donpN2300WM (10/5): Wonderful experience staying at the Mt. Gardner Inn - We stayed in the Raven Ridge A 1-bedroom apartment and the Pheasant Room and we loved both of them. They are both on the ground floor in the building at the back of the property and are clean, comfortable, quiet, and nicely furnished. We loved property grounds and the location on the edge of town. Raven Ridge A had a very nice kitchen/living room/dining room with a wonderful view of the mountains. We enjoyed meeting Alison, the owner, who is very nice and helpful, and we enjoyed exploring the small western-themed town of Winthrop. Highly recommend the Mt. Gardner Inn!
swil717 (10/5): Fantastic stay! - We stayed in the Grouse room and had a lovely view from the balcony deck. The room was immaculate, very quiet, and very comfortable. We appreciated the lobby amenities where we borrowed ceramic dinnerware, silverware, cups, wine glasses, wine opener, etc. There were also DVDs available. We met Alison, one of the owners and she recommended a lovely drive with a 10 minute hike to Falls Creek, which was magnificent. The cute western-themed downtown with restaurants and shops is not to be missed! We would not hesitate to recommend this Inn and hope to return soon!

Roving61673358630 (10/5): Mt. Gardner for the WIN! Another year of fabulous memories with friends. - Our 3rd annual trip to Winthrop/Mazama with friends was a hit! We've booked with Mt. Gardner Inn all 3 years and really enjoyed the apartment this year. Lots of room and plenty of amenities (large kitchen table, full kitchen, sleeper sofa, comfy lounge chairs, etc.) for groups/family gatherings. We enjoyed closing out the day with game nights and charcuterie snacks purchased from the famous Mazama store. The baguettes are a MUST! Rented cross country skis from the Winthrop Mountain Sports store and enjoyed the trails/loops in Mazama. Drove up to Sun Mountain Lodge where we ventured out on the snowshoe trails (Kraule to Black Bear and back is a great workout with gorgeous views, 6 miles total) and the following day we snowshoed around Patterson Lake with a large group, 5 miles total. Our favorite things about Mt. Gardner Inn are the excellent customer service, cleanliness, location (middle of town and accessible to everything by foot), and the small business/family feeling. Booked for 2027 on our way out! Thank you for always making our stay special! :)
David (10/5): Enjoyed it very much and will be returning! - The room was beautiful. Spacious. Much better than a standard hotel room. It would be nice to have a non slip mat in the tub and outside the tub. It’s challenging to get out and tile is very slick!

Convenient location close to town. We spent an enjoyable 5 days xc skiing in Mazama and exploring Winthrop. Skiers should note Mt. Gardner is, as advertised, a small hotel, not a ski lodge. We found it convenient to leave most of our gear in our car-top carrier, as there was limited space inside for ski bags, etc. This was not a problem for us, and we would happily return to both Winthrop and Mt. Gardner Inn.

Gardner Inn was a great base for our four one-day hikes on weekdays. Our lodging, bath, and bedding were very clean and comfortable, and the amenities provided were as described on the Inn website. We also very much enjoyed exploring the town of Winthrop, which has a unique charm. We hope to return in the future, and have recommended the Inn to friends without hesitation.
davidbF8120SF (10/5): Beautiful relaxing - This is a beautiful well kept secret. It’s out of the way, so nice and quiet, but easy to walk to downtown Winthrop. We chose the Raven A room in case the weather was inclement, but even when the weather was good, we couldn’t wait to get back and enjoy watching the deer from our balcony where we ate breakfast and dinner. David (10/5): - This is a beautiful well kept secret. It’s out of the way, so nice and quiet, but easy to walk to downtown Winthrop. We chose the Raven A room in case the weather was inclement, but even when the weather was good, we couldn’t wait to get back and enjoy watching the deer from our balcony where we ate breakfast and dinner. Comfortable mattress and good sheets and pillows. Good water pressure in the shower and hot water fast. Very, very clean room (I was in #4). Lots of hooks on the walls as well as ample storage space which was nice since I was there for 4 nights. Easy check-in and check-out ... clear communications via email and text. I would gladly stay here again.
pixiestix (10/5): Highly recommend Mt Gardner Inn - Mt Gardner Inn was a very clean and comfortable place to stay during our short visit to the east side of the Cascades. We enjoyed the in-room coffee, fridge, comfy beds, and bags of ice in the lobby for our cooler. Our only issue were the guests in the room next door that smoked on their balcony. Because of the smell, we were not able to enjoy the mountain air with the windows open.

