- empress_cherry (6/5): Ok but could be better - It's a cheap hotel so one can't expect too much, but it wasn't much cheaper than other hotels I stayed in in Vietnam which were much better! The pros - the lady who seems to be in charge is lovely, the location is convenient, and my room had a great view (I forked out for the suite). The cons - my room was in a rather poor condition, it was not cleaned properly on one night of my stay and not cleaned at all on the other, and the wifi kept cutting out

La chambre n’était pas chauffée et cela a pris du temps pour atteindre une température satisfaisante. La salle à manger n’était pas chauffée non plus pour le petit déjeuner. Pas beaucoup de choix pour le petit déjeuner. Le 2ème jour, nous avons déjeuné ailleurs.
- Noya (9/5): Worth the price and overall a really nice hotel. - The hotel was really nice. The staff were welcoming and warm and their English was pretty good. The shower was really nice. The water pressure was good and there was warm water for a long shower. The room was really clean and comfortable. We checked in at 12 AM and the staff waited for us until we came to welcome us and give us the keys to the room which was really nice. The room cleaning includes only towel change and empty the trash cans and that’s it. No change of sheets or more paper towels and the room is pretty dark, the lamps are small so there is not much light at night.

- Lauriane (7/5): - The owner is very friendly and helpful. We arrived earlier then expected and she gave us direct access to the room. We had a wide room with a great view on the mountains. The room was noisy and dusty. We saw a cockroach on the top of the bed. After our chek-in the owner left town and we didn’t get a room service (fresh towels, tea, cleanning etc.). We did the check out with children and the owner on WhatsApp.

- Molly (10/5): Exceptional - Sapa Dragon is a family run place in a great part of town. The family is incredibly nice and very accommodating. We stayed here for a night & ended up rebooking with them again when we passed through a second time. We couldn't have asked for better.
- 22000FT (8/5): Nice option in SaPa - Saps Dragon is off a relatively quiet street but still close to town center. Rooms are spacious but basic. We picked the room facing garden view so it was very quiet. WiFi was good. Breakfast was adequate. This is a family run hotel and the staff very helpful, warm and accommodating.

As a Canadian traveller this was our best stay thus far in Vietnam!!!!! BTW… Close to everything and highly recommended. Also eat at Huong Rung at the foot of the street!!! It’s awesome…

Owner is very friendly and goes out of her way to assist - she walked down the hill to meet us at our taxi and helped carry our bags up on arrival. Rooms are clean and beautifully decorated with hmong linens. Owner can help book guides for hikes and trekking to minority villages with local hmong female guides. Very reasonable prices for a quiet, clean hotel not overloaded with tour buses of tourists. Breakfast is included and cooked fresh for you each morning.

- Victoria (6/5): Good value for money - This hotel is good value for money. It is very clean. However for us it was difficult to sleep because of noisy pipework, other guests talking at 5am and then drums and pipes playing outside from 6am!! Bad timing for us I think and the team did try and help with the expected outdoor noise by giving us a room at the back of the building but it made no difference. Exhausted we eventually slept but then missed breakfast so can’t comment on that. The room was very clean - it had a chemical cleaning smell when we arrived but it did seem to calm down.

- 291stuartm (10/5): Kind and courteous hospitality at a bargain price. - I had an enjoyable 2 day stay at this small but well appointed hotel. The manager was exceptionally helpful especially in booking trips and advising about places to visit. The most distinguishing feature of the hotel was being such good value for money and a good location with a high standard of rooms. I would have preferred a choice of breakfast but it was low season and it was decent and freshly cooked.

It is in a house rather than a big tower , so be aware there is no lift (stairs up to 3rd floor) but Sapa Dragon is an excellent base to explore Sapa!

- Rhiannon (10/5): - Ms Kieu Anh is a welcoming host. On arrival, you immediately feel as though you are part of an extended family. The rooms are welcoming, neat, and tidy. The beds are super comfortable, and the pillows are amazing. As a result of being so comfortable, we missed breakfast each morning as we overslept 😴 😅. The food did smell amazing. The view from the balcony is not one to be missed. Ms. Kieu Anh has a wealth of local knowledge. She helped us arrange a bike to get around. Nothing is an issue for her, and she is more than willing to help. What I loved about this place is the feeling of being at home when you are not, a quick walk to the main area of of town and yet quiet enough of a night to enjoy a peaceful night sleep. The shower is damn good, too! I have no hesitation in recommending this comfortable accommodation and know that if I ever return to Sapa without a doubt, I will be coming back to Sapa Dragon Hotel 🌟🌟.

