- Israel (10/5): - Charming hotel. The staff are very nice and attentive. The building is always clean and there’s an ice cream shop inside. It’s in a good location with a lot of options nearby.
- Paul (8/5): - Nice hotel in the old town. It is a little bit of a trek to get to the night market area. It was clean and quiet and the wifi worked well.

- Agnes (10/5): - Very nice clean place and the front desk was very helpful and very nice.

The staff is very friendly and kind they make sure you have anything you need I was taking a taxi and the lady walked me one block and gave directions to the driver to take me to my destination
Entire bed was changed two times during my four nights stay always fresh towels
At the reception there is always coffee and snacks
I couldn’t ask for more !!!
- Michael (10/5): - It was better than the pictures! The hotel is convenient to shopping and restaurants. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Will absolutely stay again!
- Angela (10/5): Loved our stay - The staff was so friendly. Very clean. Close to everything. They gave us ice cream when we checked in.
- Jeonghoo (10/5): great location and clean! - it is the only room suits for 3 adults when i was booking. so clean, great location! almost every tour sites you can go by foot!!
- Nicole (10/5): - This is a very lovely hotel and the owner and staff take pride in their work. Great location and great experience overall!
- Richard (10/5): - Highly recommend this hotel
- Sona (8/5): - The best thing was the house keeping, cleaned up everyday, drinking water was provided every day. The owner is very nice and polite. The room are a bit dated but other wise all was good.
The location was very nice, walking distance to all attractions and night markets.
- Maureen (10/5): 3 day stay in chiang mai - Lovely 3 night stay, very comfy bed and spacious room, lovely people ready to help and they have a nice little cafe which they serve up smoothies. Location was great round corner from Sunday night market a loads of temples within walking distance couldn’t have chosen better
- Mohamed (10/5): - Perfect :)
- Lauren (10/5): - Amazing hosts !! So helpful ! Wonderful service, clean well looked after hotel. So close to everything !
- Verified traveler (10/5): Chang Mai hotel - Convenient location to walk around the old city in Chang Mai. Two things to note- staffing is limited which was fine but something to keep in mind. Also the rooms are not soundproof so you’ll hear people walking by in the hallway or garbage truck sounds. Room was comfortable and would stay again, and we liked getting ice cream at check in 😀.
- adam (10/5): - Nice location, excellent staff
- Hilary (10/5): - The perfect place to stay in Chiang Mai. Nothing overly fancy, but gets the job done and the staff is sweet.
- Joseph (10/5): - Namamema Boutique Hotel is a fantastic family owned and operated property. Luna and her staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome and comfortable during your stay. The room we had was a lovely 2 level suite with plenty of space for 5 adults. The location in Chiang Mai is perfect for walking to the temples and restaurants. We would highly recommend Namamema for anyone traveling to the area.
- Susan (8/5): - Our room was basic but had the essentials. Wifi was spotty so could not stay longer as using for work. Also movies would continually pause if streaming. The school noise was not bad (from other reviews we expected it to be louder). No interaction with staff as nobody was able to speak English. Says it was built in 2015 but guessing changed into hotel that year as an older building in layout and room design. Some quirky elements but makes it unique. Very good breakfast place at the end of the block!
- Leslie (8/5): - Nice spot to stay in the old town. You can walk to lots of great spots. The facilities are adequate. There was some misunderstanding about breakfast. I thought I booked it to include breakfast, but was told after arrival that it didn’t. It wasn’t a big deal as there’s restaurants nearby. We actually went to a 7/11 and got some yogurts and kept them in the fridge. Easy and cheap!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Friendly staff - We were very appreciative of the hotel staff to be able to check us in early following an early morning flight.
Good location within walking distance of plenty to see in the town.
- Sara (10/5): - We only stayed here one night after the sunday walking street. Location is ideal and very walkable. The rooms arent fancy but they are clean and all you need for a good nights rest. We were greated with fantastic coconut ice cream while checking in. The only issue is there is a school located across the street and loud speakers go off around 8am. If you enjoy sleeping in, you might not love it here.
