Guest Reviews
- Rodrigo (10/5): - Muy bonito
- Hylenne (10/5): - The receptionist was very nice, kind and helpful!
The sheets and towels were very soft and smelled very nice!
- Eduardo (8/5): - Buena. Relación costo-beneficios
- Kevin (10/5): - Excelente
- Daniel (10/5): - Nice little hotel the staff were very friendly and helpful. Clean spacious room and easy check in and out.
- Sophie (10/5): - Super be établissement
- Patricia (10/5): indo! - Bien ubicado y buena atención, gracias
- Pablo (10/5): Amazing place to stay - Everything was amazing!!!! We enjoyed a lot our stay!! Thank you!! Highly recommend!!
- Verified traveler (4/5): Ugh avoid - I really don't know who this place is for. Its not great for couples and doesn't suit backpackers. The rooms have been made to look good on the website but they are rubbish to be in. There isn't anywhere to sit other then the bed. Your bags have no space or clothes so everything on to the floor. The shared toilets are old but at least clean. the sink in your room makes it bit annoying to wash your hands. The shower were very poor not aired so shower mats were wet and the place smelled. one shower door didn't lock which isn't ideal.
there isn't a shared space to make tea or lunch during the day which is part of the charm of hostels.
the location is great in the center of the city however it's no help having your hostel close if you don't want to spend anything in your room which was the case with this place.
I've seen other reviews saying that this hotel is fine for the price which might be true for some but if I was to go again id stay somewhere outside the city and walk in there isn't much reason to be in the city after 8 and the city is very easy to walk around
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It’s a private room, walls a bit too thin I think but we slept in silence so that was great, showers and toilet were ok clean, the place is super central and cheap so overall worth it!
- Ali (2/5): - It was the worst experience I ever had with Hostal-Hotel , the I couldn't sleep the room was infested of begbugs , in the bed in the walls in the carpet , nobody was in the front desk , 4 am ( the guy came 5:20 ) ... They send me to another hotel after 4 hrs later when I was waiting I had to sleep in the Looby chair , I lost my 10:30 am walking tour , they just give me 10 euros back for the breakfast .... The worst experience ever !!!!
- Ben (10/5): - Very central and great accoms. No bathroom in the room, but one on each floor that was. Clean. Checked in late and the hostel was great for helping us out with that.
- Raymond (8/5): Great Location, Reception & service minimal. - The location is Great! Good value, & overall stay was very good. The only real draw back is the reception is only open from 9:30 am to 6pm. If you need help outside those hours, you ring the door bell outside & talk with someone on the intercom.
- Jon (8/5): - Private rooms. Quiet and pleasant. Great location. New beds amaZing. Walkable to all you need to see .
- Marina (10/5): - Location is excellent. Staff is friendly and nice. Room is clean and comfortable. Total impression is very good! I would recommend to everybody plan their stay at this place)
- Gigi (8/5): MEH, great location though.... - You have to ring to get in, Something that would have been nice to know ahead of time. Got my room, stairs straight up.. Not good for older travelers fyi... Everything was fine. No air conditioning which would have been nice to know ahead of time as I would not have booked it. And the shower had to keep getting pumped to run so I couldn't wash my hair...
Great location but def more suited for people who aren't used to air & real running water. The host were super nice. Bed was Lumpy. Very Lumpy...
So basically, Its a room. Its a bathroom. The location is great. Everything else. Meh
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was great - a step up from a typical hostel. The room was really nice, the location superb, and helpful friendly staff. Highly recommended.
- Jose (10/5): - Great staff and location. Close to several POIs and great food places.
- Jerry-Lee (10/5): My stay! - Modern, clean, luxurious, great location, helpful staff!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The staff were very helpful. They furnished me with information on the sites and transportation logistics.
- Bethany (8/5): Hostel not hotel - Me and my boyfriend stayed in a private bedroom meaning we had our own bathroom opposed to a shared one with other residents. The bathroom is more of a temporary mobile room within your room which takes up a lot of space but none the less for the money we paid we had an amazing stay. The receptionist was more than helpful and extremely friendly, giving us a map highlighting cheap places to visit and eat which was so useful and we did end up going to the places he recommended! Overall, although the room was short of space and the walls were fairy thin, it isn’t a hotel it is a cheap hostel and for the price of it right in the centre of Brugges town it exceeded both our expectations and we had a lovely stay!
- Heena (8/5): Warm and cosy! - It was noisy in morning but that wasnt a problem. Warm, cosy and convinient.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Check in was smooth, and the receptionist was extremely accommodating! He switched our room for a first floor room because my leg was broken and that was very helpful. The hostel is centrally located and ten minutes away from the Market Square and great food.
- Amy (10/5): - Great central location. Staff very helpful and kind. Perfect if you want to spend a little less but still have your own room.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good - Good and central. Not great quality but doesn’t claim to be.
