• Spears (6/5): - It was very clean The bed in our unit was hard as BRICKS!! I talked to the so call manager I believe his name was Justin!!! At almost 2 am he wanted to tell me about him hearing complaints some people like frim beds some like soft beds what his wife likes etc. My wife graduated today from upper iowa university and after a almost 5 hour drive. We barely slept no aplogizes just offering to switch our room but stating all the beds were the same!!! So what was the point of moving!! 200 bucks for a hurt back ridiculous unhappy and unfair

Breakfast was not very good - the yogurt was barely edible, the scrambled eggs were dry, and coffee was very weak and thin. There was no local/regional channel on the TV. The sheets were synthetic fabric and wrinkled - the bed was not well made.

• Vicki (9/5): It was very good, if not excellent. - The staff are very friendly. I had requested lower floor but when I got there, they had us on the second floor. They happily and quickly charged it. I also noticed 2 full tourist busses come in and the staff handled it great. There was a draft from the window so the heater worked all night but the manager said he would check into it in the morning. I believed him. He seemed truly sincere.

• Nancy (1/5): THIS WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE WE HAVE EVER HAD WITH CHANGING RESERVATION DATES. - We made this reservation on Booking.com. We needed to change the date we were staying. We were told to contact the property directly, and we did 3 days before our original arrival date. I spoke with a male and he said that he would just change the arrival date from Monday to Wednesday (October 20 to the 22nd.) When we arrived they had no record of the change in the reservation. They also did not have a king sized room, and a double queen room would be about $20 more than our original cost. THEN WE WERE CHARGED FOR THE MONDAY NIGHT FOR NOT CONTACTING THE PROPERTY & WE HAD TO STAY AT A DIFFERENT HOTEL AND PAY AGAIN!!!! (ORIGINAL RESERVATION #5998720872 Nancy Holty)
• Carol (5/5): The hotel is okay but I would likely search alternatives in Decorah. - Breakfast and seating for breakfast was very good. No complaints about the temperature control. We didn't use the refrigerator or microwave but that is a good amenity if one stays more than one day. We asked the front desk if there was an extra suitcase rack and they gave us one. I think all rooms with two beds or king beds should have two suitcase racks...otherwise furniture may be marred by extra suitcase. Size of bathroom was disappointing. Because of the small size, toilet tissue was poorly placed (a reach backwards). Also, we had two adults in the room and only one chair which was an uncomfortable desk chair. The previous hotel I stayed at (a Best Western) was so much better with adequate seating and lighting for reading, as well as bathroom layout. Thus, I was disappointed given the price level of this hotel. Luckily, we had a first floor room. I didn't notice an elevator but noticed stairs into the lobby area. If there was no elevator, that would be a huge negative.

The condition of the hotel is very good, there is newer carpet in the halls and lobby amenities were good with water and coffee available. Breakfast however was not well attended and hot items were empty both days we stayed. The room was very disappointing with dust and dirty floors in the bedroom. The bathroom was disgusting! There was human filth around the toilet and the floor proved equally filthy when wiped with a cloth. Skip this location unless you want to clean the room yourself. We plan to visit Decorah again but certainly not Country Inn and Suites!

Liz was very accommodating-she treated us like family and went above and beyond so that we could check in earlier than standard check in time. She was hustling around helping guests and just very friendly overall. Lori was very kind as well. Room was nice and clean. The pool/hot tub area was well maintained and good size! Appreciated that there was coffee available during the day. My son loved that they offered hot chocolate. Nice variety of breakfast options!

• Teresa (4/5): - The people waiting on us were friendly when they were at the welcome desk. Several times when we walked through the lobby, no one was around, even if I had a request. The worst part of our stay was the condition of our room. It was quite dusty and dirty, especially the phone. The floors had clearly not been cleaned as there was quite a bit of hair in several places, especially the bathroom. The shower had also not been cleaned - it was very dingy and had hair on the floor. We will not stay at this hotel again.

Bathroom needed a small amount of work. Shower head was a little leaky and dated. Large tub shower combo. Direct TV. Large tv. Pool and hot tub are great. Bice breakfast. No elevator (jsyk) no problem for us but be aware. Great location, out of town but within 5 min of everything. Have stayed jere many times and plan on going again
