• 603jackyc (10/5): Great Hospitality - We have just called into this hotel for a light lunch whilst visiting Loch Lomond & the quality of the food & the service was exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble & all the staff we met were very polite & friendly. Refurbishments are currently ongoing but it didn't deter our enjoyment.
• samN9397AX (4/5): Sadly disappointing. - Stayed here for two nights, parking was fine (small car park on the side of the hotel and larger one in the back). Beautiful scenery. However, when we entered the main entrance, a staff member checked us in, the ground floor looked nice. The guest lift was very outdated with carpet-lined walls, black marks were seen on the inner doors, and one out-of-order button. The lift can fit about 2 people in comfortably, and took its time getting to the second floor. The hotel is aged, and could do with some modernising and a lick of paint. We found out the room which had been used for laundry, multiple do not disturb signs thrown about, and a bin bag left outside the door. Entering the room, we found two fresh towels on the bed, a welcome note, one chocolate tea cake and one caramel bar. Although there was only one teaspoon! A small selection fo tea and coffee by the Ketel with some UHT milk pods. The TV was of good size. However, on closer look around the room, there were multiple marks on the walls, obvious stains on the carpet, dirt around the bathroom, a broken bathroom bin, a detached path plug, the light switch for the bathroom was upside down and the bathroom had no extractor fan, which gave the bathroom a horrid fishy smell. During the night as it was warm as the staff had put the heating on (very nice of them). We had to open the window as it go too hot (not mad about that) but the room oposit which was vacant, had its light on all night, which kept us awake. In the afternoon of the second day, I went down to the bar area and asked for an Iron Bru and a pint of orange just and was charged £7.30!. The bar staff couldn't find the orange juice on the still so they charged me £4.00 for a pint, which wasn't even fresh or a high-quality brand. Breakfast was a small buffet style (typical hotel style), a little cold but it filled me up. There was a nice selection of cereal and some pastries, cheese and ham. However, they had a domestic toaster which only one side worked and took its time. The staff who served the coffee overfilled one cup and only filled 1/4 of the other with lukewarm coffee and didn't come back. One of the bar staff had long fake nails on which didn't look the cleanest, which just didn't sit well with me. (very nice lady but still). We went down for dinner one night and were seated very quickly, with a nice lochside view. The food was lovely, a little pricey but still nice. (I do recommend the stake and ale pie with mash and veg or the pizza). All in all, im sadly disappointed at the Tarbet hotel, for a total of £ 279.84, I expected a lot more. If, I come back, I hope they can do better! P.S. Check out is from 7.30 am. If you want to check out earlier, or have any issues and need staff. There is a mobile number on the reception desk to ring the staff to come help.
• alisonbA1053NZ (2/5): Not great - Hotel looking lovely with the renovation work , but not a great experience, we had lunch along with our 2 dogs , we ordered our choices , but item missing from our order when it arrived , that’s with waiting quite a long time considering it was soup and a toastie🤔fries didn’t arrive at all . We enquired regarding an overnight stay out of curiosity but due to having a large dog and a small dog this is not allowed , only 2 “small dogs” allowed , which I feel is discrimination . So won’t be returning and will continue to support the other local hotels instead
• lucymiller1707 (6/5): Restaurant review. - Called in here for a quick bite to eat as my bus was delayed. I ordered two starters - the queenie scallops and the chilli chicken tempura. Although the chicken was slightly greasy for my liking the sauce was lovely and was a nice starter. However the scallops which were supposed to be with garlic and herb butter and sourdough were terrible. The garlic and herb butter was pretty much a boat load of oil and the scallops did not taste fresh whatsoever. After only eating two of the scallops and telling the waiter when he cleared my plates - I was not offered a refund on this which I found quite disappointing, but he did say he would let the chef know. After my starters I sat by the window and had a beautiful latte and enjoyed the Scottish rain. Nice enough restaurant, extremely lovely and welcoming staff, but probably would not dine here in the future.