- Andrea (6/5): Fine hostel with a quirky twist - The staff (unfortunately I have forgotten his name) at check in was excellent - very helpful and friendly. The hostel is quirky - my room was on the top floor of many many narrow stairs and in a somewhat unusual twist you enter the room through the toilet. Fine for me but may not be to everyone's taste. On the plus side it was sufficiently clean, larger than average room, and had lovely views. Good location on a quiet street with a few great restaurants and cafes, easy to walk to the sights (5-15 mins for most things) and the train station (15 min).
- Helene (8/5): - Shower pression was stupide!
All way too noisy.
Change carpet for floorwood
More Space to hang towels
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good hostel - You check in alone but during the morning you will meet the staff. Very friendly and heldpful.
- Muthuraman (10/5): - Very good hospitality, clean and comfortable. Excellent location with nice eateries nearby!
- Golf (8/5): Great location and easy check in and out - I stayed only one night at this hostel but I find its very nice and conveniently located close to many attractions spot. Staffs are very helpful and eager to help.
- Graciela (10/5): Great value! - This was such a great stay, a great deal and in a great location. Keep in mind we stayed in a private room with a private bathroom and it was totally worth it. The staff was friendly. The coffee shop right next to it is affordable and serves great breakfast. Overall I would recommend.
- polli (6/5): Cheap no frills with central location - Hotel owner greeted us and was very helpful. Ended up in different building but nicer place. Very easy access to Mark and Burg squares. Basic room but clean.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Central and affordable - Needed somewhere in central Bruges, this converted B&B very handy. Booked a non en-suite room, best showers a real climb upstairs. No in-room TV, Wi-Fi worked fine. Bed very comfortable. General feel of the house slightly scuffed at the edges, clean for sure but not sparkling. Reception staff superfriendly and helpful. Entry is by door code.
- Lauriane (10/5): Very good value for money - Very good value for money. Great location for the hostel; very central close to pubs and attractions.
- kc (10/5): A night in Brugge - Great location , perfect for a one night stay , lovely comfy room
- Lauren (8/5): Quirky hotel on quiet alley off main street - Finding Hostel 28 was a breeze, and check in was easy. The gentlemen at the desk kinda carried my bag up the three flights of stairs and showed me how to access everything in the room. He also gave me lovely suggestions for more local, less touristy places to eat, what to see, and other thoughtful items. I was not in the main building, and I was the only person staying in the building next door, which is right above a darling cafe, where I ate each morning. The street is extremely quiet, but there are a few options for food and drink, too! Couldn't hear street noise at all. The room itself was, quite plainly, bizarre. The set up was extremely odd. The door from the stairwell has no outside handle, so you can only open it from the inside. I guess that eliminate the need for a lock, but it was still weird. You open the door immediately into the toilet room, then there's the lockable door and another door into the small sitting room. There were two folding chairs, two coffee/side tables, a dresser, a television, and an odd bench of sorts that I used for my luggage. The shower and sink room is off that room, and the bedroom is another door off the sitting room. No doors stayed open on their own, so I propped them open to improve air flow to keep the little apartment cool. Felt safe and quiet.
- jenny (8/5): great quiet convenient location - we had a great stay. very friendly staff, comfortable room. the bathroom was a little smelly
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good price, great location! - This is a great place to stay. The price is reasonable and the location could not be better.
- Alanah (8/5): Great hotel close to the centre of Brugge - Hostel 28 is perfect placed for exploring Brugge and the surrounding area! We stayed here for two nights and found the hotel to be excellent. Our room was large and comfortable as was the bathroom. The small common area and coffee machine is great, but it would have been nice to have kettle (for hot water) and toaster handy to use. The gentlemen who met us was polite and wonderful, even letting us check in early
To save us carrying our luggage around.
Would happily stay here again in a heartbeat!
- Robert (8/5): Great Spot in the heart of Ghent! - This place is a good place to stay in the heart of Ghent. Very central location. It's a mod spot with card access to the building and rooms. Walls are a bit thin and you'll hear your neighbors if they are the slightest bit loud. The beds on our bunk beds were insanely comfortable! Some of the most comfortable we've encountered throughout Europe. Overall a good stay!
- solotraveler (8/5): Great budget choice - In the heart of town, very convenient location. Old building but double room with private bath was spacious and toilet/shower facilities adequate. Slightly sagging bed, otherwise superb sleeping. There is a front desk but it is not staffed 24 hrs a day, the clerk was helpful and building is secure.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Place was clean, but bed very uncomfortable. Would recommend to younger travellers only.
- Nicole (10/5): Great hostel in Brugge! - Great hostel within walking distance to all the restaurants, pubs, and market (everything is pretty close in Brugge). The owner was welcoming, accommodating, and very helpful. He had maps, brochures, and a book of restaurants available. He also mentioned ongoing renovations, which I imagine will make the hostel even better. The shared bathroom was tiny and not the cleanest, but it was shared, after all, and fine. Rooms were clean and comfortable. I would stay here again.
- louise (10/5): An excellent hostel in the heart of town - We had an wonderful stay in hostel 28 with brilliant, helpful staff who made our trip a pleasure. The room was clean and the location was brillian. We did not require public transport and could walk to all the main attractions. The price was very affordable. Highly recommend.
