- David (8/5): Expensive for location, wifi needs upgrading, but everything else was fantastic. Food was soo good. - The staff was great and very helpful. Bagged breakfast was nice. Meals were very good. Great linens, towels and comfy bed. Wonderful shower. Price was high considering the location. Wifi frequently cut out and/or lagged. A handful of times every night.

The night attendant could hear it too. But nothing to be done about it. I asked for a refund or something, as I never slept the rest of the night. I didnt get anything.

An ad is up for staff for various roles but no answers as to more details on the roles. Hopefully whoever takes over has an eye for the maintenance details and upkeep. Night staff member was very helpful and kind.

The hotel is old and has been smoked in for years; even though there has been a renovation, you can’t remove the smell of smoke and must. If you have breathing conditions, it’s not a good choice. There is no additional locks, no peep holes, just a key. A pedestal sink; no counter tops. Cafe was closed in the morning. No elevator.

- Anonymous (9/5): Super comfortable rooms at a quaint hotel with fantastic staff. - The hotel is a lovely unique building with very clean and comfortable rooms. The bed was SO comfortable, room was bright and mostly quiet (the AC/Fan unit drowns out highway noise) and the restaurant and tavern on site were convenient and tasty. Staff were all super friendly. The fact that the only locking device on the room doors is a basic doorknob push lock was mildly concerning. A deadbolt or swing bar lock should be absolute bare minimum on a hotel door for basic security. On a more minor note, a towel rack for the sink area would prevent wet hand towels having to sit on the tiny sink counter.

The room was clean and had no strange odours. It would have been nice to have a microwave, but the fridge was appreciated. A bag breakfast was included, which was a bonus.

I couldn’t take an enjoyable shower because i was greeted with sulfer smell every time i turned on the tap. The water being so stinky is the one thing that would make me not want to go back.

- Jason (10/5): - Let’s start with this. The ladies we encountered while our one night stay were the friendliest people you could ever encounter. The check in was as pleasant as one could hope for and truly made you feel like if there was anything you need, they got it handled. The tavern was exactly what we had hoped for. Nice big and open. We had some drinks, played the machines and had a good supper. Waitress overheard my gf and I talking about how we wished we had a deck of cards to play some rummy, within a minute we had that deck of cards along with pen and paper. Now with the negatives. What self respecting establishment in northern Alberta doesn’t have Sportsnet or some way to show the Oilers games? Hey owner, maybe that’s why your amazing bar is always empty? Also, not having the option to have breakfast onsite is a major downside to this place. But as a whole, we enjoyed our stay. Oh, the pillows on the bed were perfect. I greatly considered stealing these pillows.