- Kathryn (10/5): - We had a wonderful stay at this hotel, largely thanks to the amazing staff. From the moment we arrived, they greeted us warmly (with ice cream, no less!) and were always friendly and smiling throughout our stay. Housekeeping also went above and beyond, folding our towels into adorable little elephants, which was such a thoughtful touch.
That said, there were a few inconveniences during our stay. The building does not have an elevator, which was a bit of a challenge since our rooms were on the third and fourth floors. The room we reserved included two bathrooms, but one shower didn’t have hot water, so everyone ended up sharing the same one. Additionally, the locks on the bathroom doors didn’t work properly, and I even got stuck for a while.
Overall, the fantastic service and warm atmosphere made for a great stay, and we would recommend this hotel. However, these small issues might be game-changers for some, so it’s worth considering if you’re planning a visit.
- Matthew (10/5): - The host of this property has to be the nicest person alive. She cooked me free breakfast before my flight when I was departing. Great experience.
- Mirza (10/5): - Nice cozy boutique hotel with great helpful and cheerful staff. Will stay again if I choose same neighborhood. While the property is nice and cozy, it does not have an elevator, so choose a lower floor if too much luggage or physically challenged.
- Paul (10/5): Highly recommend - We arrived well before checkin time but they welcomed us graciously and put us in our rooms early. The room was very pretty and comfortable with all amenities. When we came back to the hotel after sightseeing in the afternoon we were greeted with smiles and complimentary ice cream. They even took our dirty laundry and had it washed for us. There are many cute shops and restaurants close by and nice massage parlors when you’re sore from sightseeing.
- Hanae (10/5): - The owner and staff were so friendly, caring, and accommodating during our stay.
- Martin (10/5): - Great stay. Can't ask for more than clean, comfortable and quiet! Ice cream was incredible and highly recommend during any day, not just the hot ones.
- Jared (10/5): - We loved our stay at Namamema. Chiang Mai is a really wonderful city, and this is right in the heart of the Old City. Walking distance to a 7-Eleven and a currency exchange place, and also right by Way Chedi Luang and the awesome Sunday Night Market, it really is in a great location. There's a Coco Mango place downstairs that serves great mango sticky rice. Everyone we interacted with at the hotel was very nice. Highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Chiang Mai!
- Corinne (8/5): - Awesome location and beautiful colonial building. A lot of attention was given to the decoration in the rooms.
- Daniel (10/5): - A great hotel with really spacious rooms in the middle of the old city if you're planning to explore the area.
One thing to note is that they don't have 24-hour staffing, ie. their front desk is available starting at 8am for check out, so something to keep in mind when determining the timing of your flight out of Chiang Mai.
- Susan (10/5): Book now, don’t miss out. - This is a hidden gem. It’s not fancy but it is very comfortable, clean, and safe. Luna and her staff are the best. If we had any questions or needs they were quick to respond. They went out of their way to ensure we were happy. We were 3 women traveling together and were able to all be in the same “apt” with our own beds. We would def recommend them to everyone we meet. AC and refrigerator worked well. Beds were clean and comfy. Also the location was perfect to all that we wanted to do while in Chiang Mai. Thank you Luna for a memorable stay.
- Arsenio (10/5): - Very good stay, clean and friendly staff. Only drawback is no elevator, but the staff helped in carrying luggage up to 3rd floor which is no problem for us
- Gabriel (10/5): - Very cozy and nice atmosphere. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Room was clean, bed is comfortable, and the design is good. There is also some nice seating areas on the landings that look out on the street.
The hotel is in the heart of both the city and the old city and is walking distance from many good attractions, restaurants, museum's, galleries, shops and bars etc. The area has a nice vibe.
Also, as Chiangmai is small city, the hotel is only about a 15 minute drive from the aiport by taxi.
