Exceptional hosts with great recommendations for local sites and restaurants. Good option if you're looking for a more authentic accommodation experience.

The host, Bungo-san and his mother were incredibly welcoming, offering great local tips and even helping our dinner reservation. You can really tell how much they care for this historic Ryokan; it is beautifully maintained and spotless.

• Aryn (10/5): A wonderful experience with sincere hospitality - This was my first stay at a traditional ryokan, and I absolutely loved it! I can't wait to come back. Bungo-san was such a sweet, attentive host, and he walked me through every interesting attraction in the area when I arrived and offered to help me with making any reservations I needed in the area. He also carried my (very heavy) suitcase up to my room for me. He is very kind and welcoming. A few days before I arrived, he even sent me links to Google Maps with their recommendations for places to eat, shop and find activities, which I particularly appreciated! The ryokan is also perfectly located - I got everywhere I needed on foot except for one time I took a bus, and Bungo-san also gave me local maps with transit information. He was so so so helpful, I cannot speak highly enough of his hospitality. The onsen was also lovely! It was an older building with fairly thin walls, so it was a little hard to fall asleep, but I really didn't mind that much! Bungo-san provided a list of requests for guests, which included how to care for tatami mat rooms and a request to be mindful of noise at night, which I think everyone respected, some things just can't be helped but it didn't negatively affect my experience here. I would wholeheartedly recommend it.

Habitación amplia y café y té a disposición, así como Yukatas, me encanta. Preciosa decoración también. El futón era muy duro para mi gusto y la almohada también. La escalera para acceder a la habitación un poco incómoda. Pero fueron inconvenientes menores.

• Edie (10/5): Delightful little family run ryokan in the heart of Kanazawa. - We loved the attention paid to us and to all that was in the ryokan. Bungo and his mother were delightful and really went out of their way to make us feel welcome. It’s an older building, but everything was clean and functional. The private onsen in the basement really made my day. It was perfect after a long day out sightseeing. It’s close to everything in Kanazawa. The steps up our room were steep. A handrail would be helpful.

The spa was clean and comfortable and private for each room, though it was first come first serve. The hosts were welcoming and gave excellent food recommendations.
• Shay (8/5): - The ryokan was beautiful, in a very good shape, owner tries his best to keep the place perfect which is admirable. There's an option to go inside the onsen privately which was very nice for us as a couple on our honeymoon. Bungo the owner gave us a map in our native language (Hebrew) and gave us a lot of information before we started exploring Kanazawa, which was very thoughtful and nice, we are grateful. Sleeping on the floor wasn't for us but we just had to try. The only bad thing that happened was the guests above our Ryokan. They wouldn't stop walking around the room from 7pm to 1am, which made it impossible to sleep because we heard everything and couldn't fall asleep properly until they stopped..