• I4260ZTpaulc (8/5): Tarbet Hotel - We stayed at the Tarbet Hotel for two nights and overall had a pleasant experience, though there were a few issues worth noting. We arrived about an hour early and were pleased our room was ready. Our initial room (230) was quite small and overlooked the rear car park. After checking online prices, I asked at reception about upgrading. The staff were very helpful and, as the hotel had only just reopened, they kindly upgraded us to a superior room (204) at no extra cost. This was a great gesture and much appreciated. The superior room was a big improvement — spacious, comfortable, and with partial views of Loch Lomond. It included a desk, seating area, and a very comfortable bed. The main issue was with the heating. The bathroom towel radiator did not work at all during our stay. This was reported but unfortunately not resolved, although a portable heater was provided. We also noticed some inconsistencies in the bar/restaurant. Lunch was charged at dinner prices on one occasion, and a service charge was added to our bill which was fine but added again on the second night despite minimal service. We didn’t raise this at the time given the complimentary upgrade, but it’s something the hotel should address. All staff we encountered were friendly and helpful throughout. Overall, a good stay and the upgrade made a big difference
• Tallguy_11 (10/5): Old hotel with great rooms - Majestic hotel dating back but well maintained. Room is very big, clean, with good views over Loch Lomond. Bathroom is standard UK size but shower is good size and modern. Restaurant offering was a bit limited but hotel was shutting for the season in a couple of days. Disregard the negative reviews, this is a really nice hotel that is good value for money. Oh, staff are all nice but also winding down for end of season,
• Connector11108907031 (6/5): Wonderful location, but not thrilled with our room or the breakfast - The hotel could not have been in a more perfect location. It is gorgeous from the outside and has a lovely reception area and bar. Very nice staff as well. The only problem with such a beautiful exterior is it also leads you to expect a beautiful room, and ours was as basic and drab as they come. So that was disappointing, as was the breakfast, which was mostly gone by the time we arrived (first time at about 9:30, and second time at 8am - it is supposed to be open until 10) and it was mostly cold as well. No one there for at least 15 minutes to seat us and offer coffee. It's clear they are understaffed.
• davidmA9402PO (6/5): Shocking breakfast - I mistakenly didn’t add breakfast to my booking, was queried when I was waiting to be seated. Waiter came over and told me I had to pay, I replied I will do it when I check out to which his response was to bring the card machine. It was almost as if they thought I was going to do a runner without paying. So I paid my £14 and wished I hadn’t. It was extremely disappointing here’s what I found. No bacon, no normal sausage. Square sausage, haggis and black pudding looked like they’d been sitting there for hours and were rock hard,as was the tattie scone. Scrambled eggs rubbery and overcooked, no other eggs on offer. No melon/fruit left. The previous evening for Dinner I had the expensive beef burger which was pretty tasteless and was served with a dozen chips in a small bowl. Overall experience is the hotel is its in a lovely location, rooms are outdated but clean and staff are welcoming. Hotel owners really need to take a good look at the food on offer especially the breakfast. Food let the place down big time.
• Hannah (10/5): Elegance, comfort and scenery - Following its recent refurbishment, The Tarbet Hotel blends historic elegance with modern comfort in a stunning location, great for hillwalkers and couples. My only critique is that the dinner service was a bit slow and the menu felt like poor value for money, but we enjoyed the fish pie and chicken schnitzel. Breakfast was exceptional!