They also have a small shop downstairs that sells vegan coconut icecream sundaes with banana or mango. They look very delicious there and seem very famous among tourists.
- Gabriel (10/5): - Very very good. I had two consecutive bookings at this hotel and shared a detailed review on the longer one.
- Jennifer (10/5): - The location, friendly hosts, comfortable bed and the Banana Paradise from the ice cream place downstairs were all AMAZING! I 100 percent recommend this beautiful hotel!
- susan (10/5): - This boutique hotel is fabulous!! Clean great location. They have a cute little coffee dessert bar down stairs but no breakfast service. Luna the owner is helpful and welcoming!! Highly recommend
- George L (10/5): - so convenient to walking street
- James (10/5): - Great price very good standard everything accessible within minutes, room was very clean good size bathroom wet room. Only tiny issue is if you hire motorcycles very small area to park especially if several guests have hired motorcycles.
Ps lovely little ice cream smoothie shop on the ground floor 😋
- Grant (8/5): - A wonderfully quaint small boutique hotel in a good spot in old town. The staff are nice and very accommodating. The room was comfortable and well appointed. I would stay again
- Mae (10/5): Great hotel - Lovely hotel, great location and fab staff. We extended our stay twice because the hotel was so lovely!
- Mae (10/5): - Fantastic hotel in a great location with lovely staff. We extended our stay twice because it was so great.
- Mae (10/5): Perfect hotel in Chiang Mai - Had such a lovely stay at this family run boutique hotel. They stayed up well past midnight to check us in when our bus was delayed and the service overall was fantastic.
We had a minor issue with our shower and they fixed straight away and even offered us to change rooms (which wasn’t necessary but very kind of them to offer).
The room was cleaned incredibly well every day with lovely fresh towels and fresh bedding and water.
The bed is typical south-east Asian so quite hard compared to western standards but not an issue at all as we are used to it by now.
The hotel was in a perfect location - very quiet and I felt very safe walking around at night. Around a 5 minute walk to the ‘main’ area of Chiang Mai and connects to the big Sunday Night Market in a few steps. 7/11 close by as well which is always useful.
Such a fantastic hotel, great location and lovely staff.
- Q8721BRbethw (10/5): Great stay - Breakfast was awesome! We loved sitting in the covered area and having a quiet morning or sitting our front and seeing the morning start. The location was perfect as we easily walked everywhere in Old Town for restaurants, temples, spa's and shopping. It was fun meeting people who came to get ice cream and the staff were helpful. The rooms are basic, the beds were comfortable and it was quiet. It was well worth the price.
- Aloka (10/5): - Great location, close to good food. Would definitely stay again
- Zishan (10/5): - Excellent small family run hotel in a great location! Staff is very friendly and helpful. Few downsides are spotty wifi, water temperature, and no elevator.
- Michael (10/5): - A perfect location for walking about and taking in the sights of temples, shops and dinning! Amazing host who really took care of us, even brought me homemade ice cream for my birthday!
- Dominique (10/5): - This is a perfect hidden gem! The hotel is absolutely amazing, clean, modern, staff go the extra mile to please us, gave us fresh juices when we walked in. This is the best place and a walking distance to everything in Chiang Mai. This is a must before considering any other places to stay on your next visit to Chiang Mai.

- Bernardo (10/5): - Nice small hotel ina great location.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Unique room in Old City - Excellent location, nice room, good price, and great service!
- Joy (10/5): Great Boutique Hotel - It was a great place to stay, location is convenient, staff are friendly and very clean.
- Henry (10/5): - Everything was amazing about this property. It's operated by a family and everyone we met was kind and helpful. They went above and beyond in making our stay in Chiang Mai enjoyable. There is no breakfast but they do provide enough food in the morning to get you going. They helped us contact a tour group to get to Chiang Rai. They helped us laundry our clothes. The location is awwsome, we were able to walk to the night market. Tuk tuks were easily accessible and they have the best sticky rice mango ice cream downstairs. It was like staying with relatives. Would definitely stay again.
