Guest Reviews
- Tracey (10/5): Great time in North Wales - A little gem of a place. Had a lovely big bedroom with great views. Andrew, Beth and Cher were great hosts and couldn’t do enough for you.
The location is great for exploring North Wales, Snowdonia and Anglesey.
- Giedre (10/5): Wish to visit again - Absolutely amazing place, hosts, breakfast.
Only regret we didn't stay longer.
Even if it is a bit further from towns, it's perfect for nature getaway as there's some hikes and locations near by.
Comfortable bed, clean & tidy, stylish rooms
- Emma (10/5): Fabulous!!!! - We had an amazing stay! The room was spotless, beautifully decorated, and looked exactly like the photos. Our host was incredibly warm, welcoming, and helpful, which made the experience even better. We especially loved the star gazing—it was unforgettable. We would absolutely recommend this place and are already looking forward to coming back. A perfect 10/10!
- Natalie (10/5): - What a lovely experience. The room was spacious and had room to sit and enjoy a drink. The communal lounge was a beautiful space, with an honesty bar, and we were invited to use the fridge to store our own drinks if required.
There is no meal service outside of breakfast, but the local area has several options. Breakfast was pre-ordered the night before, and was freshly cooked.
Staff were friendly and attentive. This was a really enjoyable stopover.
- Stephanie (2/5): - Staff are very unhelpful
- Michelle (10/5): - Stay here with my husband for a one night stay and wished we could have stayed longer.
Lovely building , bedroom was fantastic with stunning views and the owners and staff were very welcoming.
We she return
Many thanks

- Elaine (10/5): Highly recommend Coed Mawr - Wonderful 2 night break, thoroughly enjoyed it. Friendly, spotlessly clean, beautiful room, comfortable bed and scrumptious breakfast. (Must give the fruit salad a special mention, it’s delicious) and the views are magnificent. Would stay here again without hesitation, it’s a gem of a place.

- Bryan (10/5): - We based ourselves at Coed Mawr for a mix of personal business and pleasure. Andrew and Beth were extremely nice hosts who keep this magnificient property in tip top condition. The cooked breakfast is superb, with a great choice, plus of course the continental selection. Our room was spacious and spotless. The property is located at the end of a long track, don't be put off by it being a track, it is in very good condition. There are beautiful views across the valley which just add to the peaceful surroundings. Within easy driving distance of much of North Wales major tourist destinations.
- Zoe (10/5): Long weekend off work ☺️ - Lovely building, very clean and well presented. Very thoughtful touches with a honesty fridge and toiletries if you’ve forgotten anything. Room was comfortable and clean. Bathroom had supplies of shampoo/body wash that smelled delightful. Breakfast was very good and plentiful. Owner and children were very friendly and informative. We had some tasty bara brith on arrival ☺️. Very much out of the way, so very peaceful and quiet stay. We would highly recommend and would stay again.
- Anthony (10/5): - Just amazing, breakfast set you beautifully up for the day. If you could bear to leave the venue, that is. The setting is breathtaking, with lovely valley walks from the front door. River and sea all very easy to access too.
- Janet (10/5): - Can’t recommend this place enough! It’s absolutely beautiful. Lovely welcome from Andrew when we arrived, he made us feel so welcome. Everywhere was so clean, the bed was comfy and the breakfast was great. The view from our window was stunning. Only stayed for two nights but come back home feeling very relaxed. We will definitely return.
- Craig (10/5): - A truly unique place set amongst the beautiful hills of North Wales. The view from our window was stunning. We were made to feel very welcome and were taken to our amazing room named ‘The Ballroom’. Nothing was too much trouble and the breakfasts were delicious. The staff were professional and the owners made us feel very special. We can’t wait to return again. Thank you to Beth and Andrew 👍

A gorgeous boutique hotel, run by a charming family, who have put so much thought and heart into all the little touches that made our stay both wonderful & unique.

- Ms S (10/5): Exceeds expectations weekend break experience - Stay was outstanding. Wonderful service started on arrival when the owner greeted us on arrival and carried our bags up to the room. We were then presented with tea/coffee and bara brith in a beautiful lounge area. - Mike (10/5): - Absolutely fantastic from start to finish. Incredibly beautiful location, excellent room with comfortable bed. Personal service. Thoroughly recommended.
- Tom (10/5): Excellent - Me and my wife booked this place for our honeymoon. When we got to the gate, the owners’ daughter happened to be there and opened it for us, and greeted us. This set the tone for the whole stay - a beautiful, family-run guest house with great attention to detail, from the honesty bar, perfect radio volume and fantastic interior design of the lounge, to the always-pristine, well stocked breakfast/tea room. The owners have a wealth of knowledge about the area with lots of guidance on local walks, local pubs and any attractions nearby. It was a really lovely place to stay with excellent views and a very enjoyable room (we stayed in “the classroom” on the top floor). Couldn’t have made our honeymoon any more perfect!!
- Steven (10/5): - Brilliant stay for 2 night in room number 1 with four poster bed. Owners couldn’t be more helpful, location is amazing with the pub just a short 10 minute walk away. Decor very stylish and everything very clean.