- mercyhn (10/5): Amazing owner, amazing stay - We had a great stay at the Dragon Hotel. I booked my trip originally through a third party company and needed to change the dates of the trip. The third party company said it’s non-refundable and wouldn’t let me change the dates so I simply extended the trip. Turned out the hotel owner, Kieu Anh tried to reach out to me to accommodate but I didn’t know. She was so kind even before we arrived at the hotel. While we were there, we hiked up Mt. Fansipan and had to leave at 5am on the day of. She woke up early at 5am to make us pho for breakfast before we left. I was so appreciative. On the first night we arrived, I mentioned that I love steamed rice roll so she made it for us for breakfast the last day we were there. She was simply amazing. I was so touched. The room was very nice and spacious with a cute balcony. The location was extremely convenient. While we were there, Kieu Anh also helped us exchange money (she gave us a good rate) and they also have laundry service which was so convenient. If you want a hotel stay with a homestay feel, you must visit the Dragon Hotel.

- Joseph (10/5): - I had a bog room with a balcony. Breakfast gave me two nice options. The staff was nice and helpful and went out of their way whenever i had a question or needed help. Its a ten minute walk from the center of town and the train and cable car ride to Fansipan Mountain. And walkable to Cat cat village... if you're in decent shape. Had a great time and would recommend to any traveler. Its close enough to get most anywhere but away enough for peace and quiet in the evening.

The owner was so gracious and she opened the front for us. Later in the morning she made my friend and i breakfast. Her little 5yr old daughter was also showing us to our table, so funny. You can tell that this is family owned and operated. 10/10 would highly recommend. Maded you feel like home

- travlndo (10/5): Become a member of the family - We were welcomed by Kieu Anh Chu, as if we were family. Even at the low rate we had booked, she and her family took care of all our needs and questions during our stay. As an older traveling couple, we had concerns about the lack of an elevator inside this facility; however, we were offered a choice of rooms even during a very busy weekend. We took a lower floor but she and her daughters took our bags from us and moved them rapidly up to the 2nd floor of rooms. She even told us they would move us to a front room, which gave us a balcony overlooking the city and the valley, for the last half of our stay once the weekenders had checked out. They even moved our bags across the floor to the other room while we were out visiting the town. She was very helpful and informative in answering our many questions and booking tours on how to best experience Sapa, Fan Si Phan, and Cat Cat Village. We would stay here again should we return. As we left, we even exchanged information and became Friends on Facebook.
- 463lenar (8/5): Fabulous - A great stay in this hotel. The staff friendly and professional. The room was large and spotless wifi was fast and they had a laptop in the room for you. We also had dinner in the restaurant . the duck and spring rolls were made fresh and we're delicious . I would definitely stay in this hotel again. Breakfast was sufficient though the brewed coffee was the only thing that let this establishment down.

Breakfast area was dark and dingy and no breakfast was to be seen, when we questioned this they eventually provided us with 2 fried to death eggs on a slice of plain bread. Absolutely horrible . Almost everything. Felt like we were in an abandoned building. No staff or anyone around.
- Cecilia (10/5): - Absolutely lovely family-run hotel right in center of SaPa but in a quiet street with small businesses. Incredibly kind staff helped us when we got in exhausted late at night. Every morning the staff walked over to a next-door spot to pick up large and delicious bowls of beef pho for breakfast. Within a 2 minute walk from all attractions and restaurants. Really ideal location. Note: balcony great but with almost constant fog it was less important than one might think!

Close to shopping and dining but quiet. Minor inconveniences were; safe and refrigerator did not work in our room. Hair dryer did not have a heat setting and hot water was not always available in the shower. These may be a deal breaker for some but we enjoyed our stay.

Unfortunately the room did smell a lot during our stay, especially the bathroom. We also found a cockroach in the room.

Kieu Anh and Hung are kind and gracious hosts who put a lot of love into their beautiful hotel and offer genuine hospitality to each one of their guests. They welcomed us into their family, and even surprised our younger daughter with a birthday cake! The hotel is tucked into a quiet area of Sapa—away from a lot of the lights and noise, but still very walkable to the lake and the center square. Great value for the money, and we absolutely loved that it was a family-run business!

- Mathilde (3/5): Cockroach in the hotel - We didn’t enjoy our stay at this hotel. The location is fine, you can visit sapa and there are some nice restaurants nearby. We don’t recommend this hotel because the rooms were not clean at all. We had a first room where we found some cockroaches, we had some difficulties to explain this to the reception because they don’t speak English at all… we managed to have another room, which was again with some cockroach in the bedroom and the bathroom. We changed for a 3rd room which was a bit cleaner. On top of this the wifi doesn’t work, there was no hot water for shower, and some customers were noisy in the hotel. Quite surprised to see super positive comments from previous years, as it wasn’t our impression during our stay there.

