• Elizabeth (8/5): Overall a really good experience - Location and lovely room. There were 2 weddings on on the Friday and it was quite scary entering hotel in the evening with the huge crowds congregating everywhere. Also there was a lot of noise outside our door at 2.30 am on Saturday night.

One thing I didn’t enjoy was that when we got back to our room late in the night we realized the water had been turned off and we couldn’t shower or anything, and it was off for a couple of hours. Would have been nice to receive some warning.

I watched him juggle several things at once for other guests with great professionalism. When we got in our room, we saw that it was the wrong room type, and he quickly fixed it for us. I found the staff to be polite and friendly. Room was clean and enjoyed the overall vibe in the lobby area. Did feel it was a little pricey, but enjoyed our stay nonetheless. We came off-season so had no parking issues but can definitely see that that would be the biggest hurdle when staying at this hotel.

The check in at the seamless and detailed. The decor and cleanliness you cannot miss. The approximation to the boardwalk was perfect . Max at the front desk was so helpful and great and Chelsea made sure everything was taken care of as we corresponded prior to check in. We received everything we wanted and everyone made the process smooth and easy. We loved the marquee sign that remained up all weekend to greet our guests! Can’t wait for our next stay here!
• 835mariea (6/5): A Conveniently Located Hotel with Some Surprises in Store - I want expecting to be woken up on my first night by a fire alarm going off at 8am for over 5 minutes and also didn't expect to have a room that was next to garbage pickup that also took place at 8am - I now know quiet rooms need to be requested.

• Y7288SAvanessam (6/5): Just okay. - The hotel itself is beautiful but the rooms leave much to be desired. There are no drawers to place your clothing. The closet clothing rod if on the bottom, and not the top so your clothing is dragging on the floor; also not the best use of space. The bed was supposed to be a king size but its more like a queen size. There are no hooks tall enough to hang or steam your clothing. The windows have shutters but no curtains to block out light like in most hotels. And finally, the bathroom had a foul smell coming from the drains. Overall just an okay room.

• malia17dental (2/5): Very Uncomfortable Stay – Cleanliness and Noise Issues - I was extremely disappointed with my recent stay. Upon arrival, our first room had blood-stained sheets and hair, which I reported to the front desk with photos. Our new room had water issues that were not resolved during our stay; we were told maintenance could only come at 7:00 AM the next day, which was inconvenient. Additionally, the walls were so thin that we could clearly hear our neighbors being intimate, which made the stay even more uncomfortable. Overall, I cannot recommend this hotel due to cleanliness, maintenance, and noise problems.

From pre-booking discussion with the sales manager to the valet (who navigated blizzard weather) and check in team, every moment was perfect. Loved the vinyl collection. The atmosphere of The Asbury is relaxing and hip! The rooms are cozy and even included a record player to play the library of records in the lobby! Staff was excellent. Super attentive and friendly!

• Q2160PQpaulo (6/5): Great Staff, But The Asbury is Losing Its Soul - had an "okay" stay, but as a long-time fan of this property, I’m seeing some concerning shifts. The Highlights: The stay was anchored by the excellent service at the concierge desk and the lobby bar. The staff were professional and welcoming, and the room itself was great—clean, comfortable, and well-designed. The Critique: However, for a "premium" destination, the product needs to be flawless, and right now, the details are slipping. Our in-room record player was dead, and the pool table is on its last legs and desperately needs a repair. The lobby bar is also starting to feel outdated; between the giant glassware fridge and the service mats, it feels more like a storage area than a high-end lounge. With only two chairs at either end, it’s not the inviting social hub it used to be. The Identity Crisis: More importantly, the culture is shifting. The Asbury used to be the destination for rock shows and an authentic escape. Now, it feels like it’s detaching from its roots and trying to "Manhattanize" the experience. We come here to escape the city, not relive it. Even the staff seemed disconnected from the programming—when we asked about the evening's entertainment, the answers were vague and uninformed. Bottom Line: If you’re going to charge these prices, the training and maintenance must be top-tier. I’d love to see The Asbury bring back the grit, the soul, and the polished execution that made it famous in the first place.