- Ash_patelusa (10/5): Convenient location and five star service - We selected this hotel in Chiang Mai because of great reviews, and I must say that we were not disappointed.
Of course, a convenient location is always improvement to us when we select a hotel, and the most attractions in the city are in the walking distance from the hotel including the Night Bazar. There are plenty of good restaurants nearby.
It's a nice small family run boutique hotel where the owner and the family members pays attention to the guest like their own family members. They are always eager to please their guest. They catered to every request we made, and were very patient and helpful in answering all our queries.
We received an email from hotel that the hotel didn't offer full breakfast, but only Thai snack and coffee in the breakfast. However, what the hotel offered in breakfast was adequate as it included toast, pastry, fresh fruit, some Thai snack and tea as well as coffee in a nice little cozy backyard.
Finally, the room was clean and cozy, and well furnished with a very good shower. Unlike most hotels in Indochina region, the hotel didn't ration drinking water to two bottles per day, and that was a big plus for us. Lovely hotel owned by caring people who eagerly provide five star service.
- Ashvin (10/5): Home away from home!! -

- Maddie (10/5): - Great location, great customer service, and great overall experience! We loved Namamema.
- ThomasZ (10/5): - It is a family-run business, and the guest service is excellent! The decor is also charming. It has a very central location.
- Maricarmen (10/5): - Room was very nice and clean. Staff were very helpful and pleasant and very good location
- Verified traveler (8/5): Convenient boutique hotel - Convenient location. Easy to walk to all main attractions. Recent refurbishment in colonial style. Room large inc tv,fridge, hair drier, tea/coffee. The safe was broken.
Overall a good option cot a Chiang Mai stay..but a bit overpriced.
- Emily (10/5): - This place is as wonderful as all the great reviews. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The family that runs the place is so lovely, welcoming, and accommodating. It is a fantastic location, accessible to the Sunday night market without being in front of it (it gets very crowded!). We had a wonderful time staying here!
- Kristi (10/5): - Staff at hotel incredibly kind. Made sure I had I had snacks/breakfast foods before 5am tour. If I had a complaint, it would be the shower doesn’t get really hot, but it is tolerable. Very nice stay.
- John (10/5): - Excellent location. Just a few steps to the Sunday Night Street Market. Very friendly and helpful staff. A great place to stay im the Old Chiang Mai area.
- Aurion (10/5): Would stay there again. - For the price, I thought it was a good deal. The rooms are comfortable, the staff is great, the location is perfect.
- Aurion (10/5): I’d stay there again. - The place seemed like a great deal to me. I slept well and liked the vibe. The staff were very sweet and accommodating. The old lady (I’m assuming owner) was darling and fed me big breakfast every day even though I was usually late for it. They give you your own set of keys to the building and after 10pm you’re basically on your own to come in and go out as you please. I guess some people might want the concierge service and doormen available 24/7 but for me, coming back to the place and just letting myself in, without having to walk through a lobby full of staff, made the place feel more like a home than a hotel. I enjoyed my stay there and thought the location was fantastic. I would recommend the king sized bedrooms. I initially booked a queen and the mattress was a bit firm for my optimum comfort (though still perfectly fine) but I switched to a king size and found the mattress to be just the way I like it. Noise was no issue for me and, even though I’m sure there were other guests, I never saw or heard any of them. I did meet some other travelers in the dining area but they were there for the food. There is an ice cream dish that seemed really popular and came highly recommended.
- PhillyGuy88 (10/5): Nice, Small but with character. - This is a very small boutique hotel run by family members . Not sure if they had more than a dozen rooms on 2 of the 4 floors. The building is a renovated old building that is characteristic of old city Chiang Mai.
There is no elevator but they will help get your bags to/from your room.
