Guest Reviews
- G3171RLkerryg (10/5): Fantastic stay - Fabulous hotel perfect for families and couples. We stayed in room 809 which was large and spacious it was very close to the pool and restaurant with sea views. Our room was cleaned and towels changed on a daily basis. All meals and have been great, breakfast fresh omlettes, fried eggs, continental meats , breads , cereals , yogurts, pancakes. There is a snack bar where you can get burgers chips, jacket potatoes, pizza, ice creams and waffles during the day as well as the buffet restaurant which serves a variety of food for lunch and dinner - plenty of choice even for fussy eaters. Ignore any comments about the staff here they are all lovely and speak english. The bar staff are great serving a variety of drinks all day long. Big shout out to the great animation team.
The pool and beach is lovely with clear sea and plenty of sun beds.
Would we come back yes 100%
- 434wiktorial (10/5): I can recommend! - Everything was really nice, hotel is good, the staff is so kind! I can recommend:) really good place for a holiday. I came with a friend and we were afraid to go alone to Turkey but it was all good! 😊
- sonka1404 (10/5): Great week - Amazing place where the hotel is not like a block of flats, but small one-storey villas in a large beautiful garden. This guarantees a view from almost everywhere, especially from the pool and especially from the sea to the mountains that rise up a little above the hotel. Views therefore guaranteed always and everywhere 😊 WiFi worked very well throughout the whole area except for the outlying parts of the beach free of charge. Check in possible upon arrival as reception entered the details into the system (check in: room number and guest name).
Accommodation perfect, spacious rooms with balcony where there is no lack of a bathing suit dryer and towel, there is also a sitting area with a table. There are plenty of drawers in the room, there is a fridge, bedside tables, plenty of storage space, wardrobe. The bathroom is also spacious enough, the shower is separated by glass from the toilet, so there is no risk of splashing all over the bathroom. Cleaning every day including towel change. In the bathroom plenty of hygiene products. It is true that in the evening there was a little noise from the disco, but that's only because we had a room right at the edge. On the other hand, when the door to the balcony was closed, nothing could be heard. And the air conditioning was working.
The restaurant great food of all tastes, smells and types, new every day, everyone will find their own and be equally surprised every day. Plenty of seats at the tables, tables are also by the pool, pleasant climate. Drinks in the restaurant in glass, no plastic 😊. Helpful and skillful service, no leftovers, piles of plates etc anywhere. Everything clean. If we wanted a table from where someone had just left, just ask the attendant to clean up and it was immediately fulfilled incl place settings. There are also always meals prepared right in front of us - pancakes and crepes, Turkish pizza, bread, pasta, grilled meat, etc.
Two bars, one closer to the pool, the other between the pool and the beach. In both again helpful and skilful service. Drinks - the cocktails were mixed (yes really properly mixed), so they tasted as they should and not like somewhere, whatever you have, everything tastes the same....... Excellent Turkish coffee, tea, juice and water available from postmix, other soft drinks and alcohol available at the bars. Snacks at the pool bar between meals and in the evening, fresh chips, pasta etc. Definitely no one could be hungry or thirsty :-D There was plenty of seating at both bars. Drinks were served in glass, in case you said takeaway (e.g. to the beach), they were poured into a plastic but sturdy cup (similar to those from festivals,
football etc).
There were plenty of umbrellas and sun loungers on the beach, and there was always a table and a trash can under each umbrella (this is not usual), so everything was fine. There were mattresses on the sunbeds. Beach towels were available at any time in exchange for a card on arrival, or in exchange for a used towel (no deposit, no charge). Entrance to the sea either via a short jetty where you can jump, or a ladder, or sandbags (a sort of walkway to the sea 😊 directly from the beach) or anywhere from the beach, but beware - you need water shoes. The beach is sandy, but there are pebbles on the shore and at the edge of the sea too, and since there is quite a steep entrance, it goes down pretty fast 😊, then shoes make it much easier to enter. You can swim all the way to the buoys, so quite far. No one is squeezing on the beach or in the sea, swimming is really cool 😊 The lifeguard watches over the safety from above and there is also a "security guard" who is always walking and checking the beach. So this aspect is also taken care of.