• TVtravel030 (10/5): Asbury Hotel Happiness - This hotel is pretty unique and fun. You can tell this hotel designed with the idea of people hanging out in the first floor common areas instead of the room. Nothing really against the rooms but it feels like it's going for a communal feel. Upon arrival I was surprised to see the space as I walked in but in the best possible way. I will say that it was a little tricky seeing where the front entrance was, especially at night if you're not familiar with the area. The valet isn't very well marked and there isn't a distinct sign that screams ASBURY HOTEL. Just a little minor detail. The lobby is pretty cool. There is a bar on one end and the other a food pantry area that also has food to order. Across from that is a lounging area and a space with a pool table and pinball machine. OH and there is a wall of cassettes which is how I listened to music growing up (yikes! I just aged myself) so it was cool later on rummaging through them and reminiscing. Ok. No more walks down memory lane. The person who checked me in was super nice and welcoming. If you read my other reviews, this is a big part of how I feel about the hotel. All good so far. I went up to the room and was actually surprised how narrow the hallway was. Once in my room I was actually a little surprised at how small it was. Pictures were a little deceiving but not the end of the world since I was there for work and gone most of the day. I do wish the room was a little bigger.Well, sometimes things happen that change things. Sadly this room had NO heat and it was in the 30s outside. I told the front desk and they said maintenance was gone and asked if I wanted to change rooms. YES! YES! YES! So I did and this next room was bigger. Not leaps and bounds bigger but a bigger bed and wider. Overall I thought the room was nice. the bed was comfortable and there were a lot of outlets for charging. It has a desk area for those who might like to work at a desk. The bathroom was well appointed but a little on the smaller side. What I did like about the room is that that it felt new and not worn. I imagine the hotel is pretty new based on the look and design. Being that Bruce Springsteen is from Asbury Park or lived there, it did have cool music vibes throughout. Now I do have one complaint and not sure if this is in the hotel's power or not. There is a diner attached to the hotel that is open for BLD. You do have to walk outside to get to it but think it's kind of part of the hotel since I believe that's where their room service comes from. The diner is way smaller than it looks in the pictures so that was a little shocking. I had breakfast there and it was empty. The person working there was ok. Not the most inviting but fine. My issue is more with dinner one night. I went there thinking I'd just have dinner in the restaurant so I don't have to eat in my room which I prefer not doing. I walk in and it's empty. The server was just sitting at a table on their phone. I said, a table for one or I can just sit at the counter. They said, the restaurant was closed and only doing take out. Ummm ok. But it says that you're open until 11 and it's only 8 pm. I thought this was weird and kind of a bummer. It felt like they were making that up so they didn't have to wait on me even though the place was empty. Because of this I decided not to go back there for breakfast the next morning. It was just one of those moments that was a head scratcher. Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel if in Asbury Park. Since it was fall and I was working all day I didn't really get to experience the boardwalk or that area that the hotel was near. It is by the Stone Pony which is legendary. I'm guessing in spring and summer this hotel and area is mobbed. If and when I might be in this area again, I would stay here again and look forward to it.

• Le Thi (1/5): - Location is great They charge me more than the bill they give me and I dont understand why. THe Bill hotel give me 797.97 usd but in my Visa card is 28,005,139 more than 1050 USD. and I do not know how they exchange the Bill to VND why more than the Bill 200 usd. They dont clean the room till you ask. They dont have hot water for free, they charge you for hot water 3 usd for 2 cups of noodle when all the hotel have coffee and hot water for free.

Also many dogs and very noisy full of barking and old style A/C units that are also clunky & noisy, not a good night's sleep.