• SussexApollo (8/5): A very spacious hotel with lots of history and period décor in places - A very spacious hotel with lots of history and period décor in places. Rooms are a little dated but acceptable. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. The bar area is very comfortable and well stocked. Our room on the upper floor overlooked Loch Lomond which is a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Also within easy walking distance is a 1 hour boat cruise on Loch Lomond. The hotel offers free car parking.

• marilynsS8766MT (8/5): Enjoyable break in a stunning location - Spent a super 3 days at this castle type hotel. Lovely spacious room, comfy beds, and good shower room. Food was good especially the breakfasts. Dinner menu, although good, was a bit limited, and we were disappointed that only spicy soups were offered, and that there was no fish and chips on 2 successive nights. However the Star of the restaurant was "Marcus" who went out of his way to provide all our special requests, always with a smile as if it was easy and he enjoyed being helpful. The location of this hotel is stunning being so close to the mountains, Loch Lomond, ferry trips, and also at the junction of roads leading to other scenic places. Definitely a place to visit to see wonderful scenery.

• brianwF8791FH (2/5): Eating at Tarbet hotel loch lomund - We called in at lunchtime to have a look at the hotel, with a view to eating about 6 pm. The hotel looked very nice and we were looking forward to a nice meal. I had the fish pie, which was good, but very small. The pie was hot but the veg , what veg there was, a bit of cabbage was cold. Not the best …My wife ordered the Fish n Chips with peas. The peas were cold and the fish was very overdone and small with a few chips,,,it was that bad she couldn’t eat it….all in all it was a very poor experience, although the barmaid was very nice .
• Alison (10/5): - The Tarbet hotel was our favorite stay of our 9 day trip to Scotland. The historic building on the shores of loch Lomond was peaceful and serene. The staff was great and even upgraded our room for free which was a real treat. The restaurant and drinks were good as well. The real show stopper is the view of the loch and the location.
• Mrs A (8/5): Good stay, great views - We only stayed one night at the Tarbet hotel, it was a stopover for the journey from Skye. We found it perfect to be honest, its in a great setting opposite the loch, you can get the ferries across if you want to. The room was a bit tired but it was quiet and clean. The bar area was really nice and the breakfast good. We found the staff lovely and helpful, would definitely recommend.
• Miran (10/5): - The location is next to the road and has a beautiful park. It might have some traffic noise but it doesn't bother me. I stayed 218 with a lake view. The bed was not too comfy but ok. It was an old castle. Seems outdated (not new) but clean. Also, I'm not picky. They make the most amazing breakfast during my two-week trip to Scotland and England. It was affordable too. Thanks to one of the staff members bringing me coffee at 5:00am when I sat in the lobby by myself. That was really nice and my trip was made better by someone kind.

Ignore the bad reviews our room was great. - I have wanted to stay here for years, having passed it as a child and teenager some 45 years ago when we camped at Loch Lomond, as we could not afford a hotel. My dad used to say, if you have to ask how much then we cannot afford it. I have read reviews that paint a less adequate picture of the hotel. Having waited all these years I am not disappointed, our stay was great. Our room was nice, the furniture was new, there was a large TV and we had views of the loch from not one but two windows. It turned out not to be expensive either, the room with breakfast cost less than the room only I reviewed a few nights ago and gave 2 stars. Dinner was nice and cost less than the sandwich, cake and coffee we had a lunch in Arrochar today. The staff are friendly and did not mind we had a dog. Parking was ample, I managed to get my VW T6 right outside our room at the front. If I had one suggestion, it would be from my dog which looked at me disappointed every time she passed the empty water bowl in reception. Would definitely recommend.
• caroline3262 (8/5): Beautiful hotel on Loch Lomond - A beautiful looking hotel. My parents had their honeymoon here so I had time off so I thought I'd recreate history. There is plenty of parking with a few disabled spaces. There staff were extremely friendly. My room was huge, clean and was perfect for my stay. There is a hairdryer in the room. A kettle and tea and coffee. It would have been goid if the milk had be replenished daily. On my 3rd day I had no milk to make a cup of tea. There were roadworks at night going on but I couldn't hear them. The bathroom was a bit small, but it wasn't the end of the world. I had breakfast for 2 days. It's buffet style. There is a great choice of cereals, yoghurt, cold meats and cheese. Hot food was sausages, bacon, black pudding, haggis, tomatoes, potato cakes, mushrooms, scrambled eggs. The only disappointment was that on the hotel website it said that you could have eggs as you prefer. In reality you can't. Very disappointing. The hotel is dog friendly. Loch Lomond is just across the road where there is a boat trip. I would definitely stay again.

• 883edwards (2/5): Very poor experience requires massive over haul - Problem after problem, such potential but it was so bad we left at 1am. 1026119012 We used this hotel as a stopping point on the way home on a wonderful holiday on the Isle of Rona. Our hotel on the way to Rona was fantastic but we had pre booked a different hotel on the way home as a way to see more and experience more, oh what a mistake we made! Upon arrival everything looked fantastic, beautiful setting that you would struggle to paint anything nicer, upon checking in we were given our keys for our dog friendly room and we went up to find that since cleaning the window had been left open (presumably in order to air out the previous dog, which I kind of understand) this had made the room FREEZING cold, and I don’t say that lightly, we had just spent a week on a remote island after all. We tried to shut the window and it didn’t close properly with screwing missing or half tight on the fittings meaning you could not only be blown over by the breeze but you could also hear all the cars passing by the hotel. Not happy we went downstairs and spoke to the receptionist who kindly allocated us another room, which we entered and found the same thing, all windows WIDE open, room freezing cold. I shut the windows (able too this time) and hoped the room would heat up whilst we went downstairs for dinner, only to find the heating wasn’t switched on! (It’s April, in Scotland bear in mind!) So we went downstairs for dinner and spoke to the receptionist again so informed us the heating was on a timer and would come on in an hour or so and would be warm once we’d had dinner, dubiously I sat down and had dinner. Half way through I felt the radiators in the of pub come on, so was hopeful! After a few hours we retired to our bedroom to find that yes the radiators had been on, but 3/4 of the radiator was freezing cold with only a small slither being warm. I can’t believe they needed bleeding that badly! Again, a visit to the receptionist and she came upstairs and physically bled them herself! Hey presto, the radiator went roasting hot immediately, the receptionist left and guess what, the heating switched off literally a minute or two later. In the hope it may come on again soon or Atleast during the night I laid in my wife’s side of the bed until it warmed slightly whilst she showered in an attempt to be comfortable but with the room so cold and neither of us settled or comfortable, I laid wide awake until around 1am and made the decision that sleep was never going to happen in such an uncomfortable and cold room so we packed and left. Oh I also forgot to mention, the rooms have a towel rail switch in it that has a blue backlight that is on CONSTANTLY throughout the night, we ended up covering it with around 10 plasters from our first aid kit, I’ve added a photo.. what a ludicrous design. All in all the hotel is dated and needs some real work and investment in my opinion but some cleaning and management routines/schedules could really help in the long run!

