- Carolin.Bongard (10/5): - The accommodation absolutely blew us away. We had the small double room with a sea view and access to the large terrace. From the terrace, or rather the balcony, you had an indescribable view of the dunes and the sea. Overall, we liked the entire house incredibly much and felt very, very comfortable. The common area is beautifully and cozily designed. The kitchen is very well equipped, and everything was extremely clean and tidy. We enjoyed our stay so much that we decided to extend it by another night. We also had breakfast on both days, which was excellent. There was a wide variety of options, everything was delicious, and it was clearly prepared with a lot of care and attention to detail. As a small additional note, the rooms did not have air conditioning, but this was not an issue at all. It cooled down in the evenings, and due to the seaside location, there was always a pleasant breeze. We simply left the window open, which worked perfectly well for us. Nothing!

- Anamaria (10/5): - Wir haben zwei Nächte in der Surf Lodge verbracht und es hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Der Gemeinschaftsraum sowie der Außenbereich sind sehr schön und liebevoll gestaltet. Der private Zugang zum Strand bietet eine schnelle Möglichkeit zum Strand zu gelangen. Das Personal ist ebenfalls sehr herzlich und hilfsbereit. Es hat uns sehr gut gefallen und wir können die Surf Lodge für einen kurzen Aufenthalt empfehlen!

- Franziska (8/5): - Wunderschöne, sichere Lage am Strand. Man wacht morgens quasi mit Blick auf das Meer und den Meeresgeräuschen auf. Alles sehr unkompliziert und entspannt. Die angebotenen Surfstunden waren ebenfalls gut. Das Haus ist leider sehr hellhörig, man hört quasi jeden Schritt von anderen Leuten, da das Holzhaus sehr knarrt.

- Dietmar (7/5): Coole Location mit tollen unverbaubaren Bick auf die Wellen des Indischen Ozeans - Die Surf Lodge South Africa ist zwar eine einfache Unterkunft, aber die Lage entschädigt hier alles. Auf der Veranda mit einem guten Glas Wein sitzend, kann man die Wellen des indischen Ozeans bewundern. Da hat uns auch der Ausflug einer verirrten Fledermaus in unser Zimmer nicht aus der Fassung gebracht, wir haben gelernt, das nächste Mal den Vorhang zuzuziehen, wenn wir abends draußen sitzen ;).... Es waren sehr wenig Gäste in der Lodge, so dass wir quasi das Haus für uns hatten. Die Gemeinschaftsküche ist vollständig und zweckmäßig eingerichtet, somit kann man ohne Probleme sich sein Frühstück auch selber machen, man muss sich nur die dafür notwendigen Sachen am Vortag besorgen. Auch der vorübergehende Stromausfall aufgrund eines Waldbrands konnte durch die Notstromanlage überbrückt werden. Wir hatten eine ruhige und entspannte Zeit. Das Einchecken wurde recht schnell erledigt, von wegen hier Schlüssel da Zimmer und tschüss... Den Code um von außen das Tor zu öffnen, um mit dem Auto reinfahren zu können bzw. überhaupt ins Haus zu kommen, haben wir dann auf Nachfrage von anderen Gästen erhalten :( .... Es war im Grunde niemand vor Ort, man konnte zwar über WhatsApp kommunizieren - sicher nicht schlecht, aber das kann besser. (Zum Glück sind wir flexibel.)

- Pia (10/5): Unsere Lieblingsunterkunft der Garden Route! - Wenn wir eine Unterkunft immer wieder buchen würden ist es die Surf Lodge! Es war einfach nur traumhaft. Man hat quasi 360 Grad Meerblick in der Unterkunft, kann Surfen, hat einen eigenen Strand, eigenen Pool - ich weiß nicht, was man noch besser machen sollte! Man kann den Sonnenaufgang aus dem Bett beobachten… Wir sind großer Surf Lodge Fan!

- Catherine (9/5): Superb - Superb lodge close to the beach, in a quiet neighbourhood. The staff were really helpful and we booked the surf lesson with them. They shuttle you across to the surf school and will pick up after no problem. Recommendations for eating out provided, the kitchen has everything you need to cook meals if eating in. The stay was great value for money. Unfortunately, we were unable to use the bedside lamps in our room the cable was too short, not sure if the extension cable had been moved some point and not returned. We had a short stay, so we did not want to disturb the team late at night.

The beach view from our suite was beautiful , also the room is now renovated you will notice the bath tub is no longer next to the bed which was a good surprise. We checked in so late , Daniel welcomed us so well with a smile and we loved how he communicated everything we might like upfront for us to decide. There’s also a little information desk with all the nearby restaurant and some activities this was helpful. We honestly felt at home with everyone around. The views are immaculate, the walk to the beach is a stone throw away and the management is superb. There is always help guaranteed when needed and easy transfers for those traveling without their own vehicle. The activities made possible to sign up for during your stay is a big bonus.

The people at the lodge were all so nice, we would definitly recommend staying here. The Lodge also offered many activities and recommendations in the area. The position of this hotel, right on the best beach of Jeffreys Bay, allows visitors the luxury to walk barefoot (50 m) from their room to the Ocean. And what a spectacular sunrise from the balcony! The atmosphere at the Surf Lodge is very jolly and relaxed at the same time, and they offer plenty of activities for their visitors (surfing but not only that). Definitely not my last visit :-)

- Smith (6/5): Great for a group of friends, not so much for a couples romantic night out. - Great view from our private balcony & walking distance to the private beach. Secure parking behind a gate. Spacious room with our own bath and shower and comfortable bed. The property is more suited for a group of friends than a romantic night out for a couple. It's a bit noisy with the wooden floors and not very soundproof walls. We could hear everyone as they came and went. The coffee station in the room was not properly equipped. We had to get our own mugs from the communal kitchen and the coffee jar in our room was filled with filter coffee instead of instant coffee, without any filters to use. The communal areas were also not the cleanest or very tidy. We arrived during the check in time but we didn't see any staff during our stay until the next morning when we checked out. At least the owner did send us a message with some instructions on our arrival, but having no staff there made it difficult for us when we had general questions.

- Jürgen (8/5): A great Surfer place with super friendly young people - this place is a great Backpackers Surfer place. Yopung friendly people that love to surf and spend a good time together. We were the older guests and felt really welcome and had a super great surfing time there!
- Constantine (9/5): Surfer’s dream - As a solo traveller, first and foremost was the people that are attracted to the lodge. Friendly staff and the facilities are conducive to meeting new people, and, if you feel like it, surfing! While the location is about a 12min drive from JBay, there are free transfers to get you there and back in the day and there is a fantastic, almost private, beach right on your doorstep with brilliant views from the lodge. During Summer, surf lessons are at JBay.
- Milena (7/5): It was fine! - Nice location close to the beach. Great view from the room. We received the key from a girl who called herself a "volunteer". Maybe we did not get the concept of the place. We did not meet the host or manager at all. Property did not look clean. We found few stains on the bedsheets. They were washed but just did not look nice. The pool was not usable as it was not clean.

- Tatjana (8/5): Nice sea view - We booked the suite which is a spacious room with a nice sea view. Wifi was good. Close to the beach. Wooden floor is quite noisy when you walk on it. A bit awkward that the toilet is in the room not hidden behind a door.

The private rooms are super clean and cozy Nice atmosphere Friendly staff Be careful the surf and yoga is not always at the lodge! (We were a bit disappointed to hear it’s not but they offer a shuttle to the town) You will need to drive 15min to Jeffrey’s town Shared kitchen can be sometimes messy (nobody does the dishes..)