• DanPJNYC (8/5): A stay in Asbury for Bruceeeee and Light of Day - Great location and very modern I stayed on the off season so didn’t get to see the rooftop and other amenities . What others have said is true the rooms are small . Also at night I got back late from a concert didn’t seem to be anyone’s the front desk it’s kind of quiet at night there should be a security presence. Staff is great though front desk and the coffee bar was top notch . Katie was super friendly and a great barista . Would stay again and the price is tough but you can’t beat the location ! Greeeetings Asbury park !

Every single member of the staff was super friendly and went above and beyond to make us feel like we were at home, not at a hotel. We brought our puppy, Cali, along and she was treated like a celebrity. Could not recommend this hotel enough, we will definitely be back!
• nancyaM8529VX (10/5): Lovely vibe every time - Fantastic place to stay and that’s why we are repeat customers, even during the off-seasons. Customer service at this hotel is top-notch. They do everything to make you comfortable and are super dog friendly. Such a lovely vibe through and through, time after time. Shout out to some amazing staff, including Max, Vanessa, Vito, Ahmed, Tom, and Dom. I’m sure there’s some we’re missing because we didn’t catch everyone’s name, but everyone we encountered was an absolute pleasure to deal with.
• 214karliem (6/5): Great Staff, Clean Room, But The Boss Suite Missed the Mark - I reserved The Boss Suite for my husband’s birthday because it was advertised as a unique, unforgettable “experience.” Based on the hotel’s marketing, I expected something truly special. The description promised original Bruce Springsteen portraits by Danny Clinch, a floor to ceiling vinyl tribute, a stack of Bruce’s most iconic records, a signed copy of Still Moving, a Bruce inspired Asbury Park itinerary, a complimentary Tenth Avenue Freeze Out cocktail, and Bruce’s favorite late night snack at turndown. I do want to note that the front desk and bar staff were very friendly, and the room itself was clean and comfortable, which we appreciated. However, the overall experience fell far short of what was advertised, especially considering the $498.62 price for one night. The “stack of iconic records” included only four or five Springsteen albums mixed into a pile of about fifteen, most of which were not his and not what a true fan would consider his 'most iconic'. The “signed copy of Still Moving” was signed by Danny Clinch, not Bruce Springsteen, which felt misleading given the theme of the suite. The complimentary cocktail was for one guest only—an unexpectedly small gesture for a suite clearly intended for two people. The turndown PB&J consisted of three small, cookie-cutter guitar shaped bites, which was not enough for two guests to enjoy a full serving. I also noticed an 8% tax labeled as a “VAT” on my bill; New Jersey does not use VAT (Value Added Tax), and this term is not used anywhere in the United States. This fee is meant to represent a municipal occupancy tax and should be labeled accurately. As written, it was incorrect and misleading. Overall, the experience did not match the expectations set by the hotel’s own marketing. What was presented as a premium, immersive Springsteen themed stay felt incomplete and underwhelming. We left disappointed and do not feel the cost was justified. Unfortunately, The Boss Suite made our stay at The Asbury one we won’t forget for the wrong reasons.

The hotel itself has a very cool vibe and was immaculate. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Max, in particular, made us feel so welcome and took great care of us. Location is perfect and we enjoyed awesome live music in the lobby after dinner. Will definitely be back!

• Quinlan (5/5): - Room nice Gratuity added to everything if you did not see the sign you would not have known even to a cup of coffee (20%), a wedding was taking place so we could not hang out in the lobby as we had planned before going to our event, it would have been nice to have known this prior, plus 35 dollars to park your car and no one there in the morning when we had to leave to get our car, had to call guest services 4 times before someone actually answered to find out how to get our car.

The 1s day was very cold,yesterday was beautiful I always the boardwalk for a while. My room was really nice too. I had decent view of the ocean. I love this hotel, everybody is really cool! Oh and I DIDN'T get a parking ticket this time!!!