• Alina (6/5): Great locating, below average facilities - The hotel has an amazing location and the building looks stunning. Sadly, it’s quite run down. Rooms look alright, if you don’t look too closely, but in desperate need of an upgrade. Service in the restaurant was really disappointing.
• KayThornton (6/5): Unnecessarily difficult. - Went into the Hotel for food on a journey North to South, had to wait an uncomfortable while to be seated whilst staff were making coffee beside us and others we’re eating to the other side of us, staff seated us and then promptly left again, would of been better to take a drink order before he disappeared. He came back to take our order, husband asked for a latte, waiter wrote lager, had to correct him, I asked for a pint of lemonade and our food order, he came back and told me they don’t do a pint of lemonade only regular, so I said I would have 2 regular then, when a different waiter brought the drinks he said “you must be the only person to ever ask for pink lemonade” told him I hadn’t, I asked for a pint, he tried to take my drinks away but it really wasn’t worth the wait again just to tip them into a pint glass. Now I know we were in Scotland so our accents are different to the locals, (mine Nottingham, Husband Newcastle) but considering the hotel is going to be full of Uk tourists and international tourists too I wouldn’t of thought our accents are that hard to understand that our simple order could be that confusing. The food we ordered was great and the hotel is lovely, unfortunately the little time we were there was a lot harder than it needed to be.

• bead883 (2/5): Worst hotel ever! - The dirtiest hotel I've ever stayed in. It's a disgrace. The room was filthy. The first thing we saw was a dirty mug, which had already been used. The complimentary chocolate bar had already been partially eaten. The shower and the entire bathroom were covered in hair and pubic hair. The towels were damp and covered in yellow stains. There was a thick layer of dust everywhere. The carpet was covered in dirty stains. The duvets were terribly dirty. There were stains all over the walls. It was cold in the room, but the heating didn't work. The towel drying rack didn't work. There was a bright blue light that illuminated the entire room in the dark. I don't know what it was for. The linen room in the hallway was open; it was terribly dirty. The "clean" sheets were on the floor, as were the towels. The carpets in the hallway were extremely dirty. There were all sorts of dirty things on the floor, such as false nails, pills, chewing gum, etc. The breakfast was poor. The cutlery, cups, and plates were dirty. The staff was friendly, though. I feel sorry for them. They're making the best of it. It's a real shame the hotel is run this way. It has a lot of potential to be a beautiful place.

• rocketpete916 (8/5): Conveniently located on the shores of Loch Lomond. - Very helpful staff from check in to bar to the dining room. Declan and his mate from London (don’t catch his name) especially. This is a nice big hotel with lovely views of Loch Lomond and conveniently located for local walks and boat trips. The food was well prepared and presented. Small beds and small room but at £160 for one night it was quite adequate.

• michaelbM8254BH (8/5): Fantastic staff, very comfortable and clean room. - Giving 4 stars as we had an enjoyable stay. Just a couple of issues that are easily resolved. My mum is disabled and we were put in a room that was far away from the lift and down some steps. Also had a dog so somewhere a little nearer the exit would have been better to let her out, ideally 1st floor instead of the 2nd floor. The other issue was hot water to the room as there was none, receptionist said to run the hot tap and shower for 10 minutes to get warm water for a shower. Apart from the above we were very comfortable in the room, it was spotlessly clean and spacious. Great bar service, very helpful staff and a much better experience than the Arrochar which we stayed in on the way up. We didn’t have an evening meal as we had a meal before arriving. But the porridge we had for breakfast was amazing! We’d have had a full Scottish but felt full from the porridge. We hope to stay here again when we next visit Scotland.