- Verified traveler (10/5): - An absolutely perfect stay at this beautiful property- a total get away from it all break with wonderful hospitable hosts and the most beautifully decorated property I think I've ever seen! Add to this a comfortable bed and delicious break meant our two day stay was true perfection- thank you so much.
- Colin (10/5): Great stay - Great location, in a quiet sucluded area, plenty of nice walks, lovely rooms, great breakfast and friendly hosts in Beth and Andy. Would love to visit again sometime...
- Marina (10/5): Loved it - Loved this hotel. Welcoming, quirky, extremely clean and lots of thoughtful touches provided by the owners. All set in a beautiful scenic location.
- Gareth (10/5): Beautiful guest house with amazing hosts. - My wife and I had a lovely stay here. The word guest house doesn’t do this place justice. It’s more of boutique micro hotel.
Once we had arrived we were greeted warmly shown to our beautiful room and offered a lovely pot of tea with welsh cakes. The owner then arranged a table for us at the local pub for dinner a pleasant ten minute country walk away.
The views over the fields and valley where lovely. The breakfast was cooked immaculately and the staff where warm and friendly.
We are definitely coming back I’d give it 6 out 5 stars if I could. Highly recommended just don’t tell everyone. 😉
- Verified traveler (10/5): Absolutely lovely - Absolutely lovely stay. Fantastic welcome. Facilities and breakfast were both spot on. Beautiful setting. We will be going back.
- Bryan (10/5): Outstanding - We had a lovely stay here. On arrival Beth greeted us with tea and welsh cakes. The room was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. There was plenty of choice for breakfast and everyone there was vwry friendly, chatty and helpful. We would definitely stay here again!

Room was magazine worthy
Cabinet with toothpaste, deodorant etc in case you had forgotten your own was a nice touch

- Vicky (10/5): Loved it - Out of this world. So comfortable and relaxing. This place was exactly what we needed. The room was gorgeous and the bed extremely comfy. The hosts were lovely and couldn't do enough for us. After 10 mins there we checked to see if they could fit us in for another night because we knew we wouldn't want to leave. Unsurprisingly they were fully booked.
Loved this place, want to go back there again as soon as possible. Thank you for having us

- Caron (10/5): CC - Great weekend away Coed Mawr Hall was excellent with exceptional attention to detail, the room had spectacular views and the breakfast was made with high quality ingredients and beautifully cooked, delicious.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Quite possibly the best place I’ve ever stayed. Everything about the place was perfect, great location and views, spacious, comfortable and well decorated rooms, delicious breakfast and the owners were ever so friendly and helpful. Won’t even bother looking at other places next time I’m in Snowden, If I could rate this place higher than excellent I would.
- Dave (10/5): Short break - Excellent, we arrived about 8 in the evening and were offered tea/coffee which was served with a warm welsh cake.highly
The rooms are spacious and clean.
There is a good choice for breakfast and good locally sourced products are included.
Would highly recommend and will hopefully book again soon.
- Jodie (10/5): My stay - The location was beautiful and Beth was so welcoming. I just felt at home , which I believe is exactly how the hosts intend it to be. The interior decor is really modern yet doesn’t lose the history of the building. I immediately booked for later in the year to bring my partner and have also told friends who are looking to book the pet freindly cottages. As I travel with business , I felt I didn’t make the most of what the location has to offer however I thoroughly enjoyed my room , breakfast and dinner in the local pub.
- Sharon (10/5): Go back is a must - We had a fantastic time.the hosts were friendly and couldn't do enough for us.we arrived and were brought tea and Welsh cakes. Breakfast was really good with an excellent choice of really good quality products.the only drawback was the shower which didn't have enough power.5 stars plus for this lovely hotel
- Verified traveler (10/5): - There is nothing to not like about this place!
The owner Beth, was incredible. So accommodating and welcoming. Lovely location with stunning viewing. This will be the place we will be staying when in North Wales.
The rooms are large due to the style of Property.
Everywhere was spotless
There was a lounge area that anyone could use.
The breakfast is all from local producers and was great.
I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat.
- Mr md (10/5): Amazing! - The hosts could not have been more welcoming. They made our stay a very comfortable one. From the minute we arrived to our departure nothing was too much trouble. Our room was decorated to a high standard as was the rest of the house. Breakfast was great too! Thank you to Andy and Beth, we will be back.
- Julie (10/5): - Excellent place to stay! Comfortable bed, tasty breakfast, great hosts and a beautiful location. We loved our weekend there.
- David (10/5): - This was our second time at Coed Mawr Hall and it was as idyllic as the first time. The rooms are beautiful - the decor mixes old, vintage and new seamlessly. The views are gorgeous - watching the clouds skip across the hills is mesmerizing. Interacting with the hosts Andy, Beth and their young family is a pleasure We used to live in hotels 250+ nights a year, and from that experience I can tell you - this is one of the most enjoyable places we've ever stayed.
- Alberta (10/5): The Perfect B&B - Absolutely wonderful! I have absolutely no hesitation in saying that. Warm welcome, delicious food, lovely large airy room, spotlessly clean, amazing view! Beth and Andrew are perfect innkeepers--welcoming, friendly, but also non-intrusive. Everything about this 2 night stay encouraged us to come back soon. This one is well worth the drive and the directions they give are spot on.
- Edward (10/5): A Coed Mawr Convert! - Fantastic stay at Coed Mawr. Ideal base to explore North Wales. Lovely welcoming hosts, great accommodation, delicious breakfasts and great amenities. Will definitely return in 2019
- Alison (10/5): Lovely place. - Couldn’t fault this place. Room very nice and the people very friendly. Breakfast was good too
- Amy (10/5): Brilliant time at Coed Mawr Hall - The pictures don’t do this place justice. The room was amazing, the bathroom was spectacular! We stayed in the Lodge room and the view from the room was beautiful! The hosts were very welcoming and make a mean breakfast! Definitely would return
