From the front desk to house keeping and everything in between, each person we met made us feel welcome and comfortable. Location is convenient and Camden Maine is just gorgeous.

The breakfast was nice. The front desk was very nice. The people who worked at the hotel were quite nice too. I thought the bed was uncomfortable. The noise in the morning was awful. Dump trucks coming and going starting at 4:30 am. I wouldn't say the room felt totally clean. On the surface yes, but upon closer look, no.

shandrah2018 (10/5): Lovely boutique hotel in the heart of Camden - We stayed two nights at 16 Bay View, and it was the nicest of our 9-day Maine trip. We had a street/city view king room on the third floor. (There’s an elevator.) The room was beautifully appointed with a walk in rain shower and separate jetted tub that was perfect after a day on the road. The room had a balcony we didn’t really use, but we enjoyed the gas fireplace. Breakfast in the Vintage Room was hot and tasty with homemade pumpkin bread that was absolutely delicious. The rooftop bar was a nice spot for drinks before heading out to dinner. The only slight negative was that daily housekeeping is by request only. That wasn’t made clear at checkin. But it was a very minor point. Overall it was a terrific stay, and I’d go back!

755melisa (6/5): Beautiful Room, But Service and Communication Fell Short - The room itself was absolutely beautiful — two fireplaces, a heated bathroom floor, a soaking tub, and an amazing shower made it feel luxurious and relaxing. Unfortunately, the overall experience didn’t match the high price point. Both the bar and restaurant were closed with no advance notice. When traveling to Maine in the shoulder season, we carefully choose hotels based on convenience and available amenities, so finding out on arrival that these were unavailable was a major disappointment. On top of that, our room was never refreshed. Breakfast dishes were left out all day, even after texting and speaking with the front desk. The staff generally seemed checked out and uninterested in ensuring guests had a pleasant stay. This was a five-star price tag with a three-star experience at best. A beautiful property, but the lack of communication and attention to detail really diminished what could have been a great stay.

Colbie (9/5): Perfect location and views - The location is perfect for exploring downtown Camden! They have a nice bar on the roof for guests, with awesome views of the water. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with a nice balcony on the water side. The breakfast was also tasty. This is our 2nd time staying here! The only downside was the price is a bit high and if you're on the top floor, you can hear people moving chairs and walking around in the rooftop bar until close to 10pm.

Jacquirose00 (10/5): Great Hotel in the Heart of Camden. - This is a wonderful hotel with a world class staff. Terrific location; so much within walking distance in Camden, and the front desk was really helpful about day trips and car excursions. Lovely rooms (all have king beds) and the bathroom had a wonderful soaking tub. Fireplace was a nice touch. Only drawback was that my room faced the front street and bar across the street dispelled an obnoxiously loud crowd beginning at midnight each night...if you get a room that faces front, ask for another one. Lovely breakfast included each morning and the rooftop bar has fabulous views.

There was a slightly unpleasant/antiseptic smell in our room and the carpet was worn (not that clean seeming). The bathroom also had a sulphur smell (?). Not sure. If the carpet was replaced and/or wood, I believe it would be 100% improved. Rooftop bar was fantastic!

liz_collierville (10/5): Cute Camden Hotel - From the well appointed rooms with luxurious bathrooms to the delightful staff, this boutique hotel is a great spot to relax. The complimentary breakfast is fantastic with a robust assortment of dishes that are made in house. Staff offered several dining and shopping tips that made our visit memorable.
Susan (10/5): - What a perfect ending to our trip up and down the coast of Maine. Our room and balcony overlooked the street and we had such a good time people watching! The rooftop lounge was perfect. Good food, great drinks, and an incredible view of the harbor. We have stayed in Camden several times, but this location and hotel was the best. The bathroom was amazing and bed very comfortable. Everything we wanted to do was within walking distance. We will return.

There’s a mold issue in the shower and though the shower head is very nice and modern it wasn’t as clean as it should be. The room carpet was very dirty, there food crumbs in night stand drawers and whole loose chips on the beautiful fancy chairs! First thing we saw when we walked in the room, pointed out to front desk staff who happened to be walking by, they seemed shocked and apologetic. The room needed a professional deep clean. Fiends that traveled with us and stayed in another room on a different floor said the same thing about mold in shower. Again great location and very kind staff just needed it to be cleaner for what we paid.

They try to use the bathtub, but turning on the air, Jets would do nothing but bring black particles into the water. We could get rid of it. Rooftop bar/restaurant was great but if you’re looking for a quiet room or hoping to get to bed at a decent hour, stay elsewhere. Room was very loud until after the rooftop closed.