We had breakfast lunch and dinner and all of them were great. The views across the road were amazing with Loch Lomond right on your doorstep. What helped make it a great stay were the staff. All very professional and friendly. Even with a packed restaurant, check ins and other jobs they seemed to just take everything in their stride. Hope to visit again.
• Brazil_8 (4/5): Old, outdated and abandonned - The Good: A beautiful old château in a stunning location, right across the road from Loch Lomond. Plenty of safe, convenient parking. The setting has great potential and offers a picturesque atmosphere. ⸻ The Bad: We stayed in a twin room, which was located in a tired and run-down annex. Access involved navigating a long maze of internal corridors and doors. The room itself felt eerie and poorly maintained, with sparse, low-quality furnishings — just a single tiny nightstand and one bedside lamp. The small plastic bathroom lacked charm and comfort. The room was located directly under the roof, with no air conditioning or heating, making it uncomfortable regardless of the weather. The restaurant was a disaster. We booked for Saturday dinner at 7 PM. Upon arrival, the waitress greeted us by saying: “No more fish. No more pizzas. And I have two parties of nine, so if you want to eat here, it’ll be approximately 40 minutes before I can take your order.” Breakfast the next morning was equally chaotic. Only one overwhelmed waiter was working. There were no fruits, no juice, and guests were queuing at the kitchen door asking for basics like milk or coffee. It was disorganized and disappointing. ⸻ Final Thoughts: It’s a real shame. With competent management and an engaged owner, this place could easily become a jewel on the A82. The location and building have charm, but the service and maintenance fall far short of expectations.
• magsk1960 (6/5): Good but…. - Greeted with a friendly welcome and given all info needed also a very friendly receptionist chatted to us later at night while we walked our dog. The hotel and room was spotless with a very comfortable bed and nice toiletries. We didn’t eat there as walked up to the Kirk of the Lochs a ten minute walk away. ( very nice) Our issue was a humming sound / generator or a/c type of noise and it went on ALL night resulting in no sleep at all. For this reason alone I wouldn’t return which is a shame as it’s a beautiful part of the country.

However, I am making an exception here because I recently stayed at this hotel on two separate occasions and both times I was amazed to find staff who really care. What an absolute joy! On top of this, I travel with my Service dog and on both occasions they were kind enough to carry my massive dog crate from my car into my hotel room - which made a huge difference to me. Thank you so much - I will be returning twice a year from now on!!!

I didn't get her name but she is a real asset to the hotel. Also a big shout out to the guy who was working the bar/restaurant area. He took his time to engage with the guests. Rooms are basic but spotlessly clean. Perfect after a long drive. Breakfast was very tasty and the views over Loch Lomond were just stunning. I'll definitely be back.
• S7601FClindas (10/5): Lovely short stay and views of Loch Lomond - A one night night stay on our travels to Isle of Skye. Overall it was a lovely friendly hotel. The receptionist was welcoming and informative of our stay and as we had our little dog with us she advised us where we could eat within the restaurant. Our room was basic, bit dated but clean and we had a view of Loch Lomond. Our room was located to the back of the hotel which meant a bit of a walk through the hotel to take our dog out for late night/early morning toilet visit, but also meant it was very quiet. The evening meal was very enjoyable and the waiter was very attentive due to allergies. The breakfast was continental and full English. Their was a good choice of both. Loch Lomond is seen from the hotel, this was a lovely hotel in a beautiful location, we would definitely go back!