• H4013KCmatthews (10/5): Fun place, good for couples. - We had a great stay at the Asbury. The room was very comfortable, and the amenities in the lobby were great! We took advantage of the record library to listen to some music on the in-room turntable. We also frequented the coffee bar AND the cocktail bar. Service was top notch, and the lobby staff were very helpful. Highly recommend.
• JDublingirl62 (8/5): Nice relaxing stay - My daughter and I had tickets for a show in Asbury which is an hour from where we live. I decided to book this hotel so we could enjoy the area.The location is great, close to boardwalk, bars and restaurants. The Asbury is very clean and comfortable. Small room but nice large modern bathroom. I would book this hotel if I was visiting again especially off season when the rates are lower and you can book one weekend night.

• dcheers2u (8/5): Clean & Minimal - Here for a family wedding. Our room was clean and fresh. We/3 adults were not impressed with size of room, lack of decor and lack of plugs/usb ports, very difficult to reach. One plug was behind fridge down by floor..weird ? Bed linens were very plush, towels nice and soft. Noise level was great. We did have a lovely view of dog park, and we could even see a part of the ocean. The location was within walking distance which was intentionally done and fabulous. Front desk was friendly and due to their relaxed attire everyone felt comfy upon arrival. Cafe at other end gets rave reviews on breakfast. Coffee was excellent no weak crap, lol. And lastly. Upon check out, I attempted to push open that heavy door by valet stand. I did a double take at the actual valet who had no clue I use help. All in all our stay was wonderful .

• davidhG2518CX (2/5): We would NOT repeat the Asbury - Unimpressed and many things led to that. o There is not easy access to the lobby when you are schlepping luggage. There may be a ramp somewhere, but from the main entry point you have to drag luggage up a few hard stone/concrete steps to reach the lobby. o Parking is an abomination. While there appears to be adequate parking in the surrounding lots, those aren't available to hotel guests. There is a choice between valet parking (quoted at $35/night) and street parking. Local residents need to tell their representatives that "paid street parking" between 9 AM and 2 AM and "free street parking" from 2 AM to 9 AM is fundamentally stupid in the hotel district for a resort town. o Parking Part Deux: We were quoted $35/night for valet parking. When we got the email invoice we found we were charged $55/night. Challenging the hotel. o The Thursday night we checked in there was a gala/fundraiser for a local art appreciation organization, the upshot of which is the DJ in the lobby blasting music for the gala made it difficult for the front desk staff to check us in. o The hotel has two captive properties slightly off site, a diner and an entertainment venue. The young lady at the diner helping us with dinner was pleasant enough but as we were the only two people in the diner at prime dinner time that says a lot. Food was mediocre and bar service was abysmal. The other captive property was, much like the main lobby, closed for a "private corporate event", and according to our diner helper would be for the next few weeks. This is supposed to be a 3+ star place and charges a 3+ star price. I've had better stays at a Holiday Inn.
• cathycO3981VH (4/5): Not worth the money - First the positive: the location is close to the boardwalk, staff is friendly, and the bathrooms are nice. Now the reasons why you should never ever stay at this hotel: my room (605) was the size of a shoebox, which was outrageous given I was spending over $500/night after you add the resort fee and various taxes. And, I was staying there in late October, long past the time when you could use their pool or rooftop bar. There simply are no amenities available for the hotel’s “resort fee.” The room “decor” is a joke - plywood cubbies (because the hotel was too cheap to spring for nightstands and dressers). The floor was vinyl/linoleum in a checkerboard pattern. The floor looked terrible - all scuffed up and dirty looking. You’d never want to walk on that floor with bare feet. I threw bathroom towels on the floor so I wouldn’t have to touch it without shoes on. I asked for a quiet room, away from the elevators which I got. However, they gave me a room overlooking a parking lot and train tracks (somewhere in the near distance) so I heard the train whistle constantly. Clearly, others had issues with the train noise because they put a white noise machine in the room. It didn’t work but I never travel without a white noise app so I was fine during the night. Oh, and the cheap window unit, which provides ac and heat, was awful. It had a musty smell while on and it was ridiculously loud. I ended up turning it off at night because it was impossible to sleep with it on (even with my white noise app blaring). If you were spending $200/night, you’d think, “well, this is what you get for $200/night.” But when you spend over $500/night as I did, it’s really appalling to get such a dumpy room. I took a picture of my tiny room (my back was literally pressed against the hallway door so it’s not as if I was trying to make the room smaller than it really was). It was really that small.
• marisah2018 (10/5): Funky fun and fabulous place to stay - This is one of the most fun, funky and creative places I’ve stayed! My favorite part is the record collection in the lobby bar where you can take a stack of vinyl up to your room and listen on your own in-room record player. Great food options, awesome decor, and extremely friendly and helpful staff. I highly recommend it!
• GlobetrotterDC (10/5): Love the Asbury Hotel in fall! - We had another wonderful stay at The Asbury Hotel! The staff kindly honored our request for our favorite room, and it was quiet, comfortable, and just what we needed. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and accommodating, and the whole experience felt easy and relaxed from start to finish. Highly recommend booking the King Deluxe on a high floor with a view of the ocean — it’s worth it. We can’t wait to come back!
• Lynne (5/5): Overpriced for value provided. - Location was perfect. Lobby was comfortable and inviting. Poor signage for arrival. No valet parking sign and cones placed awkwardly so it seemed you shouldn’t park there. Had to go into lobby to find someone to assist. Resort fee? Have had resort fees at other hotels where there was beach, towels, pool etc but not sure what resort amenities we were charged for. No housekeeping services provided on second nights despite asking for this at the desk. Front desk staff lethargic.