We have a triple room for 3 adults. The room is very well appointed, very clean, air conditioned and in rustic Thai decor. Everyday they resupply with 3 bottles of water and a plate on fruits. There is a limited supply of coffee but we got more from the 7-eleven nearby. The daily elephant towel foldings were amusing to see each day we return to the room.
Our main reason for picking this hotel besides the price and clean amenities was the location centrally within the old city walls. This allows us to walk to all the night markets and food markets fairly easily. Chinatown and the Warorot wholesale market is within a 20 min walk.
It is right next to the Sunday Night Market, Chiang Mai’s biggest each week starting at about 5pm to 10pm.
The family also has a small ice cream store at the front of the hotel. Their ice cream was delicious.
The hotel does not have any food service. They also only provide one set of keys per room. Key is needed to enter the hotel after 10pm as it unstaffed then.
- Kira (10/5): Loved this place. - The people that run this hotel are all about taking care of their guests. They are so kind and are very helpful with any questions you may have. Their hospitality was incredible and their kindness was wonderful. I would recommend this place to anyone. The rooms were clean and very nice.
- niloo77 (8/5): Mango sea salt ice cream with sticky rice! - We stopped by for some mango seal salt ice cream with sticky rice on a hot sunny day. It's a tall glass serving with some rice wafers. The lady who made it for us,was the sweetest. She even got us water when we were done.Such loving warmth!
- meeks09 (10/5): Favorite hotel in Thailand - My friends and I stayed here for 5 days during our visit to Chiang Mai and surrounding areas. It was fantastic - the room and facility were clean, very comfortable, the traditional Thai breakfast each morning was delicious and filling and most of all, the staff were amazing! It is a small, family-run hotel in the heart of the city. Close to everything! I highly recommend this place - also get the coconut ice cream paradise that "grandpa" makes!
- Brian (10/5): Great family trip - It was a very clean hotel. Location is excellent since it is in the old city. We were traveling with two 5-yrs old. Room was very big since we had the family suite. The hotel is run by a family. We had an early flight out of Chiang Rai and the owner's father even drove us to the airport. They were extremely friendly!
- bonnieguthrie (10/5): Fantastic hotel! - We stayed for 2 nights at the Namamema hotel and it was fantastic! The room and hotel is extremely clean, the location is very central and convenient to everything, but the best part was by far the people who work here. It is run by the nicest family who made us feel so welcome. I left my headphones in the room after we left, and they were kind enough to express ship them to our next hotel in Phuket. I am so grateful that we chose to stay at this wonderful hotel. Highly highly recommend!!!
- apsmyth9 (10/5): Perfect Clean Hotel in Best Location - My girlfriend and I stayed two nights at this hotel and the service was excellent, room was spacious and clean, and the man running the show was extremely polite and helpful. We even got into our room early. The hotel was also very safe due to the doorman and key fob access during off hours. I loved our stay there and highly recommend!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Centrally located, attentive staff, clean rooms. WiFi is spotty. But overall good value for the price.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Everything was great except one small hitch. The family was always pleasant and nice. The rooms were clean and well kept. Location was easy to walk to everywhere or get s taxi. Had a tour cancelled right before we left but not sure if fault of hotel owners or tour company. Ice cream was solid treat and breakfast was always good.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The owners were very charming and spoke decent English. The family suite was very nice. Breakfast was lovely and the location is perfect!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great property in a perfect location. Just around the corner from the Sunday night market, close to plenty of restaurants, vegan, vegetarian options close by as well. In fact, the hotel has a vegan ice cream stand - delicious! Absolutely loved the staff/owners so friendly, helpful and accommodating. Rooms were quiet and comfortable, breakfast was winderful and plentiful - fresh fruits, juices, baked goods (all fresh made) along with full traditional Thai breakfast. Highly recommend!
- Hiu Ying (10/5): Recommendable hotel in old town - The hotel is located at a perfect location in the old town. We rarely need to take tuk tuk or songthaew. The family that runs the hotel is very friendly. We felt like home there.