The hotel is 200 years old and looks it . The room was clean, the bed comfortable. The room looks like it's been furnished my Ikia, all flat pack rubbishThat's it bathroom was so small toilet crammed in between wall and shower the shower as an 9 inch step to get into it. I did tell them when booking I was disabled. A small lift only holds 2 . 6 steps down to dinning room. In other words absolutely no good for disabled. The food was bog standard cafe food. Breakfast cold greasy. Sandwiches good . Menue same all the time no proper meals. These new owners have killed it. And for this I payed for a superior room. Disgusted not worth half the amount I paid. Been in better B&Bs for a third of the price. The staff did their best its not their fault can't praise them enough

Room 234, peeling paint, foul smells, an electrical system where you choose, coffee or watch Tv or charge a phone. You can’t do all at once. It’s noisy from any direction and I slept less than an hour. There is 9” between a small bed and the tv stand. 5 hallways from a lift that is not safe, a front desk that does not care. It’s like a horror movie set. Redeeming qualities. The picture of the exterior, which is why we booked and the bar tender. Go to Loch Lamond and book a B&B

Lots of stairs, and a somewhat confusing layout with fire doors, but that's the nature of the property. It's cute though if you fancy a stay at a castle like property. It's right across from the loch Lomond and easy to walk along the lake and enjoy. It's also right by the road, if you are a light sleeper might need ear plugs for the peak season.

The second plus is the dinner restaurant which served two great meals taste wise, although the presentation left a lot to be desired Given the great location the building enjoys an investment North of £12m might begin to address their problems I write as a long retired architect who in a past life worked for many hoteliers all over the world so have some idea how hotels and restaurants sought to work I did of course share all these thoughts whilst staying with them, but they were not being given any support at all as far as I could judge from senior management This place can only be described as cheap and nasty but really does have the potential to be expensive and fabulous

The classic bedrooms however are awful. The carpets and walls are dirty. The shower rooms are falling apart and dirty and the showers lack water pressure. My brother-in-law compared it to a "nonery bedroom" and called it "disgusting". I was embarrassed because I was the one who chose this hotel on the strength of its location and booked the rooms. The staff were friendly, the food was good but watch out for the hidden service charge. We were made aware of it by a disgruntled customer who was asking for a refund of this service charge as we entered the restaurant.

However, we were on a 2 night DBB rate and upon arrival we asked about the dinner, what does it include. Been to hotels previously who had different allowances for dinner we thought we would ask. We were told starter, main and sweet. Again, asked before ordering dinner and stated we were in DBB anything off the menu, which we were told yes by a different staff member. After the meal we were presented with the full dinner bill and when questioned we were told that it was a £25 allowance per person by the third member of staff, who kindly delt with it quickly. Second evening…. From the 4th member of staff who we mentioned it too told us it was £20 not £25. As you could imagine, this all felt a bit strange, no one seemed to know. When checking out, we had supplements on our bill which no one seemed to know what they were for. We paid for all our drinks as we went along apart from one round which we signed for to be put on the room. The staff were lovely and sorted it all out however, it’s just off putting and we weren’t the only ones at check out having problems with things on our bill we knew nothing about.

All food was served in the bar area. Breakfast menu was ok but dinner was very limited. The menu was available from lunch until 8pm so if you didn' t want chips, burgers etc there was only rissotto or fish pie. Food was also quite expensive. We have used this hotel before but this will be the last time!!

The bedroom was spacious and the beds most comfortable. Breakfast was extensive with lots of choice - fresh fruit, pastries, cheese, cereals etc. the hot breakfast was as expected. We also had dinner - fish and chips which was delicious. Staff are most welcoming and helpful too.

Food was excellent with large portion sizes and value for money. I would definitely return and would recommend to friends and family. The rooms were large and comfortable and my husband and I both had a great nights sleep. The hotel is also in a very picturesque location right on Loch Lomond and across from the hotel there are loch Lomond cruises available.
• N7589IRlaurap (10/5): Good caring hotel - When we arrived around 8pm we saw a man lying down (trying to sleep?) in a bus shelter outside the hotel. We checked in, left our bags in our room and went to the bar for tea about 8.30pm. The man was still outside. My husband went to ask the staff if it would be OK to invite the man into the warmth at least until his bus arrived. We were happy to buy him a hot drink or something, but couldn't afford to pay for an extra room for the night. The staff were really grateful we made them aware of a man in a bad situation outside their hotel. They put him up for the night, fed him and made sure he was OK. We were really impressed at the care and hospitality shown.

Nice decor once inside and all areas seemed to be spotlessly clean. Welcoming staff, smooth check-in. Stayed in a Superior Double room with breakfast. Room was extremely spacious (Could easily have taken a Super King bed) with a wonderful view of the water. Very good shower with a good selection of toiletries. Bed was comfortable with nice, plump pillows. We ate in the restaurant for dinner. Food was excellent, served in a nice ‘dog friendly atmosphere’. Breakfast was buffet style, with a decent selection to choose from.