The room was immaculate, indicating how much concern and effort was given to providing us with a first rate experience. However, that was topped by the genuine attention from hostess Alison Knab. She truly cared about our 3 day experience in Winthrop, providing us with details about the quaint little town and other places nearby. She took her time with us and focused on things that were of interest to us. We will definitely return to this lovely Inn and its beautiful surroundings. mahinacat2 (10/5): No better accommodations - Perfectly located to explore the trails of the southern unit of NCNP. The hosts have thought of EVERYTHING to make for a very pleasant and comfortable stay; USB ports, great internet connectivity, good lighting, microwave, fridge, a table to eat/organize things, spaces to hang items, enough linens, super comfy beds, plenty of room for luggage/etc, great shower, super convenient parking, AND a great cozy common room to investigate all the displays or borrow a DVD to watch in your room. We stayed in a room that was nearer the road, and the road noise was next to nothing. There was a little fountain right outside our door, and we never heard it. The town is just over the bridge and it has a petrol station that is open to midnight. This Inn is the absolute benchmark. We normally view a room as a place to rest, clean up and store our stuff, bc we go to places to experience them, not sit in a room, BUT if our schedule hadn’t been so filled we would have thoroughly enjoyed a bit of down time at the Inn!

unctheel (10/5): Wonderful stay in a quaint inn - First time visiting the North Cascades and decided to stay in Winthrop, a fun, cowboy-like town, with nice restaurants and shops. We stayed at Mt. Gardner Inn, a short 10 minutes walk from town, and could not have been more pleased! We stayed in the very spacious Raven Ridge room. The room was beautiful, with a long couch in front of a nice gas fireplace, and a lovely sitting area. The king bed was quite comfortable, the bathroom had a large tub, walk in shower and two glass-bowl sinks. It could not have been a more comfortable room to come back to after some long day hikes in the Cascades. The innkeepers also provided free bags of ice in their nicely appointed office. Also enjoyed sitting on the spacious balcony watching the wildlife forage through the adjoining trees and yards. If I were ever to return to this area, this would be the place to stay! These folks know how to do inn keeping right!

There were lots of nice touches including quality sheets and towels, a refrigerator/freezer in the room, coffee mugs and glassware available in the lobby, and a nice selection of DVDs if you feel like watching a movie. After visiting Winthrop I’m glad we picked this place to stay. Would definitely recommend the Mt Gardner Inn.

The room was very comfortable and clean, check-in/check/out was smooth and easy, and the Inn is well located for outings in the Okanagan National Forest. We'll check for availability at this Inn first when we plan future trips to Winthrop!

People have to leave early to go for hikes, and frankly a breakfast option would not hurt at this price point, and with no local options available in the early AMs it makes even more sense.

The dog fee was quite reasonable, but the main issue was that our room was very close to the road which was noisy and a bit dangerous.

Kevin (10/5): Charming Hotel, Great Basecamp to the N. Cascades - Lovely, quaint hotel with a warm and quiet atmosphere just across highway 20 from the beautiful Methow River. It's a perfect jumping off point to Winthrop (walking distance) or Twisp. For us, it was a great basecamp to travel to the North Cascades National Park with lots of fun shopping and food options to look forward to after a day spent outdoors. Check-in and check-out were seamless. We left feeling great about our choice to stay here. Would definitely return and certainly recommended. Highly.

We had a lovely room on the first floor overlooking the garden, with views to the mountains, and a balcony. The Inn is a 5 minute, level walk to the centre of Winthrop with its shops, cafes and restaurants. Plenty of parking at the Inn. The owners were very helpful and understanding when we had a problem with our credit card. We would definitely stay there again