- WendyYoungSunnyCoast (10/5): The Friendly Dragon - Set near the base of a steep side street just a short walk from the centre of town, Sapa Dragon is in a fabulous location. Close to shops, cafes, restaurants, markets, Tour operators and within walking distance of Cat Cat Village and Ham Rong Mountain. It is a 4 minute stroll to catch a train to the Cable Car that takes you to the top of Fanispan, the highest mountain in Vietnam, or a 40 min steep walk if you wanted to stretch your legs. Our 2nd floor room was spacious, decorated beautifully, had a wooden bathtub and views from the balcony over the rooftops to Ham Rong Mountain. There was only stairs no lift, this did not bother us but may be a concern if you had mobility issues. The Hotel was clean, quiet and the owner was very gracious and eager to cater for any of our needs. Although she had little English she utilised Google translate to make sure she understood our requests. When we arrived we were asked what we would like for our Breakfast and this was presented as requested each morning in the dining room. Not as cheap as some Hotels in Sapa but good value considering location, size of room, cleanliness and friendliness. I can highly recommend this Hotel.

Best thing about the hotel, though, was the manager who couldn't do enough for us, including having Fansipan tickets delivered to the hotel and arranging a fantastic memorable trek through the rice field villages. The manager of the hotel couldn't do enough for us, arranging for tickets to Fansipan to be brought to the hotel for us, and an excellent one day trek around the rice terraces. The hotel location is perfect, very close to center of Sapa. and its has a beautiful garden nearby. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful especially Mr. Anh who is professional on his job and was very helpful to promptly accommodate our requests. We got a room with a beautiful view to Rosemary stone church and Ham Rong mountain. In short, we were very happy with our stay in this hotel.

- Supermacanne (10/5): Brilliant hotel in quiet part of Sapa - This hotel is so great to stay in. We arrived early on the overnight train from Hanoi but we were allowed to book in on arrival early morning. Our room was lovely and comfortable with a cute balcony to watch the world go by. The facilities were excellent in the room and the bed was extremely comfortable, we had a brilliant shower and our room was cleaned every day. The breakfast had a good choice. All the staff were very helpful and friendly and always had a smile. We had a very happy stay here and would highly recommend to anyone visiting Sapa.

- 172robing (10/5): Stay in this hotel if your staying in Sapa! - We arrived to this hotel at approximately 8:30am after an overnight train. We were absolutely broken due to lack of sleep, had booked the hotel for the wrong night and had booked the wrong amount of rooms, The manager sorted everything out at around 8:40am and had given us complimentary upgrades. He let us check into our rooms straight away, as apposed to the standard 2pm check in time, It really is the little things that make our break your stays while travelling..... The room, very spacious with extremely comfortable beds. They had so many good European TV channels that I had to drag myself out of bed to do sightseeing. And on to the sightseeing, we wanted to do hiking and wanted to see some must see sights. The hotel arranged this straight away and at a competitive price. We also wanted to arrange a direct bus transfer back to Hanoi, again the MD sorted this out last minute, One of the best hotels that I've stayed in and would put a lot of Western Hotels to shame.
- CarolB831 (10/5): Attentive staff - This is a really comfortable hotel and rooms have good facilities. The staff are a little over attentive at times but very nice and helpful. The breakfast is not that great but there is plenty of variety, it seems odd that although the hotel had only western guests they put out vast quantities of Vietnamese food for breakfast. I think this should be rethought. The hotel is in a good position with good restaurants only minutes away. We had 2 half day treks organised through the hotel with Ly, a local guide. She was so good to walk with and here her stories about local life and how things were made, such as the indigo dyeing. Some people trekking were very dismissive of having a guide. Yes you can do it on your own but she really enhanced our treks. We were very relaxed in the hotel, they looked after is well

The hotel/rooms are clean, decent hot water, it's a close walk to everything and the staff are fantastic. There was nothing to staff couldn't do to make our stay better. - Rishidasgupta (8/5): Few days in Sapa - On the outside the hotel looks ordinary trying to keep up. However when I checked in I was very impressed The rooms are average size but the balcony makes up with the view and the sun shining on you every morning The room is thoughtfully decorated - all the wooden surface area are covered with local traditional apolstry. The bath room gives a rustic feeling with modern amenities. Room comes with a laptop , well we never used it but it was there to our disposal : wifi speed is decent for video calls and picture upload. The dining menu is basic however in mountains basic is lavish. Please try the potato soup and ginger tea - the best I have ever had. Walk for 3minutes and you reach the town center and the Sapa station Definitely will recommend

The breakfast was very good but the same every morning. Their fruit selection does change which was great.