Enjoyed the small vintage bar downstairs for a drink and complimentary breakfast. There were nice views and ambiance from the Rooftop bar, also. Staff very friendly and accommodating.
joelkshapiro (8/5): Great hotel, but hard to sleep! - Ok, so there's a lot to really like about this hotel, but one problem that isn't their fault. First, the good - the rooms are super nice, high-end bathroom is great, and just overall really luxurious and stylish. The staff was helpful, and the lobby was inviting. Rooftop is a great space. But... it's very close to the church in town, which rings on the hour. Every hour. All night long. And it's really loud. At 9 pm, my wife and I heard the bells and thought "wouldn't that be hilarious if that happened all night?" At 10 pm, you're wondering if maybe that's going to happen. Then 11, then 12, and it's not as funny. And each time the bells ring, it's pretty darn loud and so sleeping is really hard. If you live there, I imagine you get used to it. We were on the street side of the hotel, which is closer to the church and probably louder. Hopefully the side over the parking lot isn't as bad. There's nothing the hotel can do differently, but it's a tough place to get a decent night's sleep.

The breakfast buffet was very good with a lot of options and the rooftop bar had the best views and best service. The room was cleaned and restocked however the blanket was just kind of thrown back on bed. This was such a minute issue that I almost didn’t mention it. Definitely will return if we’re ever in Camden.

briannaw954 (10/5): Charming and cozy, recommend for the romantics at heart! - Ellie was very friendly and helpful during check in, and check out was quick and simple too. The room cleaners were also very kind when we passed in the hall. The waitstaff at both The View and The Vintage Room were warm and welcoming, and service was pleasant everywhere we went. We enjoyed our stay as it was unique in comparison to the winter months when we came last year. While there was less to do then, it was a good opportunity for us to fully take advantage of the beautiful rooms. Room 38 is our favorite! The room is clean, cozy, and accompanied by the perfect balcony view. I wish I could take the soaking tub home with me! The shower is also a bonus, and the brick compliments the marbled floor so well. It really is stunning and gives a luxurious charm. Not cookie-cutter like other hotels! True B&B vibe. I would like to add that the drinks and food that we experienced at both bars, was truly impressive for such a small operation. The staff appeared very dedicated to providing a great atmosphere for you to enjoy your stay.
Heather (6/5): - I’ve been staying at Bay View for many years. It’s always been top notch as far as cleanliness, etc. walked into our room and it was filthy. The front desk was nice enough to show us two other rooms that weren’t a whole lot better but being that we drive all the way from Mississippi, we ended up staying. It came with a hefty price tag to almost a grand for two nights. Far from what you would expect at that cost. I’m very disappointed.
Jen (10/5): - The hotel itself was wonderful- very clean and comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. The bar downstairs was also really good, and the breakfast was really good for being included with your stay. My advice is to get a room on the ocean side if you're a light sleeper. The hotel is directly across from a bar that is open until 1am and it was very noisy. Also, there is a bell that rings every hour (one ring for each hour of the day). I would definitely stay here again, but on the water side.

Susan (8/5): Close to perfect - There are many things we LOVED about this stay. The doube sided fireplace, the huge soaking tub, the double balconies with the beautiful views. The bed was very comfy and the hotel is very convenient to all things Camden. However, there was a piece of trash that was left in the shower along with what appeared to be a cleaning rag. The plug for the tub had mold on the interior and there was chipped paint on the wall around the tv. A little more attention to detail and the room would have been perfect.

sweetfloss (10/5): Attention to detail was appreciated! An extra nice hotel! - A very comfortable, central location to explore Camden. The people are friendly and the rooms are immaculately clean. Our bed was super comfortable with luxurious linens and a nice variety of pillows. I love when there are blackout drapes and shears for privacy, both in excellent working condition. The chair options were varied, in great shape and very convenient. They even conveniently provided two luggage racks- just another example of the great attention that is given to help you have a great stay! The bathroom was exceptionally appointed in marbles with very modern fixtures, a huge shower and bathtub plus two sinks and great water pressure. Breakfast was hot, fresh , delicious and staff was on hand to refill offerings pleasantly. (Eggs, sausage, pancakes, home fries and more) It was super busy when we were there but no one panicked and everyone seemed to find a cozy spot. The Vintage restaurant is not big but it’s cozy. We had a lovely dinner with friends one night and the ambiance was quiet but active and all five of the apps that we tried were terrific. The cocktails were made with care and very creative. We visited in the winter while many of the local businesses were closed but I can imagine, in the summer that the many shops would highlight this great location. One challenge might be the parking, as there seems to be a lack of spaces but we were lucky enough and managed well even though it was a very busy night.