- Kimberly (10/5): - The owners of the family runned boutique hotel are very friendly and hospitable. Great location within the old city, a good spread of daily breakfast. The downsides are no elevator, patchy wifi coverage, and a very firm mattress.
- kathrynlP9922KL (10/5): lovely boutique hotel - very clean, safe, comfortable family owned small hotel. pretty rooms, comfortable bed, great wifi and ammenities, great location. wonderful breakfast custom made for each of either Thai or Western menu, we especially enjoyed chatting in English with the very polite and intersting owner, an older gentleman who takes great care of his hotel. Staying here is a very good value if you don’t need a swimming pool.
- 542sherril (10/5): Wonderful family run boutique hotel - My family of 4 stayed in the family duplex which had one bedroom in a loft space above the main room. It was plenty of space for us but a little more drawer space would have been nice. The family owners are super helpful and "grandpa" went above and beyond trying to help us with some of our tours. The breakfast is limited but it's different Thai food every morning and gave us a good opportunity to try different Thai sweets. Easy walk to some good restaurants and there're 3 massage places within 200ft of the hotel! Felt very welcomed here.
- Matthew (8/5): Nice little hotel - Nice little hotel, friendly staff. Breakfast was just ok. Poor WiFi in the upper rooms. Location very convenient to all of the area sites within the old city.
- Jeff (10/5): Great Stay at Na Ma Me Ma - The staff was very nice. They were so helpful.
- seantg11 (8/5): Great Location - The staff was very friendly, it seemed family owned which I appreciated. The rooms are somewhat small and but they are clean. The WiFi is not very good on the third floor but that wasn’t a big deal to us. Overall a great price for a fantastic location in the heart of the Old City.
- Robert Leber (10/5): - The hotel was lovely, and the proprietor was delightful.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Location is very good. Stuff is also very kind. They prepares Thailand Breakfast everyday. Entrance door key needs to bring anytime because entrance is closed by late time. We can recommend this hotel.
- Mary (10/5): Fantastic location in Old Town; good family rooms - Perfect location and we loved the family room with a loft. The only negative we experienced for our 2-night stay was having to change rooms after the first night. They moved us to a better room that had not been available on the first night but it was a hassle to pack everything up with kids and still be out of the door in time for a morning tour. The breakfast in the morning is different each morning. Its good. Be aware there is not an elevator. This was not a problem for us but could be for some people. We would stay here again just for the convenient location to walk everywhere in Old Town. The price was a good deal for the family room during Christmas season and in this location.
- Great (10/5): - The owners were very attentive to our needs and were very helpful...each day we were served an authentic thai breakfast which really put the icing on the cake for us.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I normally like to stay in a luxury 5 star hotel but decided to book a 3 nights stay here because we weren’t going to be on our room much with an entire day trip planned to Chiang Rai and also a day at Patara Elephant Sanctuary, Tiger Kingdom and visiting the Karen Long Neck Tribe. Upon arrival, a sweet and kind elderly man which is the owner’s father checked us in. It’s a small boutique hotel in such a great location, within walking distance to shops and restaurants in a very safe area. They served breakfast every morning and even have a mango sticky rice stand in the front. Everything was in working order, clean room, warm water, good breakfast in the courtyard to start our day, very sweet famiky. I felt just at home, very comforting, we loved our stay here.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great place! Always filled with happiness! We would recommend the hotel to everyone and would love to stay there again, location is perfect, rooms are perfect, breakfast is nice :)
- mikemVermont (10/5): great location friendly family - The location is perfect for easy walking to some of the best temples. Right next to the sunday night street market which goes on for miles every Sunday between 16:00 and 23:00. Breakfasts were excellent with mostly local Thai dishes. We had to leave very early one morning for a bus trip and were not expecting breakfast. The owner saw us heading out and prepared a quick meal for us before normal breakfast service. Stay here if you can!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The owners and staff were so very kind and friendly. Amazing Thai breakfast that was superb.
