 4 star in my view. - Most of the staff were excellent but we lost faith in the hotel after a serious issue of trust.
- Chimwemwe (7/5): Good hotel, helpful staff - The location was good The aircon in the room was not working properly.
- Olakunle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jermaine (10/5): - Safe, inexpensive, central location. Good food!
- Gabor (9/5): Proper tooms, clean, friendly staff, good food, somewhat messy view around the pool as the neighbouring hotel renovation -
- Nati (7/5): Good -
- Jeffrey (1/5): Bad -
- No (9/5): Superb -
- Reverend (10/5): Fair - Excellence They failed to pick up me from the airport by shuttle to the Hotel.
- Antonio (1/5): Bad - there was coach roachs in the morning in the room. and my card was copied in hotel reception and used in facebooks ads
- Asaddo (7/5): Good -
- Joyce (10/5): Exceptional -
- Melissa (3/5): Old hotel with run down facilities, rude staff, and too expensive for what it is. - The hotel has a great breakfast. The location is very good. The night manager was very helpful and provided solutions, but I cannot say the same about the staff (in detail below). The staff is rude and unhelpful.
I had a shower (and I mean the entire shower, with the nails that held it in place) fall on me, and the AC did not work. No one offered an apology or a room change to address the issues. At one point, one of the receptionists laughed at me because the shower fell on me, in spite of it being a dangerous situation. I was only offered a room change after numerous complaints to staff and getting to speak to the manager.
- Ugochukwu (10/5): - Lovely experience.
- Sampson (3/5): Poor -