The whole area is clean, beautiful well maintained garden, constant presence of some of the staff (cleaners, bartenders, waiters, maids, etc). The toilet at the pool,/bars/beach was always relatively clean and dry, toilet paper was also always available.
There is nothing to fault with the Hotel Club Boran Mare. It's not luxurious, but it doesn't need to be and we certainly don't seek it out. It's a lively, well maintained hotel and you can see the effort to keep it that way. Not just put on a show of ostentation, but nothing on the inside.
As for the guests. We were there of about 4 nationalities: Czechs, Poles, Germans and Russians. Not one nationality was favored had privileges. We even once witnessed the staff politely escorting out a gentleman at lunch who went in shirtless/shirtless and only in a swimsuit. What nationality he was we don't know and it didn't matter. It was shown that it's not nationality that counts, but politeness and that counts. So we certainly couldn't complain about either. No one was "shouted down" and we didn't experience anyone overreacting and then acting out. We may have been lucky to have cultured guests, but I trust the staff in this case to know what they should be doing.
The evening disco was louder, but in these countries it's just the rule :D They played Czech songs on request (M. David, H. Vondráčková, Kabáti, Gott, etc.).
There was no problem to speak English. Both at the reception (you would expect it there) and anywhere else, the maid didn't speak that much, but what was needed was enough 😊 At the bar and in the restaurant they spoke perfect German, Russian, Polish, English, sometimes even some Czech......
At the reception there is a museum of the Soviet Union. But decent and nice. Paintings, newspapers, books, etc. It certainly didn't offend. The museum was off to the side of the counter, so those who didn't want to, didn't have to. Everything was clean and nicely organized.
I can in good conscience recommend the Hotel Club Boran Mare to all ages. From little ones to the very old 😊
So again next time. Looking forward to it.......
- 677hollym (10/5): We loved it!! - We got transferred to this hotel after a fire at our original hotel. We turned up at club mare at 9pm and felt very happy to be here!
WiFi was good and fast in rooms and communal areas.
Food was lovely and lots of choice - we looked forward to every breakfast, lunch and dinner!
We loved that they had their own games in the bar area - especially Rummikub which is our fave!
Our rooms were cleaned everyday, even when we had a lay in the cleaner would come back and clean later on in the day. The decor for rooms was a bit old fashioned but the rooms were nice and clean.
It’s mainly a German/Russian hotel, but staff were really polite and tried their best to communicate in English.
We never had an issue getting sunbeds on lovely beach, but we did come off season (end of Oct)
We are looking forward to returning one day soon!
- 562jitkaf (8/5): Nice holiday setting, unfortunately not so much the evening atmospere. - POSITIVE: the hotel's facilities are very clean including the pool area, restaurant offers a large variety of food, pleanty of options where to pick something during the whole day.
Rooms big enough, not luxury - 4* standard I would say, our bathroom showed slightly neglected parts on the floor/ walls (5* hotel shouldn't permit this).
Staff at the restaurant always helpful with a fast cleaning service during meals.
NEGATIVE: hotel is strongly orientated on Russian speaking clients, entertainment programs in Russian every day, Russian music sounded around a lot. We were commenting on this fact with others non - Russian speaking clients.
One night we were suprised even by Russian karaoke which was pretty "ridiculous experience".
If you don't mind this situation you probably won't find big problems on the spot. However, if you prefer a slightly more international atmosphere, this hotel is best to avoid or leave every eveninig somewhere else.
- siyrennaa (10/5): We enjoyed our family holiday at Club Boran Mare Beach ! - Firstly I would like to thank Club Boran Mare Beach for making our family holiday that more much special. We would like to thank each and every one off the hotel staff for their hard work, attentiveness and for striving to make our stay as comfortable as possible.
