Huguette (6/5): Es war nett, aber zum Wiederkommen reicht's leider nicht! - Wir wurden von Mark überaus freundlich empfangen, er gab uns gleich viele Tipps, was wir unternehmen könnten. Der Farmers Market in Sedgefield war absolut super! Nachdem wir während unseres Aufenthaltes unseren Hochzeitstag im Blue Sky verbrachten, schenkte er uns eine Flasche MCC. Der Blick in die Ferne, wenn man das Cottage betritt, ist atemberaubend. Das Jacuzzi ist toll. Leider gab es auch einiges zu bemängeln: Bereits am Samstagabend deutete es sich an, dass das Wifi und damit auch der TV ab und zu ausfällt. Am Samstag um 19.13 Uhr haben wir nachgefragt (ab und zu funktionierte WhatsApp), ob das Wifi Problem nur in unserem Cottage besteht. Bis jetzt haben wir keine Antwort erhalten. Am Sonntag konnten wir dann wirklich nicht das F1 Rennen schauen und wir bekamen nur die tägliche Standardmeldung, ob wir Room Service möchten. Wir verneinten mit dem Zusatz, dass Wifi schön wäre. Darauf auch bis jetzt keine Reaktion/Erklärung. Am Sonntag Abend funktionierte das Wifi wieder. Am Montag wollten wir den Tag gemütlich im Cottage bzw. auf der Terrasse verbringen. In der Früh lärmte ein Bagger, später gab es reichlich Motorsägen Geräusche. Diese begannen an unserem Abfahrtstag bereits um 8.30 Uhr, was uns den Abschied sehr leicht machte. Am Montag um 17.49 Uhr fragten wir, wo wir den Schlüssel lassen sollen und erwähnten, dass wir am Dienstag um 8.30 Uhr abfahren werden. Eine Antwort erhielten wir am Dienstagtag um 8.43 Uhr. Alle Töpfe/Deckel und Pfannen werden an den Griffen sehr heiss, trotzdem gibt es keine Topflappen. Mit einem normalen Auto (Sedan/Stufenhecklimousine) ist die steile Wegfahrt vom Cottage Blue Sky grenzwertig. PS: Vom schwarzen Hund nicht anspringen lassen, ich hab jetzt noch Spuren am Oberschenkel. (Ansonsten sind beide Hunde aber wirklich freundlich.)

Mark was a very friendly and welcoming host who made us feel immediately at home. The cottage was wonderful and very private, offering everything we needed for a comfortable self-catering stay. We especially loved the jacuzzi and the unique hanging deck with cushions, which was the perfect place to relax and watch the stars at night. The views over the valley were simply priceless and the peaceful surroundings made it a truly special place. Check in was seamless, property was spotless, the views are sensational, the bath on our balcony!!wow! Knysna is a short trip down the road and Mark/Marsh are great hosts with plenty of ideas for things to do in the surrounding area. Nothing we actually booked another night as it’s AMAZING.

Fresh jasmine was beautifully placed around the space, a complimentary bottle of wine was waiting for us, and plenty of wood was provided for the fire. The jacuzzi was already warm when we arrived, which was perfect for the chilly days in the forest. The quiet, the nature, and the thoughtful touches made the whole experience unforgettable. I would go back in a heartbeat.

Amy (10/5): Fantastic quite and peacul getaway - We absolutely loved our stay at the cottage. It was incredibly peaceful and quiet — the perfect place to relax and switch off. The accommodation is so well considered, with everything thoughtfully laid out and comfortable. We felt at home straight away and didn’t want to leave. Mufaddal (9/5): Unforgettable experience of a life time - The place was vintage, amazing and outstanding. Very captivating. Its one of those dream places to be right in the middle of the forest. The reception gentleman was very welcoming and gave me all the insights on Knysna The check in was a bit tedious as we could not locate the rooms. I would recommend adding a short video that leads to each room sent befor arrival. Since we were very tired from our travel it took us a good 15 mins to find after speaking to the host. Also the numbers to contact the host, reception desk should be clearly mentioned in the rooms. I had called and dropped a message but I did not get a reply to my quires until I had to visit and speak with the reception area personally.

Wiandri (10/5): An Unforgettable Stay - We recently stayed in Earth Rose Cottage at Forest Valley Cottages and absolutely loved our time there. From the moment we arrived, the panoramic views of the Knysna forest and the majestic Outeniqua Mountains took our breath away—just as the listing promises. The cottage features a luxurious hydro/tub-style hot tub (perfect for two), and curling up in its warmth while looking out over the valley was a daily highlight. We stayed warm and cozy thanks to the wood-burning fireplace, and the fully equipped kitchenette made it easy to prepare anything from a hearty breakfast to a romantic dinner. Evening meals on the private deck were a delight, enhanced by the braai area and hammock—ideal for relaxing with a glass of wine while taking in the crisp fresh air. The open-plan shower and spacious bathroom, with candlelight and thoughtful bath goodies, added a sweet touch of luxury. Watching this sunrise through floor-to-ceiling windows with a forest surrounding your cabin and breathtaking views. And if you're cold, you lit the fireplace and within 20min the cabin is heated and cozy and warm. That's what you'll get with this place. Ingrid (10/5): The view of your dreams - We went to the Forest Valley Cottages for our honeymoon, and WOW what an amazing experience. Waking up to the most beautiful views every morning! Drinking our coffee on the patio as the world wakes up filled with bird songs. Then enjoying a glass of champagne in the hot tub whilst listening to the sounds of the night. We will definitely visit again.

(Bring walking sticks as it's very steep) The small pool area was a treat and the cottage is very well equiped. I think Glory Dawn has the most privacy. We loved it. Highly recommended. We loved our stay! If I have to say something negative it's this: Baboons passed by each day which made us a bit nervous to leave the doors open, so we had to have aircon going most of the time.

Michele (9/5): Beautiful, tranquil and remote with a nice jacuzzi - We loved the location of feeling so remote, our view from lavender edge cottage was out over the mountains and felt like the only people there! We also very much liked the jacuzzi on our back porch which heated up quickly and the double coffee machine. You are not far from Knysea - 15minutes from the harbour/feathered reserve. We’d really recommend this place if you are looking to relax and not be in the hustle and bustle of it all Some parts inside are looking a little tired with windows/doors not closing shut fully. However, we understand it’s a valley property and therefore the wood will swell and sometimes things not close. We also had a lot of rain which sadly brought the rain spiders inside, not the property’s fault at all (and the kind staff were ready to see them out for us :) ), however, it’s something to consider due to the mountain location