The cafe at the front desk was a unique touch. I also stayed here for a wedding and the venue, staff, and food was perfect! Shoutout to Lauren and the front desk staff for making my stay extra special. I will be back!

Staff were very friendly. It was a busy hotel with weddings on Friday and Saturday and Porch Fest kickoff. Short walk to all things Asbury Park. We had a great time and would definitely come back.

Pet friendly, record player in the room and the room was spacious and had a great layout. We had a studio suite that had a big table which was awesome to work on. Great windows and lots of natural light. Coffee in the lobby too. Pool table, swimming pool and a small diner next door.

We were put in a room right next to a street being paved and a wedding reception right below our window- tons of noise at night and early in the morning. A/C was noisy, not all TV functions worked and shower light was out.

• Alexander (2/5): Don't stay here - Way overpriced, poor amenities and customer service. It was clean but that's about it. Very noisy room could hear all the bass from the weddings downstairs finishing at 11pm. Rooms not soundproofed at all which we found very annoying especially given we were paying over $600 a night. Didn't like having to pay extra to park ($55 a day for valet what a rip off?!), no breakfast included, no free coffee, no proper restaurant, no doorman. Roof bar closed "due to weather", nobody to help with bags, nowhere to put clothes in room and so small had to live out of suitcase. Had to ask 2 or 3 times a day for our room to be cleaned - no idea why it isn't automatic at those prices. Level 2 where the gym is was a construction site and gym was very poor for these kinds of prices. Staff were pleasant but clueless and seemed unfussed by how uncomfortable we were. We won't be coming back which is a shame as we come to Asbury every year to visit family.

• russell (10/5): - Easy check in, we were allowed to check our bags to go to the beach before check in. Valet parking was super easy and our car was available 24 hours. Room was bright, clean, and the bed was really comfortable. Nice bathroom with big shower and soap and shampoo were provided. Pool was fun, rooftop deck was incredible. Great time!

Deafening music and screaming continued deep into the night, making it impossible for anyone to sleep. Our children were kept awake for hours, and the hotel staff did absolutely nothing to stop it. Calling this place a “hotel” is a joke — it’s more like a nightclub with beds. Management is either completely incompetent or simply doesn’t care about guests. Families should stay far away from this place. A disgrace to the hospitality industry.