We had a great time there from start to finish:
● Spacious and renovated rooms;
● Sooms cleaned every day and the bedsheets changed.
●Delicious and diverse range of food;
●High quality drinks and we loved the cocktails;
● The landscape of the hotel was well maintened and the scenery within and around the hotel was gorgeous and the mountains are stunning.
● Animation team were full of energy and positivity. They did their best to encourage everybody to participate respectfully.
● There are activities, sports, games and entertainment for everybody running from morning to evening.
● Friendly and helpful staff at the reception.
Don't forget water shoes! In case you forget they are available in shops within walking distance from the hotel.
We would definitely recommend this hotel.
- petersC2123YB (10/5): Everything, we needed - Our choice of Club Boran was driven by the fact that we were looking for a place where our child (3 years old, autism) could not only have a great time but also find a space to relax away from crowds and noise. The hotel manager kindly accommodated our request to place us in a quieter part of the hotel - we are very grateful for that.
We are very satisfied with our stay (June 2024). The hotel staff treated guests with great kindness without persistently expecting tips at every opportunity. The hotel grounds were very well-maintained. We noticed how many staff members were employed to take care of even the smallest details, such as daily weeding of the lawns or wetting the area around the slides to prevent the tiles from burning feet in the heat. We were also delighted with the Turkish cuisine. In the dining room, besides the regular set of dishes, there were new meal elements every day, so the food was not monotonous.
- katebP6009XZ (2/5): AVOID - Avoid avoid avoid. No were near 5 star. 2-3 at best.
Most staff can not communicate with you., and are very rude. Ask simple questions and shrug of the shoulders is what you get.
They do not like the English.
Service and food was awful.
Rooms not cleaned properly.
My parents only had their room cleaned (beds made and fresh towels) twice in a 10 night stay.
Sink area and mirror in bathroom not cleaned once.
No kettle in the room.
Not enough sun beds for the amount of guests
No chance of getting a sun bed if not up at 5am.
Broken rail and tiles around the pool.
Entertainment okay if you are from Russia or Turkey. Don’t seem to speak any other language.
My son wanted to play volleyball and was told no, as it was professionals playing.
Why go around the pool and ask people then?!
The whole resort is in need of modernisation.
The inside restaurant is awful.
They have a child’s area with food. Do not touch. Looked like it had been there since last season!
The only positive about the resort is the lifeguard on the slides. He was amazing with our boys and is a credit to them.
- Global26212941518 (2/5): Club Boran Mare- not worth the time and money - Worst experience ever.I don't know where to start, 1. Breakfast - poor choice of options, whatever is cooked is deep fried full of oil ( don't eat crepe). No proper coffee until 9:30 when one of the bars opens ( the nescafe coffee machine is on saver mode where you only get coffee flavour). Sun beds at the pool ,you need to wake up at 4 am. to get one. Sea beach, clear water but the sand is actually ballast so you need swimming shoes. Room cleaning - in 7 nights, stay not even once they hoovered the carpets ( 5 star not even close at best 2 to 3 star ) we got new towels daily. Lunch and dinner, unless you are vegetarian, will be repetitive and tasteless. Snacks I would suggest not to touch as wife and couple of others got belly ache from chicken or the chips ( don't think the oil gets changed). By the way, if you don't speak Russian or Turkish, good luck with the staff. Nobody has a conventional English level ( mind-blowing).Drinking is acceptable but not a great choice included in the free drinks. Night or day entertainment is good if you speak Russian or Turkish. Otherwise, it's pointless .Very disappointed with all the service, I will never return or recommend this hotel to anyone . If you go for " a la carte," you will have the biggest disappointment ever the food was fix menu ( you don't get to choose) food stall food was better in the harbour. If you go out shopping or visiting, be careful as everyone's will try to cheat you.
